I stared back at him as I sigh, I just don't know what to say "And why are you not saying anything?" He asked still locking his gaze to mine.
"I-I'm sorry, I just don't know what to say. I-I'm shocked, I'm freaking shocked and I don't even know if I should smile or what" I said showing him a confused look, Yvan chuckled.
"Now you know the feeling of being shocked Cass, what comes along goes along" He added as he smirk at me trying to tease me.
"But is that really you Yvan? This isn't a joke right? I never thought that you'd be a high ranking hybrid, you-you we're just a naive kid back then and you even cry at small things" I said as I show him my amusement.
Yvan sighed as he stare at me "Won't you say that you miss me Cass? I am your only child hood friend back then and I am your only comrade when we we're still kids anyway" He said as he flash his smirk.
I smiled and immediately went to hug him. "Is that really you Yvan?!" I asked in amazement as I hug him tightly. If ever I knew that he will be a very hot guy in the future and not to mention that he would be a Delta when we we're kids, I should have been nicer to him and I should have treated him better back then.
I went back to my seat and looked at him still with amusement and amazement "So is that the reason why you chose to believe in me? Is that the reason why you even chose to befriend me in the first place" I asked flashing a smile in my face.
"Of course because you are Cassandra who was my friend, what else should be my reason then? Are there other reasons than that?" Yvan asked as he stare at me.
I shrugged and stared back "Well I thought that you have hidden feelings for me, I mean I thought you like me or something that's why you are being so kind to me that everything bad I do is nothing to you" I said embarrassing my self because of my words.
After saying that, I heard Yvan's loud laugh disturbing all the students in the library. Yeah yeah yeah, show them how nasty you are, you freaking dog.
"Yvan, we're in a library come on show us a little discipline" I said trying to minimize his noise, Yvan chukled as he stare at me showing his amusement "Me? Liking you? What the fuck are you saying Cassandra, tell me you're not being crazy Cass or else I will have to look at you like a freaking crazy woman" Yvan said as he continued laughing silently.
More like laughing silently at me.
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms as I raise my eye brows staring at him, yeah yeah I shoudn't have said that.
I shouldn't have freaking said that in the first place.

I gulped as I held the strap of my hand bag, I am currently standing in front of Mr. Jackson who is holding the door of the car's back seat waiting for me to hop in the car.
"Are you not getting in madame? It seems like you're thinking a lot of things right now" Mr. Jackson asked as he stare at me with his asking eyes.
I smiled at him "Nah, I'm okay Mr Jackson maybe I'm just tired don't worry" I said and hopped in the car, this is it, this is the moment that's making me really nervous because I will now be meeting Lucas for that conversation that he heard on the phone.
I sighed as Mr. Jackson hopped in the driver's seat and then he started the engine.
This is no freaking joke, my heart is really raising right now like as if I don't want to arrive at the mansion right now.
"A-ahm Mr. Jackson?" I said as I stare at him using the rear mirror.
He looked at me using the rear mirror "Yes madame? Is there something wrong?" He asked as he divides his focus to me and to the road.
I smiled "Uhm actually, its okay if you take your time? You don't really need to drive fast Mr Jackson, I'm not really rushing to go home" I said as I make a freaking unacceptable excuse not to arrive in the mansion fast.
I don't want to face Lucas yet.
I heard Mr. Jackson chuckle "It seems like there are things that you need to speak with the Alpha personally, madame. I heard that the Alpha is in the mansion already and he's waiting for you" Mr Jackson said as he smile and continued focusing his attention to the road.
I sighed, I guess there's no turning back.
Since I know that any minute by now, I will be facing Lucas, I just turned my attention to the road.
I looked at the black car behind our car who is eagerly following us, they are my security team one. They are the security team who are especially assigned to guard me and they are my only security team that is visible to my eyes.
There is also the security team two and three and they are the ones who are guarding me but they are not visible to my eyes unlike security team one.
