The Futility Wars Page 33

"THE ORTHA HAS REQUEST THAT ALL HUMAN PRESENCE LEAVE THEIR GALAXY WITHIN 48 HOURS OR THEY WILL BE KILLED, THIS WAS SENT FROM THEIR HIGH-COUNCIL. YOUR MISSION IS NOW OVER AND YOU ARE TO REPORT TO THE GATEWAY SYSTEM AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO ASSURE THE LIFE OF YOU AND YOUR CO-WORKERS." The feed ended, and he shook his head, he was gonna leave his several year long mission fruitless of any progress of value, he had several profiles of various ambassadors their eating habits and stuff like that but nothing of any real value except in diplomatic spirit which was now at an end.

He shrugged his shoulder and called the commander of the station to start the portal drive to bring them to the gateway system, They sent their well wishes and hoped for continued diplomatic progress in the future and set their coordinates to the gateway system to then be transferred back to the milky way, he had earned a massive paycheck for this job although he did not do it for the money, he did it for hope of working together against the futility hand in hand with all the races of the galaxy. He looked out the window and saw the shield start to activate covering the station instantly and then his view changed the brown planet were now gone, and he looked upon a massive station which would be his home for at least a week until he was transferred back to the milky way. He saluted the few armored soldiers that greeted him on the dock which was standard operation protocol on the holding process before returning to the milky way in a unannounced vessel to prevent any shenanigans by anyone, the gate was extremely guarded and pretty much impenetrable by a invisible shield undetected by any instrument, he knew if anyone tried to break the shield they would die instantly if they could even get that far, the massive super titans guarded the gate designed for one thing, killing anything that tried to enter the gateway from this side, Although the gateway was extremely hidden in the milky way galaxy off the grid of any communication network unable to chart their way back if they went out of line, he was led into a conference room filled with diplomats and other managers transferred off the line.

He sat down and listened to their debrief "The Ortha obviously have no understanding of diplomacy or goodwill. They have no demands or wants for the things we like to request, no matter how small. I was not even able to manage to procure a few bits of their food for god sake!" a diplomat said.

He nodded in agreement that the Ortha was bit guarded or closed off to anyone other than their own species, Humans were guarded creatures as well but not to this extreme at least humans were willing to concede abit to gain in the future, although the Ortha request for the terrifying bomb that wiped out two systems were denied immediately, nobody would gift that technology to an alien race no matter how much they protested, and he just hoped the alien convoy that arrived would not engage in warfare with them to seize it. The door opened and a gold colored shell with a black stripe sat down on the main chair he knew it was a human inside that armor.

"Good, you are all finally assembled and i could debrief you all at once. There is a situation building and you need to briefed at the real picture at this moment 40 Seconds ago, S-4XN-001 have launched an extensive hacking campaign against the enemy and their vulnerable systems, Everything they know we now know, and every spec of their fleets, designs and population statics are now under our control, we have a superior advantage on the enemy even knowing their hidden colonies and access codes. The diplomatic mission has ended permanently since the Ortha should soon be well aware of our intrusion into their systems, that amount of data could never be hidden for long. The bad news is, the enemy is extremely serious about taking the gateway. They are starting to gather up their bulk of titan class vessels to strike this system, they will die trying, but we will not gain anything either. The gateway as of four minutes ago have left the system and there will be no return to Earth in the time being, the gateway is too precious for even a chance of being damaged and its destruction will turn this system to the likes of the Alpha system just 200 times worse, This is the reality of the situation, you can either stay here on station or enter an Ark that will guarantee your safety until the re-activation of the gateway, Which will be after the defeat of the enemy fleet that will be coming." He said bluntly and the room was in shock the were countless murmurs.

Craig raised his hand "The gateway is outside the window! We can see it!" he said, "Holographic sensory data active on the grid, designed to hide the gateway and the real protective fleets. There is heat and electrical distortions similar to the gateway when it's open, but inside is a massive Alien killing ship, designed to kill the Ortha and keep their ships alive, I do not know how, but if the Ortha attack they will die the moment they enter the system i have been assured." the golden armored commander said, he did a salute then left since his wrist computer lit up.

The room was in a uproar at this information, mostly cause they had slaved away to gain a ounce of data, and they just stole it instead, they were also extremely upset at the war like behaviour against the Ortha, they did not believe for one second that the Ortha had gathered their ships to assault this system while the threat of the system killing missiles still in our employ, they would have assumed a cold-war same as us until they got what they wanted, and we got what we wanted in a round-about way. They did not know when the first round of alcohol drinks were served, but they had gone for several more after that discussing their move and compiling their data for any value it still contained.

