Helping her up from her kneeling position he guided her over to the large bed. She had to admit it did look welcoming and comfortable, but she had to draw a line when it came to sleeping with this fire giant.
They had to stop this before someone got hurt… before she got hurt. Roxanne wasn’t planning on staying his captive forever, and she could already feel herself falling for him. Just his mere presence had her heart skittering in excitement.
His lips met hers, and her mind fled from her. Maybe she could draw the line tomorrow. With his engorged shaft prodding her stomach, she had a hard time bringing any clear thoughts into her head that didn’t involve jumping him right there.
Daerrin was the kind of bedmate she’d always dreamed of in her sleep. He made all her other lovers seem like inexperienced little boys.
Slowly he kissed his way down from her lips, to her jaw, and then to her sensitive neck. His lips grazed her hammering pulse, and she felt her cheeks heat.
Laughing Roxanne pulled away from his kisses. “You’re tickling me!”
He sent her a crooked grin. Taking a step forward he embraced her with his strong arms and re-administered his kisses. Roxanne was so absorbed in what his mouth was doing that she didn’t notice what his hands were about.
Before she knew it, Daerrin had undone the front of her dress, and she was standing in front of him completely naked. His hands ran down her sides, gripped her hips, and threw her onto the bed. She bounced as she landed on the soft mattress, a giggle escaping her.
Her heart skipped a beat as she watched him stride over to the edge of the bed. A shiver shot through her body as she took him in. He was a feral warrior, who had set his crimson eyes on her, and the reason still alluded her. He should hate her, not want to shower her in pleasure.
Daerrin spread her thighs, grasped both her legs under the knees, and yanked her towards him as he kneeled on the floor.
“Daerrin.” She watched as his head dipped between her legs, and then she let out a gasp as his tongue shot out to lick her center. The muscles in her abdomen trembled as sensations rolled through her.
Roxanne’s head rolled back as he continued to stroke her with his tongue. The area between her legs grew moist as the sensations kept building within her, but then he stopped right as her pussy began to clamp with desire.
Roxanne moaned, as she leaned up on her elbows to glance down at Daerrin. As he started to get up, she grabbed onto his hair.
“It’s only fair you finish what you started,” Roxanne growled down at him.
Daerrin chuckled, but he bent his head back down between her thighs. “Needy female.”
“It’s your fault. You started this, and now you’ll finish it.” Roxanne directed his head back to her trembling center.
Daerrin enjoyed the soft little moans that flowed from her mouth as he pleasured her with his tongue. It hadn’t been his intention to finish her off in such a way, but he wasn’t about to argue with her demands.
Her taste was addicting. It was like nothing he had ever experienced. She was sweet and tart, like honey covered berries. Daerrin couldn’t remember having this much fun with a female. She was so responsive to his every touch.
He heard her breathe hitch in her chest as pleasure swept over her. As he listened to her pant, he slipped a couple of fingers into her tight sheath. Glancing up he saw her head bend back as she arched towards his tongue. Her breasts were in plain view, the tight nipples straining towards the ceiling.
His cock twitch. He needed to plunge into her, but first, he would see to her pleasure.
“Yes, please!” She begged.
Daerrin pumped his fingers in and out of her until her inner muscles clamped down on his fingers. “Come for me, Roxanne!” He stopped licking her nub and sucked it into his mouth, lightly scraping his teeth against it.
“Daerrin!” Her head thrashed on the bed, as her body surged against him.
The moment she finished, he jumped onto the bed and pressed his weight down onto her as he rubbed his hard shaft against her inner thigh.
“You make me so hard.”
She tossed him a saucy grin. “Can’t resist me?”
“Can’t you feel it?” He brushed his cock up against the soft skin of her thigh.
“Oh, I can feel it.” Her hips rocked up, brushing her wet pussy up against his length.
“You’re dripping wet for me.” He felt his mind begin to go blank. She was supposed to be abhorrent to him. Instead, he couldn’t get enough.
