It was a golden world. Golden skies, golden lands, golden mountain peaks... Even the plants were golden.

“This is the Dragon God’s divine nation.”

A hint of a smile appeared on Meng Lei’s lips as he said, “I’ll see where you can escape this time, Dragon God!”

His divine cognition spread into the surroundings and instantly enveloped the whole area, almost ten million miles of where they were. Everything within the range was reflected clearly in Meng Lei’s mind.

Innumerable worshipers lived within the divine nation. There were Colossal Dragons, humans, Beast People, as well as a small number of Titans and Fairies.

All of them were people whose souls the Dragon God had led and guided to the divine nation after their deaths. Their bodies were subsequently also reconstructed. They had near-eternal lifespans and could endlessly provide power of faith.

“Eh? The Dragon God is actually not here!”

Meng Lei teleported to somewhere ten million miles away and continued to check the area.

Approximately half an hour later, Meng Lei had looked through the whole divine nation, yet he still didn’t find traces of the Dragon God.

  “He’s escaped!”

Meng Lei had a rather awful look on his face. The Dragon God was weak, so he didn’t think much of him. However, the Dragon God had tried to scheme and plot against him by every possible means. This greatly displeased Meng Lei, so he absolutely had to kill the Dragon God, yet he had actually escaped.

“Don’t panic. He’s likely only just escaped, so he couldn’t have gone far.” Dodola gave him a confident smile and said, “Let me look for him!”

Then, Dodola closed its eyes and began to try to sense the Dragon God’s presence. A brief moment later, it opened its eyes. A hint of a smile appeared at the corners of Dodola’s lips, and it said, “Fortunately, he hasn’t gone far yet.”

Meng Lei quickly asked, “Where is he?”

“I’ll bring you over, so don’t resist!”

Dodola gave him a smile, and then it released its divine cognition and enveloped Meng Lei within. By the time the duo reappeared, they were already within the vast and boundless Void.

Another floating continent appeared before their eyes.

A puzzled Meng Lei asked, “Where are we?”

“Somewhere a few hundred million miles from the Dragon God’s divine nation, I guess.” Dodola smiled and said, “The Dragon God whom you’re looking for is hiding right within that floating continent.”

“A few hundred million miles away?” Meng Lei gasped. “You’ve actually teleported such a great distance away during the one moment just now?”

“No, this isn’t teleportation.” Dodola shook its head. “Rather, it’s the Great World-Breaching Transfer Technique.”

  “The Great World-Breaching Transfer Technique?”

  Meng Lei was taken aback.

“It’s a kind of spatial secret art.” Dodola explained, “Only those that have comprehended some spatial laws of nature can practice it. Once it reaches Great Mastery-level, one will become able to go anywhere they want in the whole wide universe.”

“Anywhere they want in the whole wide universe? What a fearsome secret art!” Meng Lei was astounded. He urged, “Dodola, you’ve gotta teach me that!”

“You’re interested in learning it? We’ll talk about this again when you’ve comprehended spatial laws of nature instead.” Dodola rolled its eyes and said dryly, “Do you think the Great World-Breaching Transfer Technique is something that just anyone can pick up?”

“In that case, that means you’ve managed to comprehend spatial laws of nature?”

A huge jolt went through Meng Lei. His eyes bore into Dodola as he said, “Spatial laws of nature are one of the five currently known supreme laws of nature.

“I remember you mentioning that one can only comprehend spatial laws of nature if they’ve fully comprehended the five basic laws of nature—metal, wood, water, fire, and earth—and integrated them into one.

“Could it be that you’re a Great Perfection expert? And on top of that, you’re one that has comprehended spatial laws of nature?”

“I’m not a Great Perfection expert,” replied Dodola with a shake of its head.

Meng Lei frowned and said, “The fact that you can cast the Great World-Breaching Transfer Technique shows that you’ve already comprehended spatial laws of nature. Since that is so, then why aren’t you a Great Perfection expert?”

