Twenty minutes later, after Reese and Face had driven away from the building, the tinted blue Ford Taurus pulled up out front. The agents inside the car had been trying to reach A-Rock on his Fed-provided cellphone. They needed him for another job, but his days working as an undercover informant were now over.

  Later that night...

Gloria sat on the edge of her bed in tears. She had just seen Face and Tasha get out of the car and walk into the building. It was the fourth straight day Tasha had come over to spend the night. Gloria hated the fact Face was no longer showing her the attention as before. Her feelings for him had grown deeper and stronger than for any man she hadloved before. Gloria was in love with a man she knew she would never have, because she knew his heart belonged to his childhood sweetheart,Tasha.

She was hurt and upset, but couldn't do anything about it. As the tears slowly fell down the sides of her face, she thought about his gentle touch and soft kisses. And the powerful, fervent lovemaking that they had shared every time they were together. She turned suddenly, fell forward, and cried desperately into her satin pillow.

"Put it on now," Tasha said with a smile.

"Why? Don't you wanna have my child?" Face asked,

holding the condom in his open palm and staring at it, then at Tasha. "Yeah, but not right now. Not until we're married and our

  companyis doing better," Tasha replied.

Face stared at her beautiful naked body and just shook his head.

Eversince the first time they made love, they had been at it nonstop. Face rolled the condom over the head and down the shaft of

his penis, then walked over and joined Tasha on the bed.

They started kissing, then he laid her back and climbed on top

of her, both of their bodies yearning for sexual affection - he, hard

as a rock; she, wet as an ocean. Face raised her legs onto his

shoulders and positioned himself to enter into her calling love tunnel. "I love you so much, Face," Tasha said, as he slid deep inside

her. "I love you, too," Face said, watching as tears of pain

and joy escaped from the confines of her eyes.

  Chapter Sixty-Four

  Early August, One month later...

Hood and Ron Perry sat on the sofa watching as Robbie walked away to give them some privacy. "That's a good boy you got there," Ron said.

"Robbie's the best son any father could ever ask for," Hood agreedproudly.

"Did you ever hear anything else about Robbie's mother?"

"No! The hell with her anyway," Hood replied. "I hate that bitch and that little bastard of hers!" "I understand your hatred of Pamela, but why her son?" Ron asked, curiously.

"'Cause that little bastard stabbed me in my shoulder! I should have took that knife from his ass and cut his fuckin' throat!" Hood vented.

"Calm down, Hood, that was a long time ago. The little nigga is probably dead or locked-up in prison somewhere,” Ron laughed.

"Let's hope so, 'Cause I tell you, Ron, the look in that little boy's eyes, when he ran at me with that knife, was a look I ain't never seen before in one so young. It was the look of pure hate. He would have killedme joyfully," Hood said with a haunted look in his eyes, remembering that night so long ago.

"Well, what'd you expect, Hood? He saw you standing over his beaten mother and he only did what he could to protect her."

"Yeah, you're right. But, I think it was something more. And I don't know why, but over the years I've had a few nightmares over that incidentwith Pamela and her son."

  "Nightmares”? Ron smiled.

  "Yeah, nightmares," Hood answered.

"So, do you think the little punk will try and come for you one day?"

"Who knows? His crazy-ass mother tried to kill me twice," Hood said, sitting back and thinking about the two incidents. "And she almost succeeded," he added, staring into Ron's eyes with the same distressed look in his eyes. "I don't know why I'm about to tell you this, but if anything ever happens to me, check out Pamela's son."

  "You're serious, huh?"

  "Dead serious," Hood replied.

"Well, Hood, I don't think you ever have to worry about some youngpunk doing any harm to you. Everyone who has tried in the past is living in a cemetery," Ron said with a devilish grin, "and I don't have a problem putting a few more right alongside with them."

"Just remember what I said, Ron; if something ever happens to me, check out Pamela's son."

Ron nodded his head and stood up from the sofa. Hood stood and together they walked to the front door. They shook hands and Ron left.

