"Will that be okay?" I asked, Lara looked at me and then she sighed.
"You just need to do what you promised me and I will do what you asked me" Lara said.
I smiled "You don't have to worry Lara" I said trying to convince her.
Lara nodded "I will trust you with this--- hey what's wromg?" Lara asked and was not able to finish what she's about to say when I suddenly puke right in front of her.
"Hey Cass what's wrong? Are you okay?" She asked.
"N-nah, I'm okay. I just feel a little dizziness" I said.
"Wait are you pregnant Cass?" She asked having me confused.
Chapter 26
Bitter Fates
I started puking as I feel dizzy right in front of Lara when suddenly she asked a thing I never expected.
"Wait Cass, are you pregnant?" She asked making me confused? Me? Pregnant? Why would I?
Won't it be too early for me to get pregnant?
"Suddenly? Why would you come up into that idea?" I asked Lara jokingly.
"Then I guess the oracle is right, you really are pregnant" Lara mumbled, after hearing the word oracle from Lara's mouth, I suddenly grabbed her in her shoulders.
"What do you mean? Y-you met the oracle? When?" I asked.
"And what did she told you?' I asked.
"That you're pregnant and that would be the start of the disaster that everyone is trying to avoid" Lara said as she stare directly right into my eyes.
My eye brows raise because of the sudden bad news from Lara "Why would my pregnancy cause any disaster? Are you joking?" I asked as I laugh at her words.
"I don't know, t-the oracle suddenly showed in front of me telling me that the disaster is soon to happen because of your pregnancy and if I don't believe her, I should see it for myself that's why I came here to see if its true or not" Lara explained.
"And the oracle is right, you really are pregnant" She added.
"My pregnancy will never be a disaster Lara, tell that to the oracle and if she's brave enough, she should at least show herself to us and not to hide in the shadows" I said and was ready to leave but before I could even leave, Lara said something that made my eye browse raise for the second time.
"The oracle told me that you should never ever tell the Alpha that you are pregnant because it will just trigger the disaster the disaster taht is about to happen. She also told me that this time, you should listen to her because unfortunate things happened to you because you never listened to her" Lara said and looked at me.
"That's the main reason why I'm here Cass, to relay to you the message that the oracle told me" Lara said and smiled.
"But yeah, I'm ready to take your hand, let's for an alliance together" She said and lend her hands.
I hald smiled and shaked hands with her.
"And of course its still your choice whether you tell the Alpha that you're pregnant or not. Its still up to you, congrats to you for having your baby boy, the oracle told me its a baby boy" Lara said, smiled and left.
Right there and then, I was left speechless and then I subconciously held my tummy. A baby boy?

I was lying in my bed right now as the rays of the sun penetrates through the glass walls of our room. I was also pre occupied when I came back to the picnic area after my conversation with Lara and Lucas noticed that since I was acting really strange.
He even asked me if I was okay, I answered him with a smile and a nod but until now, I'm still bothered by the message the oracle sent me. Why the hell would my pregnancy cause any disaster to Luna Canidae and why should I not let Lucas know about this when he's the father of my baby?
I shook my head and turned around the bed. Lucas already left early at five in the morning that's why I'm left alone here.
I sighed and sat down "So are you just going to sit, sigh and turn there? Won't you attend your class today? Not because you're the Alpha female means you can skip any of your class" Says someone from the door way.
I turned to see who that intruder is only to see Misty's annoying face with her arms crossed and her eye browse raised.
I rolled my eyes as I look at her, these days, Misty's acting like as if she's my mother when she's not. She always nags at me and tells me what to do when in fact she can't even take good care of her self.
What an annoying bitch.
"I guess nagging me has become your hobby Mist and why the hell are you in my freaking house again?" I said as I roll my eyes.
I hopped out of the bed and went to the shower room to freshen up myself a bit
"What are you doing here anyway?" I asked as I turn on the shower.
"Nah, I re enrolled my self since I only have a semester left before I graduate. Let's go to LCU together" She said as she talks to me from my bed.
I sighed.
"Mist?" I said.
"What?" She asked.
I want to tell Misty about my pregnancy, I atleast need to let someone know of my struggles "I'm also pregnant---- a baby noy" I almost murmured but loud enough for Misty to hear.
"Wait what?!?" She asked-- more like she screamed and I was startled when she suddenly entered my shower room. This freaking crazy girl!!!
"What the fuck Misty! Can't you see I'm having a shower! Learn how to freaking use the word privacy!!!" I screamed as I scold her.
"Don't act conservative Cass, I have seen your body many times but anyways, are you really pregnant?!" She asked.
I sighed as I cover my self with a towel.
"Hush Mist and can you please get out of my shower room right now? I'm having a shower can't you see?" I said.
Misty sighed and got herself out, after getting out of the shower room, she immediately closed the door and knocked on the shower room door.
"I already closed the door if you're afraid someone might here us when there's even no one in this freaking huge mansion but us. So tell me, is it true?" She asked as she stands right in front of the door.