  “Meng Lei, you’re mistaken.”

A smiling Dodola shook its head and replied, “Normally, it is indeed true that only those that have fully comprehended the five basic laws of nature that are metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, and integrated them into one would be able to comprehend spatial laws of nature. However, apart from that, there are actually also other methods of achieving it.”

  “What methods are they?”

A look of puzzlement came over Meng Lei’s features.

“Comprehending a spatial laws of nature fragment!”

Chapter 320: 500 Existential Planes, The Down And Out Dragon God

“A spatial laws of nature fragment?”

Meng Lei was slightly taken aback. Did spatial laws of nature fragments exist in this world?

He frequently picked up the ten basic elements’ laws of nature fragments and had even picked up quite a few fusion laws of nature fragments before. However, he had never picked up supreme laws of nature fragments—such as spatial laws of nature fragments—before!

So, did supreme laws of nature fragments exist?

“Compared to basic elements’ laws of nature fragments, supreme laws of nature fragments are extremely rare. They are rarer than even Chief Gods and Great Perfection-level experts. However, every one of them is a priceless treasure. They are usually in the possession of Great Perfection-level experts and Chief Gods. How can ordinary deities possibly come into contact with them?”

Dodola explained, “In truth, even fusion laws of nature fragments are extremely rare and valuable, let alone supreme laws of nature fragments. Moreover, the more types of laws of nature the fragment has infused, the rarer and more valuable they are.”

Dodola turned to Meng Lei and said, “Take the Beast God, for example. If he had a double-elemental laws of nature fragment, wouldn’t he have been able to break through to become a higher deity?

“But the reality is that he doesn’t.

“Even a great pinnacle-level intermediate deity can’t get his hands on a double-elemental fusion laws of nature fragment. From this, you can easily imagine just how rare fusion laws of nature fragments are.”

  “That is certainly so.”

Meng Lei expressed agreement with Dodola’s views. This was something that he could sort of tell from the laws of nature fragments that he had picked up in the past.

He frequently picked up basic laws of nature fragments, but double-elemental fusion laws of nature fragments were a lot more uncommon.

There were even fewer triple-elemental fusion laws of nature fragments than that.

At the moment, he had only picked up one quadruple-elemental fusion laws of nature fragment, which was an ice-metal-dark-fire fusion.

As for quintuple-elemental ones, he didn’t even have a single one!

The more elements there were infused in the fragment, the rarer they were, indeed.

“Dodola, since your spatial laws of nature comprehension was gained through comprehending a spatial laws of nature fragment, then what happened to that spatial laws of nature fragment after that? Where is it?”

Meng Lei’s eyes shone brightly. Laws of nature fragments were just like textbooks of knowledge, and comprehending the laws of nature within them was comparable to learning the knowledge recorded in the textbooks. Laws of nature fragments would continue to exist even after one had comprehended them.

“What are you asking that for?”

  Dodola raised an eyebrow.

  “Give it to me!” Meng
Lei said excitedly, “As long as I can get that spatial laws of nature fragment, I’ll have a way to comprehend spatial laws of nature!”

  “You’re imagining things.”

A slight jolt went through Dodola, and it said, “That spatial laws of nature fragment is indeed with me, but as a form of supreme laws of nature, spatial laws of nature are billions and trillions of times more complex and profound than basic laws of nature. It’s not something that you can comprehend.”

“Say no more and just give it to me.” Meng Lei snickered and said, “Of course, if you also have other laws of nature fragments on you—such as quadruple-elemental or quintuple-elemental ones, or even supreme laws of nature fragments—you can also give them all to me!”

  “Dream on!”

Dodola had a wary look all over its face as it said, “I don’t mind telling you this—there are indeed quite a few laws of nature fragments of various types among the assets that the great God of Time left behind.

“But all of them belong to the God of Time. Before you pass the God of Time’s trial, I can’t give them to you!”

