“I wanted to talk a few nights ago and you cut me off,” Sebastian said, butting in.
“Because the conversation was over before it started, plus it was old news. I moved on and you should too,” I replied.
“Yeah, until you think somebody is callin’ my phone,” he replied.
“I’m going upstairs,” Naya said.
“Me, too,” Trell replied.
They both went upstairs while me and Sebastian stared at each other.
“It’s been three days and you’re still mad at me! This is crazy!”
“What’s crazy is protecting that old ass nigga,” he said.
“Do you want to break up with me?”
“No,” he said.
“I’ll tell Tryst when the time is right. He has a lot on his plate especially since Jonna is back in the picture.”
“You’re right,” he replied.
Sebastian grabbed me around the waist, pulling me down on the couch.
“Those three days without barely talkin’ was rough,” he said.
“You wanna christen the bathroom?”
Sebastian’s dick was pressed against my leg while he caressed my pussy through my shorts.
“We have to lock the door upstairs,” I said between kisses.
Sebastian took off his shirt as I took off mine. He got up to lock the door while I was getting undressed. I was completely naked when he came back downstairs. He sat on the couch and pulled down his baller shorts and boxers. One of my favorite positions was to ride him backwards. I sat on his lap and he pulled me up to lower me onto his dick.
“Ummmm,” he groaned.
Sebastian rubbed my clit as I rhythmically rode him. Feeling his lips on my back sent chills up my spine. My center was releasing the love juice that we made. The sloppy sounds of wetness bounced off the walls with the movement of my hips. I was the spoon in the pot of soup as my hips circled in motion. My nails were buried deep into his thighs while I popped my ass out to speed it up. Sebastian was sucking on the back of my neck while squeezing and fondling my erect nipples.
“I wanna marry you, Deerie. I wanna feel this forever,” Sebastian moaned.
His dick hardened, as I bounced a little so the tip of him could hit my spot. I would’ve sounded like an 808 bass if we were in the house alone.
“Go further! Ummmmm go further!” I said while he pushed himself upwards. I rubbed my clit the same way you play a guitar. My essence splashed onto the carpet and ran down Sebastian’s leg like water because I squirted. At one point in my life I thought I was peeing and was embarrassed behind it until Sebastian looked it up. It turned him on so much he pre-came whenever I came in his mouth.
He wrapped his arms around me while he jerked inside me. I hopped off because he was supposed to pull out.
“Why didn’t you warn me?”
“It was too good,” he panted.
“We don’t need to make that mistake again.”
I grabbed a towel and Lysol to clean off the couch. Sebastian used a washcloth to dry the floor. It was messy but worth it. His phone rang while we were cracking jokes on each other. He picked it up off the floor, and I waited for him to answer it.
“Let me guess, you don’t know who it is?”
“Sometimes I go to city hall to do a few things with my father. It could be someone from there,” he said.
“Why don’t you answer if it’s someone from there? Do I look stupid, Sebastian? We went through this shit a year ago!”
“And you taught me a lesson. I swear I’m not fuckin’ up!” he replied back.
I hated getting emotional, but he was testing me again. The pain he caused me was a hard pill to swallow. His phone rang again, and I snatched it from him. His chasing me around was all the confirmation I needed.
“Who is this?” I answered.
“It’s Miranda, umm did I call the right number? I’m lookin’ for Sebastian,” she said.
“This is his girlfriend. Who are you?”
“He can tell you about me,” she said before hanging up.
Sebastian was now sitting on the couch, since he gave up chasing me as soon as I answered his phone.
“Miranda said you can tell me about her. So, tell me.”
“It’s not what you think,” he said.
“TELL ME!”
“She’s an intern at my father’s office. One night me and a few others went out after work. I slept with her, but it only happened once,” he said.
“That’s all you had to tell me. We can get through this together.”
Sebastian scratched his head with a dumb look on his face.
“Nope, I’m out. I know what type of games you play,” he said.
