Opal (Rugged Skulls MC Book 2) Page 23

by Amy Davies

She’s just as stunning as her brother, with the dirty blond hair and piercing blue eyes, which I now know they got from their father. It will be weird with him not being here today for Opal. He passed away years ago, but his mom is here with bells on. She’s a character in her own right.

“I know.” I fan my hands in front of my face, and thankfully it helps. “You guys have all been amazing with Tucker and me, and I am so grateful for that,” I tell her honestly.

“I’m grateful that you leave your boy around me unsupervised, so we are even. Now tell me, which of these boys are still single? Please tell me that Sarge is still single?” she pleads, but I know I need to deter her for Estelle’s sake. Sighing, I turn to look at her, taking her hand in mine and making a dramatic scene of it.

  “He’s taken, sorry, sweets.”

“Did someone say my name?” Sweets walks into the room with Risky, Ida and Estelle right behind her.

“Kind of. I was telling my future sister-in-law that Sarge is taken,” I say, eyeing Estelle. Her body tenses at his name but she says nothing.

“Well shit. Will she be here today? I want to meet the woman who’s tamed that man.”

Estelle tenses again, and I see Suzie’s eyes float to her, and a wicked glint appears. I shake my head at her, but she smiles at me before touching my hair, adjusting the stunning diamond headband with a delicate veil that only covers a part of my head. It goes perfectly with my pixie cut.

“So, Miss Estelle, you’ve tamed the broody bastard that is Sarge,” Suzie states. Estelle’s head snaps up and her cheeks are flushed red. Shaking her head, she answers her.

“No. Umm, it’s complicated,” Estelle stammers.

This isn’t her. She’s normally so strong and independent. She never lets anyone walk over her, which is why she rebelled from her parents so often. That’s why she walked away from them to branch out on her own, even pregnant.

“Well uncomplicate it, woman. Claim that sexy ass now before someone else moves in,” Suzie states, not realizing what she just said, or she did but wanted to push Estelle.

“If you want him that much, then you make a move. He hates me, so there is and never will be anything there,” Estelle snaps, getting to her feet, her face red with anger.

“I do not touch other women’s men,” Suzie says, then walks over to my dress that’s hanging on the door, effectively ending the conversation.

I look at all the girls and Risky winks at me, before stepping to Estelle and calming her down.

With Estelle, Risky, Ida and Suzie in front of me, I admire their dresses. I went with a navy blue strapless, knee-length dress, except for Estelle, who has thin straps on hers because her boobs have gone huge since the pregnancy. They each have a pretty sunflower pulling one side of their wavy hair back. I told them to select their own shoes. They are all in killer heels, except for Estelle, who is in kitten heels.

  “Beautiful, ladies,” I choke out.

“Hey, take the ‘lady’ part back, woman,” Risky demands, but with a smile on her face. We laugh for a second until Suzie helps me into my dress.

I went with a satin ivory dress. The front is high, and the straps over my shoulder go down into a deep ‘V’, leaving my back completely bare. The skirt flares out at the waist but it’s not overly dramatic, just enough for me.

The girls help me step into the dress, then add my shoes. I step over to the mirror and hear them clap and giggle with happiness. The tall standing mirror gives me an unbridled view of myself and I want to cry. I never thought I would get married again, yet here I am marrying the man that completely and irrevocably owns my heart and soul.

Smoothing my hands down the front of my dress, I turn to face the girls. I see tears and I chuckle at them.

“No tears. That’s an order, ladies,” I tell them, and they laugh.

A knock comes at the door and Risky pulls it open and smiles back at me as Tucker steps into the room. A happy cry leaves my mouth when I see him. One thing Opal wanted was for me not to see what the men were wearing to the wedding; he knew it would drive me crazy. But looking at Tucker, I can tell he did good.

“You like, Mom? Dad did good. He asked me what I wanted to wear.” Tucker stands proud in his white shirt with the sleeves rolled up and his black slacks with suspenders and a black tie.

“Oh, baby, you look amazing. You both did so good.” That’s when I notice the little box he’s holding. “Is that for me?” I ask, and he nods. He opens the box for me. I give him a watery smile when I see what’s inside.

Nestled inside is a silver chain with three opals cradled in silver oval frames. It’s simply stunning. I drop down on my haunches as Tucker pulls the bracelet out and places it on my wrist, before leaning in to kiss my cheek.

