The Claddagh Trilogy: Irish Affair - Irish Love - Irish Heart Page 11

by Amanda Heartley

When Jay-Z invited me back to his place for the after-party, it was no contest to politely decline. I had one night left with Amelia and I was determined to make the most of it. Watching her reach behind her back to unclasp her bra, then take off her panties with that innocent look in her eyes, I know I’ve made the right decision.

She blushes, probably because I can’t stop staring at her, but I can’t get over how stunningly beautiful she is. I step forward and run my fingers over her body.

“Did you enjoy yourself?” I murmur.

I wrap my arms around her waist, my fingers stroking her back. I kiss her neck, and she sighs. Finding my way to her lips, we kiss passionately, my erection growing harder by the second.

“I had a great time,” she whispers. “But I was a little distracted by this hot Irish guy serenading me from the stage.”

“You were the only person there, for me, at least,” I whisper, pressing my lips against hers. “You saved me from disaster.”

She runs her palms over the bulge in my pants, making me even stiffer. I take them off, and my boxers too. She looks down and grins, which makes me laugh. I lead her over to the bed, taking her hand and placing it on my cock.

We kiss and hold each other, like we never want to let go. Touching, stroking, caressing, she captivates me completely and we make love for hours. Her body and mine, as one. In the afterglow of another mind-blowing orgasm, breathless and exhausted, I gently stroke her shoulder. She smiles at me, her eyes growing heavy. I’m fighting sleep too, but I don’t want to take my eyes off her.

I guess I gave in. It’s nearly three in the morning and I’m now wide awake. I’ve got to get up in a few hours, which is making it even harder for me to wind down. Amelia doesn’t seem to be having the same problem. I must have worn her out, because she’s snuffling softly in my arms. Every now and then, I swear I see her smile, making me wonder what she’s thinking.

But, how the fuck is this going to work?

I can’t stand the thought of being away from her, especially by three thousand miles, and I haven’t even left yet. Would she move over there to Ireland? No. I couldn’t ask her to do that. Could I move over here? Maybe. I’d do that rather than expect her to sacrifice her life for me. There’s so much to think about, but I’m determined to make this work. I’m so sure I’ve found my one-of-a-kind, perfect girl, and not just because she’s beautiful and fantastic in bed. She’s beautiful inside, too, and my love for her inspires me. She’s the reason I do what I do. I write songs to give people hope that love is out there for everyone. I want people to feel like the impossible is sometimes possible.

  Amelia is my impossible.

I stir when I hear my name, rolling over when I hear it again. Cracking open my eyes, I see Amelia hovering above me with a smile on her lips. Her long silky hair cascades over her bare breasts, making my cock twitch, instantly.

“Good morning, superstar. It’s eight o’clock. You’re going to miss your flight if you sleep any longer,” she whispers.

“Hello, sweetheart,” I say, smiling. I sit up and kiss her, my cock hardening immediately. She is such a turn on. I lay back down again, pulling her on top to straddle me.

“Ooh, someone’s feeling perky this morning,” she says, pressing her pussy against the bottom of my shaft and sliding it along the length. Our eyes lock on each other. When she gets to the tip, she pauses, then presses against me. I feel her pussy lips part, slowly, and I growl as I’m enveloped by her heat.

She closes her eyes, biting her lower lip, and I gasp at the delicious sensation. Grabbing her arse, I pull her toward me and she sighs when I slide deep inside her wetness, her eyes widening as she rocks gently back and forth. She looks down at me, and smiles.

“I wasn’t expecting this,” she whispers, “But I won’t say no. It might be the last piece of Irish ass I get for a while.”

“Well, this is what you get when you wake me up in the middle of a naughty dream,” I murmur. “I was dreaming about doing exactly this a few minutes ago. And I’d better be the only piece of Irish ass you get,” I add, sternly.

She leans down and kisses me gently, sliding herself up and down my length. Gasping, I hold her hips, pushing my cock deeper. She moans, tilting her head back, her breasts bouncing in front of me. With a grunt, I come inside her, and she squeezes her thighs against mine, her pussy milking me dry. It was quick and dirty, but I can’t get enough of her. She lifts herself off me and smiles.

“Better, honey? Now, get in that shower, or you’ll miss your flight.”

I grumble but do as she tells me, though I’m not convinced missing my flight would be a bad thing at this point…

I glance at Amelia. She looks lost in her thoughts. She’s barely said a word since we got to the airport ten minutes ago.

“What’s wrong, darlin’?” I ask her.

She shrugs, looking embarrassed. “You’re going home. I’m sad,” she murmurs, looking down at her hands.

“I’m glad you’re going to miss me,” I chuckle. “We’ll work this out, okay? Now that I have you, I’m not letting you go. I do have you, don’t I?”

“Yes. Yes, you do. Okay,” she hesitates. “So, what now?”

