  Author’s Note

This was a tough one. Some readers figured out who Magraval was in book 1 which caused me to consider changing it. I didn’t want the story to be too predictable, but if I changed it then a lot of the clues wouldn’t have made much sense.

I decided that to change it after people had figured it out would be cheating. I think that a big part of mysteries is coming up with your theories and then waiting to see if you’re right. Hopefully, if you are one of the readers who guessed right, then you got a great pay off when it was revealed. If you didn’t guess who Magraval was then I hope you enjoyed the twist.

In the end the only change I made was to have a couple of the characters figure out the truth too. It didn’t seem feasible that for nobody to put the pieces together. Especially when there’s characters as smart as Dorian knocking around.

The next book will be called Kill Them All. I’ve already got the main plan written down and will start writing on November 1st. There was a big gap between Blood Bound and The Devil You Know, and I’d like a much shorter gap this time.

Anyway, thank you for continuing to read my work and Jacob’s next challenge will be out soon.

  Until next time,

  Sean

  Acknowledgments

I would like to thank my amazing beta team and I’d like to apologise for the state of the manuscript I sent you all to read. It was probably the messiest I’ve ever sent out. You all gave me fantastic feedback and found some rather embarrassing plot holes that I’d missed.

Thank you to Kendra Wray who provided me with invaluable notes that led to some pretty big changes. The book is considerably better thanks to your notes.

And thank you to my anonymous editor who really tidied up the whole thing.

No thanks are owed to my cat, Molly, who tried her best to delay the release of this book by giving birth to 4 kittens. That was very inconsiderate.

  About the Author

Sean Stone lives in Kent, England with his cat Molly who does nothing but distract him and decrease his productivity. Seriously, without her you’d get books a lot faster. He currently works as a lab tech by day, but would very much like to stop doing that.

He also wrote the Eddie Lancaster Series, and the Cedarstone Chronicles. He loves talking to his readers and can be reached on Facebook, Instagram, and via email through his website seanstonewriter.com.
