by Serena Simpson

It was good this difference. It was being so used to seeing in black and white and finally getting your first color television. She moved own until her fingers and her mouth met at the base of his dick.

“Ava,” he tried to pull her up.

“I just want to taste and then you can have your turn.” She shot him a grin before she licked the head of his cock. A small bit of his seed sat there begging for her to taste him again.

All the things she put behind her were wriggling in her mind. Maybe she could have the picket fence and two kids because point five bothered her.

She wanted to ask him how he felt about children but her greedy mouth opened wide and tried to swallow all his dick. A lifetime wouldn’t be enough for that trick, oh but the joy in trying. She worked her mouth and throat taking as much of him in as possible. Her hand worked his shaft as her pussy throbbed between her legs demanding to be filled. His hand moved to her hair working her head until he clenched her hair tightly not letting her move.

“If you don’t stop, I won’t last.” His voice was so deep it felt like it was in the basement.

She tried to nod before she opened her mouth, letting him move back enough that his cock slipped out. Unable to resist, she gave his tip one more lick before she crawled up his body.

“I love touching you,” she breathed into his mouth before she took him in a kiss. Her tongue moved against his allowing him to taste himself on her lips.

“Every time I look at you, the knowledge that you’re with me amazes.” He ran a finger down her neck slowly drifting over the spot he intended to bite. “This is the spot that will join us together.”

“Together as in you in my head and me in yours?”

He nodded gathering her close. “It so much more. You’ll feel me, know if I’m in danger and me you. We’ll have children if you desire. Kur’iks can’t procreate without a mate. There is more I can’t tell you about because we were never allowed to mate. No one knows what will happen five or ten years or a hundred down the road.”

  “I know what will happen.”

“What?” He frowned looking at her.

“We’ll be together working through life dealing with anything that comes our way.”

“No one but you know what our future holds,” he laughed in joy as his hands worked their way between her breasts. His fingers caressed her teasing her by staying in the valley not searching out the peaks.

“You’re a tease,” she whispered husky voiced as her hips made little thrust in the air to music only she could hear.

Heat crawled through her veins waiting for him to make one move so it could flow through her like lava. Her hands went to his trying to move them to her breasts.

  “Patience princess.”

Yeah, she was a sucker, but she loved being called princess by him. Her pussy agreed as she felt wetness flow down her legs. He ran his hands down her sides before one finally made its way back to her breasts.

“Do you need something?” he flicked her nipple watching her eyes dilate.

“I need you.” His fingers caressed her nipple before putting pressure on it sending a sweet wave of want through her system.

“I want to be buried deep within you. You’ll wonder where I end, and you begin.” He sucked her nipple into his mouth using his fingers to play with the other one.

His hands started moving down her body, his mouth releasing her nipple even as he used his tongue to flick over it keeping it hard and needy. He kissed the underside of her breasts before his long fingers began to tease her ribs tracing patterns she couldn’t identify.

“This is the language of the Kur’iks.” His fingers traced patterns she couldn’t imagine a pen following. “This is the language that those who were created formed. We never shared it with anyone else.” His other hand made moves that seemed more fluid than a dancer. The feel of it on her body was beautiful.

“It’s lovely,” she whispered in awe.

  “Just like you.”

His fingers tickled as he ran them down her body. Watching how he moved them brought a breathy sigh when he hit certain spots. At other times she let out soft moans of encouragement wanting him to touch her there again.

  “You’re so soft.”

She smiled bringing her own sunlight into the room. In this day and age being soft was almost like a curse. The fact that he liked, no loved her body was a blessing she would forever be thankful for.

He kissed her belly button before licking around it. “I love this.” His hands dipped down to play with the hair over her pussy. His fingers caressed it before threading through it. He teased her until his finger traced over her slit.

“I like that.” She thrust up trying to take him in.

  “Patience, remember?”

“The next time I’m about to take your cock deep in my throat and then stop, remember to have patience.”

His laughter turned into one deep groan as his finger finally caressed deeper before rubbing against her clit.

“Patience may be overrated.” He took her clit into his mouth sucking on it. He nipped at it gently listening for her cries of encouragement.

She wanted to ground her pelvis against his face. Oops, she was already doing that. The way he made her clit feel had her wanting to cream all over his fingers. They were exploring her pussy rubbing against walls making her want him deep inside. She was weeping with need, her pussy flooding but he held back not giving her enough to send her flying.

“Locke, please.” She was burning up, her nipples were still hard and begging. Her skin was so sensitive that any place he touched sent stokes of fire through her. Her pussy was pulsating begging to be filled. She was on the edge.

He took his tongue and dragged it from the top of her slit all the way down. Her body shook with a little release, then it started building again the pressure.

He rose over her, his proud cock leaking before the head teased her slit causing a hiss of pleasure to leave her. Locke found her pussy and pushed in slowly stopping to meet her eyes.

