Summer in Greece Page 42

by Patricia Wilson

In the Red Sea, 12 divers, lost for over 13 hours, were surrounded by dolphins for the entire time. The dolphins repelled many sharks that occupied the area. When a rescue boat arrived in the area, the dolphins led them to where the divers were, leaping in front of the boat.

As we can’t talk to dolphins, we can’t understand what their motives are in these situations. It is very possible that they are simply trying to help and protect fellow mammals in the ocean, something humans could learn from them.
