An Angel for Avery Page 11

by Ciara Lake

Suddenly, he stopped. “Avery, I want to bury myself inside of you.”

“I want you to.” She looked up at him, her eyes expressive, a mixture of sensuality and innocence.

Her declaration sent lust spiraling through him. He caressed her back and shoulders. She rested her head on his shoulder as if waiting for him. He could hear her heart beat; it pounded hard. She watched him silently.

“Avery, I feel strong emotions for you. Like none I have ever experienced.” He caressed her back then squeezed her buttocks. Her silk gown was soaked from her need for him. Aiden clenched his jaw as he attempted to restrain the impulse to push her back on the sofa and shove her gown up as his cock eased into her wet core. His desires warred inside of him. “I want you, I want to keep you. I have never had such intense feelings.” He ran his fingers through her hair. She trembled.

Picking her up, he carried her into the bedroom. He could barely walk as his need for her was so strong. She kissed the side of his face as she caressed the back of his head. Shivers of desire raced up his spine. The beast within him wanted to roar loudly, announcing his claim. He tossed her on the bed. Her supple body bounced on the soft surface, and her hair spread over the pillows. Then he was on top of her, pushing her into the mattress. Pushing her gown off her shoulders, he lavished kisses over her bosom. Aiden rocked against her, her softness cushioning his hardness. She ran her hands over his back, and he shuddered from her delicate caresses. His mouth claimed hers once more. His tongue invaded her warm orifice as he ground his hips against her.

“Aiden.” She lifted her hips in invitation for him to take her completely.

He trailed kisses from her shoulder to the center of her chest. Pushing her breasts together, he admired their beauty. His pants vanished, and his enlarged cock was free. He pressed it against her. His hard length rested against her soft stomach. Throbbing, it demanded her attention.

“Aiden.” Avery’s hands touched him intimately.

The incredible sensation sprinted up his cock; it was overwhelming, intoxicating. He froze. Recovering, he moved his hips rhythmically, sliding his cock up and down in her warm hands.

“You make me feel so good,” Avery whispered in his ear. “I want to make you feel good too.”

He pulled from her hands and placed his cock at the entrance of her pussy. It was wet and welcomed him to enter. Sexually charged vibrations overwhelmed him. As he pressed his cock further into her moist softness, he met her natural resistance, and it blocked his way. Avery lifted her hips more, inviting him to continue. Intense emotions tightened within his chest. Pleasure surged from his cock’s tip, up its length, nestling in his gut.

He roared, growling near her ear. “So beautiful.”

Her expressive eyes locked with his. They were windows to her soul, showing him the intensity of her emotions.

“Aiden, your face looks fierce. What’s wrong? Have I done something wrong?” Avery’s voice was tight with concern, and her expression changed to one of worry.

“No. You have done everything right.” He kissed her chin. “But I must resist these feelings.” Immediately, he rose from her.

She reached out to touch his bare leg and he flew backward across the room.

“No, I cannot allow this. I am sorry, Avery. I want you so much—you will never know how much. You call to me like no other, like a siren calling. But I cannot make love to you. It is wrong for me to take you as a human man takes his woman.” Instantly, he was fully clothed.

Avery sat up, watching him, a blush on her face.

“I wish things could be different. But I must be strong.”

“Aiden, don’t. It’s not wrong. Really, you don’t have to stop.” Her voice was soft, wispy, seducing him to change his mind. She had all the womanly tools needed to work her influence on a man, even an angel.

For several moments, they stared at each other. Aiden was afraid to move, as he was ready to pounce on her again and make love to her until she cried out, asking him to stop. “It is not you, my beautiful Avery. It is just these feelings I have are wrong. I do not want to harm you in any way. There could be consequences to our intimacy.”

  “Are you afraid?”

“No.” He shook his head. “But I could not bear to have you then lose you.”

“Come, Aiden, let’s worry about everything else later. I want you.” Her gorgeous mane was in disarray around her head. She was beautiful beyond description, and he desired her with his every fiber.

