“You never known,” Bonnie said. “I’m just taking core classes right now in my dual enrollment. I’m still leaning towards English as a potential major, but I’m open to trying something else.”
“I am going to eat a second slice,” Dazzle said after she took her first bite of her very first slice. “I can already tell I’m going to have to get me a second one.”
“Any ideas for your next special?” Braxton asked as he made himself a plate of the carrot cake as well.
“Not sure just yet,” Molly said, smiling at Bonnie. “But with Bonnie on our team, I’m sure we’ll be able to figure something out.”
“Not dog treats, right?” Whip asked.
“No, not dog treats,” Molly moaned. Thankfully, the negative attention they had initially gotten from the dog show had not affected their customer base. Now that Jennifer had openly confessed to poisoning Molly’s fudge, the locals were still being quite supportive. George had confessed to the murder of Oscar. And, as predicted, Lilith’s winnings had been taken from her and granted to the runner-up, and she had already spent several nights in jail; however, she was walking away with mostly a heavy fine. Isaac, on the other hand, was banned from grooming within the city of Savannah.
Molly smiled and laughed as she and her young employees enjoyed their afternoon treat. She had a bunch of ideas for future desserts, but for now she was just enjoying Bonnie’s latest contribution to the shop. With the new fall season on its way, she was growing increasingly excited at her shop’s potential.

Officer Jack Barns threw the last of his clothes into his suitcase, grumbling the entire time. He had seen one too many online articles about this Molly’s Dessert Emporium in Savannah. He had been keeping a close eye out on his ex-girlfriend, following her social media pages for her shop under a fake account. It sounded like the shop was actually doing fairly well, but he needed to see it for himself to believe it.
He headed out of his apartment, and he shoved his suitcase into the back of his car, still feeling increasingly frustrated with each passing second. He was using up a good bit of his vacation time to drive out to Savannah. He sat in his driver’s seat, double-checking to make sure his pistol was waiting for him in his glovebox. Then, he pulled his phone out to take a peek at the dessert shop’s social media pages. There was a new photo up. It was Molly with that same blond-haired, blue-eyed guy; she was serving him some fudge, and he was grinning at her. It made Jack’s stomach tighten. Who was this guy? And why was he in so many of the shop’s pictures?
He threw his phone down into the passenger’s seat and started up his car, whipping it out into the street and causing another car to have to slam on its brakes to avoid hitting him. Jack didn’t really care; he ignored the obscene gesture the other driver threw his way and zoomed down the road. Savannah was a good drive from Atlanta, but he felt like he needed to see Molly. They needed to talk. He knew he had insulted her pretty bad, picking at her about her failed business out in Brooks. Admittedly, he had taken it a bit too far. Their breakup had been harsh, and he felt like there were some things that needed to be said. And who knew, maybe the relationship could be salvaged? He wasn’t sure, but he was going to try, whether she liked it or not.