He’d never lost his mind like this before. There could be arrows flying around them, and he still wouldn’t be able to take his eyes off of her. He had no idea what spell she’d weaved over him, but he loved every single moment of it.
Roxanne pushed on his shoulders, and reluctantly he pushed himself up on his hands.
“What is it?” Daerrin focused back on her. Was she ending this?
Roxanne pushed on one of his shoulders some more until he gave in and rolled over until he flopped onto his back.
Was she going to end this when he had a raging hard on? Daerrin felt disappointment soar through him.
Then Roxanne straddled him, one leg on each side of his hips. A smile spread across his face as she placed a hand on his chest and rocked her hips, rubbing her wetness over the length of his cock, as her back arched her breasts towards him.
He grabbed her hips to stop her. “Don’t tease me. I won’t be able to last if you keep rubbing me like this.”
She grinned. “That’s the point.”
His eyes narrowed. “Wicked female.”
Leaning down she placed her lips on his, as she moved her hips over his cock without allowing him to enter her wet entrance. Daerrin was pleasantly pleased with this more aggressive side of Roxanne.
Growling, Daerrin took hold of her hips and plunged his cock into her wet center. He was done with her teasing. If she were trying to see how far she could push him, then he’d show her.
Roxanne let out a gasp, as he drove into her. She hadn’t thought he would last long if she rubbed her wet lips against him, and her plan had worked.
His hands gripped her waist in a tight grip as he plunged his cock into her, thrust after thrust. She loved the feel of it rubbing her in all the right places.
Bending over him, she placed her hands on either side of his face and met each of his thrusts with her own. Daerrin leaned up and latched onto one of her bouncing breasts.
He uttered another satisfied growl, as she moaned in his ear, and her muscles milked his cock for every ounce of what he had as they came together.
Roxanne collapsed onto his chest, as reality crashed back down on her. She had just bedded Daerrin again. What was wrong with her? Maybe she shouldn’t go back to her father. How was she going to look him in the eye when she had no self-control?
It wasn’t like she was being forced. She was just lost her mind when it came to Daerrin.
Rolling off of him she sighed. Daerrin confused her with his fantastic lovemaking. He was a rough and tough warrior, but he had a gentle touch. Roxanne turned away from him and pulled the covers over herself. She couldn’t face him. She was so ashamed of how easy she was. He had the key to getting between her legs.
His arm snaked around her waist, and he drew her into his arms and against his warm solid chest.
“Sleep well my little vixen. You deserve a good night’s rest.” Daerrin placed a kiss on her cheek as his hand rubbed over her side in a loving caress.
His still hard cock pressed up against her butt cheeks. She felt the area between her legs stir again. She was so easy for him. All she had to do was see him naked or feel his arousal, and her body responded without a second thought.
As she fell asleep, she wouldn’t stop berating herself for her life choices, like sleeping with the enemy and enjoying it.
Roxanne glanced around as the horse plodded its way through the forest. Stryme and Elizabeth rode in front of her while Daerrin rode beside her. At least she wasn’t
tied up, and she was riding her own horse, but her muscles still weren’t used to riding this much.
This hadn’t been her idea of a good time, but everyone in their party appeared to have a hard time saying no to Elizabeth, so here they all were.
They were off to a mid-day picnic. The moment she’d woken up, Roxanne had headed to the great hall, since Daerrin hadn’t been in the chamber. Then Elizabeth had jumped her and somehow convinced her to agree to join her for a picnic. She didn’t realize both Stryme and Daerrin would join them as well though.
Roxanne was still angry with herself for being so easy the night before and hadn’t wanted to face Daerrin so soon.
Roxanne glanced over at him from the corner of her eye. What did he think about their nights together? She found it nearly impossible to believe he held any feelings for her, but there was a small hope building in her heart that he did. She had no idea where the hope sprung from, but it was there.
