"Of course. It was her favorite piece of jewelry," Sydney replied.

"Mom pulled it out of the safe," Sierra stated before opening the case that held the necklace. It was their grandmother's go-to piece.

Sydney looked at her mom and Sierra. "I can't have this."

“You can for tonight, it’s your something old," her mother replied. She wanted to give Sydney something special on her wedding day.

"Where's the something new?" Momma Pearl asked.

Sydney didn't need a something new; she had so much already. "It's fine. I didn't expect anything at all."

Sierra smiled and gave Sydney the something new gift. "This came from your future husband."

Sydney opened the box and observed a diamond infinity ring. She lifted the ring and read the inscription.

  For eternity

Sydney started fanning her face. "Why did you wait to give me this? Now I'm going to cry again."

The women laughed again as Sydney wiped her tears.

The wedding planner poked her head back into the suite again. "The men have already taken their places. Are you girls ready?"

Sydney couldn't believe she was about to get married. "I'm ready."

  ≈

Zeke stood near Pastor Flowers and waited for the start of the ceremony. Standing behind him were Ethan, Gavin and Trevor. He was beginning to get impatient and was about to go and grab Sydney himself. It had been the hardest twenty-four hours of his life.

So far, everything was turning out perfectly. Having the ceremony outside during the evening seemed liked the right choice. Decorative lights created the romantic ambiance he was hoping for.

The music started playing, and all of Zeke's attention went to the double doors at the beginning of the aisle. Soft music played as the bridal party begin to walk towards the altar.

Jonathan was the first to appear, escorting the mothers of the bride and groom. After they had made it to the front row, Sierra came down the aisle followed by Yazmin and Jeanette.

Everyone stood and waited for Sydney and her father to present themselves. They appeared around the corner after the flower girls came down the aisle, dropping red rose petals.

Zeke tried to hold it in, but he couldn’t. When she stood in the doorway on her father’s arm, he started to tear up. He loved this woman with all his heart and soul, and she was becoming his wife today. She and her father stood there talking for a few minutes. Cameras started flashing as she made her way down the aisle.

Sydney and Zeke made eye contact and sent each other smiles. Memories flashed through his head. He thought about the first time he met her at the store and when he introduced her to his family. All of his brothers told him that he was going to marry Sydney, but he didn’t believe them. He was so sure that they were just friends. He was so blind back then and regretted all the time he wasted with other women. He vowed never to waste a single moment with Sydney and to cherish every second he had with her.

Sydney’s father took her hand and placed it in Zeke’s. “Take care of my little girl.”

  “Of course, Mr. Adams."

Zeke and Sydney faced each other. She wanted to hold both of his hands, so she turned and gave her bouquet to Sierra. They stared into each other's eyes oblivious to the fact the pastor was ready to perform the ceremony. Sydney wiped away Zeke's tears, and he did the same for her.

Pastor Flowers started to speak. "Dearly Beloved…"

Zeke couldn't stop himself from lowering his head and pressing a kiss against Sydney's lips. The audience started whistling and clapping.

The Pastor had never experienced anything like this and didn't know what to do. "You're not supposed to kiss yet," he chastised.

Zeke broke away from the kiss. "I'm sorry. Go ahead."

  He started over. "Dearly Beloved…"

"I do!" Sydney shouted before he could finish. Everyone in the audience began to laugh.

"I do, too," Zeke added before kissing Sydney again. As far as he was concerned, she was his wife now, and he didn't need to hear any other words.

  ≈

"Ladies and Gentleman, please stand and welcome Mr. and Mrs. Zeke Coleman," the DJ announced. Zeke walked in, carrying Sydney over his shoulder. Everyone stood and clapped for the newly married couple until they reached the center of the dance floor. Cameras flashed as he kissed Sydney before placing her on her feet. Music started to play for their first dance as husband and wife.

Zeke held Sydney in his arms and softly whispered sweet words to her. He thanked God that Sydney was in his life, and he hoped that she never left his side. He wouldn't know how to live without her. He thought about the first time he’d laid eyes on her.

"Do you remember the first time we met?"

Sydney lifted her head from Zeke's chest. "Of course, it was Valentine's Day and you were getting flowers for your date."

Zeke nodded his head and continued to dance to the music. "You were a breath of fresh air with that smile on your face. I think that's what attracted me to you at first. I was interested in you immediately, Syd."

"Then, why didn't you show it?"

"When I came back to get flowers for my mom, you mentioned that you were too busy to date and that your focus was on your business. I wanted to be a part of your life, so I settled on just being your friend, and I put my interest in you to the side."

She remembered saying the words that day in her workshop.

"Now, when I think back to the past years, I believe I always considered you mine. Whenever you were with someone else, I was jealous that I didn't have you to myself. I wish I could've realized it sooner."

Sydney understood how he felt. "I think everything happens for a reason. What if we would've rushed into something and it didn't work?" Sydney asked. "I think our love story is perfect the way it is. I got to experience your friendship before becoming your lover, and I think that was the best way for it to happen. I think our love will stand the test of time because we had a friendship first. Not many people can say they fell in love with their best friend."

