Nathaniel had to chuckle at that and even Scott laughed. Jean was choosing wisely when picking security and then turned them into a little bit of lunatic. But despite the man's bravado, Nathaniel could see that he was still leaning heavily into Scott's shoulder.

"I'm still going to call you a medic Matthew."

"That would be nice, sir. I would not say no to painkillers right now." He smiled painfully.

  "Hang in there."

"Sir, what do you want to do with the bodies?" Scott asked.

"There is an incinerator on the main wing basement, let's burn them. We are keeping their guns and ammo however. I believe we are going to need them."

"How do you know that?" He asked, surprised.

"I saw it on a map of the building while we were walking." Nathaniel said, kneeling near the cop that he killed and picking up his weapon. Scott made Matthew sit near the plane and start doing the same thing, picking up the gun and putting it on his hips.

"That was written in Italian!" Scott shouted, remembering the map that Nathaniel and him had passed while walking here.

"Yeah, I told you I learn fast." Nathaniel answered simply like it was not even worth mentioning.

"Unbelievable." Scott shook his head bitterly. "How do you plan to move those two into the burning room without bringing down the whole airport on us and without appearing on any camera surveillance or getting stopped by someone?"

"Let me think for a second." Nathaniel said, looking around him thoughtfully until he spotted something that made him smile creepily.

"I don't like that smile, like, at all." Scott said, making a grimace.

"I have an idea, I think you will like it." Nathaniel's smile got even wider.

  "I'm sure I won't." Scott answered dryly.

Nathaniel then started telling him what he wanted to do, the frown on Scott's face deepening the more that he heard.

  "This is crazy." He said.

"I know, right? This is going to be so much fun." Nathaniel said happily.

  *****

"I need a shower or ten." Scott grumbles after finishing burning the bodies of the two dirty cops and exiting the incinerator room.

"Me too." Nathaniel admitted taking a whiff at himself.

"I can't believe it works. Like they saw us walking with a giant teddy bear and nobody even stopped us."

"Well, in their defense, we were wearing cops uniforms so it's not that surprising but I admit, seeing two cops lifting a giant teddy bear in an airport should be an immediate red flag on any circonstance."

Nathaniel had the idea to fit the bodies of the two dead cops inside the giant teddy bear that he found in the hangar, full of dust and a little bit dirty. Someone in the past had maybe forgotten it or just got rid of it here and it had taken dust the whole time until today. Fitting the two bodies inside was a messy affair and they had to break or even dislocate many members for the two bodies to fit inside. Luckily, Nathaniel had made sure to tell the two pilots to get inside the plane and put Matthew on a chair for him to rest and drink something. He then made the two of them keep an eye on the beaten security guard while they were busy with their sordid affair.

"I can definitely agree with that."

Hearing his phone ring, Nathaniel picked it up and recognized the number that was calling him was from Italy itself. Knitting his brows, he accepted the call.

  "Allo?"

"Nathaniel Lyndon?" A female voice said in english over the phone with a slight accent.

  "Yes, speaking. Who is it?"

"Valentina Lombardi. I'm the lawyer your mother, Karine Lyndon hired to help you sort the mess your company is currently in. We should meet."

"Ah yes, we should but to tell you the truth, I would love to take a shower before we meet. The flight was long."

"It's understandable, where is your hotel located?" She asked.

Nathaniel told her the place where he was scheduled to stay while they stayed in Rome with Scott.

"I know the place, there is a café on the ground floor of that hotel, we should meet here in one hour if that's okay with you?"

"It would be perfect. Miss Lombardi. By the way, do you know a good doctor on call? Someone who can keep his mouth shut and gifted in what he does?" Nathaniel asked.

"I do know someone like that, I can give you his contact info if you want. I'm warning you, he will not be cheap." Not bothered in the slightest by this curious inquiry, Nathaniel was not surprised as he was sure she was asked worst in the past.

"I think you know I'm good for the money. Can you send him to the airport? I will text you the exact location. One of my people got beat up and I just want him checked out."

"Yes, I do know money is not an issue. I will take care of it. Let's see each other in one hour Mister Lyndon."

"Yeah, let's. See you later Miss Lombardi." Nathaniel said before hanging up.

  Chapter 130: :

"Nathaniel Lyndon?" The same voice that he heard on the phone previously said, prompting him to lift his head from his phone.

Nathaniel was surprised as the woman was really not what he was expecting. He thought his mother had chosen an experienced lawyer to help him better but it happened to be the exact opposite. The woman in front of him was around 5"6" with flowing blond hair and clear green eyes. Late twenties, the woman was a knocked out by any definition of the word. Wearing a black, stern dress, the woman was looking experienced and was giving off competency while still displaying her obvious charm. What was even more impressive was that his mother had sent him the accomplishment of the women in front of him and seeing her this young was amazing. She had achieved so much in her young career that Nathaniel could only respect her.

"Yes, I'am. Miss Lombardi I take it?" He said, getting to his feet and pulling her chair to help her sit.

"Indeed and thank you." She put a professional smile on, sitting at the table.

