“No, I’m good.”
“Are you sure? I don’t mind. I want you to.”
“Why do you want me to?”
“It’s a turn on.”
“I don’t want to right now.”
“Belladonna?”
“Yes Coop.”
“Can I bite you?”
“Yes.”
Belladonna feels him move at a steady pace inside of her. Cooper bites her in such a way she barely feels it. She dreads to know what he is picking up on her thoughts. He stops biting her. “Is something wrong?”
“No, my love, why would you think that?”
“You didn’t bite me for long.”
“I didn’t need to.”
“Oh okay.”
“Does it bother you?”
“A little.”
Cooper kisses Belladonna passionately. Making love to her faster now taking them bother over the edge.
Cooper is in the bed holding Belladonna. He is kissing her head every few minutes. “Are you okay?”
“I’m perfect.”
“I know you are but are you okay?”
“Yes Coop, I’m fine.”
“Just wanted to check on you. I wanted to ask you something.”
“Okay.”
“Did you have the desire to bite me?”
“Yes. That’s a claim, correct?”
“Yes, my love it is.”
“Did you?”
“Yes, I did.”
“Have you ever had that desire before?”
“Never. Just you, my Queen. Have you?”
“Nope.”
“You will be my Queen.”
“So, you tell me.”
“Might as well get used to it.” Cooper kisses Belladonna. His hand moving in between her legs. He whispers into her ear. “I’m going to take you on that wall now. Then on the floor. Then any other surface in this room”
“You just want to make sure you spend the night.”
“That too.”
“I could get used to you every night.”
“I will remember you said that.”
Cooper kisses Belladonna and lifts her up. Putting her back up against the wall.
Chapter 4
Wednesday afternoon Belladonna is out at the farm practicing with Cage. She rescheduled yesterday to today due to her work schedule. Cage seems to be in a good mood. She is practicing calling forth fireballs. She finally calls one to her hand. She jumps up and down. Cage goes over to her and hugs her. He then kisses her. Cage smiles at her and walks away. Belladonna keeps making fireballs appear. It gets easier and easier. After she is done, she takes a drink from her water and sees someone standing on the edge of her father’s farm. It’s Cooper. She heads towards him. He looks hotter than any guy has a right to. “Hello beloved. I left you a surprise in your car.”
“Flowers?”
“Roses.”
“Thank you.”
“I wasn’t sure you’d see me.”
“I’d see you anywhere.”
Cooper smiles. “I might try that out some time.”
“You do that.”
“A challenge. I like that.” Cooper flashes a brilliant smile at her.
Belladonna touches his face and leans into him.
“He is watching you. I’m not trying to stop you. I’m just letting you know.”
“I want to kiss you.”
“Kiss me then.”
Belladonna leans in and kisses Cooper. He moans softly and pulls her in closer to him. Cooper ends the kiss and smiles at her.
“Are you still coming tomorrow?”
“Yes I am. We are going together, correct?”
“Well, you are spending the night so yes.”
“I am definitely spending the night.”
“I am supposed to go to the club tonight. Do you want to go?”
“Yes, I want to go.”
“Okay good. I am going with Cage.”
“You’re mine. But he can pretend for a night.”
“Are you mine Cooper?”
“Yes I am. You can mark me now if you want.”
“Mark you?”
“Claim me but different than how you would do it.”
“Latin is involved, correct? Unlike us which is mine and yours.”
“Yes, Latin is involved. It’s more lasting and stronger than a regular claim. Whenever you are ready to mark me, you just let me know.”
“I will let you know. Don’t you have to do your party first?”
“Should I schedule it soon?”
“I wouldn’t say that.”
“I’ll have it by next Saturday.”
“You do that.”
Cooper kisses Belladonna. “There is something I’d like you to do for me.”
“What is it?”
Belladonna got the request in her head like he was screaming it to her. “I can do that. I should get back to Cage.”
“I’ll see you in a little bit?”
“Yes, Coop you will.”
“Can you tell him to stop kissing you? It's only going to confuse him.”
Belladonna chuckles. “Stop it Coop.”
“I’m behaving.”
Belladonna takes off towards the clearing while Cooper gets in his car and drives away.
Belladonna is doodling on the back of a placemat. “What are you drawing?” Cage asks.
“I’m just drawing. So, you are still coming tomorrow?”
“Yes I am. Is your friend coming?”
“Yes, he is.”
Cage shakes his head and looks out the window. “Can I ask you a rather personal question?”
“Depends on the personal question.”
“Has he bit you?”
“May I ask why that matters?”
“Mind control.”
“Cage, do I seem like I am being controlled?”
“No, you don’t but I have to check.”
“Yes, he has bit me.”
“Can you please be careful. It can get out of hand easily.”
“I know it can, Cage. I’m incredibly careful.”
