I also provided him with a laptop, bookmarked to this page, of course, so he could follow and hopefully contribute to the blog as well as register on stopblue.gov.

  Comments from around the world:

Almost one-third of you have commented that your families have received dates for the vaccination or already received it. The math works out since enough vaccines have already been produced for roughly one-third of the population. Go figure.

Unfortunately, more of you are reporting the death of neighbors and family members from other cities. Strangely, when one person in the house becomes ill, everyone is taken away presumably to be vaccinated but they never return home. Eli said the same thing happened at his homeless shelter when one of the directors got sick. And that director had a bracelet, but maybe just to move freely between home and the shelter.

Others of you have witnessed entire families becoming infected and dying. Initial reports stated the health officials didn’t know how the disease spread. And when Bryce’s friend died in class, no one else got sick even though the entire class was forced into isolation for weeks to make sure no symptoms showed up. More than two months later and Bryce still hasn’t gotten sick. Since then, the virus must have crossed into person to person transmission.

In positive news, a few of you have received supply drops thus far but not enough. It’s now two weeks into the quarantine and cupboards are becoming bare. Supplies had better be on the way.

How much longer can you make it without more supplies?

We want to know. Stay safe and leave your comments below.

  The Quarantine Dashboard:

Supply Drop Date: Anticipated delivery window – 2 to 4 weeks. (Still tracking to the original date)

Anticipated H1N1 Vaccination Date: 8 August 2021. Be prepared to meet the medical vehicle at 10:15 AM at your residence. (We’re next in line!)

  Status update:

The Tabor Mountain Olsen crew, including the newly added Eli, are all in perfect health. Stopblue.gov site says we’re next in line for the vaccine. Eli’s status is still pending.

The World Health Organization has officially classified Blue as H1N1-B. CDC estimates that 150 million vaccines have been administered to the general population to date and production rates have been accelerated to the point where the remaining 150 million should be available within a month. Yet the death toll continues to climb. They now report over 15 million deaths related to the H1N1-B.

Power has been failing intermittently. At least once a day we’re experiencing blackouts for an hour or more. We haven’t needed the generators but the solar-powered battery backup has been working flawlessly. Both water and internet service is remaining online during the blackouts.

Without the availability of fresh meat from the supermarket, we’re starting to eat into our stores of frozen meat. The top priority for us is to keep power to our freezers. It would be a huge loss if the meat spoiled. At current consumption rates, Eli included, the meat should last us up to four months. We’re eating lots of fresh vegetables from the gardens and trying not to break into the buckets of Survival Rations and MREs.

  Like a good neighbor:

Eli mainly keeps to himself when not helping with the gardens. He spends a lot of time outside keeping the garden and flowers watered and free of weeds. Not an easy task considering buckets have to be hauled up from the stream but he’s a trooper and says the harvest and having a bit of colorful life in the midst of all this death is worth it. But I believe his favorite place is among the apple and pear trees. Almost daily I observe him under one of the trees, a piece of fruit in one hand and his journal or the Bible in the other. He seems like a totally content and studious Sasquatch. Apparently, you can take the man out of homelessness but you can’t take the homelessness out of the man. Even with running water, scissors, and razors he hasn’t shaved that unruly beard.

Bryce has a charming innocence about him that can be very disarming and Eli seems to have taken a liking to him. Maybe it was his silence that made him even more curious about our youngest son. I explained to Eli what Bryce had witnessed and that he hasn’t spoken much since.

It might not rank as a miracle but somehow Eli has gotten through to Bryce. He starting talking again but only to Eli for the time being. Maybe it is a peace offering for almost shooting him on the first day they met. Bryce asks him what it’s like to be homeless and they’ve also been trying to solve the riddle of the shared dreams.

Tucker, on the other hand, keeps his distance and is a little vocal about not liking the added burden to our food supply should this situation last for several more months. For Sara and me, Eli has become just another neighbor. He is polite and helpful and doesn’t ask for much. We’re becoming accustomed to a routine of working the land together and sharing meals with him though we still keep physical distance from each other. I think it is this easy-going partnership that empowered us to react quickly to what happened next.

Neighborhood Watch Program - War Zone:

I can’t believe I’m writing this but I feel compelled to share this next event with you so that others may be prepared. I hope it won’t come back to haunt me legally but we did what we had to do.

Eli was attacked yesterday by three armed men. They came through one of the back fences bordering the woods behind the Dodson’s property. Eli was reading among the fruit trees, as usual, when they approached his house. He yelled at them to stay away and instead they charged and knocked him to the ground. The bandits demanded food and supplies or they were going to kill him and take everything anyway.

