Night Surrender Page 12

The scent of arousal slammed into him, no longer a subtle bouquet muffled through layers of clothing. He dipped two fingers into the wetness and watched her hips lift and eyes close in response.

“You aren’t ready for me. Not yet.” Her lips parted to inquire but he continued, “Because my lupine form is larger than this.”

She licked her lips. “Larger? But…”

“Is that okay?” He pulled his fingers out and teased her soaked entrance. “It’s occurred to me that I didn’t make that clear. You can say no, but I’d like to give you that form as well.”

  “What exactly do you mean?”

“I mean shifting into my other body and entering you. I mean holding you in my paws. I mean knotting in you and using you until you can’t walk.” His eyes glowed as he spoke and visualized the fun he wanted. “Not tonight, but some night. When you’re ready.”

She fell back and covered her eyes with her wrist. “I’m dreaming,” she muttered. “This can’t be real. I’m not really considering having sex with a werewolf.”

He silently caressed her folds in slow up and down brushes. If he were to go by the racing of her heart and the flush of heat that flooded her pussy and every other inch of her, he’d assume she was saying yes. But this wasn’t the type of proposition to make assumptions of.

“I love you,” she squeaked. She cleared her throat and slid her hand to peek at him through her fingers. “And I’m honestly embarrassed by how amazing that sounds.”

  “Yes, then?”

“Yes, probably? Could you show me first?”

  “Just my cock or—”

“Everything,” she groaned. “I trust my gut, which tells me I will be ridiculously turned on by you even as a big furry… lupine. But empirical evidence is nice too.”

Shifting tonight wasn’t in his plan, not that it took more than a few seconds to do. It mostly felt strange. He’d never gone lupine indoors, for starters.

He licked his fingers while he stood. Nancy blushed at watching him. “I love teasing you,” he commented. “You’re a mix of shy and dirty that’s fun to stir up.”

  “Mmmhmmm. No stalling.”

He stripped the rest of his clothing off into a pile on the floor. Aside from showing her his semi-shifted hand, he’d never transformed outside of the lupine community. It felt strange to be essentially making a show of things, but he knew that was the annoying part of his brain that was better left ignored.

He closed his eyes and welcomed his wolf forward. It came in a triumphant bound, crashing through his system with an intensity he’d never experienced before. His flesh vibrated with magic and power as bones shifted and fur manifested. The ceiling came closer as his legs stretched, bringing his height up by nearly a foot. The room sharpened with every blink, and the fragrance of Nancy’s perfume and sweat and heat became stronger.

He glanced down at himself. Reddish brown fur covered him save for a darker brown patch that lay across his chest in an inverted triangle that thinned out and subtly pointed to his crotch in a clear happy trail.

Studying Nancy’s every reaction, he moved close to the bed and offered his hand, which was now a set of claws. He called it a paw, but it was more similar to a human hand beyond the fur and soft padding.

To her credit, Nancy’s breathing never fluctuated past the expected gasp. She didn’t run or hide or scream. Her eyes flickered over him as if there was too much to see at once, which he didn’t take as a bad sign. She reluctantly reached out. She’d touched his hand like this before, but this was different. His entire body had changed.

“You’re huge,” she whispered as she curled her fingers against his palm.

He didn’t know whether she meant his height, his muscular new frame, or the thick cock hanging between his legs.

“Tell me what you’re thinking,” he rasped. His muzzle slurred his words ever-so-slightly. “Is it too much?”

She smiled and carefully stood on the bed. Eye to eye, she stroked the short hairs of his face. “You’re as handsome as ever. I don’t know what I expected, but no, it’s not too much. It’s just… amazing.”

He exhaled and relief swept through him. Even after everything else, he’d still had a nugget of doubt buried deep inside him. An annoying, pulsing thought that she wouldn’t be interested in him like this. And had that been the case, he would have kept it inside, even if it hurt.

“Like this, I’d have you under the stars and moonlight. It’s not suitable for beds,” he said.

“I’d likely freeze to death, but I’d die with a smile,” she joked.

He chuckled and sent his wolf away. The russet fur retreated, his muzzle shrank back into a nose and mouth, and within seconds he appeared human again.

“It doesn’t hurt? I worried it would be bones breaking and all.”

“No. I love my lupine form. And as I said, it’s not a curse. It doesn’t break my body. The magic embraces me and changes me.” He scooped her into his arms and placed her back on the bed with her head on the pillow. “Sort of like how your love changes me.”

She cupped his face, but her fingers slid across his jaw as he returned to his spot between her legs. “You don’t need to change.”

He didn’t respond. She didn’t need to know exactly how foolish he’d been before. As if his actions weren’t infuriating enough, how he used to think about humans was an embarrassment.

He nudged her sweater and she lifted it off. The bra came next, and finally, she was naked and exactly as covered as she needed to be for the rest of her life—in his opinion. He leaned down and pressed a kiss between her legs.

Despite the interruption, she was still wet. He traced his tongue along her warm slit and opened her to deeper intrusion. The sweet flavor slid down his throat like a fiery liquor, warming him from the inside out.