I sighed as we come out of the main road and enter the road that is not being used by others.
Mr. Jackson got his gadget and spoke to see if team two and three is on guard and on standby. He needs to do that because this part of the road is the most dangerous one since its close to the boudary of the King's territory and Luna Canidae.
That's why every Hybrid passing through this road needs to be extra careful and ready because a chance of ambush is most likely to happen.
"Team two and three report and state your position, VIP has entered the east road" Mr Jackson said as he speak on the gadget but no one answered.
"I repeat, team two and three report your position" Mr. Jackson repeated but unfortunately no one responded.
I started to get confused because team two and three is mysteriously not responding and this has never happened before, I looked at the black car behind us and I started to get scared and terrified when I observed that the black car behind us is acting a little weird.
What the hell is happening?
"M-mr. Jackson?" I said as I ask for his attention.
"Yes madame? Don't worry about this, team two and three is just acting a little weird right now. They are not responding but its okay, it could be that there had been an issue on the gadget, it happens occassionally. We still have team one anyway, we just need to be careful" Mr. Jackson said trying not to scare me.
"But security team one is also acting a little weird" I said as I look behind us.
"Hmm? What do you mean madame?" He asked as he try to look behind us using the rear mirror.
"The security team one should keep their distance to us for atleast two meters but why is this car so close to us that it is ready to bump in to our car? Isn't it weird Mr Jackson?" I asked and shifted my gaze to him.
"Shit" I heard Mr. Jackson curse after looking behind us and then he started to step on the accelerator pedal.
I started to get terrified because of the reaction he gave, what the hell is happening? Why are we speeding?
"Mr Jackson what's wrong--" I was not able to finish what I'm about to say because he spoke.
"Madame, please hold on to anything. I'm sorry but I will need to drive fast" He said as he grab his gadget to try to call security team one and two again.
"Last call, team two and three please respond, we need reinforcements right now! Team one has been busted!" Mr. Jackson said in a very commading tone and tried to drive fast as the black car behind us also accelerated its speeed chasing us just behind our tails.
This is freaking me to death.
"Mr. Jackson is there something wrong? What's happening?" I asked trying to calm myself.
"I'm sorry madame but the people inside that car is not the security team one, it seems like they got busted by the Rebellion Empire and I don't want to say this but it seems like the car following us is the Rebellion Empire and not the security team one" He said as he focus on accelarating the speed of the car.
Again he grabbed his gadget and tried to speak again hoping for a response "Final call, security team one and two respond and reinforce, team one has been busted. VIP in danger!!!" He said in a desperate tone trying to multi task by driving fast and calling for reinforcement.
Because of panic, I immediately got my phone and called Lucas, after hearing some ring I immediately talked.
"Lucas-- Lucas we're---" I disappointedly stopped talking
when I heard Lucas' recorded voice on the line, unfortunately its not Lucas but a recorded voice for dropping a voice mail.
"Lucas I need your help, s-save me" I whispered as the voice mail end.
After that call, the black car behind us accelerated as it bump into our car's trunk and tail light. I almost got my head banged to the car window but its a really good thing that I'm wearing a seatbelt and managed to escape accident.
"Madame please hold on tight" Mr. Jackson said trying to protect the both of us.
I held on tight to my seatbelt but we almost got into a very serious accident again when suddenly a car driving so fast showed right infront of us using the same lane that we are going through.
What is that car's problem?!
It was a very great and fortunate thing that Mr. Jackson's reflexes we're fast that he managed to step on the brake before we bump on to that car.
And now we are being cornered by both sides with the black tinted car behind us and a white car in front of us.
I was alarmed when suddenly Mr. Jackson removed his seatbelt and opened his car door.
"Mr Jackson what are you doing? They may be dangerous!" I asked showing him how terrified I am.
