“Good point. If it’s hideous, I might have to reconsider my answer.”
I spank her and she squeals and then moans.
Oh shit. She likes it.
“You like that, angel?”
She blushes, but doesn’t deny it.
“That is so good for me to keep in mind. Now, stop distracting me with your sexy ass.”
I stand us up and show her the ring.
“Oh my god, Jax. It’s… it’s… It’s me.” More tears fall down her cheeks as I slide it on her finger.
“Yeah, beautiful. I thought so too.”
She wraps her arms around my neck and buries her face in my chest. I slide my arms around her waist, holding her close, resting my chin on the top of her head. We stay in that embrace for a long time, both lost in our thoughts and still high of off pure bliss.
Then she lifts her head, getting on her tiptoes to whisper in my ear. “I’ll choose you every day. I promise.”
It fucking breaks something in my heart while simultaneously healing it. I’m man enough to admit I let a few tears slide down my cheeks. She pulls my face down and kisses my tears away.
“Thank you for saving me, Jax. I love you so much.”
“I love you too, angel. Always and forever. Never letting you go.”