Her cellphone rang, breaking the spell.

  * * * *

He vanished from her room. “Aiden, don’t leave,” she cried, ignoring her phone.

Aiden returned, standing in front of her bed. He towered over her, tall and proud, yet his eyes did not meet hers. This incredible male was handsome beyond words, and her body ached for him. She was about to swoon from only looking at him. A huge ridge was evident under his Levis. Although, now he seemed to have regained some of his control. Avery’s face heated as she thought about how close they’d come to making love. Her body pulsed with need for him. Never had she experienced such joy and loss so profoundly.

“You were frightened of me.” Aiden looked at the floor, shaking his head. “I am sorry. I became feral. But my passion for you took all my control. I am not used to these emotions or impulses. I should be immune to such things.” He still refused to look her in the eye. “But not this time, not with you. You woke a dormant part in me.” He ran his hand through his hair, pushing back the wisps of hair which kept falling onto his forehead. His every simple movement was sensual. “I want to do things I should not do…like fill your soft core with my penis and pump it in you until you cry my name.”

His words made Avery tremble and her womb flutter.

“I want to possess your body, your soul, in every way possible. This is wrong of me.”

  “Possess me?”

“Yes, possess you. Like a man, but as only an angel can. What I want is invasive. Like nothing you could experience with a mere mortal. I realized what I was doing at the last moment. I could not take your innocence.” Aiden looked toward the window. “Please get dressed. Let us get ready for trick-or-treating.”

Avery got up and walked toward him, but he stepped back.

“Perhaps you should stay a distance from me for now. Let me cool. I do not want you to fear or resent me or anything we do.”

“O…kay.” Avery reluctantly paused. “I’m going to call my mother back. It was her ring tone that played earlier.”

“Very well, I will leave you to make the call.” When his eyes met hers, a pulse raced through her system all the way to her toes, like a zing of power. “We have a few hours before the children ring our doorbell.” His eyes flashed from dark brown to golden then back to brown. “I will put the pumpkins out on the porch.”

Avery held her breath as she watched him. It was not fear she felt. It was a mixture of emotions, mostly encouraging her to throw herself into his arms, to beg him to make love to her. She wanted to surrender to his feral, uncontrolled passions.

“Wait.” She held out her hand. “Wait, Aiden, I’m confused too. My emotions are all over the place. I’ve never allowed myself to feel these things or act this way. But I liked it, I wanted it—I want you.” She looked down at her hands. “I experienced so much ecstasy from your touch.” She peered up at him. I can still feel…it was like electricity flowing through me.”

“You felt my life force. I was sharing who I am with you. It is an intimate part of me, my spirit.”

“Sometimes even when I just look at you, I feel something.” She stepped closer to him. Standing next to him, she could feel his energy humming through him like a high-tension wire.

He took a step toward her too. “I will be leaving you so you can change into something less provocative.”

“You wanted a fashion show.” She laughed. Lifting her hands above her head, she put her hip forward, striking a pose for him.

  “I know.” He
grinned. “I got what I asked for.”

“Yes, you did.” She nodded. “I’m going to call my mother back, and then I’ll be right out. We’ll do the rest of our fashion show later. I love what you’ve bought for me. You are very generous.” She touched his arm. Like electricity, a bolt of power rapidly traveled up her arm, straight to her heart, making it skip.

“I will be waiting.” Aiden vanished.

  Chapter 5

Little creatures gathered at the cabin door, giggling and threatening mischievous tricks. “Trick-or-treat, smell our feet, give us something good to eat,” three children dressed like pirates yelled when Avery opened the door. Their sweet faces smiled up at her.

“What scary pirates you are. What will save me from you blokes?” She winked at Aiden. “You look so sweet.” Avery smiled, tossing candy in each child’s bag or pumpkin.

One child stepped forward. “We’re not sweet. We’re pirates. We’re the terror of the high seas.”