Roxanne focused back on where they were headed and her eyes caught on the couple in front of her. Elizabeth leaned over and placed a hand on her husband’s leg and gave it a loving caress.
“I still find it unbelievable she is happily married to a fire giant,” Roxanne muttered, just loud enough for Daerrin to hear, but not loud enough for Elizabeth and Stryme to overhear
Daerrin let out a derisive snort. “Is it that impossible to believe that two people could find love? It may seem weird to some, but they are just two people who found something most of us won’t.”
Roxanne just stared over at Daerrin in shock. She didn’t even know what to say. He was supposed to be a warrior. He should find love just as repulsive as she did, but he’d almost sounded like a poet. Daerrin might be great in bed, but she could never imagine marrying him, having children with him, and it confused her what Elizabeth saw in Stryme. Elizabeth had lost all her friends and family by moving to the fire giant castle.
“You thought their love would make it when they first announced their feelings?” Roxanne shot back knowing he couldn’t deny it. She knew he would’ve doubted their love.
His silence was all the answer she needed. She smirked. A human and a fire giant was a huge obstacle. She found it hard to believe, but when she saw Stryme and Elizabeth together, she could feel the love flowing around them. It was so tangible.
“Here we are!” Elizabeth called over her shoulder.
Roxanne looked around. She might not be in a pleasant mood, but the area was beautiful. Everything around them was so green and lush. It was a different contrast against the plains where she called home.
“Give your reins to Daerrin and join me for a stroll,” Elizabeth commanded, as she swiftly dismounted with Stryme’s assistance.
Roxanne dismounted, slid down the saddle, and tossed the reins over to Daerrin, who snatched them up.
His crimson eyes scanned her. “Don’t try anything.”
“Excuse me?” Roxanne raised an eyebrow in his direction.
Elizabeth strolled up, wrapped an arm around Roxanne’s, and dragged her away before she could get a response from Daerrin.
“I hear you spent last night with Daerrin,” Elizabeth stated bluntly.
“You heard? Are people talking about it?” Roxanne’s eyes narrowed. She couldn’t believe she was already in the fire giant gossip mills. She’d only been here for a day!
“You’re the second human woman to live among them. You’ll be the topic of conversation for quite some time I’m afraid.” Elizabeth sent her a wink. “You’ll learn to ignore it. So how was last night?”
Roxanne shrugged.
“That bad? I always assumed Daerrin would know what he was doing in the bedchamber.” Elizabeth tapped a finger against her chin.
Roxanne felt a pang of jealousy sneak up, but she quickly shoved it away. Elizabeth was a married woman, a happily married woman.
“Who says we slept together?” Roxanne asked.
“The glow and sparks, which are flying between the both of you. You two fight like rabid lovers.”
“I don’t know what my father will think when I get home.” Roxanne decided it was time to confide in someone about her feelings, and who better than Elizabeth? Elizabeth was the only human who would understand what she was going through.
Elizabeth smiled. “I don’t know your father but, I’m sure he will love you no matter what has happened while you’ve been away.”
“I’m not so sure about that. As a general, his life has been about beating back the giants. It would be one thing if I’d been forced, but I’ve been sleeping with Daerrin by choice.”
Elizabeth patted her hand. “I can’t tell you what to do, but I can give advice.”
“I don’t think I’m quite ready to talk about it yet.” She wasn’t keen on discussing her inability to say no to Daerrin and her betrayal of her father’s cause. “Why do you choose to live among the fire giants? Don’t you miss your family and wish to return home?”
Sorrow filled Elizabeth’s sapphire eyes. “I do miss them, but I love Stryme, and I’m willing to give up other things to be with him.” She paused briefly. “I hope this war will end, and I will be reunited with friends and family, but for now, I’ve got my own family started.” Elizabeth caressed her rounded stomach lovingly.
“I couldn’t imagine not going home.”
Elizabeth shrugged. “Everything I had in Arcaern, I have here. I didn’t give up my position as royalty, and I found love in an honest and kind man, but it’s not for everyone.” She agreed.
