Kings and Butterflies Page 14

Dallas wanted to ask him what his father had said, but he seemed so lost in his story that part of him didn't want to disturb him at all. He opted to wait, putting a hand on his shoulder instead, squeezing it in what he hoped was a reassuring manner.

“He looked right up at me and he asked me if I was gay,” Simon said. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “I told him I didn't know, which was the truth, but it took me so long to get it out. It took me so long to speak, to do anything. It felt like we were looking at each other in the sitting room for the longest time.”

He took a step back and shrugged as he continued his story. “When I had finally managed to get it all out, he said that he loved me no matter what, that they all did. And then he said that I had to be way choosier about who I decided to let into my life.”

Dallas cocked his head. “Wait, what do you mean?”

“I thought Father would be furious with me for being gay, but he wasn’t. My father wasn't angry with me. He was angry that someone had taken advantage of me, that someone had sold me out. He knew that the boy that I was kissing in those pictures, his parents had made a ton of cash from the tip off. He was a British public-school boy so it wasn't as if his family was struggling for money. He was very remorseful when I spoke to him, saying that he liked me a lot and that his parents had pressured him into it.”

  “Had they?”

“I didn’t know, and honestly, I didn’t care. Father was right. I was a lot choosier about who I let into my life after that. But for a few months, I was totally, utterly heartbroken.”

  “I bet.”

“So I asked Father to get me tutors instead. I didn’t want to go back to boarding school, I didn’t want to face any of the boys back there. I thought they would all be like him.”

  “That sounds really hard.”

“It was. I turned fifteen in August and fifteen was probably the hardest year of my life, because it crystalized just how little of my life belong to me. The tutors, the security details, it was all so much… I needed an outlet.”

“Is that when you chose drugs?”

“Drugs were never an outlet for me, they were just fun,” Simon said with a shrug. “No, this was before then. Around that time, I started to get so lonely. My brothers were all away doing their own things, as were my cousins. My parents are rarely ever home. I was friends with some of the staff’s children, but of course they had to go to school.”

“Simon,” Dallas said, squeezing his shoulder again. He didn’t know what to say.

Simon took a deep breath before he continued speaking, his voice shaky. “I decided to take up hiking. I was so in my head, I needed to get out of it, I needed to get out of the palace. It was so fucking big, far too big for a fifteen-year-old.”

“Yeah, it sounds… kind of scary, to be honest.”

“It was. Far too big,” Simon took a deep breath. “I asked my security detail to take me to some of the nicest natural areas around the palace. I needed to get out of my head,”

  Dallas watched him.

“One of the first ones they brought me to was this one. It was the first landscape I could see without a bunch of security people literally trailing behind me. I couldn't see any way that somebody could take pictures of me up here. I felt like I was alone for the first time in my life, like for the first time in a very long time I could be myself.”

Dallas looked up at his face, at his watery eyes, at his beautiful lips, and smiled. “So what did you do?”

Simon turned to look at him. “Honestly? I cried.”

  “You cried?”

Simon smiled as he looked at the waterfall. “Yeah, I cried. And it was great. I felt so much better afterwards. I stayed here, looking at the waterfall, feeling the mist on my skin, the tears burning in my eyes. I cried until my nose hurt so much I couldn’t touch it, until my lips felt like they were burning.”

  “Wow.”

“It was the greatest cry of my life, honestly.”

“It sounds like it was very cathartic.”

“That’s the word. I came here a few times to cry again, but then I had to go back home, and things had to go back to normal. I started coming here alone after a little while, but not to cry anymore. Being here, it was right. Every time I got here, I did feel a little better.”

“I can see why. This place is beautiful.”

“The White Waterfall of Maitje,” Simon replied, looking at it. “It started to be my happy place. I would come here in the afternoon almost every day.”

  “You would?”

“Yeah,” Simon replied, nodding. I would sit down and draw sometimes.”

  “The landscape?”

“Sure, sometimes,” Simon said. “But not all the time. Sometimes, I would read, write, or study. It was so beautiful and peaceful here. I would listen to the water when things got out of hand. I wouldn't worry about anyone taking any pictures of me or trying to take advantage of me because they knew who I was.”

They were both quiet for a few seconds. Dallas watched Simon as his cheeks slowly regained color, as he started to regain his composure. Beautiful regal Simon, who was always so regal, who always seemed so untouchable.

Simon looked at him, as if he expected him to say something wise, but Dallas wasn’t sure what to say. His heart was beating fast in his chest and he was still feeling a little dizzy from the height and the narrow bridge, but mostly from what Simon had just told him.

Simon kept staring. Dallas swallowed. “So you used to come here all the time?”

  “That’s right.”

“And you never made them fix the bridge?”

Simon’s eyes widened and then he chuckled. “Yes, I did, actually.”

“And this is the best that they could come up with?”

Simon snickered with Dallas. “It’s a work in progress. They don't actually put that many funds into fixing up bridges that only royalty uses.”

  “That’s a shock.”

Simon raised his eyebrows. “Just goes to show that there's not much you know about royalty.”

Dallas looked him up and down. “Okay. Then will you teach me?”

Simon cocked his head. “You want me to teach you?”