"I'm not really sure but just like you, my period was delayed for two months now, I was also feeling dizzy and felt like puking these days and then suddenly yesterday when we had our picnic, Lara showed up in front of me" I said making Misty over react for the second time.
I rolled my eyes, here we go again.
"What?!" She gasped "And you never told me?!" She added.
"What if something bad might happen to you? You know that Lara and you had a little conflict, remember that she may put you in danger" She said over reacting.
"Misty you know that Lara's still my friend, we we're friends and I know that she would never do that, she will never put me in danger and that's not the issue right now Mist. I want you to listen to me carefully" I said as I finish bathing my body.
"Lara told me she met the oracle and the oracle told her something that made her visit me" I said and before she could even over react all she wants, I immediately covered her mouth to prevent her from talking.
This bitch just do not want me to speak properly.
"Can't you just let me finish what I'm about to say Misty" I said.
"The oracle told Lara that I'm pregnant that's why she came yesterday night to check if its true and its turned out that it maybe true" I started.
"Unfortunately, the oracle warned Lara, she told her that she should warn me of my pregnancy" I said.
"Warn you for what?' Lara asked and I can see the curiosity in his eyes.
I sighed "The oracle told Lara that she needs to warn me because my pregnancy would cause the greatest disaster and that I should not tell Lucas that I'm pregnant" I said.
"Wait what? What kind of joke is this, why shouldn't the Alpha know that his mate is pregnant. I mean his the father afterall, the Alpha should at least know that he'll be having an heir soon" Misty said.
I nod since I agree with Misty "I know and I have been really pre occupied since yesterday because of what Lara told me. I don't understand why I shouldn't tell my mate that I'm
pregnant, its really illogical" I said as Lara stare at me.
"But Cass you can still choose not to follow what the oracle told you, its still your choice anyway and its your baby" Misty said.
"I know, its just that, I never listened to the oracle and the moment I don't listen to her--- everything just falls out of place, everything becomes really ruined" I said as we both sigh.
"So what's your plan then?" Misty asked as she stare at me.
"I don't know? Maybe I will have to observe the situation? I will have to see the reason why I shouldn't tell Lucas about this. I should know the reason why my pregnancy will cause a disaster" I said.
For the nth time I let out a deep sigh.
"I won't tell him for now but I will definitely tell him soon" I said as I smile at Misty to ensure that I'm okay?
My son shouldn't and doesn't deserve to be the cause of any disaster.
Lucas' Point of View
I was signing some papers related to the dispute between the Rebellion Empire and my mate, I was fixing the documents when Eros entered my office with a phone in his hands.
"Any updates Eros?" I asked.
"Its confirmed Alpha, you're right. The oracle is hiding in the east continent and our intelligence say that the oracle recently visited Luna Canidae" Eros said.
"Unfortunately, we still don't know the reason of her visit here" He added.
I nod "The oracle might have met with someone here, we just need to know who that is so that we can track who the real Cardinal is" I said as Eros nod.
"So are we going to the east continent right now? After all we need to move fast" Eros asked.
I nod "Of course we have to move now, we don't have a choice anyway" I said and smirked.
"You'll have to say good bye to your mate and baby for now" I said as Eros aswer me with a grin.
"Won't you congratulate me? For having a baby first before you do?" He asked making me chuckle.
"Yeah right, get out of here" I said as I dial Cass' phone number.
"Tsk, I guess my multiplying skills are better than yours" Eros joked as he gets out of my office.
I grinned as I shook my head because of Eros mocking me.
After a couple of rings, she finally answered her phone.
'Hello Babe? Did you miss me that fast that you want to listen to my voice that's why you called me as soon as you get to work?' Cass said as she answer my call. I laughed because of what she said
'Don't flatter your self Cass--"
'Don't flatter my self? So are you saying that you don't miss me is that it?' She asked cutting off what I'm about to say. I sighed and then I grinned.
'Okay fine I miss you' I said.
'You miss me but you sound forced to say that you miss me? What the hell?' She said and I can hear the annoyance in her voice.
Is she having her period right now? She's being sassy all the way.
'I love you' I said and with that said, she calmed herself down making me chuckle.
Now that's the remedy.
'So what time will you come home?' She asked from the other line changing the topic.
"Ahmm" I said as I pause.
"Actually that's the reason why I called you babe, we will have to go back to the eastern continent today since a tip told us that she's been hiding herself in the east continent. I'm sorry I can't go home tonight" I said.
"T-the oracle? You will meet the oracle?" She asked.
"Yup, we'll have to get her from the east so that we could finally find the real Cardinal since the oracle clearly knows who and where the real Cardinal is" I explained.
"S-sure, just---- just be careful okay?" Cass said making me smirk.
"As you wish babe, I have to go, I love you" I said.
"Love you" She said and hanged up the phone.
Cassandra's Point of View
I hanged up the phone as many toughts cross my mind, Lucas will meet the oracle and then what will happen next? Will she tell Lucas that I'm pregnant or not?
What in the freaking hell will the oracle do?
