  Acknowledgments

A lot of inspiration goes into writing my books. This particular novel has been brewing for years, and is particularly close to my heart. I wanted to write a heroine who was stronger than she had any right to be. With mental toughness, grit and tenacity that would rival any hero. I wanted a role model type of heroine that any woman would aspire to look up to. A woman who overcomes obstacles and conquers fears with fragility, but also accomplishes things deemed impossible. A woman who is enough all by herself, but chooses true love when it’s within arm’s reach, and a destiny is recognized.

When I was invited to write in Corinne’s Salvation Society World, I knew it was time for this very particular type of hero to shine. It was Aarabelle’s turn. To have this opportunity to take a character born into Special Forces world and give her everything she’s ever dreamed of was ruthlessly beautiful for my muse. Pairing her with a Hart man? The icing on the cake. I knew my Crazy Good world colliding with the Salvation World would be an effortless blend, but I didn’t realize how much of my heart would pour onto these pages.

Thank you to Corinne, for lending me your world to bring the world this story. This epic love story wouldn’t be possible without you. Playing in your world was insanely gratifying and fun.

Thank you as always, to my husband, who serves as my muse in almost every way possible. Please don’t buy any Hawaiian shirts, though. We’re not quite on that level yet.

My editors, Ellie McLove and Julie Wells, for polishing my words, and fixing timelines that I abhor with a passion of a thousand suns. I love you. Your skills mean everything to me.

My readers. You guys are seriously the best. Thank you for coming along this journey with me. Sometimes it’s angsty and sad, and sometimes it’s funny and romantic. Every word I write is because of you. You’re the ones breathing life into my characters. Every time you tell a friend to read my books, leave a review, or send me a gushing private message, you’re making more stories possible.

Blair Madison. My daughter. You won’t read this novel for many years (I hope.) When you do, you might see yourself shining back at you on these pages, a glaring juxtaposition of being born to a hero, but also being born a woman. You are strong and resilient. You will move mountains and people might gawk, or tell you that’s not the lane you should be in. I’m here to tell you anything is possible. Even the impossible. Don’t stop striving to be the best you can be, and don’t slow down for anyone who doesn’t value you or your goals. And maybe, just maybe, along the way, you’ll find a man strong enough to let you catch yourself. That’s how you’ll know he’s a keeper. He will love you, and it will be wonderful, but not mandatory.

Because you love yourself. Just the way you are.