He shoved three fingers into her soft opening and immediately regretted that it wasn’t his cock invading her heat. She was so tight his fingers bunched together, but her walls already trembled for him and her hips bucked up in fervent delight.

Above him, a symphony of moans sounded. He listened with closed eyes as he tormented her. In and out, over and over, until her breathing became ragged. He licked up her folds and circled her sensitive nub, causing her to clutch the blanket beneath her. He flicked at her using only the tip of his tongue and her entire body quivered.

She sucked in a breath and he grinned to himself, pride rising and blooming in his chest. He could taste her frantic pulse in the air, and nearly countdown to the second she came thanks to the pattern of her release.

While her body shook and squeezed around him, he spread his fingers wide. He swirled his tongue around her one final time before sitting up, hand still pushing her to her limit.

Her breasts jiggled as she tried to catch her breath, each rosy tip puckered and dancing for him. He positioned himself somewhat over her as his free hand gathered her arms one at a time and stretched them above her head. She rested them against the headboard voluntarily, regarding him through heavy-lidded eyes with an open-mouthed smile that gently panted.

He grasped both wrists in his large hand and held them up as he worked a fourth finger into her slick pussy. Her mouth opened further, and a long sound mixed of pleasure and pain escaped.

“Fuck, you’re sexy,” he growled. It was the truth, but he was also hoping to distract her from the initial discomfort.

She licked her lips and seemed to want to say something, but instead, she writhed beneath him. His fingers plunged in and out, his thumb resting outside her body and brushing her clit.

Though she was drenched, it was work to get in down to the last knuckle, and his every thrust shook her body and made the bed creak.

Watching her squirm made his already rock-hard erection ache. Her trapped body would be the perfect canvas, after all. He could easily paint her from neck to pussy with his cum.

He shook away the dream and focused on Nancy’s fading sounds of contentment. He didn’t stop w
hat he was doing, but asked, “Why’ve you gotten quiet?”

“Thin walls,” she managed to squeak out.

“So? Your sounds are for me. I want them.”

A fresh bloom of pink crossed her cheeks. “You would.”

He shoved harder into her, making her yelp. “I give you this, you owe me the reaction. If I make you want to scream, then you scream.”

She nodded and after a few moments, the soft whimpers and moans returned.

Her legs moved as if restless, feet sliding up and down the mattress with her knees pointing up. She squeezed at him, but he didn’t relent.

Her breathing changed and she wriggled against his constant hold against her arms. He held her still and looked down at her, hypnotized by what he saw. Her skin glistened underneath the sheen of sweat and she shook with unbridled ecstasy.

“Yes,” she hissed. Every sound that followed was indecipherable, but the meaning was clear.

Between one shudder and the next, he curled his thumb into his fist and gave it to her, shoving in until his wrist disappeared. Her cry split through the room, followed by another ‘yes’ though her voice was raw and low.

He fucked her until her walls quaked again and again as if she’d never come down. Releasing her hands, he swayed on the bed, nearly dizzy from how little blood remained outside his cock.

The sight of Nancy’s perfect pussy swallowing his fist made him damn near explode. He freed his hand and wrapped it around his cock, using her slick juices to slide up and down over the taut length.

Within seconds the pressure shot from the base of his spine and he nearly howled at his release. Hot ribbons fell over her breathless form, landing and pooling on her breasts and stomach. Before the last drop hit her, he knew he needed her again.

He dragged his finger through his cum and massaged it over her pussy. “How sore are you?”

  “Very,” she breathed.

“I want to be inside you,” he said looking her in the eyes.

A nervous laugh accompanied her uneven breathing. “Don’t you need a few?”

He shook his head. “I’m lupine. My stamina is endless.”

  “Then give it to me.”

He slid his body over hers and entered her easily. She felt perfect, and he knew this was where he belonged. He didn’t want to torture her with a show of longevity, though. His brain was urging him to fill her with his seed, as he needed to be marked again. He suspected that urge would never leave. Without a mate bond, he’d always wind up here, in this feral headspace that told him to claim her body in the way males did.

His cock throbbed against her warm walls as he emptied into her. He collapsed against her body, not caring at the strange sensation of his own cum smearing across his chest.

Her legs squeezed weakly at his sides and she buried her fingers into his hair. “I claim you, too,” she whispered. “And this time, you’re not going anywhere.”

  SEVENTEEN

Wyatt tugged on his damp hair as he peeked through the blinds of the motel room. The sun was barely casting a pink glow on the horizon, but he’d woken early. Consequently, his waking had roused Nancy, and they’d had a quick morning tussle before showering.

“What do we do now?” Nancy asked, coming behind him and wrapping her arms around his waist. Her head nuzzled his back, sending a warm sensation through him. “Do we go?”

He spun around, remaining in her embrace. She had yet to dress and was standing around in her underwear and socks. If he wasn’t so hungry, he’d toss her back onto the bed.

Tucking her hair behind her ears, he thought through his plan. There was no way everything Nancy owned would fit into his place, not that he’d seen a moving truck.

“Where are all your things? I know you brought more than a single piece of luggage.”

She glanced over to the suitcase in question. “The rest is in the car, tossed into random boxes and bags.”

