420 Bride Street: Cherry Falls, Book #16 Page 6

by Cole, Jagger

  “Fuck, Tansy,” I groan.

  “We shouldn’t… I mean, we can’t…”

But my lips slam into hers again, stopping whatever she’s about to say. We can. And we are. And nothing is going to stop this right now.

She gasps when my lips pull away. I hungrily kiss down her jawline, moving to her neck. Her moans and gasped whimpers get louder and more insistent when I suck and lick the tender, secret places between her ear and her collarbone. My hands tighten on her, gripping her sundress as I start to tug it higher.

“Colt,” she moans. Her hands slip under my t-shirt, and her nails drag over up over my abs and my chest. I snarl into her skin, kissing lower and yanking the straps of her sundress down. I peel the flimsy cotton over the full swell of her tits until it drops.

I groan when my eyes drink in the lack of bra. My cock surges, hungry for her. My lips move down over her, kissing her skin until I suck a pink nipple between them. Tansy whimpers and slides her hands into my hair. I move from one to the other, before suddenly, I’m dropping to my knees.

“Oh fuck, Colt!” She gasps when I shove her sundress up to her hips. My eyes center on little white panties. The hunger in me reaches a boiling point.

My fingers slip into the waist, and suddenly I’m yanking them down to her knees. My eyes center on what has got to be the single prettiest little pussy in the goddamn world. My jaw clenches a I groan with lust for her. And in a second, my face pushes between her thighs.

“Oh my God!” Tansy cries out when my tongue drags though her lips. I groan into her, loving how soaking damn wet she is. I’m merciless with my tongue, devouring her little cunt as her cries of pleasure fill my ears. My hands slide around to cup her ass, pulling her against my mouth as I suck her clit between my lips.

Her hips rock into me. Her fingers slip into my thick hair, gripping me tightly. She moans as her pussy floods my tongue with her lust. My tongue swirls over her clit as I suck on it, and her cries grow louder. Until suddenly, her voice breaks as she starts to orgasm.

I groan as I taste her cum over my lips and chin. It’s like I’m drunk off of her, pressing my face into her as I lick up every drop. I drag my tongue once more through her lips as she shudders and moans. And then, I’m lurching to my feet.

My mouth presses to hers in an instant. But Tansy doesn’t pull away. She’s not shy that she can taste herself on my lips. Hell, she kisses me even harder, taking my tongue into her mouth. She moans, and her hands drop to start yanking at my belt. My pulse roars. My need for her threatens to explode through me like a bomb.

“I need you,” she groans. Her hand slides over the huge bulge in my jeans, cupping it. She whimpers as she feels how fucking big and hard she’s made me.

“I need this,” she gasps. Her small hands yank open my belt. She pops the button, and my cock pulses for her. She starts to tug down the zipper as my tongue swirls with hers—

And then we hear the sound of a car rumbling down the driveway. I scowl as I glance outside, and my heart sinks.

  “Shit,” I hiss.

  “Who is that?”

“My lawyers,” I groan. “I forgot they were coming out to go over the paperwork for the contract extension.”

I turn back to her, but suddenly, I can see her lust turn to embarrassment. Like she’s suddenly regretting what just happened.

“Right, well…” She flushes as she quickly yanks the top of her sundress up, hiding those gorgeous tits from my eyes. She bites her lip as she reaches down and tugs her panties back up, smoothing the dress down over herself.

  “You should go…”

  “Tansy…”

She shrugs casually, even if her face looks fallen. “No, honestly, go ahead.”

“Tansy,” I growl. I step back close to her. My hands slide over her hips. “Whatever that just was—”

“Hey, it’s all just pretend, right?” She smiles. She’s trying so hard to come off as casual and carefree. But I can see a storm swirling in her eyes.

  “Tansy, c’mon—”

“Colt, I’m fine.” She blushes as she leans up on her toes and kisses me softly; quickly. “That was a lot of fun.”

  I clench my jaw.

“That’s all this is, right? I mean, we’re fake engaged, might as well have some fun, right?”

