  And what power you have, little bird, what tremendous power.

  I could feel it ensnare me before I knew what it was. Little threads of bluish light, fragile enough for me to snap with a movement, but strong enough to hold for all time. How could I ever break them? Those threads are the only thing left of you.

  The sum total of your magic – everything you were, all the energy that bound you together – is in those threads. You died to bind me, little bird, and even though I could break them in an instant, I know, as you knew, that I never will, I never will.