“I will only ever want you.” He thrust in quickly filling her until he was totally seated in her, wedged in tight like he would never leave again.

Her legs went around his waist determined to keep him close even as he pulled out and pumped in hard filling her up. Thrust after thrust had her moving her hips to keep up with him. He was the conductor, and she was moving to stay on beat. She clenched around him letting out sounds that were music to the symphony he started as she chased after that final note, the chord that would set her free.

Her back arched as her legs tightened, she could feel her orgasm gather like storm clouds in the east. Her fingers clutched at his back as he dipped his head to take one of her nipples in his mouth. His paced picked up and the fire she expected rolled up her back overwhelming her senses. Her body began to shake as she let out a series of yells each one a little louder than the last. Her pussy clenched around him even as wave after wave of cream left her body.

His sank his teeth into her neck, she shook like she was being shocked as her fingers clenched onto his back in the hopes that she wouldn’t be lost in the storm that swept her away. She felt him, the beat of his heart inside of her. His voice was clear in her head as the two of them became one. They were in perfect synch. The mental connection that had been hazy snapped into place.

Ava fell not caring as Locke held onto her tightly. As long as she was with him that was all that mattered.

“That was…” she decided there were no words for it and closed her eyes.

  Chapter Twenty-one

Ava ran a finger down Locke’s chest before adding another one. Soon she was drawing sexy designs that the world would pay thousands for no millions. She was a budding Rembrandt, sigh no one would know because her only canvas would be her mate. Locke was her mate! Say it again, she did cheers in her head as she teased him.

“Again?” His voice was tired as he wiped sleep out of his eyes.

  “I forget how old
you are.” She laughed at the indignation on his face. “Did I wear you out?”

She kept waking up realizing ‘I’s married now,’ then she would jump his bones all over again.

“I might not be as young as you.” His dick had never had this much action; he might have to wrap it in an ice pack.

She heard his thoughts. “Are you all right?” It was tough remembering that he wasn’t used to having women flinging their panties at him and getting as much sex as he wanted. It was also hard for her to believe he was unaware of how good looking he was, forget that he was downright sexy.

“I’m fine, and ready to go.”

“Are you? I was thinking of taking a bath together, letting the jets hit tired tense muscles while we cuddle in the tub. Then we’ll go get some breakfast. I don’t know about you but I’m starving. We can play it by ear after that, but there’s that big hammock in the backyard.”

“That sounds good, but I thought you wanted to…”

“I’m going to always want to. Now that I found you, I don’t plan to let you go. But this Locke, it’s a relationship, not a booty call. That means sometimes we get all close and intimate and other times we get close and intimate in different ways. As long as it’s you and me, I’m not going to complain. Well, I will complain if we have to live in a grass hut. Can you say mice?” she shivered thinking about it.

“Mice,” he deadpanned looking at her.

“Oh! You got jokes.” She tackled him looking for ticklish spots. When she explored his body and hadn’t found any, she sat on him with her bottom lipped poked out pouting. “That’s not fair you’re not ticklish.”

“Are you?” He reached for her.

“Ah no.” She jumped up, flashing him with her naked rear before running to the bathroom. “You don’t get to tickle me.

“I’m coming for you,” he sat on the side of the bed watching her rear end as it disappeared through the bathroom door.

Her laughter rang through the room as she headed towards the tub.

  *~*~*~*

“You’re mated,” Key held his arm out in a formal Kur’ik greeting of joy.

“I am.” Locke wrapped his arm around Keys.

“May the stars lead your path and your travels be carefree. Let your shiftlings be fast and swift and a credit to your name.” They didn’t have an official saying for when they mated. Locke and Key decided to make one up; this was it.

“Your blessing honors me. I wish you the same joy with being of your choice. May the stars always guide your path and keep you from war, ” Locke replied to his brother.

They embraced before parting. Ava ducked her face to wipe the tears from her eyes. Seeing Locke and his brother embrace once again gave her a sense of family. They loved each other, not just those two but all of them. She was beyond lucky to have been grafted into this family.

“Congratulations.” Mira hugged her. “They are stubborn, but worth it.” She gave Tristan a wink.

  “I think you’re right. What’s for breakfast?”

  “Hugs,” Ven told her.

They passed her around the room hugging her and welcoming her to the family officially. Ven broke out the breakfast steaks and she almost laughed herself silly.

“It’s a celebration,” Ven winked at her.

Locke was the first Enigma One to find his mate. She didn’t think it was a big deal until she looked around the room. Although Tristan mated, he wasn’t one of their team. They say Tristan is a male worthy of a mate for what he accomplished, how he took care of them. They didn’t see themselves in the same light.

“Thank you.” A plate of food was placed in front of her. “Can I say grace?”

“Grace?” Locke looked at her before looking at the others.

“It’s what we say to bless our food. It can be said silently or aloud. Today I’d like to say it aloud and bless all of our food.”