  “I never said that Tansy.”

She waves a hand. “Colt, it’s fine. We’re both adults, and I get it. And trust me,” she blushes. “I had fun too.”

She’s reading this wrong. Or she’s purposefully reframing this whole thing to distance herself from me. Or at least, to distance some part of her, or some emotion inside of her from me.

  “Yeah,” I grunt. “Fun.”

“A lot of fun,” she breathes.

The car stops outside of the house and a bunch of buttoned-up lawyers step out. One of them waves at me. And I nod back.

  “Go, really.”

  I suck on my teeth.

“Colt, you don’t have to overthink this, honestly,” she smiles. “I’m not a clingy girl. You’re safe, okay?”

But I don’t want to be safe with her. I want the brake lines cut.

“Anyways, I need to run myself. I’m suppose to have a meeting with Dr. Watts soon about the job on-boarding.”

I nod, my jaw still clenched. Tansy rakes her teeth over her bottom lip.

  “So, later?”

  I nod. “Yeah, later.”

She opens her mouth, but then it snaps shut. She blushes a little as her big blue eyes hold mine. “Okay, bye.”

She turns, and I watch her the whole way as she walks back to the cottage.

I want the brake-lines cut, alright. The thing is, I think they already are.

  8

  Tansy

I lied. I lied to Colt, but also to myself.

Nothing about this is “just pretend” anymore. And actually, I’m not sure it ever was. The pretty delusions I have about the reasons I jumped in with Deirdre the other day… that “I’d also been burned” or that I “just wanted to do the right thing”? The casual façade I put up with Colt after…

I blush deeply. After what just happened, not three hours ago. After he put his mouth between my legs and made me come like I have never come before.

The kisses haven’t been fake or just pretend. The lingering looks haven’t been. Neither have the thoughts about Colt that keep swirling through my head, or the way my heart races when I even think about him.

In fact, the only “just pretend” part of any of this situation is me pretending that any of it is “just pretend.”

What I feel for Colt is real. Very, very real. So real that it’s scaring the hell out of me.

I walk the streets of downtown Cherry Falls in a daze. I’ve just spent the last two hours with Dr. Watts at the veterinary clinic going over my start date and things like that. I know I should be thrilled for the job and thrilled to start it. But I’m having a hard time thinking of a damn thing but the hot as hell way Colt yanked my panties down like he couldn’t wait to devour me whole.

I’m also having a hard time getting excited for the job when my new boss is congratulating me on my pending nuptials and asking if wedding planning or the wedding itself will interfere my start date.

I groan. This is all becoming too real. Or it always has been, but the walls I put up to keep that reality at bay are crumbling.

I stop walking when I realize I’m in front of Pritchard’s, the bar where I found Colt the other day. I glance at my watch. Four-fifty-eight. I frown and keep walking. I head to the corner, linger, and then turn to walk back. By the time I’m back in front of the front door, it’s now five.

  Perfect.

I step inside the dark bar. Once again, it’s totally empty, but that suits me just fine. I find an empty seat and smile at the bartender. He’s on his phone again, still swiping. But he begrudgingly looks up.

  “The usual?”

I frown. “Um, I’ve only been here once, actually.”

/>   “I know. Kinda narrows down the options for ‘the usual’ though, doesn’t it?”

I smirk. “So true. The usual works great thanks.”

A minute later, I’ve got a whiskey, neat, in a glass in front of me. I take a sip to calm my nerves and to try and dull the swirling of Hurricane Colt inside my head.

The front door swings open. I glance up, and I blush and roll my eyes at the same time. Colt smirks, shaking his head as he steps in.

  “Small towns, huh?”

“What are there, like five fucking people that live here?”

He chuckles and slowly walks over to me. His eyes hold mine, and I tremble with a nervous, excited, hungry energy with every step he takes.

“And we meet again at the scene of the crime.”

I blush as I bite my lip.

  “What brings you downtown?”

“Lawyer crap. We had to get some of the paperwork notarized, so I was over at the post office.”