The warning sound sounded out, and they put the feed on the massive display and watched, the first of the Ortha fleet entered the last neutral system before they were in official no go zone. They postured around the hyper lane although they used portal technology, so they would enter the system on the edges anyway using the jamming towers, They were gathering every second and their numbers were already in the billions. Craig was terrified not at his life but for the lives of all the Ortha people, he had known first hand the cunning and ruthlessness of his boss when his father lost his life trying to riot in the garden system, gathering people up to demand it free for everyone, They had been warned twice and told there would be no next time he still stood here outside the governmental building and after the third day he returned home in a casket, he always honored his father as a silent hero standing up for humans all across the galaxies, but deep down he know he was a fool.

There were no wars won with words anymore but by action, and any terrorist actions would result in harsh penalties that would hurt everyone that helped you to include your wife and kid, if you even used a cent of the government money to buy any of the stuff they would be dragged in as accomplices also, which had killed most terrorist plots or reported their family members just to be sure, there had been a massive influx of prisoners, and they were now dead at the alpha site. A massive black hole were their grave now not even getting the courtesy of being disposed of their bodies in their own choosing.

Qasaer was stuck on his flagship standing on guard at the human borders in their system knowing that they will never attack or expect an attack in return, the human warrior was known to follow his words and contracts to the letter and would never throw the first punch, the hacking attacking stealing all their data was a surprised addition to this war which had prompted the fleet to take action sooner rather than later, they were wasting billions of ships while they could be on the front stalling the Futility from reaching their richly housed civilian sectors. Their ships could at least stall the enemy for a year with the amount of firepower they had in this system waiting, they were terrified of the black hole generating weapon that they had seen at the humans' alpha planet, their scientist said it was a once in a lifetime weapon that manufacturing more would take decades at least, Qasqaer knew that the human warrior had lived for a fraction of the time their empire had existed and still made such powerful weapons, he was more feared of the future weapons and the hidden ones designed for his race just like they had designed several designs aimed at the alien ships that first entered the system so many years ago, they always had to have a counter to anything he saw as a threat no matter how mini
scule, and he assumed the human warrior did as well.

There were probably a massive Ortha killing weapon hidden beyond the system where their remote probes could never reach, they had been killed the moment of transfer or simply hacked and disabled and used a double-edged sword stealing more data. There was a no winning scenario while their massive empire were shrinking by the day, his estimation of their demise kept shrinking from 500 years to 100 years, he knew the key was in the civilian sector that was completely unmolested by the enemy, but when the first evacuations started then it would spiral out of control. He just hoped the high-council had not succumbed to the panic themselves which he knew they had, there were no point in declaring war, but he had been given to go ahead to do anything in his power to secure the gateway to his race, and he did play the only card he had. War.

He had to win it somehow and steal the gateway to the milky way galaxy, so they could establish there, while keeping the hopes up of his people in the meantime, But he knew it was not possible to win or access the gateway at all, At least not with the full brunt of his fleets which were denied, he now only had a token of a fleet he requested and the only play was to stay here wait for reinforcements to the utmost degree, he needed at least two trillion battleships engaging all the systems at the same time swamping them while the elite ground troops assaulted the gateway to take control. That mission had been rejected and nobody was on his side, so he had to make do with what he could. His people were loyal and always believed in the chain of command but even he felt the psychic murmur of this being a wasteful operation and that they should help the eastern front instead, that hurt him immensely hearing them talk about their victories which never existed in the first place, he wanted to scream in a yell at them to shut up, but he had to stand there and endure while listening, he could not shut them off which was a sign of disrespect and dangerous behaviour. He just stood vigilant on the deck of his ship watching.

S-4XN-001 had processed the data from the massive fight against the Futility and using his massive calculating power he noticed several things that now made sense about them, The aliens had never recorded or had lost most of their footage in the war and their limited data banks while fleeing, that was understandable. But the Ortha had the answers to the Futility question they never knew what do to make of it, They had weaknesses and only time reveled them to him, especially when they entered a new galaxy. All ships came in on the same system, and that was a big no-no when it was scouted. The Ortha had survived on sheer luck at this point seeing the recordings of the massive Futility fleets jump straight into a gigantic sun losing trillions of ships constantly over five hundred years until they started to enter a new system, It was quite simply when you use the data from the Ortha and their collected planetary knowledge, the sun was simply not there until a rare disaster struck and the nearby planet collided with the sun giving it a massive mass that expended outward slowly across the system in a fireball of death and destruction, the Futility must have had jumped at least four hundred years prior from the nearby system to not see it happening, but that was unacceptable for such a race. Why did they operate as they did?.

The answer was in their body makeup, they were simply doing a sweep of the galaxy programmed into their bones which they repeated constantly. They were truly an endless fleet of destruction. The answer was there all along, how do they choose their targets and where to strike? They traveled on strictly set patterns, and they operated with a singular order to extinguish everything. It was simple really, and that's how you defeated them as well, The Ortha had extensive files on the Futility and their makeup, they had done the groundwork and he had simple finished it, they were weaker than they let on. There were countless footage of Futility fleets not operating and then after a few hours started to move again, and they had a weakness and that was so obviously he would have hit himself on his head with his palm if he were connected to his human body at the moment. Stellar radiation, That's how they were keeping themselves together. Everything in their life was radiation, they were background radiation emitting from the birth of the universe itself that gained sentience and repeated the process they learned so long ago, They were the missing link in the big bang, they were the nothing colliding with nothing to make something, They had fed on the massive kinetic and metaphysical energies of the universe since the beginning of time to evolve where they were now and then went out and did their own little cleansing because they were afraid.

