Being that Summer was still a little salty about the fight between Alex and Damien’s baby mama, Rain wasn’t sure how she was going to act. Surprisingly, she had acted way nicer than she’d expected, and she was so grateful.
“So, Rain, Alex didn’t tell you why he jumped on my sister in law like that?” Rain grabbed Summer’s leg beneath the table so she wouldn’t say anything.
She’d begged them not to say anything to anybody until she was sure that it was her. Rain was nervous, but she needed to see the girl again to make sure it was her before making any serious accusations. Summer looked away without offering anything.
“No. All he told me was that he didn’t like her. I don’t know where he knows her from, but he definitely knows her.”
Fallon looked confused. “That’s crazy.”
“It is.” Rain looked down at her phone as it vibrated across the table.
It was Love. “Hey Kota, what’s up?”
He told her he was about to go play basketball with some of his friends and wanted her to pick him up in a few hours. After telling him that she would come through once they left the restaurant, they hung up. She stayed with Fallon, talking about any and everything. Fallon told them all about her husband and the girl he had pregnant.
Summer and Rain both were shocked to hear something like that, and they expressed as much. Fallon told them that she had talked to the girl, but had yet to tell her about the disease. Summer and Rain both encouraged her to tell the girl so that she could get tested. It took a lot of convincing and option weighing, but she eventually saw things their way.
“What you about to do now?” Rain asked Fallon, as they walked out of the restaurant.
“I don’t know, girl. Jazz is with Drake, so I’m free for a few hours. What y’all about to do?”
“Go pick Dakota up from the basketball court.”
“Oh okay, well I’m about to head over my sister in law’s house for a minute. Call me when you get home and I’ll come through and chill with you and my brother for a while.”
“Okay.” Rain hugged her followed by Summer, before they all walked away.
When they got into the car and pulled away, Summer looked at Rain. “I don’t know why you don’t just tell that damn girl that her sister in law is a psycho.”
“Because, Summer, I need to make sure it’s her. All I did was hear her voice. I never saw her face. I can’t go around accusing the girl if that ain’t for real.”
“I can understand that, Rain, but if it’s a possibility, somebody needs to look into that. She can’t be out here roaming around like she ain’t tried to kill you twice.”
“I know.” Rain was quiet.
“I don’t know why you don’t just go over her house with Fallon one day and see. If it is her, she’ll probably give her own self away. She probably won’t even be able to see straight if you walked up on her ass.”
Rain laughed. “I’ll think about it.”
“You better before I invite them over my house. You already know I’ll pop it off on her ass.”
“I know, Summer.” Rain looked out the window as she drove towards the park where Dakota was playing basketball.
“Jacorey said he was out here too.”
Rain looked at Summer and smiled. “Oh, I forgot that’s bae now.”
Summer blushed. “Girl, please, that’s been bae, he just didn’t know it.”
The girls looked in the mirror, making sure they looked fine when Rain parked the truck at the park. Once they were sure they were put together, they got out and walked toward the basketball court. Rain spotted Love immediately. He was shirtless and had just shot the ball.
“Why these niggas ain’t got no shirts on? All these lil bitches standing around looking at ’em.” Summer had her nose turned up.
“I don’t know, but they sholl need to put one on.”
When they got to the gate, they walked in and took a seat on the bleachers. Rain noticed that one of the girls who was already sitting in there was the girl who had been in the park that day with Unique and the rest of Love’s friends. She still didn’t know who she was, but she never smiled or spoke, so neither did Rain. As they took their seats, the men on the court looked in their direction, some staring a lot longer than they should have.
“Aye, time out,” Jacorey yelled, as he walked over to the bleachers the girls was sitting on.
He had the ball tucked under his arm as he walked over to Summer, dripping with sweat. He leaned over her with his lips tooted up. She leaned up to meet him halfway and poked hers out as well. They made a loud kissing noise when their lips met.
“What I told you about these tight ass dresses?” Jacorey pinched her cheek.
“You the one to talk out here with your shirt off letting these lil hoes look at you. What’s up with that?”
Jacorey laughed as Love walked over to them. “It’s called shirts and skins, bae. The other team is shirts, we’re skin.”
Summer and Rain both laughed at their ignorance. “Well, next time you need to be a damn shirt.”
“Dakota too.” Rain snaked her neck.
“Man, take y’all asses back to the car.” Jacorey laughed and walked back onto the court.
Love grabbed the bottom of Rain’s face and kissed her mouth hard. “You staying out here until I finish?”
“Yeah. How long you got?”
“About another twenty minutes.”
Rain nodded. “Yeah. We staying.”
“Cool.” Love turned to walk away and went back to his game.
Rain and Summer sat back on the bleachers laughing. They watched their men run up and down the court for a little over twenty minutes before they were done. Rain watched all the men begin gathering their things as she and Summer stood to their feet. Damien walked over to Rain and gave her and Summer a quick side hug.
“Man, y’all friend be tripping,” he said quietly, as he handed Rain his phone to hold while he put his shirt and sweatpants on over his basketball shorts.
“Why you say that?” Rain asked.
“He won’t answer my calls or nothing.”
“What you do?” Summer asked.