After Ron left, Hood walked towards the backyard to join Britney,Arianna, and Robbie out by the pool.

The visiting room inside the Lewisburgh prison was packed with inmates,C.O's, family members, and friends. Face and Truck were seated next to each other having a private discussion. "I got the money you sent me," Truck said with a smile.

"No problem. Like I said, it will be there every month. My girl will take care of it," Face replied. "So, how's it up here?"

"Not as bad as I thought it would be, mostly drug dealers and bankrobbers; everyone here respects each other. Plus, I got a lot of time to think and catch up on some good reading," Truck joked. Face shook his head, understanding, and smiled.

"I read in the paper last month what happened to A-Rock and Foxy. Shame," Truck said, barely able to conceal his smile of satisfaction. "Just proves that people eventually get what is coming to them. So, thanks for everything," Truck smiled, then whispered, "I owe you one."

"I don't know why you should owe me anything, Truck. If anything, I owe you."

"Not no more," Truck said with a wink.

Face just smiled and nodded his head.

"You don't have to say anything, but thanks anyway," Truck said again. "Who would have ever thought, huh? My snitch-ass nephew and my woman was living and fucking each other in my apartment."

"Why didn't you ever tell me about that apartment?" Face asked.

"A lot of reasons, but safety and privacy were the main ones. It was my little hide out place, where I went and did a lot of thinking and fucking," Truck replied. "Plus, I learned a long time ago that it’s important to keep some things to yourself."

When the loud intercom came on and informed everyone that visitation was about to be over, Face and Truck stood up from their seats. They gave each other friendly hugs and pounds on the back.

"You be cool out there, Soldier. And try and keep Reese out of trouble, too."

"I will," Face said, as they separated, shook hands and looked into each other's eyes. Both men's eyes reflected sincerity, honesty, and respect. They nodded, then turned and walked in opposite directions. Truck back to his small two man cell, and Face out towards the parking lot, where Reese was inside his car, waiting.

  Later that evening...

Pamela, Veronica, Tasha, and Momma were all sitting around in the living room talking and laughing.

D.J. was upstairs inside his bedroom, talking on the telephone with one of his female friends. "So, all ya'll hot heffas got a hot date tonight, huh?" Momma asked, pointing the remote control at the TV and turning the volume down.

"Me and Jay is going to a movie later tonight. Lord knows I need a break after all the work Tasha be having me doing," Pamela said, with asmile.

"Like I said, Miss Pam, one day it will come in handy," Tasha replied.

"So, where are you and Face going?" Momma asked.

  "His apartment," Tasha grinned.

Momma shook her head and said, "Girl, you done started givin' it up and now you don't know how to stop!"

Everyone burst out with laughter at Momma's sincerity.

"Momma"! Tasha said feeling a little embarrassed.

"Girl, it ain't no secret. Every day you got a new hickey on your neck. And I never heard so much singing in the shower in all my life. When a woman sing that much, a man gotta be doin' something right!" Momma said, and they all started laughing
again.

"And Veronica…who's the lucky rich bastard tonight?” Momma saidturning the attention to Veronica.

  "Somebody," she answered coyly.

"Girl, don't you 'somebody' me!" Momma said, bumping

  her shoulder.

"Okay," Veronica answered. "His name is Anthony," she

grinned. "And what is he…another banker, lawyer,

doctor, police chief?" Momma said in a joking manner.

"Neither one, but he is a lot older than me."

  "How old"? Pamela asked curiously.

"Old enough," Veronica answered with a devilish grin.

"Momma, maybe I can hook you up with one of my rich friends," she teased.

Momma looked at her with a serious expression and said, "Girl, the only white man you can get for me is Victor, from The Young and The Restless. If you can't get me him, then I don't want to be bothered!"

Once again they all burst out in laughter.

After another half an hour sitting around talking and laughing, Pamela and Veronica left the house, while Tasha went upstairs to get herself ready for Face.