Tucker, Bryce and I heard the commotion and were able to sneak to the property line because Sara had been feeding the dogs inside, otherwise they would surely have alerted them to our location and who knows how things would have ended. Eli was being held at gunpoint on his knees, hands on his head, and with his back against a tree. The position they had him in and the way they covered him made me think military. I told Tucker to aim for the large one on the right, Bryce the woman on the left and I would take the one doing all the talking. I counted down from three, squeezed the trigger, and the leader crumpled to the ground. The other two swung their guns in our direction desperately trying to get a bead on us just as the boys’ shotguns boomed.

In the span of two seconds, we had taken three lives. But we had also saved Eli’s. If the bandits would have come to our property first maybe one or all of us would have been lost. It’s not a good feeling but they came with the intention of doing harm and got what they deserved. We didn’t want to risk getting infected, so we put on rubber gloves and masks before hauling the bodies in a garden wagon to the end of our road. We dumped them unceremoniously into the ditch and reported the incident to 911. If the bodies aren’t picked up soon we’ll burn them just in case they are infected.

Tomorrow we’ll start fortifying the fence lines. Sara and Eli came up with the brilliant idea to prune a lot of blackberry branches from nearby fields and use them as natural razor wire.

  Family matters:

As I mentioned in the status update, stopblue.gov says we’re next in line for the vaccine. Our number
has been called. In five days a mobile clinic will arrive chock full of shots and bracelets. I showed the page with its details to Sara and without hesitation, she pointed to a tick box at the bottom of the page. A call for volunteers. 'Are you healthy and well-stocked? Are you willing to postpone your vaccination so people less equipped can receive the shots sooner?' Sara told me to check the box. We're doing great. There's no rush for us. I was nervous about giving up our place in line but she was right, we are comfortable and healthy. I checked the box and hit the Submit button. Our vaccination date automatically extended by two weeks. We’re going to be hyper-vigilant about rationing supplies and protecting our land. After yesterday’s scare, it is obvious people are becoming desperate. But after all your comments about the lack of effectiveness of the flu shots (see more details below), we are voluntarily signing up to be the last in line.

  Comments from around the world:

Last week a number of faithful readers commented about getting the vaccine and shared reports of only a few people getting ill and families being taken away. This week has brought with it a devastating turn of events. It is with a heavy heart that I say all of us are starting to confirm the huge number of deaths the CDC is reporting.

Kate from Boise: “The mobile clinic stopped by our neighborhood last week and we all received the flu shot and got bracelets. We immediately went to the store for some fresh air and stock up on food. No restaurants were open, which was a bummer because we were going to treat ourselves, but it felt good to move around the streets like normal people again. We estimated traffic was less than 25% of normal … more like driving on Sunday morning at 7 AM. Though it was good to be out and about we think we might have been exposed to something. It couldn’t be Blue could it? We got the shot … but all of us now have a fever. Maybe it’s just a temporary reaction to the vaccine. Or the meat we picked up at the store was spoiled. Pray it’s nothing serious. We’re scared.”

Sofia from Bogota: “My mother and grandparents got the shot 2 weeks ago. My husband and I got our bracelets last week and have been enjoying spending time and meals with the whole family. This week my parents passed away from the Blue and now my husband is starting to show symptoms. I fear I’m next.”

Jan from Sweden: “The city of Linkoping has now mandated house quarantines where we once had none. All the local shops are now closed and nearly everyone we know has died even with the vaccine. My wife and I are remaining indoors and refuse to take the shot. Are we getting the same vaccine as the US? Our vaccine was supposed to keep us from catching the flu but now they are all dead. What have they done to us?”

I hate to say it but Sara may have been right all along. Using the vaccine that was projected to stop this year’s strain of seasonal flu might be making matters worse when it comes to combatting the new strain of Blue.

Question: Do you know anyone that has received the vaccine and not become ill?

We want to know. Stay safe and leave your comments below.

  Chapter 16

  Vaccine-B

  10 Aug 2021 – Ruth Atkin’s Journal Entry

I spoke with David Jones at the CDC today to get an official update on the Blue virus. I could have just asked ED3N since she is tapped into everything but I wanted to hear it straight from my successor. He confirmed the WHO had classified the virus as H1N1-B. I asked for an estimated date for lifting the quarantine and he said that was impossible to predict at this point. In fact, the number of deaths was actually higher than the 15 million being reported by the CDC. Washington gave the CDC orders to start under-calling the numbers once the fatalities skyrocketed past 1 million. Transparently sharing the actual number of deaths served no purpose other than to further scare the public. The situation was critical and getting worse.