“Just making sure. You know I love you.”
“I know you do. I’m not going to get hurt.”
“If you do, I will never forgive myself.” He reaches over and grabs her hand.
“I’m fine. I’m safe. I know what I’m doing.”
“I hope you do.”
“I do, Cage.”
Cage sits holding Belladonna’s hand thinking how natural it feels. He reaches over and kisses her. Belladonna doesn’t let the kiss end.
“Belladonna, can I talk to you seriously?” He now has two hands holding her one.”
“Of course. You can talk to me about anything.”
“I’ve had feelings for you for a while. Ever since we had that talk where we discussed it and what would happen if I acted on those feelings. Do you remember that?”
“Yes, I do.” Belladonna puts her head down embarrassed.
“Please don’t be embarrassed. It was finally confirmation of how I felt.”
“It was the same for me. It just felt empty.”
“Yes, it did.”
“I really thought that night at the club things were finally going to change.”
“They would have if Linda wouldn’t have shown up or you wouldn’t have met Cooper.”
She squeezes Cage’s hand. “I liked your apartment.”
“So did I.”
“Then the next night happened.”
“Yes, the entire day and the next day.”
“Cage, we are still something.”
“Promise?”
“Promise.”
“I love you so much.”
“I love you, Cage.”
Cage reaches over and kisses her again.
Food is set before them. They take their hands back and start eating.
Cooper is at Belladonna’s house looking at her doodle. It’s a decorative arrow with the words aeterna in t
he arrow. “It’s perfect,” he says.
“You really like it.”
“It represents you perfectly. I love it. Now where do you think I should get the tattoo?”
“I have no idea I have never gotten one.”
“I am thinking about my forearm.”
“Okay get one there.”
“Belladonna, do you like it? This is your tattoo. I’ve never gotten a tattoo that represents someone.”
“Never?”
“Never.”
“Yes, I like it on your forearm.”
“Will you come with me?”
“Yeah, I guess so.”
“It’s not just vampires that go to the place.”
“Also, lions, tigers, and bears?”
“How did you know?”
“Lucky guess.”
“No one will touch you.”
“I didn’t think for a second anyone would.”
Cooper is sitting in the chair. Tony is doing the tat on Cooper’s forearm. Cooper doesn’t seem to be in any pain which Belladonna is convinced is because he’s a vampire. Tony keeps watching Belladonna out of the corner of his eye. Cooper is hyper aware of everything around him. He has Belladonna sitting on his right side. She is holding is index and middle finger. Tony is just about done with the tattoo. A couple guys walk into the shop. They can’t see Cooper; they can only see Belladonna. One guy says quite loudly, “Well look guys they brought in eye candy for us.”
“I wonder if she gives lap dances,” guy number two says.
Tony realizes there is going to be trouble as he puts the final touches on the tattoo.
“Hank. Tom. I’d stop it if I were you two,” one of the tattoo artists says.
“Who is going to stop me?” guy number two asks.
“I am.” Cooper sits up.
The two guys cower at the entrance unable to form any words. Tony is behind Cooper shaking his head at them. Tony tells him he’s done. Cooper starts to ask something, and Tony just pats his back. Tony nods at Belladonna. Not daring to touch or talk to her. Cooper grabs Belladonna by the side and heads towards the door. The two guys watch Cooper and Belladonna closely. Unsure of what to make of the pairing but knowing better than to think or say anything. Cooper and Belladonna leave. Tony is thankful his shop is left in one piece.
He opens the car door for her, and she gets in. She looks at Cooper’s tattoo once he’s in the car. “He did a really good job.”
“Yeah, he does good work.”
“Why were those two guys so scared of you? Was it the King thing?”
“I have a reputation.”
“And here you said you weren’t a violent person.”
Cooper laughs. “I told you, you were safe with me.”
“I know you did.”
Cooper drives towards her house. “So, when are you going to let me design a tattoo for you?”
“I don’t even have one. I told you that.”
“Well then I should make it a really good one.”
“I don’t think I’m ready yet.”
“When you are.”
“When I am.”
“I need to go to my house and get ready.”
“Okay. I need to get ready and wait for Cage.
Cooper stops in front of her house and kisses her. “I will see you shortly.”
“Yes, you will.”
“I love you.”
“I love you.”
Belladonna gets out of the car and goes into her house.
Cage is downstairs waiting while Mercedes and Belladonna get ready. “So, Cage knows about him completely now?”
“Yes. He even knows he bit me.”
“Well. I would say he knows about him then.”
“Yes.”
“Pete knows about him.”
“Yes, he does.”
“Sam does not.”
“No Sam does not, and I’m not worried about Sam cause I am not interested in Sam.”
“Sam is interested in you.”
“Good for Sam.”
