"What do you want me to do with the guy in my trunk?" Roger wondered.

"Would it be too much trouble to care for him until he awakens?" Mark requested.

Roger cringed. "I could, but what if he wakes up?"

"If Smith has forced him to fall asleep then I don't believe he'll awaken until Smith lifts the command," Mark explained.

Roger sighed, but gave a nod. "Sure thing. I'll bring him around to the house tomorrow if he's still asleep."

Roger drove us to our home and we stumbled into the house weary, worn, wasted, and just a little bit tired. I directed my feet toward the stairs, but Mark paused and turned left. The library door was ajar and a stream of light washed over us. He strode over with me behind him and we caught voices coming from inside the room.

"I thank you for going to such a risk," we heard Mrs. Fuller's voice say to someone.

"It is my last gift to him," Smith's voice replied.

Mark opened the door to find the his mom and Smith standing facing near each other. Mrs. Fuller scowled at her son. "Have I not taught you to knock before entering?" she scolded him.

"We heard voices-" Mark began, but his mother interrupted him.

"Yes, Smith was just telling me of what had happened at the Foundation. You were very reckless to face Morgan with such a flimsy plan," she told him.

"We had very little time, but all's well that ends well," Mark argued.

Mrs. Fuller sighed, but the corners of her mouth twitched up. "I suppose so, but you must thank Smith here for his assistance. Without him you would not have the proof you need to show your friend has lost his memory," she replied. Mark and my eyes widened and our faces paled. The proof to show Johnny now had amnesia. We didn't have anything like that to show the rest of the Foundation members. Mrs. Fuller chuckled. "I see you don't know what I'm speaking about. Mr. Smith, would you like to do the honors?" she asked him.

Smith picked up a couple of VHS tapes from the desk and handed them to Mark. I looked over Mark's shoulder, but there was nothing special about them. "Recordable tapes? How is that going to help us?" I asked him.

"They are the security footage of Smith mesmerizing your friend and removing him from the building, and also of Morgan admitting he would kill your friend to satisfy his revenge on your father," Mrs. Fuller explained.

Mark looked to Smith in a mixture of awe and gratefulness. "You were the one to start the fire in Morgan's office. To burn the letter?" he guessed.

Smith bowed his head. "Yes. Your father saved my life many times. It was the least I could repay him."

"So what do we do with these tapes, and with Johnny?" I spoke up.

"I will take them to the Foundation board members tomorrow and show them that Morgan is unfit to lead us," Mark told me. "Then I'm sure they will allow your friend to return to his life whenever one of the members 'stumbles' on his body outside the Foundation building."

I sighed in relief and plopped myself down in a nearby chair. "So break time now?"

Mark smiled and nodded. "Yes, hopefully for a long time," he replied.

Smith strode through our little group and toward the door. He paused at the entrance and half-turned to us with a slight grin on his lips. "If you find you need me you will know where I can be found," he informed us.

"We'll try to keep ourselves out of trouble for a few years," Mark promised. Smith bowed his head and swept from the room. Mark handed the tapes to his mom. "If you would put these in the safe until tomorrow," he requested.

"Certainly. You need time alone to tell her," Mrs. Fuller returned. I raised my head and glanced between them, but his mom quickly left.

"Tell me what?" I asked him.

Mark moved to kneel down in front of me and clasped my hands in his. "Have you always wanted to be a mother?" he asked me.

"I-I guess, if I met the right man. Why?" I wondered.

"Because last night was very eventful for us," he explained.

My mouth slowly dropped open as it dawned on me to what he was referring. Mark set his hand on my stomach and grinned. "Let us hope our child isn't as much trouble as you," he teased.

I glared at him. "You mean you," I corrected him.

He shook his head. "I'm sure you're the more troublesome of us," he countered.

"I beg to-" Mark caught my lips in a long, hard kiss, and when he pulled away my cheeks burned with my blushing. "T-that's cheating," I argued.

"All is fair in love and war," he told me.

A grin slowly spread across my lips. "Then this means war." I jumped him and wrapped my arms around his neck before I pressed my lips against his.

It was going to be a different life being a werewolf, but I would have all the adventure I ever wanted with my mate by my side.