“I have to sort a few things out back in Ireland, like asking my record company if I can come over here for a few months to finish the album. We can see how things go and take it from there.”

“You’d do that for me?” she asks, her blue eyes sparkling in the light.

“I would. I’d do pretty much anything for you, Amelia,” I murmur. “I’ve fallen in love with you.” I lean over and wrap my fingers around the back of her neck. I press my hungry lips against hers, kissing her, slowly. She closes her eyes and sighs. When we break the kiss, I study her face and wonder how I’m going to get through the next few weeks without her.

“I love you too,” she whispers, and my heart melts for her all over again. They’re the words I’ve been waiting to hear for so long and I kiss her and hug her tight.

Jesus, she loves me? That’s amazing. I feel on top of the world as I dip into my pocket, pulling out the small velvet pouch I’d put in there earlier.

  “What’s that?” she asks.

“Oh, it’s just a little something I’ve been meaning to give you before I left. I nearly forgot about it until you said those three little words.”

“Ooh, can I see it?” she says, excitedly squirming in her seat.

“Not yet. Close your eyes and give me your hand.” She offers me her left hand, unsure of what I’m about to do. “Not that one, your right hand, and close your eyes.” She looks at me, a confused look on her face, but does as I ask.

I take the ring I’ve bought her from the pouch and slip it over her third finger. Thank God, it fits perfectly.

“Oh my God, Rory. You bought me a ring? I thought we agreed back in Dublin we weren’t getting married?” she teases.

“Sorry to disappoint you, sweetheart, but no, we’re still not getting married. Well, not yet, anyway. I barely know you,” I tease. “Okay, you can open your eyes now.”

She doesn’t need telling twice and breaks out into a beaming smile when she sees it on her finger.

“Oh, that is beautiful, thank you so much. I’ve never seen one like this before. What is it? It’s so unusual. Is that a real diamond in the middle? And how the hell did you know my size?”

“Jesus Christ, Amelia. You and my sister are two peas in a pod when it comes to jamming in so many questions all in one sentence. Give us a chance to answer, won’t you?” I plead, giving her a smile.

“Oh, sorry. It’s just that I’m so excited you gave this to me,” she says then gives me a fake pout. She’s so cute. I laugh and give her a kiss.

“Alright, it’s an Irish Claddagh ring, and the reason I put it on your right hand is because—as you were keen to point out to me in Ireland—we aren’t getting married. If we were married, or engaged
, it would go on the left. So, don’t worry, you’re not on the hook…yet,” I say, chuckling. However, deep down, I hope it’ll happen one day.

“Oh, how interesting,” she exclaims. “I wish we had more traditions like that over here.”

“The hands represent friendship, and the crown represents fidelity. Since we’re dating now, the heart points inwards, and you can guess that represents love. And, yes, that is a real diamond in the center of the heart. I chose this one, because you’re the diamond in the center of mine.” I shake my head and chuckle to myself after I say those last words. They sounded so good in my head earlier, but sound so cheesy when I speak them.

“Aww, that’s beautiful,” she says, and I see tears welling in her eyes, so maybe it wasn’t such a bad line after all? “I’m genuinely overwhelmed, but my ring size, how could you possibly know? I’m amazed it fits so perfectly.”

“Ah, well, let’s just call it the Maguire Magic and leave it at that, shall we?” I joke.

She giggles, then says, “The next thing you’ll be telling me is that leprechauns really exist.”

I raise my eyebrows at her. “Now, don’t you be dissing those little fellows, sweetheart, or you’ll be sorry you did,” I warn. “To be honest, I asked my sister. I saw you trying on each other’s rings when you came to my house, so I just asked her. Pretty smart for an Irish lad, huh?”

“You’re very smart, and sexy, Rory Maguire,” she says, and we hug each other tight as the last call for my flight comes over the intercom. I kiss her one last time, then back away toward the entrance to the gates. It breaks my heart to leave her, but right now, I don’t have a choice. I’ll be back in a few weeks anyway.

I pass through security and board the plane. I pull my phone out from my pocket and see a text from Ben, congratulating me on my L.A. performance. I smile. I still haven’t thanked him for bringing Amelia to me. Without his help, things wouldn’t be as great as they are right now.

Me: Thanks for everything, Ben. I owe you one.

Ben: Anytime. You can pay me back by sending me your sister.

I close my eyes and groan. I’m sure he’s joking, which is a good thing, considering how often I plan to be back in the US. If there’s one thing I know about my sister, if I’m over here, she’ll be over in a heartbeat to visit me.

I need to make sure those two never meet.

  Ever.

  Chapter One

  Ben

So, this is what three million record sales and ten weeks in the top ten gets you.