He sits next to me, and I tremble a little.

  “What are you drinking?”

  “Whiskey.”

  “Atta girl.”

I grin, feeling the heat pool inside of me.

“Starting right on the dot, I see?”

I roll my eyes. “And what did you come in here for, a coke?”

He chuckles, but his eyes drop back to my glass. I blush and drag my lip between my teeth.

  “This isn’t about… you know.”

When I chance a glance up, Colt is smirking at me. His dark eyes captivate mine as the heat surges inside of me.

  “No, I don’t know.”

I blush, because everything about his look says he knows damn well why I might need a drink right now. And he knows damn well it has everything to do with what happened earlier in the stable.

  “I think you do…” I murmur.

“Ahh, you mean…” he leans close to me. I gasp when his mouth hovers next to my ear. “You mean you drinking has nothing to do with me putting my mouth between your pretty legs and licking that sweet pussy?”

I gasp, and heat rushes through me. Desire pools between my thighs, and my pulse thumps wildly. Colt’s hand drops casually to my knee, and I tremble. I know I could move it. I know I’m not going to, though.

Colt nods at Mike, the bartender, who brings over another whiskey for him.

“Well, if I’m wrong,” he growls. “What are you doing down here, having a drink?”

  “Dr. Watts.”

He frowns. “Right, the on-boarding thing for the job.”

“Yeah…” I blush. “That and he wanted to congratulate me on my upcoming wedding?”

Colt frowns. “Shit, sorry if that seemed invasive. You might be used to being invisible in New York. But small towns like this gossip like goddamn hens.”

“Well, he wanted to make are my start date and availability were still okay, seeing as I’ve got a wedding to plan, and a new husband to spend time with, and—”

  “Tansy.”

Colt’s firm but warm voice stops me before I start to spiral. I take a breath as I slowly raise my eyes to his again.

“You don’t really have to marry me, you know,” he growls quietly.

  “I know, I just...”

“And you can back out. I won’t blame—”

  “No, I can’t.”

He frowns. “No, you really can. Tansy, you don’t owe me—”

“No, I can’t,” I whisper. I close my eyes, and my heart races as my hand drops to his on top of my leg. My fingers entwine with his. I take a ragged breath, and slowly open my eyes to look up into his. “I can’t—”

I whimper when his mouth slams into mine. His big, powerful hand slides into my hair, tangling in my locks as he pulls me against him. His lips crush to mine, and I moan as I all but slide into his lap right there at the bar.

Our tongues dance. Hands grip at each other frantically. I eat crow about every single couple I ever secretly judged for engaging in rampant public displays of affection.

All I can think about is what happened earlier. Actually, that’s not true. Half of what I can think about is what happened earlier. The other half is fully invested in what I want to happen now.

I’m panting for air when Colt slowly pulls back from my lips. He sucks my bottom lip with his as he backs away, letting it slip free as I moan. His eyes scream lust and desire. His chiseled jaw grinds with a barely contained need, for me.

“You know,” he grunts quietly. “I’ve got whiskey at the house…”

I grin, blushing deeply. “Oh, very smooth, Mr. Patton.”

He smirks. “Oh, come on now, dear. Let’s not let marriage take away that spontaneous spark,” he drawls.

My pulse races. My panties grow wetter as my hand slides up to grab the front of his t-shirt in a fist.

“Yeah, I don’t think that’s going to be a problem.”

His mouth bruises back to mine with a snarl from his lips. I’m hardly aware of him tossing money on the bar for the drinks. But I’m very aware when he scoops me into his arms and storms for the door.

His lips don’t leave mine the whole time.

  Colt

We’re laughing our asses off as we trip out of the bar. You’d think we were wasted, but I’m sober, and she’s had maybe a sip of her drink. I set her down outside, and I groan as I slam her up against the wall. She gasps into my lips, kissing me eagerly as my hands slide over her waist.

She’s still wearing that sundress from earlier. And all I can think about is ripping it off her again. This time though, I’m not stopping with just my mouth.