Dallas shrugged. “If you want to.”

“I do, I just thought you found all this really overwhelming.”

“I do find all this really overwhelming. That doesn't mean I don't want to learn about it.”

Simon raised his eyebrows, the question in his eyes obvious to Dallas.

“You're part of it and I want to learn about you,” he said. “I'm just worried that there will be no space for me in it.”

“As long as you're with me, you're going to get to be part of it,” Simon replied. “Of course there’s space for you here. I’ll make sure of it.”

  “Are you sure?”

“What do you think the point of that story was?”

“That story had a point? I thought you were just sharing.”

“I’ve never brought anyone else up here,” Simon said quietly.

  Dallas blinked. “What?”

“You’re the first person that I’ve ever wanted to bring up here, Dallas. You’re… fuck, you’re amazing. I knew that I wanted to bring you up here when we first went for ice cream together. I know that sounds really odd, and like a lot, but I thought—I thought that if you ever found out who I was, if anyone would appreciate it, it would be you.”

  “Why?”

“I don’t know. I wanted to show you who I was.”

  “So you brought me here.”

Simon nodded. “This is who I am, Dallas. I wanted you to be able to take it or leave it.”

“This is beautiful,” Dallas replied. “You’re beautiful.”

Simon looked down at his lips, and Dallas looked at Simon’s. Simon pressed his mouth against Dallas’ own, his lips soft and warm against Dallas’, his stubble tickling his skin. “Thank you for coming to Maitje,” he said. “Thank you for coming here. I thou
ght I might not be able to talk you into it for a little while there.”

  “Why?”

“I don’t know,” Simon said. “You seemed hesitant.”

“I was scared. I’ve never done anything like this.”

  “And?”

“I’m scared I’m going to wake up any minute now,” Dallas replied. “That it’s all going to be some weird fever dream.”

“A good kind of fever dream?”

“The best kind of fever dream.”

“Can I prove to you that it’s real?”

  “How?”

“With my mouth,” Simon said. “With my cock.”

  Dallas practically gasped.

  “Nobody can see us here.”

“We’re so high up,” Dallas replied, the doubt obvious in his voice. It wasn’t that he didn’t want this, he wanted to drop to his knees anytime that Simon said the word but this didn’t feel safe to him.

“We can stop whenever you want,” Simon said. He wrapped his arm around Dallas’ waist and brought him close to him, the bridge swaying slightly under them. Dallas shuddered against Simon’s skin. They were both wearing coats and jeans and Dallas couldn’t even think about the logistics of this, but even the touch of Simon’s skin through the thick fabric of their clothes was enough to get him going. Simon pressed his lips against Dallas’ lips against, breathing quickly, and Dallas parted his lips to let his expert tongue into his mouth, their tongues sparring against each other in Dallas’ mouth.

Simon broke off the kiss, tilting his face up by holding his chin with a crooked finger. “Do you want to stop?”

  “No.”

“But if you want to stop…”

  “I’ll tell you.”

  “We’re really high up.”

“I know. I just…” Dallas closed his eyes. “I want to spend my time pleasuring you.”

“That’s what you want to do?” Simon said, a devilish glimmer in his eyes. Dallas wasn’t sure what he had just done, but he didn’t like it at all. Simon threaded his fingers through his hair, yanking his head back so that they were staring at each other. Simon’s breathing had already quickened and Dallas’ was starting to match.

Dallas didn’t say anything, preferring instead to stare into Simon’s brown eyes.

“You answer me when I talk to you.”

Dallas swallowed, his mouth dry. “Yes,” Dallas replied. “I want to please you.”

  “Take off your clothes.”

Dallas’ eyes widened. He had expected Simon to tell him to get on his knees, maybe to give him a hand job. He was sure that there was no one here, like Simon had said, but to be naked on a bridge in the middle of nowhere… he hadn’t really counted on that. Of course his cock was throbbing against the fabric of his jeans through his boxers, which was weird and uncomfortable. Simon moved his fingers down Dallas’ neck until he was holding Dallas by the scruff of his shirt, moving him closer to him, kissing him passionately, quickly, his mouth warm and wet and sloppy against Dallas’ own.

“What if I don’t want to?” Dallas replied when Simon yanked him away from his face.

Simon furrowed his brow. “You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do,” he said. “But I thought that you wanted to please me.”

Dallas swallowed. He had meant that, and while the way that Simon was going about this wasn’t exactly what he had expected, he definitely wanted to please him.

“I love seeing you naked,” Simon said, moving away from him. “You’re gorgeous.”

Dallas looked around. There was no one else around, the security detail was down in the car, the last two bodyguards down at the bottom of the stairs. If something happened, they would surely hear them coming. There was no way that they could see them from where they were.

“It’s so cold,” Dallas said as he felt the air nip at his skin. He had felt fine when he was bundled up, but this was so different from back home, when it was always hellishly hot.

“You don’t worry about that,” Simon said. “I’m going to keep you warm.”

“But you’re just looking at me.”

“I know,” Simon replied, biting his lower lip. “And yet you’re still wondering how you’re going to hold on until I actually touch you, aren’t you?”

