Then his words sank in and she realized what she was looking at. She jerked her gaze up to stare at him, shocked. ‘Is this an extension to the house?’
He nodded once. Nervously. ‘Yes. Marcus and I are going to build it.’
She blinked rapidly. ‘But how are we going to pay for it?’
‘I have some money put aside,’ Diesel said. ‘And Marcus, Stone, and Jeremy are putting up the rest.’
‘It’ll be our wedding present to you,’ Marcus explained.
‘Do you like it?’ Greg asked, his signs as nervous as Diesel seemed.
But Dani was speechless, and could only stare.
‘We got zoning approval to add three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a second playroom,’ Diesel explained. ‘Walt’s got three pinball machines he’s going to give us. Plus the game systems and some board games and puzzles and maybe—’
She leaped, throwing herself at him, her arms wrapping around his neck. He caught her as he always did, supporting her like she weighed nothing as he held her inches off the ground. ‘It’s perfect,’ she said into his neck. ‘You’re perfect. Thank you, thank you.’
‘I think she likes it,’ Joshua said, making them laugh. He tugged on her jacket again. ‘Can we please have cake now?’
Dani gave Diesel’s neck one last hard squeeze and he lowered her to the ground. ‘Yes, Joshua,’ she said. ‘Let’s go have cake.’ To Diesel, she whispered, ‘You are so getting lucky later.’
Chuckling, Diesel signed, ‘I’m lucky every day.’ He waggled his brows. ‘I get to wake up to you.’
Michael groaned. ‘Please. You promised no gross stuff.’ But his smile was as bright as Joshua’s. ‘Come on. Let’s get cake.’