I walk through the sprawling eight-bedroom mansion overlooking the stunning Los Angeles skyline and let out a low whistle. I have to hand it to him; this house is stunning—light, bright and spacious. I’m amazed every time I come here. I thought my place was a decent size, but it makes my inner-city apartment look tiny in comparison. In fact, I’m sure the whole thing would fit inside his lounge with room to spare. As much as I’d love to say it’s Rory’s music that’s earned him all this, I can’t stop myself from thinking at least part of his success is obviously the result of my awesome management skills since we’ve been working together.

Things are going very well for me, and demand for my services has skyrocketed since I took on Rory’s U.S. commitments. As well as him, I now represent three other international stars, and a handful of young, rising talent. I honestly love my job and I couldn’t even imagine doing anything else.

I spot Rory in front of the BBQ with a pair of tongs in his hand. He looks up and waves me over. I wander through the crowd, chatting randomly to people who I don’t really know very well as I make my way over to Rory. I don’t enjoy these kinds of situations very much. Believe it or not, I prefer my own company over the company of strangers every single time. I act like I love this kind of thing because that’s what people expect from me. It’s what Rory expects.

My best friend, Rory is my go-to guy for just about everything, which often rubs Amelia the wrong way. Okay, so maybe I get the guy into the odd bit of trouble, like last month when we were stopped by the police for me hanging my ass out of his car window as he drove down the street. How was I to know that the car I mooned had a plain clothes cop driving it? It was only the fact that both the officer and his wife loved Rory’s music that got us out of that mess.

“I was wondering when you were gonna get here,” Rory says when I reach him. “Thanks for helping me set up, by the way.”

“Yeah, about that,” I begin, making a face. “It’s a long story.”

I fully intended to help, until something came up—something being identical twin sisters from Norway who ended up in my bed. Let me tell you, that was a marathon. Lucky for me, Rory was understanding. He always was.

“It’s always a long story with you.” He shakes his head and laughs. There’s no sign of anger or annoyance at all. It’s almost like he was expecting something like this to happen.

“That may be true,” I murmur. “But twins, man.”

“Do I even want to know?” he grins.

“Yeah, probably not,” I admit with a smirk. “So, how many of these people do you actually know?” I ask, looking around.

“Honestly, about six?” he says with a shrug. “Most of them are Meels’ family and friends.” He makes a face. “You know me. I’d have been just as happy with a few close friends and some good music.”

“Good music being yours,” I tease. He laughs and goes back to flipping his burgers. “So, how does it feel to be in your new place?” I add. “Though it’s a little on the cramped side. Couldn’t you get anything bigger?”

“It’s pretty great, huh?” he says with a grin.

He looks around and shakes his head, like he can’t believe it’s his. I don’t blame him for feeling overwhelmed, considering he’d been living in a small apartment he’d rented with Amelia for the last four months. He could easily have afforded to stay in a hotel, but he’s just not that kind of guy, and I admire him for it.

“I suppose you’ll need all those spare rooms to hold your Grammy’s and shit,” I tease.

He laughs. “No, but I am already thinking about installing a recording studio. I’m sure Meels won’t mind since I won’t have to travel so much.” He shakes his head and laughs. “Man, this is so much more than I ever dreamed of,” he admits. “Me, just a country boy from Ireland. I never thought I’d get to the point in my life where I could afford something like this.

“And, you can thank your tour manager for all of it,” I say, smiling and patting him on the back. He looks at me and raises his eyebrows. I shrug. “I’m just saying, keep in the back of your mind that whatever great thing happens in your life, it’s probably because of me,” I say. “You owe me. I made you. It’s that simple really.” I look over by the pool at two girls dangling their feet in the water while Rory chuckles at my ballsy banter. “And you can start paying me back by introducing me to those two beauties over there.”

“You do realize, Mr. High and Mighty, that technically my manager is still back in Ireland?” he points out, ignoring my request.

“Minor detail,” I say to him. “Speaking of minor, how’s your sister?”

“My sister is twenty-one,” he says with a growl. “And out of bounds.”

  I smirk. “Even better.”

He shakes his head, amazed. “Do you ever stop?”

“For your sake, you better hope I get it out of my system before tomorrow. What time does your sister’s flight get in again?” I joke, winking at him.

His smile disappears, and he narrows his eyes at me.

“No, don’t even joke about that,” he says.

“What?” I say, protesting my innocence. “I merely pointed out that I’m going to be on my best behavior. Isn’t that what you want? I mean, if you don’t want me to behave, I can definitely manage that too.” He shakes his head and releases a loud sigh, just as Amelia wanders over to us.

He wraps his arm around her and kisses her softly on the forehead, while she glances at us curiously. I smile, because although I’m not the mushy type, watching those two together does always manage to bring out the sap in me.

“So,” I say, glancing back at the oversized house. “Eight rooms, huh? Shall we discuss when I’m moving in and who I have to sleep with to get the master bedroom?”