Alone once again, Momma pointed the remote at the TV and turned up the volume. As she relaxed back into the sofa, she smiled to herself, thinking about her three beautiful daughters and how proud she was ofthem.

  Inside the Denrich Apartments...

Inside Gloria's apartment, her and Face were sitting in the living roomtalking.

"Face, I love you and I just can't take it anymore!" Gloria said, as thetears fell down her face.

Face reached out and grabbed Gloria's trembling hands, then he looked into her watery brown eyes and said sincerely, "I love you too, Gloria, but only as a friend. I told you after we started seeing each other that we could only be friends and nothing more. You knew that up front."

"Face I know, please don't remind me," Gloria said, as she used her hands to wipe the tears from her face. "We haven't had sex in over a week and you hardly ever come by here to see me anymore." "I've been busy," Face replied.

"With who, Tasha?" Gloria said upsettingly.

"What did I tell you about that?" Face said in an angry voice. "Leave Tasha’s name outta your mouth!"

Gloria saw the serious look in Face's eyes and said, "I'm sorry. I won't do it again."

"She has nothing to do with us. So, if you blame anybody, blame

  me."

"Face, I don't blame either one of ya'll. I blame myself for falling deeply in love with you - a man I can’t never have for myself," Gloria replied.

"So, you're really serious about moving back to New York, huh?" "Yes, Face, I'm leaving in a few days. I'll finish school there.

It's the only way I can, because seeing you and being around you

only makes things worse," Gloria said as the tears started to fall

  from her eyes once again.

  Face reached out and gave her a long warm hug;

before giving her a deeply felt kiss. He had established strong

feelings for Gloria, but not the ones she had wanted. And he knew it

was best for them both if they put some distance between them.

"I'm gonna miss you," Face said.

"Not as much as I'm gonna miss you," Gloria smiled. "You

have all my info if you ever need me."

"I promise you that I'll keep in touch," he said.

"You better. Especially if you ever need a good lawyer!"

  she grinned.

They sat for a moment just staring into each other's face.

"You're a very beautiful woman, Gloria. And I hope you

get everything in life that your heart desires."

Gloria stood up and looked deeply into his caring eyes. "Thank

  you,Face, but so far, I'm already 0 for 1."

They walked over to the door and kissed once more.

"I'll see you again before you leave for New York," he said,

  then opened the door.

  Gloria smiled, but didn't respond.

After Face left her apartment and went next door, she walked

over to a wooden chair beside the window. She sat there crying more

than she had ever cried in her young life. What she didn't tell Face

was that she was six weeks pregnant with his child. And not only

was she moving back to New York to heal her inner pain, but she

had already set up a doctor's appointment at the Brooklyn Medical

Center to have an abortion. It would be the single most horrible thing

she had ever done, but she felt and knew it was the right thing to do. She had a bright future ahead of her and could never use a child as an instrument to gain the father's love. She also knew that it backfired most of the time and turned into pure hate.

Thirty minutes later, Gloria watched as Tasha drove up and parked her car in front of the building. She watched her get out of the car and run into Face's open and welcoming arms. She knew Face must have been inside the lobby waiting and watching for Tasha. As she watched from herwindow, they, holding hands, walked into the building and out of her sight.

In the quietness of her apartment, Gloria Jones sat by her window, hurting, grieving, and crying rivers of tears. The pain she felt was the worst she hoped she would ever have to bear.

  Chapter Sixty-Five

  Central America Managua, Nicaragua...

The burnt orange sun set behind a thick canopy of trees. The heat was oppressive with insects and jungle creatures thriving while mosquitoes attacked relentlessly in the humidity.

In a secluded area inside a large warehouse, Rico and Jose Gomez stood back watching as their workers removed thousands of kilos of cocaine from a white eighteen-wheeler. Over 20,000 of Columbia'sfinest kilos were stacked neatly inside.

"Mas Aprisa!" Rico shouted out, telling his workers to move more quickly, because another large shipment was coming in a few hours.