In addition to the millions of lives lost across the country, H1N1-B has now claimed the life of the President too. The current version of the vaccine hasn’t done anything to stop the virus. They still don’t know how it is spreading even though the quarantine is in effect. The WHO developed a new version of the vaccine and is confident it will stop the H1N1-B virus in its tracks but production has just begun. Until vaccine-B is available in the US, the public can’t learn the truth about the President or all hell will break loose.

The first shipments of vaccine-B are due to arrive on the west coast any day now and David has asked for our help in strategizing the best way to get the new vaccines distributed. He fears it may already be too late but we need to try something. I told him we’d try to come up with a plan if he would send me the logistics, including the number of units arriving, when, and where.

But something wasn’t adding up, so I asked ED3N to weigh in on the topic.

“ED3N how could the H1N1-B virus continue to spread when literally every home in the US is isolated from one another due to the quarantine?”

Several possibilities exist that would be in common with all the fatal cases. But the probability rate is very low. First, the virus is airborne but does not require direct human to human contact.

“By definition, influenza is a respiratory virus, and thus airborne, but I’ve never seen one with the ability to jump from house to house, through walls and closed doors.”

I said it was a low probability. The water supply could be contaminated with H1N1-B.

“It certainly is possible that everyone could be infected in this manner but that would be an Enteric virus and would primarily infect the intestinal tract through ingestion. Blue is definitely attacking the lungs.”

Health care workers could be unintentionally spreading the virus during the vaccination process.

“How? The protocol calls for each health care worker to wear masks and gloves and use clean, sterile needles during injections.”

This isn’t being widely shared with the media yet but I’ve come across reports of health care workers also dying. What if they have introduced a new means of transmission to their patients?

“Oh my God ED3N. What if the vaccines themselves are contaminated? What if the entire 2021 production of seasonal flu vaccines include live viruses that have mutated?”

Unfortunately, there is evidence that supports this theory. I’ve been monitoring civilian social media related to the Blue virus to evaluate how they cope with the crisis. One particular blog has thousands of worldwide readers and they’ve been posting comments about vaccination rates and deaths. There seems to be a correlation between the vaccines and the rate of infection. Those that have remained isolated and not yet received the vaccine or in close proximity to some that have are still healthy. Another thing to consider. No one within the walls of ED3N has been vaccinated and none have fallen ill.

“The implications of this theory are unimaginable. Is it possible that this new vaccine-B could cure the disease?”

The reports stored in laboratory databases suggest vaccine-B has the ability to kill the virus post-infection. And initial test results confirm that it keeps subjects from contracting the virus. It very well may be the cure we’ve been waiting for.

“But over 150 million doses of the old vaccine have already been administered. It’s not a matter of if but when all of those people will become symptomatic and die. And I’ve helped vaccinate a number of them around the base. We’ll have to send some of our people out to see if they are OK.”

  “Terry, do you read me?”

  Yes, Ruth, I read you.

“We have reason to believe all the vaccines in the US are contaminated and causing the Blue Flu. Including those we administered outside the city walls.”

Holy shit Ruth, that would mean millions upon millions are doomed to die.

“Can you suit up and take a few of the troops out to check on the surrounding neighborhoods? Before we hit the panic button I want some proof.”

  I’m on it.

“ED3N, I don’t want to wait to hear back from David at the CDC. Pull up the logistics information regarding the shipments of vaccine-B and all the test results.”

&
nbsp; The first 20,000 doses of vaccine-B are due to arrive at the Coast Guard Station in Tillamook Bay, Oregon today. But it looks as though they may have arrived ahead of schedule and are sitting there now.

  “Why Tillamook and not Portland?”

Portland is experiencing issues with logistics and health services due to the rising death toll. Tillamook has 39 active duty Coast Guard personnel and 26 reservists stationed at the base at the moment. They have remained isolated and not yet vaccinated. With so few doses of vaccine-B available, the CDC decided to start from a smaller community on the coast and work their way inland.

“Contact the Officer-in-Charge at the base. I want confirmation they have the vaccines and orders on how to distribute them.”

I’m trying to reach them now but all the lines are down. Portland is experiencing intermittent power failures and the entire coast of Oregon and Northern California is blacked out.

“Surely they have generators. How could the lines be down?”

I’m not able to reach local fire or sheriff departments either.

“ED3N, if I’ve been pulled out of the CDC to come up with a contingency plan by God we’re to come up with one!”

Do you want me to contact officials in Portland?

“Possibly. How many state or federal personnel in the area haven’t already been vaccinated and therefore infected?”