He put his clothes on and was ready to leave but I stopped him. “It only happened one time, right? I’m not gonna lose you to a slut, Sebastian. We’ve come this far, remember?”
“It won’t happen again. I’ve been fucking up in school and my parents have been riding my ass lately about bullshit ass politics. I’m stressed out,” he said.
I hugged him. “I’m here, Sebastian,” I said. He squeezed me tight, promising he wasn’t going to hurt me again.
I loved Sebastian, but I knew in my heart why we were holding on to each other. He was scared of me because he knew what I was capable of and I was afraid to let him ago completely, so he wouldn’t turn on me. We shared a secret that could have us locked up for life. But this time, I could no longer hold on. I was done with Sebastian, but I needed a favor from him before we parted ways…like getting police records from someone I needed dirt on. In the meantime, I had to kiss Sebastian’s ass.
Tryst
Five days later…
“It feels different with us being here by ourselves. I miss the other house already where you can walk to the corner liquor stores,” Dream said. We were in the kitchen because she was preparing breakfast.
“I don’t miss the bars we had to put in the windows, so nobody would break in. Besides, people knew where I was laying my head at, including that nigga you were fuckin’.”
Dream slammed my plate on the counter and the eggs fell onto the floor.
“What you mad for?”
“Why do you keepin’ bringin’ that up?” she asked.
“You’re the one trippin’.”
“Can we move past this?” she asked.
“If I couldn’t, I wouldn’t be here.”
She rolled her eyes and I shrugged it off. Dream made me blueberry pancakes, Chesapeake scrambled eggs, fried potatoes and turkey sausage. She was insecure about the Tierra situation which pushed her to do the things she used to do. She was also making it a point to give me the pussy three to four times a day and was waking me up in the morning with my dick in her mouth.
“Are you gonna help me hang up the pictures today?” she asked while pouring us a glass of orange juice.
“I gotta take care of a few things. First, I have to stop at Tierra’s crib then later I have to meet up with Bentley.”
“Cool. I gotta go to Newtowne to see Naya,” she replied.
“No, you’re not and Naya isn’t supposed to be down there neither. What if Rizzo wants to get back at me through you? He’s quiet now but that doesn’t mean shit, Dream. Stay away from that hood. Didn’t we just move Naya into a condo anyway? You dead ass can’t have any connections with that place anymore.”
“My father has been gone since I was a little girl, so I can do without one right now. What if my mother comes back? We go there for that reason only,” she said.
“Can you pass me the syrup?”
“You have to stop actin’ like you’re our father. Trell, Naya, Deerie and even me feel like little children around you,” she said.
“Can you hand me the syrup?”
Dream slid the syrup across the kitchen island while grilling me. I had a lot of shit to take care, so I couldn’t have the conversations she wanted from me; it would turn into a two-day argument.
“Ignore me all you
want because I’m gonna go to that apartment until I can’t go anymore,” she said.
“Thanks for the breakfast, Yomi.”
She took her plate out of the kitchen, mumbling underneath her breath and all I could make out was me being controlling. They blamed me for keeping them close to make sure they were straight. I finished my breakfast before going to the living room. Dream was watching TV. She didn’t touch her food and her eyes were slightly drooping. Dream went to the hospital a couple of days prior because she was having these episodes. I thought she was pregnant, but she was having really bad cases of anxiety.
“Did you take your anxiety pills?”
“I just took them,” she replied.
“We can talk when I get back later on tonight.”
“Okay, be safe,” she said dryly.
I sat next to her on the couch and she rested her head on my shoulder. Dream always smelled good, she even woke up smelling fresh.
“You good?”
“Yes, I’m good,” she said.
I kissed her forehead after I covered her with a blanket. She told me she loved me while I was on my way out the door. I sent Tierra a text letting her know I was on my way…
**********
“Why am I short?” I asked Tierra.