Damien was about to answer, but Love and Jacorey walked up. “Aight then, y’all.” Damien dapped his boys up before walking away.
“Ready, baby doll?”
“I sure am, with your sexy self.” Rain wrapped one of her arms around his waist and was about to push his hair out of his face with the other one when she realized she was still holding Damien’s phone. “Oh dang. Here. Go give Damien his phone.”
Love grabbed Damien’s phone and walked back over to where he was. He was sitting down putting his shoes on so he sat it on the bleacher next to him and walked back toward Rain, Summer, and Jacorey.
They were walking to the car when Rain noticed a girl who looked a lot like Damien’s baby mama walking across the grass and headed in their direction. Fallon walking closely behind her gave it away that it was indeed her. Rain’s heart began to speed up as they got closer. When she was in clear enough view, Rain could see the scowl on her face.
Rain turned her head for a minute before forcing herself to look back at her. She needed to know whether or not this was the girl who had been attacking her.
“Nah, lil mama, stay right where you at,” she yelled before she could get to Rain.
Rain looked around to make sure she was talking to her.
“You, bitch,” she pointed her finger at Rain.
Summer turned around and looked at Rain before looking back at the girl then back at Rain again. “Is she talking to you?” she asked loud enough for Iesha to hear her.
“She knows who I’m talking to.” By now, Iesha was only a few feet away.
“Esha, who you talking to?” Fallon’s voice could be heard as she tried to keep up with Iesha.
Behind her and next to Fallon was the girl that Rain recognized from the park that day. She was smirking, which led Rain to the conclusion that she had called
Damien’s baby mama up there for whatever reason.
“Yo, bae, why the fuck this chick checking for you?” Love asked, totally disregarding the fact that Fallon was with her.
Rain shrugged. She didn’t know how this was about to play out because for one she had no idea why she was even bothering her. After the first time she’d yelled, Rain realized that she was indeed the one who had been in her house that night.
“Rain, who is this bitch?” Summer had walked away from Jacorey and was now standing next to Rain.
“That’s her,”
Summer looked at Rain then back to the big red headed girl in front of them. “Her, as in Damien’s baby mama?” she whispered.
Rain nodded.
“Oh I got something for this hoe if she think she want it with you.” Summer crossed her arms over her chest and waited for Iesha, Fallon, and the other girl to walk up on them.
“Your name is Goddess right?” Iesha stopped directly in front of Rain.
“Yeah. Why?”
Iesha pointed her finger in Rain’s face. “I’ve been waiting on your ass.”
Summer slapped Iesha’s finger out of Rain’s face just as quick as she had put it up there.
Iesha looked at her like she wanted to jump bad, but smirked instead.
“If you’ve been waiting on her, then I’ve been waiting on your ass too. The fuck you in my lil sister face for?”
“Yo, Iesha, what the fuck you doing, sis?” Fallon grabbed her arm, but she snatched it away and looked back at Summer.
“Check this out, bitch, don’t put your hands on me. This is between me and this lil hoe, but you can most definitely get the shit too if you want it.”
“What’s between us? I don’t even know you.” Rain spoke up as Love grabbed her arm.
She looked back at him and shook her head. “Hold on. I’m good.”
He gave her a stern look before letting her arm go again. Rain could see Damien walking toward them, but she turned around anyway. She looked at Iesha, waiting on her to state her issue.
“You know what I don’t like? I don’t like when bitches fucking with your nigga and when you confront they ass they have the nerve to play dumb.” Iesha told the short girl that had obviously called her up there.
“First of all, bitch, my sister don’t want your lil nigga, believe that. She has her own. So before you run up on an ass whooping you don’t want, I advise you to consult with your man because I’m two seconds off punching your ass in the mouth.”
Fallon stepped up next to Iesha. “Fucking your nigga? Who’s fuckin’ him? I know you ain’t drag me up here with you on no bullshit. You know I don’t even do mess like this.”
Iesha rolled her eyes at Fallon and turned her attention back to Summer and Rain. “If she don’t want him, why her number all in his phone? Text messages and pictures and shit?”
“Rain, what the fuck she talking about?” Love stepped next to her. “And Fallon what the fuck your home girl got going on?”
“Fallon, ain’t this your brother?” Iesha looked at her.
“Yes. But that ain’t what we talking about right now. What the fuck are you in Rain’s face for?”
“You know this bitch?” Iesha pointed her finger in Rain’s face again, trying to be messy.
Little did she know Summer was not the one to try. She pushed Iesha backwards as hard as she could with one arm, causing her to stumble.
“Whoa, calm down lil heavyweight.” Jacorey grabbed her in a bear hug from behind.
“Nah, let me go, because if she thinks she’s about to fuck with my sister she got me fucked up.”
“Summer, your ass is a teacher. Chill out. We ain’t gon let nothing happen to Rain.” Jacorey looked at Iesha as he spoke the words so she would know he was serious.
“You said I been fucking with your nigga? Since when?” Rain looked at Iesha.
“Man, what the fuck is going on?” Damien walked up. “Iesha, take your ass home.”
“Not until I set your bitch straight.”
