  Abyssnor – Often called ‘Dark Nor’ this race has skin as black as coal, with yellow eyes, sharp teeth, clawed hands, and they can see through any darkness. These Nor make fantastic Rogues and live in small groups of caves.

  Abysytes – Tall and gaunt with pale complexions and a long whip like tail, as well as four wings on their lower back, the Abysytes are often mistaken for villains though they are actually rather scholarly.

  Kelphyte – The most unique Phyte in appearance the Kelphyte resemble humanoid jellyfish. They are amphibious and usually master the magic arts with great ease.

  Sylphyte – The forest dwelling Phytes the Sylphyte look like tall slender humans with pointed ears and soft features. Some Sylphytes have been know to grow small antlers from their head.

  Centaur – Half human and half horse, this race is one of the most noble in all Rhespira. There is no equivalent in archery and they hold familial ties in high regard.

  Satyr – Satyrs appear to be humans with the curved horns and lower torso of a goat. They are a musical race and love telling stories; as such, they make natural bards and are common in Rhespira.

  Garnorian – These lizard-folk are tall, strong, with large jaws, and long tails. They can be a variety of colors and their leader is the King of Rhespira.

  Froeggart – This race appear to be humanoid frogs, standing no taller than five feet at the tallest and three at the shortest. They live in villages in the swamp lands, can stick to walls and are amphibious.

  Cerulean – Resembling giant crabs, mantis shrimp, and lobsters the Cerulean are a humanoid race of unparalleled strength. They value peace and honor above all else, and their exoskeleton makes them walking guardians from birth.

  Golem – Iron servants, Golems were once created in mass by King Draven until he learned the secret to their creation and outlawed it.

  Gargoyle – These stone creatures are fierce guardian statues that have been animated and given life through the process of Ethereal soul binding, a practice that is now illegal in Rhespira.

  Cyclops – Large one eyed horned humanoids with orange skin, this race was one of the last to sign the treaty followed only by the Slyrum.

  Nymph – Water spirits who have crossed over from the Elemental plane for various reasons. They have blue skin, hair that resembles seaweed and excrete a pheromone that attracts all races and genders.

  Mermaid – Half human and half fish, Mermaids are one of the oldest and rarest races in Rhespira. Most go an entire lifetime without ever meeting one.

  Slyrum – A race of sentient slimes, the Slyrum have signed the peace treaty but are discriminated against as most people still consider them monsters. There exists only one settlement of Slyrum and they rarely leave. They have a skull that is visible, due to their translucent gel-like body and their true origins are a closely kept secret.

  Ghost – Individuals who have died and are unable to move on to the Ethereal plane from the Mortal, Elemental, or Astral Plane for various reasons.

  Monsters in this book

  Skinsnappers – An ‘S’ shaped body with a barbed spike make up the majority of the this translucent fish, whose organs imitate gold to lure in prey. The rest of it is an eyeless face with two gnashing mouths of sharp teeth, and two strong arms that ended in razor-like claws.

  Goblins – Short and scrawny creatures with large ears and green skin, they usually attack civilized people on sight and form tribal bands.

  Hob-Goblins – Very similar in appearance to Goblins only standing eight feet tall and have long hands and fingers.

  Gremlins - About two feet tall, with long floppy ears, grey skin, one large bulbous yellow eye, three clawed fingers on each hand, and a toothy mouth that stretches from ear to ear.

  Redcaps – Six to eight inches these tiny pests plague most of Rhespira. Two bulbous eyes sit at the far ends of their red triangular heads and they sport a pair of strong mandibles. They have a long tail that is covered in barbed quills.

  Glittercaps – Similar to Redcaps aside from their incredibly pale skin, and heads that are a muted red speckled with Glittermoore dust from within. They have also developed strong claws and club like tails.

  Troll – Extremely large, dull creatures, with sickly green skin, long arms that reach the ground, and an incredible strength.

  Dragon – A massive winged beast that only the bravest or most foolish of Questers challenge. There are many varieties of Dragons as they can embody any of Rhespira’s elements.

  Mimic - An organism that fuses with an inanimate container to create a new creature. They typically devour anything trying to loot them with any non-organic material being stored in a hollow chamber below. They have long powerful tongues and sharp teeth.

  Kraken – A massive underwater monstrosity of legend, it is said that a single tentacle can smash a ship in half.

  Venova Dente – These meat eating plants have three large heads, each like that of a Venus trap, they vary drastically in size but all are dangerous.

  Lingtrill – Astral creatures who use a hollow spike that protrudes from their beak to puncture the skull of their victims before crawling inside, eating the organs and making the fresh corpse their new home. Their trilling noises are then used to draw in further prey.

  Trepidor – A large, gaunt, feline, predator with several long spines protruding from their back all adorned with rattling bones. Trepidors have no eyes, rat-like tails, hooked claws, and their mouth opens three ways; they hunt and see by sensing fear.

  Vormaw – A grotesque horror with four arms, a gnashing mouth in each palm, and a headless torso that is taken up by its one bulbous eye. They hunt down those who steal from the Astral Plane as they are the Guardians of all Astral Artifacts. They are one of the most intelligent races in all Rhespira, though most who meet them never have the chance to find this out.