“Oh, I’m sorry. Of course, you’re not sweet. You’re pirates. I’m Princess Avery. Thanks for coming to my castle door.” Avery waved as the next group approached. When the children got to the door, they just stared. Avery looked behind her. Aiden stood behind her with his fake halo on his head, along with his real wings fanned out.

“Trick-or-treat,” the smallest child dressed in a pumpkin yelled out. “I like angels. Your wings are cool.”

“Oh, do you?” Aiden took the candy out of Avery’s hand to give each child several pieces.

“Are you a real angel?” Another child stepped closer.

“I am.” Aiden bowed. “I am here protecting Princess Avery. So be nice to her or I shall smite you.” He grinned, shaking his finger at them. The children giggled hysterically as they moved off the porch.

Avery’s feet and hands tingled from him standing so close to her; his internal power radiated from him. “It seems the big wave of kids has passed.” She closed the door. “I hope we have enough candy to last the night.”

“We will. Not to worry.” He put his arm around her shoulder. “You do look like a real princess, a gorgeous one.”

“And you do look like an angel. I can’t believe you’re showing your real wings.”

“They are only children, and they think they are fake.” He shrugged. “It is nice to be me.” He fluttered his wings. They stretched out to an incredible length, at least five feet or more on each side. He moved them around to the front of him to gather her closer to him. His wings pulled her closer as his arms held her. She looked up at him, and he kissed her. “I am sorry, I cannot seem to leave you alone.”

“Aiden?” Avery giggled as he hugged her tighter. She touched his feathery appendages. “They’re silky.” She rubbed her hand over the top of his wing. “You can use your wings like arms?”

“Yes, I can fight with them too. I can use them as weapons. Also, I can hold you tight with them.” Holding her, he pressed her back into him more intimately. “We can make love with my wings embracing you. Would you like that?” He grinned, then he kissed the side of her face. “I would.”

“You want to make love to me now?”

“Yes, I cannot resist the temptation of you.”

“How do you get the wings to come through your clothes?”

“It is an angel thing.” He rubbed his cheek against hers. “Your skin is so soft.”

  “An angel thing?”

“Yes, do not try to understand. For the party, I will wear fake ones.” Aiden placed his finger under her chin and lifted her face to look at him. “Are you upset about how I acted earlier?”

  “No, I’m not upset.”

His large body pressed against hers. “Good.”

The familiar surge of energy passed through her again, melting her like butter. She looked down at her hands, which were on his chest. “I was disappointed you stopped earlier. I thought it was something I did.” She leaned her head against his chest.

The doorbell rang followed by pounding.

“I knew it was wrong for me to indulge in the desires of my flesh and to take your innocence. So, I forced myself to stop. But now, I grow weak again.” He caressed her neck and shoulders.

  The doorbell rang frantically.

“Coming.” Avery looked back at him. “I guess, I’d better get the door.”

“I guess so. The children are anxious. Or...we can ignore the door and resume where we left off.” Aiden’s wings released her. “I fear I do not have any self-control when it comes to you.”

“We’d better hand out the candy like Grace expects us to.” She took the bowl of candy off the table and headed for the front door.

As she opened the door, a group of children called out in unison, “Trick-or-treat.” About ten kids of all sizes stood on her porch with their bags wide open.

“Hello, do you want some candy?”

“Yes, please.” A couple of youngsters held out their bags. Avery handed them some candy, and they accepted the goodies with bright smiling faces. The last costumed figure walked closer to the door with his bag open. He was much taller than the others. Everything about him seemed older. The other children ran on to their next destination.

“You’re kinda big for trick-or-treating.” She put her hand in the bowl of candy to gather some. “I guess you want something like chocolate, not Jolly Rancher Suckers. I went trick-or-treating until I was a freshman in high school. How old are you?”

“Older than days,” a raspy, deep voice answered. “Young, lovely princess, I am much older than days.”

Avery stopped sorting through the candy to look at the masked figure.