Mr Jackson smiled and looked at me trying to calm me "Don't worry madame I can handle this, I am a trained Hyrbrid anyway and not to brag madame but I was a former Zeta so there's nothing to worry about me. Just promise me that what ever happens to me, you should not come out of this car, don't worry because our reinforcements will arrive soon" Mr Jackson said as he get out of the car.
Liar, there's no reinforcements, he spoke like as if I did not hear how he desperately asked for reinforcements on the gadget but no one answered and so obviously no one's coming.
Chapter 22
One's Decision Pays a Consequence
"Mr Jackson what are you doing? They may be dangerous!" I asked showing him how terrified I am.
Mr Jackson smiled and looked at me as he try to calm me down "Don't worry madame I can easily handle this, I am a trained Hyrbrid anyway and not to brag madame but I was a former member of the Kappas so there's nothing to worry about me. You just have to promise me that what ever happens to me, you should not and never come out of this car because your safety is my priority here, don't worry because our reinforcements will arrive soon" Mr Jackson said as he get out of the car.
Liar, I know that there is no reinforcements, he spoke like as if I did not hear how he desperately asked for reinforcements on the gadget but no one answered and so obviously no one is coming to help us.
"Mr. Jackson--" I tried to stop him by calling his name but I stopped when someone came out from the white car in front of us and that's none other than Rex, the King's right hand man.
My eyes grew wide and started to get really scared when after Rex, Serafin came out of the white car with his expressionless face.
I held tight on the seat belt as I see Mr. Jackson transform in to a big wolf, do not tell me that he will try to fight them. I formed a fist in my hands, he can't he will die if he tries to fight them especially that Rex and Serafin is here.
"No!" I screamed after seeing what Mr Jackson did next.
Without saying anything, he attacked two of the rebels that are guarding Serafin. Fortunately he managed to defeat the two rebels but then he was easily counter attacked by Rex who is the primary guard of Serafin.
Because of that expected counter attack from Rex, Mr. Jackson was thrown to a big rock in the very side of the road resulting for the rock to crush into pieces.
"Mr. Jackson!! Stop!! What are you doing!" I screamed as I remove my seatbelt. I hurriedly got out of the car and panically ran towards Mr. Jackson who is bleeding right now because of the counter attack that he received from Rex.
"Madame-- I told you not to get out of the car, its too dangerous" He said as he try to stand, before I could even speak, Mr Jackson immediately ran to me and covered me up so that Serafin can't see me.
"Madame please go back to the car right now, its too dangerous for you" Mr Jackson said trying to cover me up
"Don't fight Mr. Jackson, I can talk to them. Just don't fight them because they can kill you right away" I said and showed myself to Serafin who seem enjoying the drama that we're showing to him.
Heartless bastard.
"Protecting you is my job and duty madame and if I fail to do that, death will come to me" Mr Jackson said as he insist to fight them just to protect me.
I gazed at Serafin with my angry expression "What the hell do you want and why the hell are you doing this to me?!" I asked in a very commanding tone.
"Are you seriously asking me the reason why I'm doing this when you yourself knows the reason why I'm fucking doing this my Queen" Serafin said as he flash a grinning face with his gaze straight at me.
"Queen?" I said as I chuckle "Shut up and lets cut to the chase, I am not your fucking Queen Serafin and was never your Queen" I said as I show him my anger.
"Whoa whoa whoa, my Queen really has changed showing me her sass that she never showed me before, how fascinating" Serafin said shocking Mr. Jackson because of what he heard from me and Serafin.
"Don't you dare call the mate your Queen, the Alpha won't let this slide once something bad happens to the mate" Mr Jackson said as he try to sound unintimidated infront of Serafin.
"And just to mind you, she is the mate and whoever threatens her means waging war to the Alpha and to the whole race of the Hybrid Empire" Mr Jackson said trying all his best to protect me without showing me that he's scared or intimidated.
"I need to remind you that if she dies here, the war will happen earlier than expected and your empire will be at a disadvantage. We both know and we all know that we have the Cardinal" Mr Jackson said trying to negotiate by threatening them using the fake Cardinal.