“Aye, shawty, don’t keep calling my girl out her name. I don’t have a problem slapping your big ass.”
Iesha laughed. “Oh, so this your girl, huh? Well why she been fucking with my nigga?” She snaked her neck with her hands on her hips.
“What? Rain ain’t been fucking with Damien, girl. That’s my brother’s wife.” Fallon stepped around so that she could see Iesha’s face.
“Well, it looks like me and your brother are both getting cheated on because this is the same hoe Damien been cheating on me with for months now.”
Rain held her head in her hands. “Oh my God. This can’t be happening. Not now.” Rain sighed.
Love turned and looked at Rain before turning around and punching Damien in the mouth. He did it all in such a quick movement, no one could have stopped them if they’d tried.
“Dakota, no,” Fallon lunged after him at the same time Iesha did.
Iesha slapped Love hard across his face, only to receive a quick punch to the side of her head. Rain wasn’t a fighter, but she sure as hell wasn’t about to let this bitch hit on Love like she was crazy.
“Man, what the hell is going on?” Fallon stood between Dakota and Damien with her arms stretched out toward both of them. She used her body to create a barrier between the two of them in an attempt to deescalate the situation. “Where is all of this coming from?”
“This crazy ass girl thinks I’ve been sleeping with Damien or something of that nature because her psychotic ass has been after me for weeks now.”
“You have, bitch. I have proof. Don’t try to act innocent now.” Iesha snatched Damien’s phone out of his hand before he could react. He reached for it as quick as he could, but she stepped out of his reach. Once she turned her back she scrolled through his call log and there were two outgoing calls to Goddess.
“See, look. He just called her not even a whole hour ago.” Iesha pushed the phone toward Love so that he could see the screen.
Love’s face frowned into a deeper scowl as he looked at the screen of Damien’s phone. His eyes narrowed before he balled his fist up and turned around, lunging toward Damien again. He landed on top of him and began to punch him in the face. Jacorey and Fallon rushed to pull the two apart. It took a great deal of effort, but they were finally able to separate the two. Damien stood wiping his mouth while Love breathed in and out harshly.
Rain stepped towards him and grabbed both of his forearms. “Dakota, stop. I have not been sleeping with Damien. This girl is crazy. She’s the one that’s been attacking me, Dakota. I swear I’m not lying.”
“How do you know?” He was still angry, but he was listening.
“I know her voice.”
“Damn right I’ve been hitting your scandalous ass up. I warned you several times, but you refused to take heed to my notes, so I had to show you I wasn’t playing. Sorry about that cute little house. I didn’t mean to burn it down, but hey, shit happens.” She laughed hysterically. “Oh, and that pretty ass Mustang. Sorry about that too.” She looked at her nails as if checking the polish on them and snickered to herself. “Y’all bitches play crazy, but I’m crazy for real.”
Iesha was still laughing when she hit the ground. Love stepped over her and slapped her again before she had the chance to recover from the first slap.
“Aye, my nigga, get up off of her.” Damien pulled Love’s arm.
Love spun around and pushed him off of him. “You knew about this bitch doing all of this shit?”
“My nigga, I don’t know shit about what the fuck she’s talking about.”
“All the shit that has been happening to Rain, she just said that she is the one that has been doing it, and you’re telling me you didn’t know? This your bitch ain’t it?”
Damien stood there looking like he’d just lost all the breath in his body. “For real? Iesha, you did that shit?”
Iesha stood from the ground and looked at him. “I sure as hell did. You shouldn’t have been fuck
ing around on me. I told you to leave her alone.”
Damien sighed and shook his head. “Iesha…”
“Rain, you been kicking it with this nigga?”
Rain said no over and over, but Love didn’t look like he believed her. She even looked at Damien for help, waiting on him to say something, but when he didn’t, she turned back to Dakota and shook her head no again. “No. I told you that already. I’ve never dealt with Damien a day in my life. I only see him when he’s around you. No other time.”
“She’s lying.”
“No, I’m not!” Rain yelled at Iesha.
“Then why did he show me pictures of you? Told me about you writing books and shit? Yeah, I know all about you.”
“What? Damien, why would you do that?” Summer asked.
Damien looked around, looking like a lost puppy. All eyes were on him waiting for an answer. He looked like he was on the verge of passing out as he looked at everyone. He took a deep breath and looked away before looking back at her.
“Because it’s true.”
“The fuck? No it ain’t!” Rain yelled.
“It was only a few times, but it is true. My bad, Love, man. It wasn’t serious, just some casual shit.”
“Damien! Why are you lying? Just stop.” Rain swung at him and slapped the bottom half of his chin.
Love looked at Rain with anger in his eyes before jumping back on Damien. He was beating his ass again until Jacorey pulled them apart. Rain was so frantic that all she kept screaming was the he was lying. She didn’t want to put Alex’s business out, but she refused to allow Damien to mess up her happy home.
“He’s lying. It’s not me he’s fucking, Dakota. I promise. It’s not me.” Rain grabbed Love’s arm once he was back on his feet away from Damien.
He snatched away from her and took off walking. Jacorey followed behind him before she got the chance to tell him the truth. Rain looked at Damien with eyes that could kill.