I looked at the piece of paper in my hands, its the results that I received just now, after finishing my morning classes, I went straight to an obgyne to have me tested if I really am pregnant or I'm just delayed.
And its confirmed, I really am preganant with Lucas' son? The child's gender can't be determined yet since he's just less than a month old but if the oracle is right, it could be that its a boy.
"Are you really not going to tell him? You'll follow the oracle's warning?" Asks Misty whose sitting beside me and we are currently in my car from the obgyne.
And yes, obviously, Devon already knew that I'm pregnant since Devon knows all of my secret.
"I'll tell him of course but maybe not now? I'll tell him if I have all the answers that I need" I answered.
Misty nodded "You know I support and respect whatever decision you make" She said making me chuckle.
As I smile, I caught Devon glancing at me and I know that he has lots of questions to ask me since he also knew that Lara showed herself to me last night.
Of course he's more than curious to know what we talked about. He's a loyal friend of Lara anyway.
I kept on chatting with Misty until we arrive at the university to attend our next classes.
"We're here madame" Says Devon as he carefully park the car.
"Perfect, I'll go ahead Cass. My class is about to start in ten minutes" Misty said, I nod as she hop out of the car to rush to her next class.
I sighed and looked at Devon whose itching to ask for information.
I know what's in his mind right now, like obviously.
"Go ahead and ask me what you want to ask, so what do you want to know?" I said as I look at him.
"I-I'm not really in the position to ask for any information between the leader of the hunters and the Alpha female" He said, I laughed because of what he said. Really? He's refusing but its so obvious that he can't hold back his curiosity.
"Sure, I won't tell you then" I said and faked to open the car door.
"A-ahm--" He hesitatntly said, I smirked and looked at him.
"I can easily read you Devon" I said as I cross my hands.
"Besides, are we not partners right now?" I asked as I laugh.
"But yeah anyways, Lara and I did met yesterday night and she was the one who told me that I'm pregnant. Lara even met the oracle herself" I said making Devon's eyes grow big.
"Lara met the oracle? Why? And when? I mean why would the oracle visit the leader of the hunters" Devon said in an intrigued manner.
"Its very rare to know that the oracle visited the leader of the hunters when in fact the two of them doesn't have to do anything with their businesses" Added Devon.
"Actually that's not the issue that you need to know right now Devon, Lara and I agreed to create an alliance against the Rebellion empire" I said, Devon looked at me with all curiosity in his eyes.
"What do you mean alliancve?" Devon asked.
I smiled "You have to be ready Devon since we will be meeting Lara in secret, not often but rarely to ensure her safety" I said as I look at him.
"And--- you have to understand that being a spy in the rebellion empire means one foot is buried under the ground. I can't assure you of Lara's safety but she agreed to do this for the hunters that's why we also need to do our jobs properly" I said.
Devon sighed.
"Lara is always ready to sacrifice her own life for the hunters that's why I look up to her. She can and will do everything for her empire" Devon said.
I nod "That's why Lara and I are different, I may sacrifice my own life for my own empire but its not for the hunters but for Luna Canidae" I said, Devon looked at me and I can see from his honest eyes that he did not like what I said.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
I smiled "Don't forget that I am the Alpha female" I said.
Devon clenched his fist.
"So---- did you choose an empire to side with?' Devo
n asked.
I smiled "I have always chosen a side from the start and that's protecting Luna Canidae Devon, I still and will always choose the side who wants peace within Luna Canidae and that's the Hybrid empire, I am already a part of the Hybrids Devon" I said as I examine Devon's facial expression and I can see the disappointment in his eyes.
I understand him, he wants to protect me with all his life and here I am, saying that I'm not a hunter but an Alpha female.
"You should understand Devon, you should not see me as the leader of the hunters because you only have one leader and that's Lara who have worked hard and is still working hard for the hunters. I am the Alpha female and nothing will change" I said.
For awhile, Devon did not say a thing.
I sighed "But let me promise you one thing Devon, both Lara and I wants the same goal and that's equality within Luna Canidae that's why we created an alliance together to have the equality that both of us wanted" I said.
"So madame--" He said as he pause.
"Does the Alpha knows about my identity?' Devon asked.
I smiled "Nope you don't have to worry, I still need to protect you anyway since that is what I promised to Lara and rest assured I'll do everything to protect Lara. You don't have to worry" I said as I open the door and before I could even leave, I stopped and looked at him.
"I'm the Alpha female Devon and Lara is your leader, don't get confused and do what you know is right" I said and left to attend my next class.
I actually still have twenty minutes before my next class but I'll just go ahead and take a slight nap in the lecture room since I assume that the lecture room is empty.
As I enter the lecture room, I immediately saw Yvan whose busy writing something in his notes.
I ran towards him and poked him in his waist.
"Hey that hurts!" He complained
"You seem busy" I said. "Is it hybrid related or university related?" I added.
"Are you done with our calculus?" He asked, I looked at his notes and laughed after seeing a bunch of numbers and signs harshly written in his notes.