“All your owls fit into one car?” he joked.

She rolled her eyes and stepped back, yawning into her hand. “I know I collect clutter, but I also know which are my favorite pieces. I hired some guys to take everything that I couldn’t bring to Mija’s old house.”

“I thought you were renting that out.”

“Was. But it’s been vacant for a few months. Once everything is settled here, I figure I can go back and maybe sell it...” She paused and gave him a questioning look. “I can go back, right? Once I meet the pack, am I forbidden from leaving the woods?”

“Of course not. You probably won’t want to or need to, but it’s not like I put a chain on you.”

“You tease but there is no guide to this, is there? I’m sure there are a million things that will come up that I won’t even think to ask about.”

He kissed the top of her head. “Don’t worry about that. Besides, too late to back out now.” His stomach rumbled and he groaned. “How about we gather your things and I’ll bring you home? The one thing about the pack… someone somewhere made extra breakfast and will welcome us crashing the table.”

She looked around the room then back to him. “Nothing to grab, really. But aren’t you forgetting something? You live in the middle of nowhere. Are you going to pick up my car and carry it out there?”

In lupine form, he was probably strong enough to push her car, but lift it? Doubtful. Not that he’d even considered that. “We’ll drive as close as possible and I’ll walk you to the pack center. We can send people back for your things or go back with my truck.”

“Why do I get the feeling my car is now useless?”

“It’s not, but you’d have to park it in town. And walk forty-five or so minutes to get to it.”

She whined and sat on the bed. “One, that sucks, but I can’t even wrap my head around how that’s going to work out in the future because two, doesn’t that mean we won’t eat for at least an hour? I’m hungry now. Let’s see if there’s a waffle maker in the lobby.”

  “Again, don’t worry about it.”

It didn’t take long to find the clothing strewn throughout the room and make sure everything made it back into Nancy’s small luggage. Wyatt pushed on the mattress to hear one last creak, a sound that had become quite familiar over the last several hours.

They got into the car, and while Nancy navigated back through town, Wyatt continued to think through how meeting the pack would go down. He was pretending that everything was fine, and maybe it was, but honestly, he had no idea how to explain Nancy to Reid.

In one swoop he’d have to confess to letting their secret slip and falling in love with a human—who by the way would be now living with them. Technically it was the council’s decision to allow Nancy to stay, the council being the collected leadership of a handful of elders and the alpha.

But Wyatt was certain the elders would go along with whatever Reid decided, which was the only reason he hadn’t explained it to Nancy. He didn’t want her worrying. He handled the worrying just fine.

They pulled up to the nearly invisible side road that was the quickest driving route to the pack center. Wyatt already knew that Nancy’s car wouldn’t handle the loose gravel and deep pits beyond, but at least this way she’d know where it was.

“End of the line,” she muttered to herself.

“Do you like bacon?” he asked, changing the subject. “I’m sure it’s obvious, but the pack is fairly meat-crazed. Bacon will definitely be waiting for us.”

She stared at the road. “Yeah. Let’s power walk to the bacon.”

He hopped out and waited for her to join him. When she went to the trunk to grab her things, he stopped her. “Let’s not bring anything yet. It’ll be faster if it’s only us.”

“I don’t think a backpack will slow me down.”

He took her keys, locked the car, and pocketed them. “Maybe close your eyes.”

  “Huh—”

He scooped her up and took off running. Her arms squeezed around his shoulders and neck and a steady stream of whispered cu
rses floated up to his ears. The sun was up now, but no one would see them.

Only the squirrels would notice the blur through the woods.

  * * * *

Wyatt set Nancy down a few minutes outside of where they were likely to start running into pack members. Somewhere along the way, she’d stopped hyperventilating and had taken on a glow of excitement. A wide grin stretched across her face as she looked around, hands on her pounding heart.

“I had no idea,” she gasped. “Everything flew by!”

“Quickest way to get you here.”

She slapped his arm but didn’t stop smiling. “You could have warned me.” She sucked in a deep breath and ran her hands through her hair. “I thought I was going to have a heart attack. But wow. I just… That was amazing.”

They walked forward, Nancy’s eyes darting around while she crunched over the leaves. There was no way they’d make it far unnoticed, not with the way she stomped her presence. He’d thought that he’d have a flare-up of embarrassment or shame when it came time to introduce Nancy to the pack, but instead, he felt free.

She wasn’t just any human. There was a spark in her that held evidence of her resilience, and a kindness that he felt brought out the best in him.

“Before this happens, I think I should let you know that I didn’t always have the fondest opinion about humans,” he said. “Obviously that’s changed, but in case you hear something to that effect, keep in mind that most of us have minimal contact with humans.”

Her steps slowed and she looked at him. “Am I walking into hostile territory?”

“Not at all. Most lupine are fine with humans. I mean that you may hear that I was once upon a time rather callous towards them.”

“And now you’re breaking the rules by bringing one home?”

  “Well, yeah.”

She reached out and took his hand. The small gesture warmed him, followed by a profound realization that this was only the beginning. For the first time since they’d made the decision to be together, he realized he truly had someone.