“What are you supposed to be?” She looked around him to see if any other children were coming. She sensed Aiden walk up behind her. He pulled her back toward him.

“Give him nothing,” he growled. “He is not what he seems.”

“I am a very wicked one,” the masked figure cackled. “Angel.” He bowed at his waist. “Brother of old, greetings to you.”

Aiden stepped in front of her.

“Spending time enjoying this lovely mortal?” The masked figure nodded at Avery. “She looks delicious inside and out. What a sweet soul she has.”

“Leave here, demon. I do not wish to behead you this day.” Aiden pushed Avery back inside the house, then stood in front of her.

“And kill my host?” He cackled again. “You would not do so, at least not here, for all to see.” He looked around Aiden. “Angel of good, shame on you for playing with a mortal.” He shook his head. “Are you becoming like your other brethren?” He snickered. “Oh, but you have your own body to use while enjoying hers. How fortunate for you. How unfortunate for me, I have to borrow other’s forms to enjoy the flesh.”

“Be gone from here. You stink of evil.” A sword materialized in Aiden’s hand. Its sharp edge glistened.

“Are you sure you do not smell yourself? You smell of your whore.” His laughter rang loudly. “Put away your sword.”

Avery looked around to see the side of Aiden’s face. It seemed to transform into something else, similar to what she’d seen in the bedroom—feral, non-human.

“Ah, let me not distress you, pretty angel. It is a shame to frighten your toy with your warrior’s face. She knows not what lies beneath the surface or what could be released upon her.”

Aiden moved his sword in the direction of the masked figure.

The demon put up his hand. “Hold your sword’s edge. Allow me to deliver a message from the mighty Osage. After the message has been delivered, kill this host. I care not. There are plenty of other vessels for me to occupy. This world is full of eager hosts. Perhaps even your princess will oblige.” The demon removed his mask, throwing it to the ground. The face of a young man appeared. His features twisted, he snarled at them.

“Leave here.” Aiden stepped closer. He grew taller, his shoulders broader.

The demon continued to speak in the raspy voice. “I lost my interest in this flesh some time ago. K
now this, angel of good, Osage is coming for all which is dear to you. He will cause you great pain, agony beyond measure. It is what you deserve.” The man dropped his sack of candy, turned, and then stepped off the porch. He fell to his knees, crumbling. The sound of his skull hitting the ground rang loud.

Avery stood frozen, watching the unbelievable scene. Another group of beggars approached, chatting and laughing. Oddly, they didn’t seem to notice the man lying on the ground. Aiden’s sword vanished. The man stood up with a look of confusion then fled just as the children were about to surround him.

Avery quickly passed out candy and the group moved on. As she was about to close the door, one of the parents following the children stopped to wave with an odd expression on his face. Shivers raced down Avery’s spine. Instinctually, she knew it was not the human waving. Quickly, she shut the door.

“What was that?” she asked Aiden.

  “A demon, an evil brethren.”

  “A demon?”

“Yes, they are wicked. They do not have a body of their own. It is their curse. They possess humans or animals to do their bidding, to give them pleasure only flesh can enjoy. Gilittiate was sent by Osage to harass us.”

  “Is Gilittiate his name?”

“Yes.” Aiden leaned against the wall.

“Do you know him?” She set the candy bowl on the counter.

“We know each other well. All of us recognize each other, always. Angels and demons are brothers. I once walked next to him, as he was a fellow servant of our master. We were once the same, but now he has chosen another path.” Aiden walked to the sofa. He sat down, his head in his hands. “I am sorry I have brought this upon you. But the moment you freed me, you were in jeopardy.”

  “Who is this Osage?”

“Osage is a wizard who caters to demons. They reward him with increased powers. There is no being more evil then the likes of Osage.”

  “The demons work for him?”

“Ha!” Aiden’s eyes glowed. “No. It is a mutual using. Make no mistake. In the end, the dark angel will control. Angels are...”

  “Undefeatable?”