That fueled them and it was obvious now, the Futility feared the galaxy just as it feared them. The massive radiations emitting from every star in the galaxy was poison to them, that's why they hid in the shells created by their dead that hardened over them to protect them like a mothers embrace, The Futility could be defeated, and he had the key. Humanity was saved and milky way was completely secure the moment he implemented his plan, He connected to his human body and walked into his living room and took a bottle of wine and took a swig, then he laid down back in his chamber with a smile and focused his efforts on the Futility ending scenario.

Qasqaer finally got the order to return to the front, he had spent many years waiting for reinforcements and orders coming but never came, a diplomatic party would meet instead to solve their problem. Qasqaer knew the council buckled immediately as soon as the civilian sectors were close to being engaged by the Futility and his fleet had to redeploy there to defend while the evacuation would begin before soon, He had wasted time here, and he would have joined the front if not for him to be summoned to the diplomatic meeting which would be held in the capital of their system, He portal ed there immediately to get the details. He parked his ship above the orbit moored to a station using a pulling beam to keep his ship in position, he took a small transport vessel and landed on his home world. He would have crawled in the mud and feel it's reinvigorating powers to his skin if he had the time which he did not, so he walked into the building with his shell instead, which were now normal for anyone in the military.

He saw several young children playing in the mud, and he wished he was one of them forever blissfully unaware of the impending doom. He stepped into the building and was greeted by a female Ortha that had a purple tint to her mass, He did the salute and was led into the meeting room "Ah Qasaer, finally you are here. Please close the door!" said a Ortha with a thick skin that coated him, which showed him his age.

The firmer the texture of your mass the older you were, everyone knew that, and he now knew the humans did as well since their databases were copied and stolen. He closed the door and sat down around the table with the single high-council member stationed on this planet "Qasqaer, there will be a extremely important diplomatic session with the humans. And we want you to spearhead it, We need the access or their assistance in fighting the futility, They have a new weapon on their Bravo system in our region that have fully resisted the Futility and have not lost a single ship in a decade. They call this device the "Solar Awakening Device" or SAD, for short. We know it's in a new ship type called the Dreadnought. It is a fearsome ship bigger and stronger than we ever seen, It's the main ship carrying this device. We need either a copy of this device or several million of these ships guarding our systems to help us combat the Futility. This is imperative! And you will grovel and beg if needed!" the high-councilman said.

Qasqaer protested with a massive psychic yell which were diverted back toward him, he could not challenge the older Ortha with his powerful mind, but he could make his stance clear, he was a warrior, and he would not bow his head to anyone! He was chased out of the room with his orders, and he would do everything in his power to get the things the council needed, but he would do it his way and no begging would be involved.

Craig was the primary diplomat on the missions to establish relations with the Ortha again after they pulled back their fleet, he would take some credit in that he was chosen for his good work earlier decades negotiating, but he knew it was because of the new Dreadnought that put the Futility question to an end. There was now
a weapon capable of delivering massive damage to endless fleets and there was now a channel dedicated in the milky way just counting the ship kills, billions of people had died defending these planets and ten years ago it paid off in the first Dreadnought entering the system and then a massive mop up on the sluggish Futility fleet that could hardly punch back, after 2 hours the Trillion+ Futility Fleet were being pushed into the sun while new fleets entered and then simply glided forward on momentum alone, he did not know how the Dreadnought operated but it killed the Futility on entry, it was not entirely harmless to humans and Ortha alike which was concern but put them on the edges of the milky way, and they got themselves an impenetrable galaxy.

Which was the plan, massive amount of resources had been poured into this project and the Dreadnought fleet was now in the billions guarding the edges of the milky way. They were now safe forever, and they would wait on their friends from the Alien convoy and tell them the good news, so they could slowly reclaim this universe from the Futility. They would arrive in the milky way on the edges at around 60 years which was about time, Craig looked forward to talking to some new aliens which were more receptive than the Ortha. He walked into a room and saw several of his employees with a few new ones including fully armored soldiers in a new white and red striped armor, He looked at the desk and saw a extremely beautiful woman sitting on the desk making paper cranes while waiting on the meeting to start, there were two massively armored human soldiers wearing a Black Golden commander armor, which meant she was a VIP.

Probably from earth or garden faction to teach their child about diplomacy or just seeing the aliens, he just hoped she would not be a hindrance to the negotiations and be quiet. "Ah, Craig!." he looked and saw his co-diplomat James standing on the side waving him down "Craig, This is miss Juliet. She's a VIP from the garden system here to learn and watch a diplomatic engagement with the Ortha, she will be here for the duration of the meetings"
