Bear His Mark Page 15

by Reina Torres

  The sensation was delicious.

The warmth of his skin against hers left her nearly breathless, but it didn’t leave her immobile.

“Show me, love.” Conor’s voice was thick and heavy, as if it left his tongue like drips of honey. “Show me how you like to be touched.”

It was one thing, she knew, to give herself furtive touches in the dark. Burrowing under her covers to cup her breast or slide her fingers inside of her body was one thing.

To do it in the sunlight, with the eyes of her mate watching, should have frightened her, but it didn’t.

Lifting one hand she covered her breast with it, feeling the brush of her hardened nipple against her palm. A hum of sound vibrated in her throat as her other hand followed suit.

As his fingers worked at her body, she eased down over him. She rose and fell, her knees and hips helping her to take more and more of him with each downward stroke.

She felt like she was about to catch fire and he was the match.

Every time she opened her eyes, she saw him watching. He looked hungry. Starving.

And she understood that feeling, more than ever before.

  Mate.

Shh… she really hoped this wasn’t going to become a thing.

  Mark.

Oookay. Seriously, stay out of my head.

Pleasure lanced through her body like lightning and a quick look at Conor told her he knew what was going on in her head.

And the quick snap of his hips said he knew what she was feeling.

“Strange, isn’t it?” He smiled at her as he thrust into her from below. “The voice in your head?”

She smiled back at him and raised a curious brow. “It’s like I can feel her just under my skin. Like she’s sharing in this.”

“They’re happy for us.” Conor’s hands grasped her hips and helped her set a rhythm, up and down, joining them over and over.

Hollis moved her hands again, one against her breast, one settling over his hand on her hip. “I am too.”

Conor’s eyes bled dark and she felt her own bear rush to the surface a heartbeat later.

Just as quickly as she rose, she retreated into the background, but her message, her need, was clear.

  Mate.

  Mark.

And Hollis was in complete agreement.

Tightening her thighs, she let her instinct take her where her experience was lacking and Conor seemed more than happy to help. He didn’t control her, but she took advantage of his guidance and soon they were building a desperate pace toward release.

His fingers dug into her skin and her fingers teased and plucked at her flesh. The heavy sounds of their breath mingled with the heady slap of flesh against flesh.

Conor groaned and growled as he neared the peak of his desire and her breathy moans teased and taunted him.

  Faster.

  More.

  Deeper.

  Yes.

  Oh, yes.

  “Kiss me, Conor. Please, ki-”

His mouth was on hers, his tongue tasting her throaty cry as the change in their position ground her clit against him.

She wanted to drown in him, let herself be sucked under by the sensations he wrought from her body.

When he canted his hips one last time, driving deeper than he ever had before, she split apart.

  She roared.

Her head tipped back as she found her release.

  Mark.

Her bear pushed forward and the demand she made wasn’t only tempting, it made her tingle with joy. She let her bear surge forward enough to give her fangs, but not claws. She loved her mate, but he only needed one mark.

  “Conor?”

The heavy growl in her tone caught his attention and the look in his eyes was needy. She didn’t have to ask the question and he didn’t need to answer.

  Not with his voice.

He leaned his head to the side, baring his neck and the simple motion nudged his cock even deeper into her.

With a soul-deep growl, Hollis bent over her mate and sank her teeth into his flesh. He shuddered against her, the muscles in his neck straining to keep his position, to let her mark him for all to see.

She felt his cock twitch within her, felt his release coat the walls of her sex.

  It was heaven. Pure possession.

And she was the one possessing him.

Hollis leaned forward, deepened her mark and felt him thrust up into her body again and again, still as hard and thick as he was before.

  Mark.

She heard her bear and understood. There wasn’t a need for pretty words or explanation.

Yes. She agreed. I want it too.

Releasing Conor’s neck, she swept her tongue over the marks and soothed his flesh.

His eyes were shifting back and forth between human and bear, but she knew he was seeing her as both.

  “Conor.”

“Mate,” his voice was heavy with the weight of two.

  “Make me yours.”

Conor didn’t waste time on words.

Wrapping his arm around her waist he laid her on the bed beneath him. He shifted back and hooked an arm under each of her legs and tilted her hips so he could get even deeper into her.

The freedom she felt, pinned down to the bed under his muscular form was incredible. Wrapping her legs around him, she tugged and urged him forward.

  “Mark me, Conor. Do it.”

He surged into her again and again as if he was chasing his own release again. She felt the same building inside of her even as her body still shook from her own orgasm. Was it possible to have two so close together?

She was going to find out.

  “Now, Conor.”

Hollis grabbed at his shoulders with her hands and pulled herself up against him. He helped her and pulled himself up nearly upright with his own strength.

With every thrust he brought them both higher, closer.

And when she felt herself flying apart, he held her tight and sank his teeth into the tender flesh at the base of her neck.

Never in her life had she felt so complete.

  So utterly satisfied.

  So powerful.

As Conor tucked her close against him, soothing her body with his tender hands she let herself fall asleep, knowing that her life had changed forever.

  For the better.

Because she’d made the decision to bear his mark.

  Epilogue

Amos Kent looked at the letter set neatly on the weathered blotter covering most of his desk. The handwriting on the envelope wasn’t familiar to him, but he picked it up and looked at it closer.

The postmark was unfamiliar to him.

  Sylvan City.

Turning the envelope over he ripped the flap and yanked out the single folded sheet. When he opened it under the yellowing light of his overhead lamp it took no time at all to read the short missive.

  Dad-

If you haven’t already heard, the bear you sent to get me is dead. He nearly killed my mate.

That alone is enough for me to want you dead, but because of him, I learned two things.

I’m a bear. A true shifter. I killed the bear you sent to drag me home and he’ll never hurt anyone again.

And, even if he’d managed to bring me to you, he would have failed. The Black Hills are not my home. I doubt if they ever were. You certainly didn’t want me. You never treated me as a cub you loved. You didn’t treat me as your heir. Not truly.

I’m staying here in Sylvan City. I’m staying with my mate. And not only do I bear his mark, but he bears mine.

Try to make me come back to the hills and I will. But I will challenge you for leadership.

  You will lose.

And I doubt you’d survive it.

Leave us alone and we’ll do the same.

  Hollis

  About Reina Torres

Who would have thought that I’d start off as a painfully shy child writing stories and end up as a painfully shy adu
lt writing books and publishing them for others to read? Crazy? That’s me!!

When I was a little girl, I read every book I could get my hands on and if I didn’t have one available to read, I’d get out my pencils and paper and write down stories and scenes. Waiting for my mom to finish working, I’d duck into the ladies’ breakroom and use the typewriter. I’d feel like Jessica Fletcher, happily tap, tap, tapping away until I got to ‘The End’ Couldn’t quite get the flourish after that and end up tearing the paper, but it was cool and scary to sit down and read the book or give it to my friends to read.

Now my typewriter doesn’t clack the same way and I don’t even have paper to pull out of it with a nod of satisfaction, but I have the joy and excitement of sharing my characters and books with people all around the world!

I hope you’ll enjoy reading my books, because I’m going to keep writing as long as the characters are feeling chatty!