“But he isn’t a man. He is a fire giant.”
“But he’s my fire giant and that’s all that matters.”
Roxanne watched the dreamy look spread over Elizabeth’s face, and she had to wonder about it. Even though living with the fire giants might seem impossible to her, apparently Elizabeth had carved out a life here.
“Perhaps you will decide to stay here.”
Roxanne snorted, drawing a startled look from Elizabeth. “I think not. Daerrin is holding me captive because he wants revenge against my father. There’s no love between us.”
“Your father? Who is he? You mentioned he was a general.”
“General Johnston,” Roxanne stated proudly. Every human knew who the most decorated general was, and she was proud to be his daughter.
Elizabeth tisked. “I wouldn’t say his name so proudly around the fire giants.”
“Why not?”
Elizabeth frowned. “I realize he’s your father, and you wouldn’t think the worst of him, but he is a brutal general on the war front from what I’ve heard.”
Roxanne nodded. “Of course, he has to be if he is going to push back the giants, but Daerrin has accused him of impossible deeds.”
Again Elizabeth frowned. “I’ve heard the reports about how your father has fire giant villages raided. He doesn’t spare women, children, or old people. General Johnston has earned himself a fearsome reputation on the border.”
“No.” Roxanne shook her head unable to believe what Elizabeth was saying. “I can’t believe my father would sanction such horrible orders. I’ve lived with him for my entire life, and no one knows him like me. Trust me. These deeds are being done without his knowledge.”
“I hope so.” Elizabeth cast her a sympathetic look.
Roxanne was starting to hope so as well. She didn’t know if she could handle the knowledge that her father might not be the man she knew. What if he was issuing these horrendous orders?
It wasn’t just Daerrin accusing her father of these horrible deeds now.
Shaking her head, Roxanne refused to doubt her father. She would get home, and then she would ask her father for the truth from his lips. But then the thoughts of the village she had seen floated through her mind. Those men had been her father’s, and they had supposedly been acting under his orders.
She felt as though the evidence was building against her father, but she had trouble doubting the person who’d raised her with such love.
Daerrin helped
Stryme with tying up the horses to some trees.
“I’ve never been on a picnic before.” He confessed to his king.
“Humans think of some of the weirdest things.” Stryme took a couple of baskets down from the back of a horse. “I wasn’t quite sure what it was myself. Elizabeth had to explain it to me, and I’m still not sure I understand it, but whatever makes her happy.”
Daerrin took out a blanket and glanced over at Stryme in question.
“Spread it out on the ground.”
Daerrin draped it across the grass. “Why eat outside and sit on a blanket?”
Stryme shrugged. “Elizabeth says it’s to prevent their dresses from getting too dirty from the grass and soil. And the eating outside is supposed to be pleasant.”
Daerrin glanced over to where Elizabeth and Roxanne had disappeared into the forest for their walk.
“They’ll be fine.”
He looked over at Stryme who’d already sat down on the blanket and had started to empty the baskets of their contents.
“I’m not worried about their safety. I’m worried Elizabeth might want to help Roxanne.”
Stryme’s crimson eyes roamed over him. “We still need to discuss your taking Roxanne.”
Daerrin felt his spine stiffen.
“Sit.” His king demanded.
Daerrin slowly sank down on the blanket. He wasn’t about to disobey his king, but he wasn’t looking forward to the conversation. Although, he was lucky, he had gone this far without getting a talking to.
“How did you take her captive?”
Daerrin cleared his throat. “It was during a raid on a human stronghold near the border. I learned she was the daughter of General Johnston and made a split-second decision to take her as my captive.”
Stryme nodded. “She is innocent of her father’s crimes.” His king pinned him with a pointed gaze.
Daerrin scrubbed a hand down the back of his neck. “I know she is innocent of her father’s crimes.”
Stryme studied him in silence and then opened his mouth to continue the conversation, but the women chose that moment to re-enter the picnic area.
