He sighed. “No, I have enough to worry about, you’re dealing with this. A week then.” His sigh turned into a grin. “The longer you are in my bed anyway.”
“Germany is near to the gate. They will be our funnel for the human race.”
He stared at her a moment, looking serious. She wondered if he was reconsidering, but then he broke out into a relaxed smile. “They think this will work out for them as the rulers of Earth,” Hagirr said, laughing once again. “That part of it entertains me, so I grow more enthusiastic for your plan. Imagine when we turn on them.”
“Ernst and Herta are not to be harmed,” Elianna warned.
Her tone seemed to shock her lover. “You dare to order me?”
She walked up to him, pushed her splayed fingers into his chest hair. “Indulge me.”
Shaking his head, he pulled away and sat in a chair, taking Elianna’s wine that Niza had brought.
“I always indulge you. You are pampered. Maybe it is time for discipline?”
It was her turn to laugh. “You could take me down, but Jangik would be a smoking ruin before it was done. We both know this. You may be the most powerful wizard on Aerth, but I would be shocked if I’m not second.”
“Maybe,” Hagirr agreed. “I do not wish to see my jewels destroyed. You or Jangik. Let’s not test our skills today.”
“What are your pets doing with their time?” he asked.
“Making love, eating, engaging in play. Much like we do.”
He grimaced. “Do not compare anyone to us.” Taking a drink of her wine, he swished it about his mouth, almost as if he were washing the taste out. “One week. Then you take them to Earth and install them as puppets.”
“Easily done. All the more reason not to hurry them.”
“I understand your reasons,” he said. “But Earth must be emptied of humans. It will take years, and I wish to get started.”
“You will have your souls. You will have your slaves. You will have your beautiful human women.”
“I know. I always get what I want.”
“Since you gave me a week, I would think that so do I,” she teased, sitting in his lap and stealing back her wine.
“Insolent.”
She clasped his face and kissed his lips. She lay her cheek against his and whispered into his ear.
“I know. I always get what I want.”

First, I’d like to apologize for taking a long time to get this book out. I could make excuses, but they don’t mean a thing to you, the reader. You want books. It’s my job to provide them.
I will endeavor to improve on that.

As you can see from the story, this world has almost completely diverged from ours in just a few months. I’ve killed off Hitler and stopped the war in Europe cold in its tracks. It is still on in Asia, for now, and you can see that in Chapter 1. Expect the war to expand in the coming novels.
I am hoping that with the trend on social media to eliminate anything that might offend someone, factual or not, that we don’t lose our ability to research WWII and the atrocities committed during the war. YouTube is deleting any references to the Nazis, even educational videos that stand against fascism.
When we cannot refresh our minds, we forget. I hope that something changes, and the media giants realize just how important our history is. It’s even more important not to scrub it into a generic tale in order not to offend anyone.
Please remember the losses our ancestors suffered. On the fields of battle, in the concentration camps, and in the green fields of China. WWII was a very dark time in our history.
Never forget.