I pull away, grinning at her. My heart is racing like I’m a damn teenager. That’s what she does to me. She makes my heart work again. She makes me work again.

I turn and nod at my truck, parked right outside the bar. “Want a ride?”

She grins and nods eagerly. “Very much so. But hang on, let me go make sure mine is locked. I’m right around the corner.” She blushes as she raises up on her toes and kisses me softly. “I’ll be right back.”

I grin hungrily as I watch her skip around the corner. Forget about this complicating things. To hell with the worry that this’ll fuck things up for either of us, or both. All I know is, there’s not a single fucking scenario where Tansy MacInyre doesn’t end up in my bed tonight. Not a chance.

“I said get away from me!!”

I freeze, senses tuning as I hear the woman yelling around the corner.

  “Stop it!!”

  I see red. It’s Tansy.

In half a second, I’m charging around the corner of Pritchard’s. My eyes narrow as I see Tansy halfway down the block, backed up against the wall of a building. My eyes shift to the guy moving threateningly towards her with a scowl on his face.

He steps towards her, and I’m running again, towards them. He tries to grab her, but that’s when I slam into him like a fucking truck.

“Stay the fuck away from her,” I snarl. I send him sprawling onto the sidewalk before I back away, keeping myself between her and him.

The guy groans and stumbles as he gets to his feet. He glares at me, and then sneers at Tansy past me.

  “Is this fucking him, Tansy?!”

I bristle. Who the fuck is this guy?

“I need you to leave, Jeff.”

Well, that answers that question. My lips curl into a snarl when I realize the scrawny prick in front of me is Tansy’s ex—the man who was stupid enough to lose her. But hell, I could shake his hand for that. But for threatening to physically hurt her when she was leaving him, I want to beat his ass into the ground.

The fact that I just walked in on him trying to touch her at all? Well, that makes me want to kill him.

  “You’re Jeff?” I growl quietly.

“Yeah, motherfucker,” he spits. “And who the fuck do you think you are? She’s here, what, a week? And you think she’s just going to marry you?”

I glare at him. Jeff hisses at her past me.
>
“Yeah, that’s right, bitch. I come here looking to patch shit up between you and me. And I find out from the guy at the fucking gas station that you’re marrying the motherfucking Marlborough Man here?”

I smirk. I wasn’t lying before. This town gossips like it’s a full-time job. But then the fact that he just called her a bitch hits me. I hiss as I take a step towards him.

“I think it’s time you left, Jeff.”

“I think it’s time you licked my balls, douchebag.”

My jaw clenches. “Careful what you say next.”

This guys seems to be on a bad decisions bender. Losing Tansy is the top of the list. But saying shit like that, to me? I wrinkle my nose. I’m not a hyper-aggressive asshole. But I also don’t take shit from people. And I certainly don’t take one ounce of it from pieces of shit like Jeff here.

“Yeah? How about this? Fuck you, bro. Go fuck a horse or something, because this doesn’t concern you.”

I curl my hands into fists. “See, there’s where you’re wrong. This very much does concern—”

Tansy screams as Jeff pulls a blade out of his jacket. He leers at me as it flashes in the streetlights glow.

  “This concern you too, asshole?”

I say nothing, and he takes it as a win. That’s a mistake.

“Yeah, that’s what I thought. Now me and this fuckin’ whore here have unfinished shit to—”

Yep, there’s my line in the sand. And there he goes leaping right over it. This isn’t the first time someone’s pulled a weapon on me. But insulting Tansy? Nah, not fucking happening.

Without blinking, my fist jabs out and connects right between his eyes. Jeff makes a gurgling sound. He staggers, looking dazed as the blood streams from his broken nose. His eyes suddenly harden and narrow on me.

“You’re going to pay for that! And you’re gonna pay for trying to steal my—”

I hit him again. This time, he goes right down, landing on his ass as the knife hits the ground. I kick it away into a storm drain. With a snarl, I’m on him, yanking him up to me by the collar as I growl savagely into his face.
