One by one, my deeply loved friends took their last breaths. One by one the Council bid Alban farewell. Meydra and I escorted each dragon who bore the body of their companion, to the stars. Only to return to find another was ready to let go of the corporal threads and become stardust.
For all were granted a long life by the gems I gave them. They became teachers and mentors and lived long, full lives. When they died, Ua and I made sure they went with their dragons, back to the empyreal realm. From there, they will watch over Alban. They will observe and remember the wondrous and magical life they lived with dragons.
My dearest Thalynder died yesterday. This evening, after the country has had time to say goodbye to a good and gracious queen, Meydra and I will escort Thalynder and An-Yun to the stars.
My Lynder gave me many happy years. Our daughters and sons have grown to appreciate love, whether for country or person, does not always come as a flaming arrow. It sometimes arrives with the soft smile of a friend.