She was holding ten bricks for me underneath the basement floor a week before. Somehow, I was short two bricks which meant I was missing out on forty-four g’s. Bentley’s cut on the bricks was half which meant one-hundred and ten g’s belonged to me. Bentley was going to get his money regardless, but I was the one taking the “L.”
“There’s only three people who know where you stash them at. You know I wouldn’t steal from you,” she said.
“I don’t know shit! One of y’all muthafuckas took my shit! You think I’m stupid, huh? You gettin’ high again?”
“Get out of my house!” she said.
“This is my house! The fuck you mean get out? I moved your ass, so you could work for me in peace without havin’ someone run up in here and take my shit. Tell me where it’s at, Tierra.”
“I don’t have it!” she said.
“Are you tellin’ me someone robbed you?”
“I’m tellin’ yah black ass that I don’t know what happened! I’ve had your back since you were seventeen and didn’t know a damn thing about this. I molded you into a man the minute you showed up on my doorstep with a duffle bag of bricks that you didn’t know what to do with. You will respect me in MY house!” she said.
“You have a past of gettin’ high. If you need help, just tell me. I know you didn’t smoke it all so give me the rest of it and I can forget about this. All you have to do is tell me what’s up.”
“I didn’t take it!” she said.
Tierra shoved the backpack at me after she was done packing it with the bricks.
“Now you wanna start feelin’ yourself. You’ll be apologizing very soon,” she said. She called Trell on speakerphone. Trell had been rocking with me for a minute and nothing ever came up missing.
“Tryst is missing two of them, Trell. I know you know somethin’ because I didn’t touch them,” Tierra said when Trell answered the phone.
“Tell him I’ll talk about it later. Me and J-Breezy are ready to get into somethin’ so tell big bro we’ll talk later,” he said.
Tierra hung up the phone then gave me that “I told you so” look.
“Don’t hurt him, Tryst. Whatever he did I’m sure he had a good reason,” Tierra said.
“That nigga really stole from me. I give him a cut every time and he’s gonna pull this shit?”
“I have money saved up. I can pay you whatever and he can pay me back,” she said.
“Naw, you can’t keep babyin’ him up. He knows what to do.”
“Since we figured that out, have you taken care of that situation with the girl, Jonna, you told me about? Did the DNA test come back yet?” she replied.
“Not yet but that lil’ girl look like me.”
“You’re not giving Jonna money, are you? You need proof before you invest your time with her,” she said.
“Then I’ll fall back, but I know there is a chance she’s mine and that’s good enough, Tee. I don’t want to miss time in case she’s mine. I’m not going to make the same mistake David did with Trell.”
“That is exactly why you’re special,” she replied.
Tierra followed me upstairs while questioning me. She wanted something from me and was no longer hiding it. Tierra closed the door when I opened it.
“What is wrong wit’ me? For the past year I have been practically throwing myself at you,” she said. Tierra knew I was coming over, she always does. She always wore tight clothes when it was just me in her house. Plenty of times I could’ve smashed but I wasn’t trying to hurt Dream being as though Tierra came around her a lot of times.
“I got a shorty now, Tee. There’s a lot of niggas out here that can occupy your time. Lately you have been taking your mind away from business. All this other shit is dead, shorty.”
Tierra crossed her arms with her back against the door. I came over to her crib to get my shit and leave right back out. Dream would trip if I stayed at Tierra’s house for a long time.
“Dream is a prostitute. Everyone is talking about it and I heard out of some man’s mouth that he pays her for her time. It was the day I brought you those groceries and she was talking to a man who is old enough to be her father. Kabella gets her hair done at a salon in D.C. where one of my girlfriends works. Apparently, her and Dream got into it and she told all of her business. I’m worried about you gettin’ your heart broken by a whore,” she said.
“Kabella is hating because Trell doesn’t want her like that. You want to believe my shorty was sellin’ her pussy? You lost your fuckin’ mind, Tee.”