"I've taken the liberty to order you an orange juice, if it's not to your liking, I can order you something else." Nathaniel said, nodding in the direction of the drink near her.

"It's fine, I'm working on caffeine all day so an orange juice would be a nice change." She said, taking a gulp of it. "Let's jump right in as my time is limited. Your mother summed up the reason for your presence here. I made some inquiry and found out that an arrest warrant has been issued against your employee named Amal Rockea. The police claimed that he killed two police officers and is on the run, they launch a wide network alert on TV to find him."

"I see." Nathaniel said, knitting his eyebrow in concern. He needed to find Amal before they do or the consequence would be dire. "You know the situation, do we have something that we can use on this whole affair to help us gain ground or at least made them back off?"

"I have something but this is too little to help us in your current situation. These two cops were not even on duty on the time they were killed. One of my friends in the police department gave me a copy of the file in question. Now, that information has been edited from the police database so if we were to use it alone, we would not achieve much."

"A cop friend of yours? Can he be trusted?" Nathaniel asked, doubtfully.

"There are a lot of good cops in the department you know but they don't know who to trust to give names. I did go toe to toe against corrupt cops over the years but I could only control the symptomes, not cured the disease." She said, her eyes dimming a little.

"Yeah, I know. I read your files. You are an impressive young woman to accomplish so much at your age." Nathaniel complimented her, making her give a smile, genuine this time.

"It's not everyday that I get to hear a teenager called me 'young woman" like that, especially when I'm ten years older than you, now that you turned seventeen." She said, lifting a meaningful eyebrow, Nathaniel simply smiled and changed the subject.

"Editing the database of the Police Department, is this something every cop can do?" Nathaniel questioned.

"I actually don't know. I can look it up if you want.
" She said.

"No need, I will find out myself. Thanks by the way for the medic, he was as you said, competent and not the chatty type. Do you perhaps have news about Jean Martin?"

"I do in fact. He got out of surgery two hours ago. The surgery did go as well as they hoped but his prognostic vital is still engaged. He's too weak right now to undergo a new surgery, if one of the suture rupture, he could die from internal hemorrhage. I'm sorry but it's up to him right now to pull through."

"I have faith, Jean is a fighter and he will fight to live. I have no doubt in my mind about that. Do you perhaps know people working as a security who are not intimidated by cops? I don't want them to act on him while he can't defend himself." Nathaniel said worriedly.

"Yes, I know security who fit that description. People with enough influence to not cower in front of dirty cops. I will hire them on your behalf but like the doctor, cheap is not in their dictionary."

"Money is not what matters right now but keeping my people safe is, make it happen sooner the better please."

"Consider it done. Your people said that the man who got beat up was at the hands of corrupt police officers, do you know their names so I can start filing lawsuits?"

"Let's just say they are not among us anymore and leave it at that. There are things one lawyer should not know, you're experienced enough to know that by now I hope." Nathaniel said, making eye contact with her.

"Indeed, it's better I do not know." She said with an unbother voice but Nathaniel had clearly seen the gulp that she tried to hide.

"Can I advise you to stay in your hotel the time this blows over? The cops could try to grab you if they were to know you are in the country. You are a target right now."

"Ohhh worried about me? This is so cute." Nathaniel said with a youthful voice, smiling brightly almost making her laugh but she managed to keep a stoic expression .

"No, nothing of the sort. I'm just worried that I will not get paid if you were to be grabbed by some corrupt cops." She made a wolfish smile.

"Don't worry about it, I'm not the type of man to be grabbed without at least being invited to a nice restaurant beforehand." He teased right back.

"Duly noted." She said, trying not to laugh and steer back the conversation on topic. "If you are not going to hide, what are you going to do?"

"I'm going to find Amal and bring him back to safety. After that, I'm going to hunt the people who were involved in the kidnapping of my grandfather and have justice."

"And how are you going to do that exactly? It's your first time in Italy and you don't even talk the language, I don't think you think this plan through." She said, doubtfully.

"I'm like you Valentina, I'm not only a pretty face." Nathaniel said in Italian, enjoying the momentous expression of surprise on her face.

"You do talk Italian, it was not present on the information I read about you." She said, recuperating quickly.

"Well, it's a recent developpement. A ten hours recent development actually."

"Yeah, right." The female lawyer said sarcastically. Nathaniel on his end just looked at her, a little smile on his face. "Wait, tell me you are kidding."

"Nope, I still have a lot to learn about the language but I can make a few phrases alright. I don't believe I will need more than that for my purpose here."

"People said that you are smart. I think smart is putting it mildly." She said with a bitter expression on her face.

"Ohhh you really said the cutest things sometimes, Valentina." Nathaniel used his youthful voice again.

This time she could not hold it and let out a very unprofessional giggle.

  Chapter 131: :

After parting with Valentina, Nathaniel met back with Scott who was acting as his back up. The truth was that Valentina was right, he was indeed a target for the cops and it could be really bad if he were to fall into their hands. He could fight if the circumstances were in his favor but if they were going to arrest him in a public setting, he could not risk endangering innocent civilians. That would never sit right with him. Not mentioning the fact that he would be exposed.