“I love you, Mom. Dad said this is one opal for each of us, and he will get you a new one when more babies arrive.” I giggle at his smile because he looks so proud that he said all of that.

“I love you too, and I love your Dad.”

“Little man, are you done? We need to get this wedding started,” Rookie’s voice comes through the door, and Tucker runs for it, swinging it open. All the girls sway when they see Rookie standing there in a man version of what Tucker is wearing, his muscles making the material pull tight on his biceps.

“Ladies, you’re a sight to see, but you,” he says, looking at me, “are fucking beautiful beyond belief. My brother is some lucky sod.” I blush and he winks, before closing the door.

“Okay, woman, let’s get you married to my brother.”

“I can’t believe we pulled this off in four weeks,” I mutter happily and pick up my bouquet, which is sunflowers with some baby’s breath mixed in. The bridesmaids have similar bouquets with smaller sunflowers with some navy flowers and baby’s breath. The men have a sunflower boutonniere, with some greenery and thread wrapped around the stems.

“Let’s go do this,” Risky states, handing each of the girls their flowers.

We exit the room and my heart is racing with excitement of being Mrs. Bryant and married to the man that owns my heart. We walk through Magnum and Risky’s home, to the wedding party.

We decided to get married on the club property. I know the men spent most of the day yesterday adding poles to attach the fairy lights and flowers. The haybales with planks of wood for seating look simply amazing.

I see all our family and friends in their seats.

Looking down the aisle, I see him, Stefan Bryant. My Opal.

My breath hitches when I see him smile at me, which I return. It’s like I’ve been waiting for this day all my life. I finally feel home. This man is my home.

“Are you ready, sweetheart?” I look to my dad and smile. He looks good for his age. He’s dressed almost the same as Opal and the boys, but he’s wearing a blazer.

“I am,” I say, swallowing the emotion down.

“I love you, Jodie. Me and Mom are so proud of you. You couldn’t have picked a better man,” my dad tells me.

“Couldn’t agree with you more, Daddy.”

Bringing my gaze back to Opal, I see Magnum standing next to him, proud as chips to be up there as the best man, along with Sarge. Colt is marrying us since he got ordained years ago.

The girls walk ahead of me and I see Kara take Tucker’s hand and walk down the aisle, followed by Estelle and Slide, who is getting the death stare from Sarge. Then Lash and Sweets, Slade and Ida, then Rookie and Suzie.

Me and my father walk down behind them, my gaze locked in a loving pull toward the man of my dreams. Opal may not have been on my radar when I moved here, but I have to believe that this is where I’m meant to be. I was meant to meet him. He was brought into our lives to protect and love us.

“Take care of her, Opal. She’s my only baby girl. My grandson thinks the world of you. Do not break them or I will break you,” my dad says when we reach him. Opal gives him a chin lift and faces me.

As we stand and stare, our family and friends fade away.
It’s just us. Jodie and Stefan.

Just where I want to be. Just like my heart whispered, ‘He’s the one.’

  Opal

Holy shit, she is fucking beautiful. Standing before me is an absolute angel, and she is all mine.

Being right in this spot with her was always meant to be. When I was in the Army, I always wanted someone to come home to after my deployment, but things changed. She’s the reason why I never settled down. My soul knew it was waiting for her.

We haven’t known each other long, but I feel deep in my heart and soul that I knew she was out there waiting for me.

“Okay, let’s get this show on the road. I know a bunch of dirty bikers who want to eat like pigs and drink like sailors. So, Opal and Jodie didn’t want traditional wedding vows, so here we go,” Colt says. “Jodie…”

Estelle hands Jodie my ring, something I never thought I would be wearing. We went with a black band with a line of blue opals running through the center. Taking a deep breath, she starts.

“Because of you, I laugh, I smile, and I dare to dream more than I ever have. Thank you for the miracle of you. You are and always will be the love of my life, my soulmate, my person.” She gives me a brilliant smile and I bring her hands to my mouth and kiss her knuckles. She mouths, ‘I love you’.

“Opal,” Colt urges, reminding us that he’s here with us. Magnum hands me Jodie’s ring. To match her engagement ring, she has a white gold band with a line of white opals running through the center.

I slide the ring halfway down her delicate finger and say my part.

“With this ring I give you my heart and soul. I promise from this day forward you shall never walk alone. My arms will be your shelter and my heart will be your home. You will never learn what it’s like to never be loved or cherished. I am and forever will be yours.” Pushing the ring the rest of the way, I bring her hands to my mouth again and kiss them.