Dallas closed his eyes. He hated how well Simon could read him, he hated that he knew that he was already so turned on that he was finding ways to stop himself from coming.

  “Hurry up,” Simon said.

Dallas did as he was told. He grabbed his shirt, pulled it up over his head and threw it on the bridge somewhere. He didn’t even care where it was. He met Simon’s gaze as he unzipped his jeans, sliding them down his legs, tugging them over his shoes. They weren’t particularly snug, but his shoes still came off his feet, and he was left wearing nothing but socks.

“You’re going to have to get faster.”

  Dallas looked at him.

  “For next time.”

“There’s going to be a next time?”

  “If you behave.”

Dallas threw his head back, his cock throbbing even though he hadn’t touched it, even though he was just out there, exposed to the elements, exposed to everything. Most of all, exposed to Simon.

“Now put your hands behind your back and keep them there.”

  “What, why?”

“Because I don’t want you to touch me.”

  “What?”

“When I suck you off,” Simon said, a smile on his face. “I don’t want you to touch me.”

  “What?”

“I said I don’t want you to touch me.”

Dallas stared at him, his eyes wide. Even though it was so cold outside, Dallas’ body felt like it was on fire, the dew sticking to his skin as Simon approached him once again.

“If you touch me,” Simon said, his voice barely above a whisper. “I’m going to have to stop.”

Dallas groaned, throwing his head back, his stomach tight. Simon kissed his shoulder, his lips burning against his warm skin, each kiss sending a shiver down his spine and through his entire body. Simon licked his collarbone, his tongue leaving a trail of spit until Simon started to move down his chest. He had still not touched him—not with his mouth anyway—and Dallas felt like he was about to come even though Simon hadn’t even used his hand. As if he was reading Dallas’ mind, Simon pressed the palm of his hand, which was warm and soft, against his pelvis, near the base of his cock.

Dallas moaned once more as Simon moved his head down and bit his nipple, just once, a little harder than he was expecting. Dallas let out a quiet yelp and Simon went back to kissing him softly, passionately, this time moving his hand up and down Dallas’ stomach, only his fingertips on Dallas’ skin. With his free hand, Simon grabbed Dallas’ balls, which were already tight, playing with them while he slowly leaned down again. The bridge croaked as Simon slowly, very slowly, got to his knees, leaving a trail of kisses in his wake.

He kissed the inside of Dallas’ thighs, the closest parts to his hardened cock, but not quite touching it. Every time that he approached his dick, Dallas could feel it twitching, especially when Simon breathed out. He was panting and Dallas was only slightly aware of his own ragged breathing. Simon moved away from him, licking Dallas’ cock for just a second, making no move to put it in his mouth. He nuzzled into the inside of his leg once again, this time holding the base of Dallas’ cock with his fingers and breathing on it. This time, it was definitely on purpose, and Dallas could feel how slippery wet his cock was with precum.

Simon had still not touched him and Dallas felt like he was weak at the knees. He threw his head back, his eyes closed, his fingers interlocked, as Simon finally swirled his tongue over the head of his cock. The touch was so brief, so perfect, so… fuck, it was everything, and Dallas wasn’t sure how he had managed to stop himself from coming.

He was so hard that it hurt.

“Please,” Dallas heard himself say, his voice a whimper. “Please.”

“Not yet,” Simon replied. He grabbed Dallas’ cock, his grip soft, and started to jerk him off. His mouth was open right in front of Dallas’ dick, his eyes wide, and Dallas’ legs were shaking even though Simon wasn’t going very fast.

“No,” Dallas said. Simon instantly stopped moving, but his hands were still holding Dallas’ dick. “I’m going to come if you don’t stop and…”

  “And what?”

“And I want to feel your mouth around me,” Dallas said quietly. “Please.”

“I will,” Simon said. “You just have to be patient.”

Dallas wanted to shake him. “What if I come all over your face?”

Simon licked his lips. “Yeah, I would totally hate that.”

  “Dick.”

  “I can stop.”

  “Don’t.”

  “You love this.”

  “Fuck you.”

“I can stop,” Simon said once again, kissing the inside of his legs again, sucking on his tight balls, sending a shiver up Dallas’ spine and through his entire body. “I can stop right now if you want me to.”

  “I hate you.”

“I can tell,” Simon replied. He finally wrapped his lips around Dallas’ cock, moving his head back and forth, letting Dallas throat-fuck him the same way that Simon had throat-fucked Dallas before. Except this was nothing like that, because Dallas’ hands were restless, still held together behind him. He wanted to grab Simon’s head and hold him down, he wanted to touch him, to thread his fingers through Simon’s thick dark hair. He wanted to be able to do something, anything.

But Simon had told him that he would stop if Dallas touched him and Dallas believed him. It made it so much harder to be out here, completely at Simon’s mercy. He was still hard as fuck, completely pliant, and every time that Simon moved his head back and forth, Dallas felt like he was about to explode.

Simon popped his cock out of his mouth

“You’re so beautiful,” Simon said as he looked up at him. “I want you to come on my face.”

  Dallas’ eyes widened. “Really?”

“Yes,” Simon said. “And then I want you to lick it all off.”