A short, chubby older man walked up to Rico and Jose holding a clipboard in his hands and he looked concerned.

"What is it, Roberto?" Rico asked, as he continued to keep his eyes on his workers.

"Boss, I just wanted to go over this list again," Roberto said. "Go ahead," Rico replied.

"I have six U.S. cities on the list. Our good friends in Miami and Texas are waiting so they can start distributing the product throughout the U.S."

"Hurry up, Roberto! Names and numbers only! We don't have all

  day!"

"Yes, Boss. Kevin in New York, he's getting twenty-five hundred kilos; Percy in Chicago, he's getting two thousand kilos; Lance in Cleveland is getting fifteen hundred; Raymond in D.C. is getting fifteen hundred; Omar and Kenny in Los Angeles are getting three thousand - and Hood in Philadelphia is getting sevenhundred and fifty," Roberto said.

"Did you notify everyone?" Rico asked.

"Yes, Boss. They're all expecting their shipments in the next few days and I'll be in Miami to make sure everything continues to run smoothly.”

"Good. You can go now," Rico said, brushing Roberto off. They watched as Roberto fumed and walked away.

Roberto Chavez was one of their top men. He had been working withthe Gomez brothers for over 8 years and was one of the few men that they trusted.

"So, did Hood tell you when he would be back to his normal shipments?" Jose asked, as he and Rico walked toward the back door.

"No. He said he wanted to find out more about the potential federalinvestigation first. He's just being a little cautious," Rico said. "Well, hopefully everything will go back to normal again. Hood andPhiladelphia are major assets for us. We don't need the Feds messing things up," Jose replied, as they walked out the back door and over to a black Mercedes Benz limousine.

Four large bodyguards were standing around. Each held a locked andloaded machine gun in his hands. One of the bodyguards opened the back door of the limo and Rico and Jose climbed inside.

When the door closed the limousine slowly pulled off. Sitting across fr
om the brothers, on the opposite seat, were two very beautiful Americanmodels. They were both tall, with long blond hair and light blue eyes.

"Did we take too long, ladies?" Jose asked, as he reached over to thesmall bar and grabbed a glass and a bottle of champagne. "No, Baby. It wasn't long at all," the beauty across from Jose said, smiling.

"Good. Our jet is refueled and waiting to take us back to Vegas. We should be back at the Blackjack tables,” Jose paused and looked at his gold Rolex, "before eleven o'clock."

"Fine with us," the other model-class beauty replied.

Then, they all lifted their glasses of champagne and happily toasted to the good life and to each other.

  West Philly...

"I'll be at your house in thirty minutes," Jay told Pamela, before he closed his cell phone and placed it inside his jacket pocket. Sitting inside his big white Ford Expedition, he waited patiently for the traffic light to turn green.

When the light changed colors, he pulled off and headed toward his weed-house at 63rd and Callowhill. Five minutes later, he pulled up and double-parked in front of the house. He beeped his car-horn twice and waited for his young worker to come outside.

Inside a parked brown Nissan Maxima, Killa-D and another man hadtheir guns ready. The Maxima was parked in the middle of the block and not noticed by Jay as he drummed his fingers on the steering wheel patiently.

"I told you he would be here!" the man said. "I got his whole schedule down-pack!"

"Yeah, you was right, Snake. That's him," Killa-D said with an evil grin. "Hood’s been after his bitch ass for years!"

"Fuck dat nigga! He killed my brother and cousin," Snake stated emphatically, "now it's time for him to pay!"

Killa-D and Snake both watched as a young man climbed into Jay's truck and shut the door. Then they watched the truck pull off, drive down the street and turn the corner.

"They'll be right back, Killa-D. He always drive around the block a few times," Snake said knowingly, with a nod.

"You ready for this?" Killa-D asked, looking across at Snake.

"I been ready and waiting for six years," Snake said, as he kissed the tip of his Browning High–Powered .9mm.