“She’s gonna hurt you so bad because you love her that much. Why can’t you see it? I’m surprised she hasn’t trapped you yet. She must think you’re a nickel and dime hustler,” she said.
“She counted my money before so she knows I’m not a lil’ street hustla, Tee. Now you, on the other hand, need to keep your nose out of my business or else we’re not gonna have any more business dealings. Hit me up when yah old ass gets out yo’ feelings.”
I moved her out of the way to open the door. It was getting deep for me and it was making my head spin. Trell stole from me, Jonna wanted to reconcile a high school love, Dream was hiding something from me and Tierra wanted me to fuck her. I had women problems even though only one had my heart. What Tierra said about Dream had to be a lie. There was no way my Dream could turn into a nightmare, I wouldn’t believe it.
Two hours later…
I stashed the bricks in the basement of my crib in Newtowne. Under the basement stairs, there was a hole in the brick wall. Afterwards, I had to meet Bentley in D.C. When I arrived to the spot he gave me the address to, it was an abandoned building. The area was in North East D.C. I would have thought he was trying to kill me if it was night time. The place was somewhere you could possibly dispose of a body. Bentley got out of his Rolls Royce wearing a suit.
“You’re twenty minutes late,” he said with an eyebrow raised.
“I couldn’t ride dirty and besides, D.C. traffic ain’t no joke.”
“Being late will cause you to lose money. Never forget that. Follow me,” he replied.
He used a key to get into the building. A big ass rat ran across the floor and the place smelled like piss and shit. There were sleeping bags scattered across the floor and needles. Homeless junkies must’ve broken in and were using the building as their home.
“This used to be a warehouse. It has been abandoned for three years. I bought this for you,” he said.
“I don’t want any handouts. We talked about this before.”
“It’s not up to you, son. Do you think pushing cocaine is enough? See, your father could’ve had more than those corner stores. This is a legit paper trail; how do you think my family survived? You’ll be a mi
llionaire in a few years if you take the lessons I’m giving you to your head,” he said.
“Why me, Bentley? I thought I was replacing my father because you wanted the money to keep coming in. Now you want me to run a business? I don’t know, Bentley, you’re giving me too much.”
“You’re like a son to me, Tryst. Do you know anything about your mother’s father?” he asked.
“He died before I was born.”
“If I die, you’ll get everything, which is why I wanted to show you the life. Maybe I was a little overbearing but I wanted to test your loyalty. I gave you an option: I kill your family, or you work for me to replace your father. You picked the position and you were only seventeen years old. You did it with courage, Tryst. This is my gift to you,” he said.
“Your wife should get everything.”
“My grandson will get everything since I don’t have a son,” he replied. Bentley went into his pocket and grabbed his wallet. He pulled out a picture and handed it to me. It was a picture of him and my mother.
“Kimberly is my daughter,” he said.
“What the fuck, bruh. You have been playing with my life all this time? You dragged me into this shit and pretended that you were gonna kill my family?”
“I put you where you belonged! And those threats can be made for good this time. You have a job to do, son, and I expect you to do it well. Your mother failed me, but you won’t. I was supposed to kill that little bitch the moment she betrayed this family! I spared her for you, but I’ll take it away and put her in the grave next to her whore of a mother,” he said.
“Draggin’ your son into the drug gang is normal to you?”
“Welcome to the real world. We do things we don’t want to do but a real man will sacrifice his happiness and even his life for the people he cares about. I know everyone in your circle, including that dope-head bitch Tierra. Oh, and that girl you’re with, the one with the boy haircut will sell for a lot of money if I sold her across seas. You know what they’ll do to that pretty bitch? They’ll rape her until her pussy is gone! You don’t have to like me, but you will carry on with this. The life you had as a little boy is gone! You are a MAN now so act like it. I’ve been running all of this since I was twenty-five years old. I’m sixty now so do the math. I deserve to call the muthafuckin’ shots as long as my blood flows through your veins,” he said.