Zeke could agree with that. "I love you so much. Thank you for allowing me the privilege to call you my wife," he said before kissing her. They were oblivious to the crowd watching them and taking photographs.

They were currently in a world that only involved Sydney and Zeke.

  ≈

The wedding reception went into full swing after the first dance. Everyone was having a great time dancing the night away. After dinner was served, and the toasts were made, the staff rolled out a massive cake, and everyone waited for Zeke and Sydney to cut it. They all looked around the room, but the newly married couple was nowhere in sight.

"Has anyone seen the bride and groom?" The DJ asked the crowd.

Zeke and Sydney weren't in the ballroom, but were back in the bridal suite on the couch making out. Sydney was sitting on top his lap in just her strapless bra and laced panties. Her wedding gown was on the floor near the door. Zeke was pressing soft kisses down her neck. "Do you think they've noticed we're gone?"

"I don't care," Zeke mumbled against her skin. He made sure to lock the door just in case someone came looking for them. With expert hands, he removed her bra and threw it on the ground. When Zeke placed his mouth on Sydney's breasts and started French kissing her nipple, she forgot about the large group of people attending their wedding reception. She moaned and grinded against him.

Zeke couldn't wait to consummate their marriage later that night when they arrived in Mexico. He wanted to make love to his wife right here and now. He moved from her breast and started kissing back on her neck. "Say it," he whispered in her ear.

Sydney giggled. "Say what?" she teased.

Zeke stood up with Sydney and laid her back on the couch. He took off his dress shirt and unbuttoned his pants. "You know what I want you to say." He continued to strip until he was naked standing in front of his wife.

Sydney remained ignorant. "I have no clue what you're talking about."

  Zeke placed hi
s body over Sydney's. He kissed down her body until he reached her panties. The slow anticipation was killing her. She was stubborn, and Zeke knew this was the best way to get what he wanted. Zeke buried his head in between her legs and stroked Sydney's pussy with his tongue. Even with the barrier there, she still felt the shocks radiate through her body.

"Say your name." Zeke moved her panties to the side and placed one of his fingers inside of her.

  "Sydney."

He stuck a second finger inside. "What's your new name?"

  "Sydney Alexis."

  “You’re still playing games.”

He removed his fingers and ripped her panties off before diving head first into her honey pot. Sydney tried to move, but Zeke wasn't letting her get away, so he held her down by the waist. It wasn't long before an orgasm took over her. When her body stopped shaking, Zeke kissed back up her body. "What's your name?"

  "Sydney Alexis Coleman."

Hearing it turned him on even more. He spread her legs and eased inside of her. "Say it again."

"Sydney. Alexis. Coleman,” she said slowly with more emphasis.

"That's the sexiest thing I ever heard," Zeke stated as he continued to make love to his wife.

  ≈

Mr. and Mrs. Coleman returned to the wedding reception and finished out the celebration before hopping on a plane for their honeymoon. Zeke attacked Sydney again when they crossed the threshold. Sydney ended up falling asleep, satisfied and exhausted.

She didn’t wake up until the following morning to the sound of her phone chirping with new messages. She silenced it before putting it back into the nightstand. She and Zeke made an agreement to not answer their phones during the honeymoon. Their parents had the number to the hotel just in case an emergency happened.

Sydney laid back in bed and snuggled into the blankets. She rolled over and came into contact with a piece of paper. It was a note from Zeke.

I went to get breakfast. Go back to sleep- Love, your husband

Sydney smiled when she read the note. Zeke was bossy when it came to her, and she had the tendency to not listen to him, so she hopped out of bed and went to shower. She was in the process of brushing her teeth when a bout of nausea developed. Sydney rushed to the toilet. A moment later, she was able to stand and rinse her mouth out.

  Something was wrong.

She realized that the last time she felt this way was during her pregnancy with the twins. She wondered if she could be pregnant again. She never went back on birth control after the miscarriage and Zeke also didn’t use protection when they were intimate, so there was a strong possibility that she was. Sydney didn’t want to be disappointed, but couldn’t go throughout the day not knowing. After getting dressed in some jean shorts and a white tank top, she decided to take a trip to the store.

  ≈

Zeke came back to the suite with food and searched for Sydney. He panicked after finding the room empty, but relaxed when the door opened, and she walked in.

“Didn’t I tell you to stay in bed and sleep?”

She smiled and dropped her bag on the floor. “When do I ever listen to you?”

Zeke chuckled. “Never, but now you're my wife and you're supposed to obey your husband."

Sydney placed a chaste kiss on his lips. "If you wanted a submissive wife, you married the wrong woman."

"No, I married the right one," Zeke stated before kissing her on the lips again. He couldn’t get enough of her. "I know it’s been less than twenty-four hours, but I love being married to you,” he admitted.

  "I do, too.”

Zeke slapped her on the ass. “Where did you go?”

“I wasn’t feeling well when I woke up, so I went to the pharmacy.”

  “Are you okay?”

Sydney grinned. “I’m better than okay. I got you an early birthday gift.” She went to get her bag from the floor.

  “My birthday is next month.”