  “Dodola, you’re too inflexible.”

Meng Lei was rendered rather speechless. He said, “The God of Time has already fallen a long time ago. The so-called trial is also something that you’ve randomly set up. What sort of meaning does it even hold for me? Don’t you try bluffing me!”

Dodola sneered. “By the great God of Time’s order, one must pass the relevant trial before they can inherit all his assets. Otherwise, they can forget about even entertaining the thought!”

Meng Lei rolled his eyes and said, “Dodola, why are you so inflexible?”

“My life was bestowed upon me by the great God of Time. I will never defy his orders.” Dodola snorted and said, “It still goes back to the same old thing. If you wish to obtain the spatial laws of nature fragment and everything that belonged to the great God of Time, then you must pass the trial first!”

“You’re really so...” Meng Lei couldn’t be bothered to argue any further. He said, “So, tell me, what other trials are there?”

The first trial was to gain the Dragon God Empire’s people’s faith within 10,000 years. He had undoubtedly aced that with flying colors.

Dodola’s eyes swiveled about round and round. After a moment of contemplation, it said, “You’re already a higher deity now. As a powerful higher deity, how can you not own power of faith domains that complement your status?”

  “So?”

Meng Lei raised an eyebrow and prompted Dodola further.

“Your second trial is—expand your territory, occupy at least 100 material planes, and make them your, a higher deity’s, power of faith domains!” answered a smiling Dodola.

“100 power of faith domains?” Meng Lei frowned slightly. “Where am I supposed to find and occupy that many existential planes?”

  “It’s very simple!”

Dodola snickered and said, “Within an approximate range of 100 lightyears around Heaven’s Vault Continent exists many material planes that numbers definitely no fewer than 500. Among them are also the Beast God’s and the Titan Spiritual God’s power of faith domains.”

  “Lightyears?”

Meng Lei was surprised. Did the concept of lightyears also exist in this world?

“Lightyears are a unit of distance. It refers to the distance that light travels in a straight line in one year in the Void and measures about one trillion kilometers.”

Dodola explained, “The Void is endless and boundless, so the units of measurement for length in Heaven’s Vault Continent evidently won’t be suitable for use when it comes to the Void.”

  “Fair enough!”

Meng Lei nodded. Then, he asked, “Do you mean to say that there are another 500-odd material planes within 100 lightyears of Heaven’s Vault Continent?”

“Yes, that’s right. 100 lightyears covers an extremely vast area and is enough to contain too many material planes. 500 existential planes are already considered very few and sparsely distributed.”

Dodola nodded slightly and added, “Additionally, almost all of those material planes are controlled by true gods, with the Beast God and the Titan Spiritual God being two among them.

“As the saying goes, ‘If one doesn’t take what the heavens bestow upon them, misfortune brought about by it would instead befall them’!”

The corners of Meng Lei’s lips quirked upward and formed a smile. He said, “Since I’ve already become a higher deity, then it naturally follows that those material planes should also become my power of faith domains.”

“Work hard, then!” A smiling Dodola said, “As a higher deity, it doesn’t make sense if you don’t have enough power of faith domains to match your status.

“We’ll talk about this again later. For now, let’s deal with the stinky bug that is the Dragon God!”

Meng Lei turned to the floating continent in front of him.

  ...

“Ambrose is really a piece of trash!

“He’s a great higher deity, yet a cheap b*stard that’s only just broken through killed him!

  “Trash! They are all trash!”

Someone had excavated a fairly wide and spacious cave in the deepest depths of the floating continent.

Embedded in the walls all around were all sorts of gleaming and glittering jewels and crystals. They decorated the whole cave and made it a fine and glorious sight. It looked beautiful and dazzling.

A shiny gold rug was laid out on the ground. A muscular middle-aged man sat limply on it and drowned his sorrows in alcohol while grumbling aloud.

That man was exactly the Dragon God himself.

