Bone Crier's Dawn Page 34

by Kathryn Purdie

The book subscription box companies who introduced this series to several thousand new readers. Extra-special thanks goes to OwlCrate, FairyLoot, LitJoy Crate, and The Bookish Box.

My husband, Jason, who continues to show me tremendous support and who is my most passionate reader. His overprotectiveness of my main characters is adorable.

My children: Isabelle, for inspiring me with her music; Aidan, for helping me choreograph tricky moves in fight scenes; and Ivy, for reminding me what is most important in life.

My writing friends, especially Jodi Meadows, Erin Summerill, Lindsey Leavitt Brown, Kerry Kletter, Ilima Todd, Robin Hall, and Emily Prusso. Here’s a shout-out to my besties, Sara B. Larson and Emily R. King, who deserve the sweetest spot in Elara’s Paradise for all the time and love they have given me this past year.

My French friends, Sylvie, Karine, and Agnés. This series wouldn’t exist without the impact each of you had on me when I was a teenager. Thank you for your genuine sisterhood.

My father, Larry. I felt you with me when I wrote the scene where Bastien speaks with his deceased father at the end of the book. His words to Bastien became your words to me.

My mother, Elizabeth (Buffie). You are a goddess, through and through. Thank you for raising me to believe I was capable of wonders. I still depend on your unshakable belief in me.

And to God. I can’t imagine living a single day without knowing You are real, infinitely merciful, and rooting for me with perfect love and patience. Thank You for true grace.