  Paloof – A small creature, that’s only discernable features are two large orb-like eyes surrounded by a fluffy fuzz that comes in a variety of bright colors. They absorb polluted air and release clean oxygen, and as such their chirps are common in big cities.

  Rust Monster – An insectoid creature, standing between two and three feet tall, they are known for a corrosive saliva that gave them their name.

  Allog – Small amphibians, these creatures resemble a frog with the head of an alligator.

  Leott – A small gilled mammal that resembles an otter with a mane of kelp around its head and six legs.

  Pixie – These small Fey creatures inhabit forests and lakes, appearing as small orbs of light.

  Korlax – Large four armed creatures with obese stomachs, a turtle-like shell, the face of a sloth, and long orange shaggy fur. They are dull and slow but known for their temper.

  Fungroom – Large green mushrooms with spidery legs and sharp mouths underneath their caps. They release a paralyzing spore and then consume their prey in groups.

  Pipit – A small cave-dwelling lizard with the ability to glide small distances on leathery flaps of skin.

  Baetrim – A Dragon-sized creature, the Baetrim has a fierce ice breath; that it uses to freeze its prey solid before smashing it with its large club-like tail. A bat head, large wings, and the ability to control blizzards, make this creature a feared encounter on all mountain passes.

  Blizzit – Small four-armed flying creatures, they emit a soft blue glow, causing them to appear as floating orbs from a distance and often be mistaken for Pixies. They can shoot ice shards from their hands and regularly harass hikers and others that travel the mountain passes.

  Helcian – A white wolf possessing an icy tail of a scorpion. This tail can inflict victims with Ice Rot, which will slowly turn their body into a block of ice.

  Tucahr - Small harmless creatures found on beaches throughout Rhespira, common pets even. They have brightly colored feathers they use to fly and their body looks like a five pointed star.

  Cast of this book

  Kheeta – An anxiety riddled Kitsune who dreams of leaving The Den and
becoming a Quester.

  Bartlebee – An erratic Meripint who is determined to make his family proud and become a famous artist.

  Aurora – A flirtatious Florae, she defies expectations by hoping to be a Rogue instead of a Cleric of Petorii like her family wants.

  Golluk – An Iron Golem created by Tarek’s father to accompany him as his guardian. Golluk is a kindhearted and polite friend to everyone.

  Tarek – A Sylphyte aristocrat who has had the world on a silver platter. He is the self-proclaimed ‘owner’ of Golluk and possesses a nasty temperament.

  Celia – The ghost of a mermaid Quester who was once a famed Pirate Captain. Her soul is trapped in the lake of Verngoth Forest.

  Pip – A Musmeer Bard and Pro-Quester, Pip is known throughout all Rhespira for his various songs, plays, and books.

  Seh’ Shira – A Sehrmic Mage, she is revered as one of the wisest Pro-Questers.

  Moira – An Arachling Pro-Quester with multiple personalities, though she may be crazy she’s one of the best Rogues in Rhespira.

  Az’ Rocc – An Aven Cleric who is the most devout of the Pro-Questers. His healing spells are that of legend.

  Gorn – A large, brutish Selchii whose voice alone commands respect. He defines what it is to be a Warrior Pro-Quester.

  Lu’ Rho – A black and white Berejorn from a mountain monastery, who is determined to become an honorable Cleric.

  Klept – A Stalagpint of few words, but many stolen treasures. This Rogue to be can’t seem to help himself.

  Tehsugon – A Shelidon warrior with a broken shell that he uses as a shield and a weapon made from the tooth of the one who broke it.

  Caprice – A Satyr who has dedicated her life to following her parent’s legacy. She is a talented harpist and a dead eye with a bow.

  Soza – A Kelphyte Mage determined to understand the secrets of the Astral plane. She uses a staff gifted by her missing mother.

  Calisto – An alchemist Satyr who resides in Tohmar with his wife and three children.

  Merigohl – A Centaur who is married to Calisto and mother of three children, she is both a talented cook and retired Quester.

  King Draven – A regal Garnorian who led a revolution that ended with him claiming the throne of Rhespira.

  Queen Vyliska – The Sehrmic princess who married King Draven ensuring an era of peace following the revolution.

  Quest Master Koonai – A Musmeer who banished Octilus and founded Dauntless Dungeon.

  Octilus – The former dark Cleric of Tormentula, he went to great lengths, including genocide, to try to bring his Goddess to the mortal plane.

  Ms. Sylvie – A kindhearted and gentle Treant who works as Dauntless Dungeon’s librarian.

  Apothecary Merleus – A tall and slender Fungee who is getting older in years, he runs the most renowned apothecary in Dravenmoore.

  Bogdu – Merleus’ Froeggart assistant, he is the apothecary’s sole employee.

  Velora – The only Slyrum to leave their community, she is a third year Cleric at Dauntless Dungeon.

  Mr. Icculos – An eight foot, Cyclops, Warrior that teaches martial training at Dauntless Dungeon. He has a soft spot for Velora.