“It’s finished! All finished! My divine nation and all my years of savings. They are all gone!”

The Dragon God downed a jar of wine, his eyes brimming with grief, sorrow, and indignation.

After Meng Lei had killed Ambrose, upon seeing that things had soured, he had immediately taken all the savings that he could hold on himself and fled from his divine nation. He had abandoned even his divine nation and the innumerable worshipers inside.

A divine nation and worshipers were undoubtedly extremely crucial to a deity. Without them, not only were all his years of work in managing them gone with the wind but he, as a deity, had also lost his roots.

If not driven to the most desperate of circumstances, who would resort to something like that?

“That cheap b*stard, it’s all his fault!”

The hysterical Dragon God’s eyes were bloodshot. “When I’ve tided over this crisis, I’ll definitely make you pay a heavy and painful price for that! I must throw you into a situation that’s one hundred... No, ten thousand times worse than mine...”

“What a shame. I’m afraid you won’t have the opportunity to do that anymore.”

Chapter 321: The Fall Of the Dragon God, The Frost Gods

“It’s just a pity that you won’t get this chance anymore!”

A cold voice rang, and the Dragon God bounced up immediately. His face turned pale and colorless. “Meng... Meng Lei!”

He might not be that familiar with other’s voices, but Meng Lei’s voice was so distinct that he would never forget it—that was a nightmarish existence!

Meng Lei appeared in the cave and looked at the ghastly pale Dragon God. “Dragon God, so we meet again, or I should say, we’ve finally met.”

He had only seen the divinity projection previously, so this was the first time Meng Lei saw the Dragon God’s true self. Hence, it was indeed their first actual meeting.

“What... What do you want?” The Dragon God quivered as his voice trembled.

“What do I want?” Meng Lei replied indifferently. “You have consistently opposed me and even wanted me dead. How about you tell me what I want?”

  “S-spare me!”

The Dragon God dropped onto his knees with a thud as he kowtowed again and again. “Lord Meng Lei, I was wrong. I beg for your mercy and let me live...”

>   Meng Lei looked down at the Dragon God, kneeling and begging with many emotions running through his mind. A few years ago, the Dragon God had been a deity far above anyone in the Dragon God Empire—he was worshiped by many, and its prestige was unrivaled in the empire.

While Meng Lei was just a nobody who had just left the novice village and had to bow in respect to the statue of the Dragon God, otherwise, it would have been a grave offense.

Yet, the great figure that he once looked up to was now a miserable fellow on his knees begging for mercy.

  How ironic was that?

“A King from the past has fallen into Bronze, and the Bronze in the past has risen to become a King[1].”

The speed of how things could change in life was a blur!

“It’s too late to ask for forgiveness now!”

Meng Lei pointed his finger, and a hole appeared on the Dragon God’s head. The body went stiff and fell straight down. He was truly dead.

Meng Lei waved his hands and kept the Dragon God’s carcass. He took off his spatial ring and started checking. The Dragon God was indeed a pauper with little Divinity Crystals and other treasures. Meng Lei lost interest after only a glance.

  “Time to go back.”

Meng Lei and Dodola returned to the Dragon God’s divine nation. With the Dragon God’s death, this vast divine nation had begun to show signs of collapse.

“Dodola, how long does it take for the Dragon God’s divine nation to collapse?” Meng Lei asked casually.

“It can be as short as 1,000 years or as long as 10,000 years,” Dodola replied as it looked around and seemed to be searching for something.

After a while, Dodola smiled. “It is really there. It seems I’ve guessed it right!”

  “What?”

  Meng Lei was puzzled.

“The Great Void Shift teleportation magic circle.” Dodola laughed. “Come on. I’ll show you!”

  Whoosh!

In the next second, they arrived at a majestic mountain top. It was extremely flat, and a magic circle of an incredible size was drawn here, while the center of the magic circle was constructed with Divinity Crystals.