“Uncle Mag, is it my turn?” Tucker says, and Magnum nods. I look at Jodie, who shrugs.

“You may not be my real dad, but you are a man that will teach me things my real dad didn’t. I know you love my mom and you love me but guess what?” he asks.

  “What?” I ask.

“I love you too. So does my mom, otherwise she wouldn’t have married you.”

The crowd laugh and clap. Tucker smiles a big bright smile and bows to the guests.

“Okay, you little shit, stop stealing your parents’ thunder,” Colt chimes in, smiling from ear to ear.

“Anyone want to stop these two from getting married? No? Good. Jodie, you will never find a man better for Tucker and you, so I wish you all the happiness for the future. You need to get into making more babies, since my boy doesn’t seem to be doing the job right,” he jokes, and Magnum flips him off.

“Okay then, I now pronounce you man and wife. Stefan and Jodie and little Tuck are now one. No one stands alone.”

I slide my hand around her neck and pull her to me, slamming my mouth on hers. Taking her as a husband takes his loving wife. I brand her in front of everyone important in my life.

Our tongues dance and play as the guests cheer and bellow into the evening air, but my attention is on my wife. Fucking hell, my wife. Never thought I would say that, but it feels so good.

“Wife, I need you. I want to see what you have on under this dress.” I nip at her bottom lip. She smiles against my mouth, before moving her mouth to my ear and whispering, “Nothing.”

The party is in full swing. Music is blasting, kids are running around hyped up on sugar. The brothers are drinking, laughing and joking around with each other. This is the perfect wedding for me, nothing over frilly or high maintenance. I was lucky that Jodie wanted a low-key wedding.

“You okay, honey?” I turn to see Jodie stepping up to me, wrapping an arm around my waist. I lean in to kiss her red lips and naughty thoughts come to mind after Magnum telling me about him and Kara with the red lipstick.

“Hell yeah. I want to see that red lipstick leave marks on my cock as you suck your husband off.” I kiss her neck and she shivers.

Ever since she told me at the alter that she wasn’t wearing any underwear, my cock has been screaming for her. The poor bastard probably has permanent dents from the zipper of my slacks.

“Later,” she promises. “Have you been watching Sarge? I’m worried with the shit he has been throwing Estelle’s way. I’m not going to bite my tongue anymore, babe,” she tells me.

“Baby, they need to work their own shit out. Stay out of it, okay?”

“Nope. She’s pregnant, Opal. Stress is not good for her or the baby,” is her reply as she turns and glares at Sarge. He’s sitting next to Edge, drinking a bottle of whiskey and glaring at Estelle again.

“I’ll have a word,” I tell her and pull her in for a kiss again.

We break the kiss and watch the kids and some of the women dance around the makeshift dancefloor we made. Tucker looks like he’s having a hell of a time dancing with Farrah.

“Brother,” Magnum greets as he approaches us with a white box in his hand. He winks at Jodie, before leaning in to kiss her cheek. “Congrats again, DD.”

“Ha ha, funny,” she replies, giving him a fake scowl.

Everyone stops and looks at us. This is another big moment in the club, handing over my property patch to my woman.

“Open it,” I tell Jodie as I hold the box out for her. Her smile is wide and bright as she lifts the box lid up. She lets out a squeal then quickly pulls out the cut that carries my name

“Ohmygod, I love it,” she whispers to me, her eyes filled with tears as she slides the brand-new leather cut over her bare shoulders.

My woman. My wife stands before me in her ivory wedding dress, with no fucking panties on and wearing my patch. Best fucking day ever.

Jodie leans into me and I kiss her senseless, knowing I can do this for the rest of my life and no fucker will stop me and I will never get enough. Her lips are smooth, soft, and warm and pliable against my own. I reach down and cup her ass, pulling her tight against me before whispering her ear.

“I’m home, baby,” I tell her.

My eyes scan over to my brothers. I see Slide lick his lips as his gaze zones in on Farrah, and I know what he’s about to say. I can see it in his eyes. I just hope the stupid fucker doesn’t regret it in the morning.

He’s one of the sex-led brothers of the club, but one day, a woman will knock him on his ass and hold him there.

“DIBS!” he bellows, holding his beer up in a toast.

“Oh hell, here we go again,” Risky yells.

Everyone laughs, not really knowing who he called dibs on. But I know, and if he wants her, she will know soon enough.

With everyone from the club here, we dance, we love, and we show loyalty.

  No one stands alone.