"That's the hottest lawyer I've ever seen." He said in an admirative voice.

"Keep it in your pants Scott, we have work to do." Nathaniel smiles ruefully.

"I wasn't…" He tried to justify himself but Nathaniel did not give him the time to do so.

"Yeah yeah,of course you weren't. I'm going to try to call Amal, it's been twelve hours now, he must have turned his phone back on."

Picking up his secure phone, Nathaniel dialed Amal and was glad to hear the line connecting.

  "Sir."

"Glad to hear from you Amal. How are you?"

"As well as I can be. I'm being hunted."

"Yes, I heard. The cops put an arrest warrant on you. I'm trying to go after them legally to stop it but it will take some time."

"That's not what I mean. I know about the news outlet with a blurry photo of me on it but this is not my concern. There are three or four officers who are tracking me down. I tried to stay ahead but they are gaining ground. I don't know Italian and not many people know english here so my options are limited."

"I see. Tell me where you are, we are coming to get you."

Noting the address down, Nathaniel stopped a cab coming nearby and asked the conductor.

"How long will it take us to get to this address? With a 100 euro bills if you drive like your life depends on it?" Nathaniel asked in Italian.

"Twenty minutes, this is outside of Rome and the traffic is horrible at this hour." He answers.

"Alright, Scott get in." Nathaniel said, making him seat first before closing the door. "Amal, we need at least twenty minutes to get to you, try moving the party in an isolated place and keep me posted of your location with the phone."

"No problem." Nathaniel hears him hesitate on the phone. "What about Jean? How is he doing?"

"The surgery did go well. Now, he has the control of his destiny, he will decide if he lives or not. I have faith he will get through. I hired a security team to keep him safe while he's busy resting."

"That's… that's good sir, thank you. I need to cut off now."

"No problem, just stay alive until I arrive and once I'm there, we will take care of it. STAY ALIVE Amal, this is an order."

"At your orders, sir." Amal said before hanging up.

  *****

Twenty fives minutes later, the cab stopped in front of what looks like an abandoned industrial building. Fours stories tall and with broken windows everywhere, it was quite a gruesome view. The driver of the cab watches the building in question turns to Nathaniel.

"Are you sure this is the right address?" he asked, doubtfully. He had seen the clothes that Nathaniel was wearing were top notch in quality and the man beside him was looking like a bodyguard if he ever saw one. That did not make any sense to him why his client wanted to go to a dumb place like that.

"Yes, thank you. We are leaving, here is your money." Nathaniel gave him the price of the ride, more the bill of 100 euros. It was the last address that Amal had sent to him by text a few minutes earlier so he was sure it was the right place.

"Sir, if you need a ride while staying here, give me a call." The man said, giving his card to Nathaniel that he accepted gladly. That could always be useful.

After saying his goodbye to the cab driver and waiting for him to move out, Nathaniel and Scott start running to the back of the building. Once there, they could see two cars parked there. Putting his hand on the hood of the car closest to him, he could feel it was still warm.

"The car just got there, they could not have gone far. Let's enter." He said, taking the gun that he stole of the cop he killed previously and took the safety off. Scott mirroring his movement. "Let's stay together. Amal said he thought he was being hunted down by three or four people but the car could have taken at least ten people here. Stay in tight formation."

  "Got it, sir."

Entering the building by the torn up doo
r, which looked like it was done recently. Amal must have entered by a broken window and the one chasing him chose to break the door. It was showing that they wanted to do this quickly and Nathaniel could use that. An enemy pressing for time was more likely to commit mistakes. Looking on the floor, he could see shards of glass everywhere on the ground.

"Mind the piece of broken window on the ground." He says, Scott nodding his understanding.

Sweeping the first floor and finding it empty of people, Nathaniel and Scott could still see fresh footprints on the dust, making it clear that people walked here not too long ago. Unluckily, the dust was not thick enough to help him guess how many people walked there exactly. Going a floor up, they again start going room to room until Nathaniel stopped Scott on the hallway and put a knee on the ground. What they were doing albeit safe was taking too long and with Amal life on the line, Nathaniel could not put it off any longer.

Closing his eyes and keeping his breathing steady, Nathaniel expanded his senses outward scanning everything in his range. Opening his eyes a few seconds later, Nathaniel get back to his feet.

"They are on the fourth floor, we need to hurry!" He shouted, starting to run in the direction of the staircase.

"Wait! What? How the hell do you know…" Scott asked, doing everything that he could to not let himself be distanced by his boss.

"Not now Scott!" Nathaniel shouted, running on the stairs.

Once they arrived on the fourth floor, Nathaniel took a second to calm his breath.

"Scott, there are five in the eastern room, in addition to Amal. We are going in but we need to take some alive this time. Got it?"

Scott nodded, breathing heavily. Nathaniel was faster than he thought and he had to sprint to stay behind him.

Walking stealthily to the room in question, the door was closed but they could hear people yelling in Italian inside it. Taking position on each side of the door, the two looked at each other and nodded before Nathaniel kicked the door open. Entering the room, Nathaniel went left and Scott right, they sprang into action.