“I know, but this can’t wait.”

Sydney stood in front of him and placed a plain white box in his hands. Zeke eyed it suspiciously before opening the container. He inhaled when he saw the pregnancy test. “Syd?”

She reached inside and pulled the test out. “Happy Birthday. You’re going to be a daddy.”

Zeke couldn’t believe it. He knew that it was going to be difficult for Sydney to carry a child due to her miscarriage, so he never brought up having more kids. He couldn’t believe the blessing they’d received.

Zeke lifted her into the air and spun her around the room. “Thank you.”

Sydney laughed. “I should be thanking you. We’re having a baby,” she wept.

“Yeah, we are.” Zeke kissed away her tears before placing his lips on her.

  Epilogue

First comes love, then comes marriage, and then comes Sydney with a baby carriage

Zeke was the epitome of a proud father as he held baby Teddy in his arms. Six weeks ago, he stood by Sydney’s side and coached her through the process of giving birth. It was a painful experience for his wife, and a gruesome one for him to see. but in the end they got what they both wanted. A baby.

Today the Adams and Coleman crew were together to celebrate Teddy’s baptism. The family and friends were present to join in the festivities at Zeke and Sydney’s home. Theodore Christopher Coleman was the first grandchild for Samuel and Theresa and the third for Pearl. He was the apple of everyone’s eye. Whoever came into contact with the chubby baby instantly fell in love with him. He was the greatest gift.

  “Give me my grandbaby.”

Zeke turned to see his mother standing beside him with her arms reached out. He hesitantly gave his son away. “Don’t spoil him, Ma.”

“Hush up. I know what I’m doing.”

She walked away and started to flaunt her grandson to everyone. Zeke chuckled at the sight. He remembered his father saying that Pearl was spoiled and always got her way. His father was right.

Zeke searched the crowd until he found his wife talking amongst a group of women. Sydney looked unbelievable. She was an incredible mother and partner, and Zeke counted his blessings every day that she was a part of his life. The pregnancy was difficult because she often thought of the twins, but they were able to get through the rough times together.

He went and stole her away from the group. “Excuse us, ladies. I need to speak with my wife.”

The women were susceptible to Zeke’s charm. They didn’t protest as he to led Sydney away towards their deck area.

As they settled on the swing, Sydney noticed that he had a cheeky grin on his face. “What’s going on in that head of yours, Mr. Coleman?”

“Do you know what today is?”

“No,” she lied. Of course she knew, he made sure to drop hints throughout the week.

“Our son is six weeks old, which means you should be ready to-“

“Go back to work?” Sydney answered.

“No, go back on this dick.”

Sydney blushed. She looked around to make sure no one overheard him. Most were out in the yard near a fire pit that was set up. There was a slight chill on this particular October day.

“Since when did you become a pervert?”

“Since I married my best friend,” he replied.

Sydney laughed and pressed a soft kiss to his lips. “After everyone leaves, we can be perverts together. Be patient.”

“No. Let’s kick everyone out.” He looked at the crowd. “I don’t even know some of these people.” Most were familiar, but there were still a few strangers.

Sydney looked over at the group. “You know Sean and his daughter Destiny.”

Zeke looked at the troubled teen. He hoped that if he ever had a daughter, she would be the opposite of Destiny Garrison. “True, but who is she?”

Sydney saw Zeke nod his head towards Johari. “That’s Johari. She’s taking care of the store while I’m on maternity leave. She’s the new store manager.”

He faintly remembered Sydney talking abou
t Johari. “Right.” He continued to study her. “Why is she so skittish?”

Sydney lowered her voice as a few people walked by them. “She was in an abusive relationship. I’m hoping that she and Sean can hit it off.”

“I don’t know babe; Jonathan seems to have his eye on her.”

It looked like a future love triangle. Zeke wondered how Sean’s daughter was going to handle it if her father decided to date.

Sydney’s focus switched from Sean and Destiny over to her brother-in-law. He was talking with a young woman Sydney didn’t recognize. “Has Ethan said anything about Sierra lately?”

Zeke shook his head. “Ethan is dating other women. He’s tired of waiting for Sierra. He wants more than just sex.”

The cuddy buddy relationship ended when Ethan proposed marriage to Sierra. Of course Sierra said no, which left Ethan heartbroken. The incident happened after Zeke and Sydney’s wedding. Months had passed, but Sydney was hoping the crazy couple could reconcile. She believed that Ethan and Sierra belonged together.

  “Oh no.”

“Oh yes.” Zeke nuzzled Sydney's neck and wrapped his hands around her waist. It was crazy that just a few weeks ago his son was there. Teddy’s birth was one of the best moments of his life. Meeting and marrying Sydney was also high on the list.

“How does it feel to be a mother?”

“Incredible. I can’t wait to have more of your babies.” Sydney turned in his arms. “How does it feel to share me?”

Zeke found his son being passed around by various family members. Besides the woman in his arms, Teddy was the most important person in his life. “He’s the only other male I’m willing to share you with.”

Zeke ended the conversation with a kiss on Sydney’s lips. They became lost in one another and briefly forgot about their surroundings.