“I’m just saying there could be an issue with him.”
“I’ll throw a fireball at him.”
“I think that’s a healthy response.” Mercedes laughs.
Mercedes and Belladonna go downstairs where Cage is waiting drinking a beer. “You two look amazing.”
“Thank you,” they both say.
“You’re welcome.”
“I’ll drive Mercedes if you’re okay with that.”
“I’m fine with it.”
It was busy at the club with tomorrow being Thanksgiving. Ava was outside with Roger waiting for them. They are all standing together. Belladonna is in Cage’s arms. He is kissing her every so often. She is perfectly content. She sees Cooper go by and he smiles at her. Ava says,” Oh my god he is hot!”
“Yes, he is. You have Roger,” Mercedes says.
“No god no. No no no.”
“I’m just teasing.”
“Belladonna, Cooper is driving Ava mad,” Pete says.
“Oh?”
“Please let the earth open up and swallow me.”
Everyone laughs.
“Your friend was checking me out. Should I worry?” Cooper laughs inside of her head.
“She wasn’t aware of who you were.”
“What does she think now?”
“She wishes the floor would open up and swallow her whole.”
“She feels bad?”
“She has a steady boyfriend and just happened to notice you. She feels foolish.”
“She wouldn’t have a shot.”
“Why is that?”
“I only have eyes for one woman.”
“Who would that be?”
“You. My Queen.”
Belladonna is on the second floor with everyone. The girls are looking over the banister waiting for the band to start playing. She feels someone come up behind and put their arms around her. “Did you miss me?”
“Who are you again?”
He gets right up against her ear and whispers, “One day I’ll be your King.”
“Will you?”
“God, I hope so.”
“You make me want this.”
“That’s progress.”
“You think so?”
“Oh, I definitely think so.” He kisses her shoulder. “I should go, your date is coming over.
Cooper smiles at Cage and walks away.
Cage hands Belladonna her drink and they listen to the band.
Everyone is dancing to the music. Belladonna goes to the women’s restroom and when she comes out, she is stopped by a deadly sexy man. He is six foot, long blond hair, green eyes, and lethal. “Belladonna.”
“I finally get to see the man behind the voice.”
“Yes, you do. Where is the King?”
“I know you are aware of where he is. He is with my friends.”
“If I was him, I would leave you along for a minute.”
“Well, he figured I could handle the restroom by myself,” Belladonna rolls her eyes.
“You never know when someone might try to take you.”
She now notices two men behind her. “Don’t even try it.”
“Belladonna, I just want to talk to you alone.”
“I don’t want to go.”
“I’m asking nicely to please go with me.”
“LEAVE HER ALONE!” Cooper yells. Cooper is standing right Nicolae with two other men.
Nicolae looks at Cooper and laughs. “Is someone messing with your toy?”
“She is not my toy. Leave her alone.”
“Oh, she is your Queen. How nice. You are ready to make her your mate. Is she ready to make you the same? Maybe not if she knew the truth about you.”
“Step aside Nicolae. Leave her alone.”
“Come any closer and I tell her about you.”
The two men behind Belladonna go to grab her and she produces a fireball. Nicolae gives her an appreciative glance. “Precious
, you don’t want to do that.”
“You don’t want to take me against my will.”
“Belladonna, come over to me.” Cooper says in a proud voice.
Belladonna starts to pass by Nicolae when he grabs her, and they teleport out of the club.
They are out on a boat in the middle of a lake. It’s nighttime. The moon is out. It's beautiful. “Okay Nicolae, you got me alone what did you want to talk about?”
“I know you think I’m the bad guy but I’m not. I’m trying to warn you about the bad guy.”
“Okay let’s say for a minute I believe you how is he the bad guy?”
“Will you listen to me?”
“Yes, I will.”
“Do you remember when you were sixteen and you were out drinking and getting high with your friends?”
“Please let's not talk about that night.”
“I need to in order to tell you how he is the bad guy.”
“Okay. Let me have it.”
“You went away from Sara’s house with Robbie to drink and do drugs a bit more. Everyone else was getting tired. You wanted to party some more. You were upset at the world. Robbie was wasted and he started trying to have sex with you. This is what you don’t know. It wasn’t Robbie. It was Cooper. Robbie was passed out by a tree. Cooper had an in. He wanted to be your first and last. Even if the way to be your first was by force.”
Belladonna is crying. Hysterical crying. “You’re sure?”
“I can show it to you if you want.”
“Please.”
“Revelare.”
Belladonna sees the whole scene unfold before her. She sees Robbie pass out behind a tree and Cooper take his form. She can’t watch. She stops it and Nicolae is crying. “I’m sorry. I really wasn’t trying to hurt you. I just wanted you to know the truth.”
“Now I do.”
“There is more.”
“What more could there possibly be?”