Serafin laughed hard because of what Mr Jackson said and I felt a sense of conscience because Mr Jackson doesn't know anything, he doesn't even know the mere fact that I am the Queen of the rebellion empire and he doesn't know that the Cardinal is a fake one planted by Serafin himself and here he is guarding me with all his life not knowing anything.
Serafin laughed so hard because of what Mr. Jackson had said and then he stepped forward as he flash his mocking smile and his eyes locked at me.
He smirked "Did you hear that Cass, this fool old man over here is doing everything and bluffing all he can just to protect you" He said as he stare at me with his eyes mocking me.
"Its just a shame that he's doing his best to protect you even though you don't deserve it" Serafin said as he smirk and then he shifted his gaze to Mr Jackson.
"Unfortunately old man, you will die knowing that this person that you're trying to protect is a spy planted by the Rebellion Empire. Specifically, this woman over here is actually the Queen of the rebellion Empire, my Queen to be more exact" Serafin said exposing my identity to Mr Jackson.
"Stop disrespecting the mate and retreat before its too late!!" Mr Jackson said in an angry tone and for the second time he attacked Serafin but Rex is too fast and strong that he manage to counter attack Mr Jackson in that very small amount of time.
Rex bit Mr Jackson's neck and then he threw him to a tree beside me, because of that counter attack, Mr Jackson was thrown to the tree and then he was plunged on top of the our car.
"Mr Jackson!!!" I screamed as I ran towards him and I was petrified after seeing Mr Jackson's blood splattered in the car as his blood is continuosly flowing nonstop.
I formed a fist in my hands and angrily looked at them.
"I command all of you to stop this right now!! It's me who you want anyway, get me and leave Mr Jackson alone!!!" I said in an angry yet commanding tone.
Instead of following me or doing what I said, Serafin laughed hard and stared at me "You're making me laugh my Queen" Serafin said.
"You have become so full of yourself my Queen and you really think that I would fall for your tricks twice?" He said showing me his smirk.
"S
ince you chose to stand with the Hybrid Empire, you have become worthless to me my Queen and that decision of yours deserves a consequence, a consequence that you will never forget, you know I never forget and would never forgive Cass" Serafin said as he walk towards me.
"I gave you a freaking second chance Cass but you wasted it and you chose to side with the Hybrid Empire. I made you the Queen to become my puppet but instead of being what I want you to be, you are betraying me? That's not fair Cass and so the only thing that you can do to pay me with your sin is your own life my Queen" He said as he point at me, his hunting rifle.
I felt how my heart race because I'm terrified having a gun pointed at me "I don't need to abduct you again Cass because I just need to kill you with just a bullet" He said as he pull the trigger of the rifle.
I was left petrified where I am standing right now, I can't even move an inch nor breathe because of the shock that I am feeling right now. I can't get myself to avoid the bullet.
I was waiting for the bullet to penetrate my body but I was not able to wait for anything because Mr. Jackson's tired and wounded wolf form took the bullet for me.
He shielded himself to protect me and after that loud bang, I heard Mr. Jackson's wolf body form as it fall right in front of me.
With his eyes open and his tongue out, I knew that he's close to death, tears started to fall from my eyes as I kneel right infront of Mr Jackson.
"Mr Jackson" I murmured as I carees his fur "Mr Jackson, wake up don't do this to me" I said and tried to shake him up but all I can hear from him are his silent cry as he try to look at me.
He silently and pitifully howled and then he held my hands using his paws.
"Mr Jackson please--- come on wake up, don't do this to me" I said as I try to caress his fur but all I can hear from him are his silent howls and cry.
"I love seeing you like this Cass but you know that its not enough to pay me for your betrayal" Serafin said in a devilish manner and then he smirk as he point his rifle to me. He flashed a playful grin and then he shifted his rifle to Mr Jackson, my eyes grew wide, he will kill Mr Jackson right in front of me.
