Asher laughed, squeezing him closer.
"What about you?" Daniel's heart sped up, still a little insecure after all this time, unable to believe someone like Asher could really want to be with someone like him. "Any regrets?"
"Not a one," Asher said without hesitation, smiling down at Daniel in undisguised adoration. "I want to be with you for the rest of my life, Danny."
Daniel blushed and hid his face in Asher's arm, still not used to how easily the other man could say such embarrassing things.
"I love you Asher," he said, though he couldn't meet Asher's eye as he said it. He'd only found the courage to start saying it at all recently.
"I love you too, Daniel," Asher replied, soft and sincere, and pulled him into a kiss just as the sun broke over the horizon and spilled golden light over the cabin, the patio, and the two lovers curled up together, alone among nature, needing nothing but each other.