“I’m fine with it.” Mira bent her head.

“Please do.” Cade copied Mira and bowed his head.

“Today I want to thank God for the food he put before us. I also want to thank him for so much more. God. I thank you for every Kur’ik in this room. When I look at them or gaze into their eyes, I see males worthy of your love and salvation. I see honor and steadfastness in the eyes of warriors. In life, we do things that aren’t always right and sometimes we even do them for the right reason. There are times we do things that eat away part of our soul, but they are done for kin and country. Those things do not lessen the male; they make him greater. Today, as I thank you for the food you have given us, I thank you for the family you have given me, both male and female. Within them, I see not only my future but the future of the world. Amen.”

Mira wiped here eyes, Ven sent her a silent thank you. The others didn’t look at her, but she noticed they were sitting taller in their chairs. Locke’s hand found her under the table squeezing. This was family.

Ava waited for Locke to sit on the love seat in the living room before promptly sitting on his lap or right next to him. She didn’t want to be one of those couples that drifted apart. He licked the spot where he bit her last night. A smile tugged at her lips.

“Turn that up,” Mira told Taris who was flipping through the channels.

“A local detective is missing, foul play suspected,” The reporter said with a straight face. “Detective M. Oliver has been missing for five days. We will now take you to Chief James who is asking for help from anyone who may have seen something.” A picture of Detective Oliver was flashed on the screen before they went to a news conference that was just beginning.

“We know him,” Mira told them. “That was the detective that came around asking about one of the teenagers that went missing. Is this a coincidence?” Mira paced needing the feel of movement to help calm her.

“He’s not involved with the Shadows, is he?” Ava chewed on her lip thinking of the two men who claimed to be detectives.

“No, or at least he wasn’t the last time I saw him. The teen he was looking for was taken by the Shadows. Maybe they were looking for retribution.”

“Maybe,” Cade told Mira. “It’s more likely they want to draw us out.”

They got quiet when Chief James came to the mike. He was a tall black man with salt and pepper hair, a mustache and eyes that seemed to demand the truth.

“Today we are looking for one of our own. He was responding to an emergency that came through the nine one one dispatch because he was closer. He never made it. His car was found two blocks away from his destination. We are asking if anyone saw what happened to please call us at the number on your screen. Detective Oliver worked on many cases keeping our sons and daughters safe, now we need to do the same for him.” Rapid-fire questions from the press were being thrown at him. A picture of the car he was driving was shown.

“Look who’s in the background,” Locke pointed out.

“Our fake detectives, Smith and Jones.” Ava stared at them. “I bet the Shadows are behind this. They tried to take me and now the only detective that we know who fought them is missing. I agree with Cade they want our attention.”

“They want you. We are bound together, but they hope to sever it while it is still new, fragile.”

“They can’t have me, but we can’t let them keep the detective. We know what they are capable of.”

“That’s what scares me,” Mira told her. “We do know what they are capable of and their arsenal grows every day. All we have is ourselves.”

“We have a whole army of Kur’iks if needed.”

“We can’t use them Ven unless this world is at stake,” Locke walked over to them. “Imagine the street filled with Kur’iks. Humans ignore us when they see us because there are so few of us. More than this,” he gestured around the room, “Will get us noticed. That’s what the Shadows want.”

“Cade’s right, if they can get us to show ourselves, the world will be focused on us.” Kayden nodded his head.

Taris curled up on the chair. “If t
hey are watching us, then anything the Shadows do will naturally be laid at our doorstep.”

“Allowing the Shadows, the freedom to do whatever they want without being found out,” Mira completed the thought.

“We have to free him, it’s me they want.” She kissed Locke when he went to say something. “They are going to keep coming after me until I prove that they can’t get me or don’t want me. The connection we have,” she shifted in Locke’s lap to look at him, “Has made me stronger. That little trick they pulled won’t work near as well, but they don’t know that. That leaves us with two choices. We fight and save detective Oliver, or we wait for our connection to cement and forfeit his life. He’ll become collateral damage.”

Locke met her stare before turning to look at his brother, his team. Her prayer rang in his ears. They needed a win, not collateral damage.

  “Cade, what’s our move?”

Cade smile made them all shiver their commander was back.

“We need eyes on the house in the west end. Ven call Declyn and ask him if he will set that up for us. They don’t need to leave to get that done.”

Ven pulled his phone walking out the room.

“They are not going to make this easy for us. Do we have any information on the traps we have recently acquired?”

“We’ve been running diagnostics on them. The latest set should be done. I’ll go get the results,” Taris volunteered, going to the door in the back of the house.

“It should be up and running in ten minutes. Declyn said if we have any trouble he and dad will be here quickly. Mom and Safire are ready to come at a moment’s notice.”

“Your mother and auntie just like to fight,” Locke told Ven.

Everyone nodded their heads and laughed. Looks of respect for the women on their faces.
