“Can you let me feel it?”
The Boundless King had a fervent look on his countenance.
Meng Lei nodded slightly. Then, he reached his arm out, pointed at the Boundless King, and commanded, “Freeze!”
Buzz!
A ripple of energy that contained time-based laws of nature quietly spread into the vicinity, enveloping the Boundless King and the air 100 meters around him.
Whoosh!
The Boundless King became still, as did the air around him.
To be more accurate, they didn’t become 'still”. Rather, time had stopped temporarily—the time within 100 meters of where the Boundless King was had stopped temporarily!
A brief moment later, Meng Lei dismissed the time-based laws of nature, and time within those 100 meters began to flow once more.
“The stopping of time!”
A glint appeared in the Boundless King’s eyes. “It is indeed true blue time-based laws of nature! Never would I have thought that someone would actually be able to comprehend time-based laws of nature in this wide universe!”
The Boundless King exclaimed with admiration, “We actually all know that apart from the four major supreme laws of nature, there’s also another type of supreme laws of nature that can control time in this world. Even so, knowing is one thing, while discovering and comprehending it is another thing altogether.
“You’re the first person to have comprehended time-based laws of nature. You can definitely be said to be amazingly gifted and extraordinarily talented!”
Dodola was displeased at his comment right away. It immediately raised its voice and said, “What kind of nonsensical ‘first person to have comprehended time-based laws of nature’ is that?! The God of Time was the first!”
Rather amused, Meng Lei replied, “The Boundless King died before the God of Time. It’s very normal that he would misunderstand. Don’t hold it against a dead man!”
“Hmph! You’ve already become the first person to have comprehended time-based laws of nature. Of course you wouldn’t argue about it. Hypocrite!” said a displeased Dodola sulkily.
Meng Lei rolled his eyes.
The Boundless King went on. “Time-based laws of nature can manipulate time itself, so it has a chance of reviving me, albeit the chances are slim and close to non-existent.”
The Boundless King turned to Meng Lei and asked, “Little fellow, are you willing to revive me?”
“I’m willing to give it a go, but you should also understand that with my current abilities, I can’t even revive a mortal, let alone someone like you. After all, you’ve already been gone for such a long time, too,” replied Meng Lei with a shake of his head.
“I understand, naturally.”
The Boundless King nodded lightly.
“Secondly, nothing is free in this world,” the corners of Meng Lei’s lips curled upward, “If you want me to revive you, then you’ll have to show me enough sincerity!”
“Hahaha, of course!”
The Boundless King let out a hearty laugh and said, “Disregarding the fact that I couldn’t possibly have you help me for free, regardless, I would still invest in you with everything I’ve got and help you to grow faster if only to have you become capable of reviving me as soon as possible!”
Light flashed across Meng Lei’s eyes.
“Although I’ve already perished, I still have the riches that I saved up when I was still alive.”
The Boundless King said with a big smile, “Little fellow, as long as you swear a divine oath and promise to revive me, I’ll give you all my riches!”
All the wealth that he saved up in his whole lifetime!
Meng Lei’s eyes lit up brightly, and he swore the divine oath without hesitation.
“As long as the Boundless King gives me all of the riches that he had accumulated when he was still alive, I’m willing to revive the Boundless King...”
An inexplicable force from an unseen world enveloped Meng Lei in the instant that the divine oath was successfully made. Meng Lei knew intuitively that this was the power of the oath. Should he go against his oath, then...
“Great!”
The Boundless King laughed heartily. Then, he reached out and pointed at Meng Lei, upon which a golden beam then entered the area in between his brows. Meng Lei closed his eyes and swiftly took it in. After a brief moment, he couldn’t help but laugh wryly.
The Boundless King’s riches were indeed vast and enormous, so much so that Meng Lei could hardly imagine it. However, just like the God of Time, that guy had actually divided them into quite a few batches and stored them in different places!
If Meng Lei wanted to get his hands on the riches, then he’d have to look for them one by one. Tedious and troublesome, this was totally a scam!
“Dammit, why do I feel like I’ve been had?”
Meng Lei felt a headache coming on. He’d initially thought that the Boundless King’s riches were all stored and hidden on the Boundless Plane. How convenient would that have been? Yet...
“It’s up to you now, little fellow!” The Boundless King was full of anticipation. “If you succeed, we’ll naturally meet again!
“Oh, and by the way, do help those descendants of mine out a little if you can. Thanks!”
Then, his big and tall body dispersed with a boom, turning into countless multi-colored light particles that dissipated into nothingness and vanished completely into the universe.
The Boundless King... had fully departed this time!
“He’s gone?”
Dodola appeared out of nowhere.
“Yeah, let’s go.”
Meng Lei then looked at the Heart of The Existential Plane a short distance away. The divine spirit mark left on the Heart of The Existential Plane had completely disappeared, rendering it a master-less object now.
“The Boundless King sure is big-hearted and unrestrained!” Dodola sighed and said, “He dispersed his divine spirit fragment and erased himself right away after you agreed to his request. His courage and boldness are not what the average man can compare to.”
“He’s the Boundless King, y’know!” Meng Lei sighed emotionally. Then, he said, “It’s time to go, Dodola.”
“Go? Aren’t you going to refine the Heart of The Existential Plane?” asked a puzzled Dodola.
“All the Boundless Giants would be dead by the time I’m done refining the Heart of The Existential Plane.” Meng Lei shook his head and said, “Let’s go. Let’s take care of the foreign existential plane experts first.”
“That’s true.”
Dodola said no more.
Meng Lei left his divine spirit mark on the Heart of The Existential Plane so that he could locate it again next time. Then, he returned to the Monarch Shrine with Dodola.
“You’re out?”
The Great Prophet looked at Meng Lei and asked agitatedly, “Have you met the great Lord Juggernaut?”
“Yes, I have.”
Meng Lei nodded lightly.
“Greetings, my new master!”
The Great Prophet dropped onto his knees with a thud and prostrated before Meng Lei with a face full of piousness.
“Your new master?” Master raised an eyebrow. “Why do you address me so?”
“The Lord Juggernaut has issued a holy decree just now,” the Great Prophet replied respectfully, “From this point on, you shall be the new master of us Boundless Giants!”
“I see.”
Meng Lei waved and said, “Rise!”
“Thank you, Master!”
The Great Prophet rose to his feet respectfully.
“How’s the situation outside?” asked Meng Lei dispassionately.
“My clan’s children have nearly died out.”
A hint of grief flashed across the Great Prophet’s eyes. The Boundless Giants that guarded Monarch Mountain were the strongest and most elite men on the whole of the Boundless Plane.
Now that all of them had been wiped out, the blow to the Boundless Giants
could be said to be extremely great. Without tens of thousands of years of recuperation, they could forget about recovering and getting back on their feet.
“Let’s go. We’ll go out and take a look.”
Meng Lei took the lead and started to walk out of the shrine. The Great Prophet hurriedly followed after him. The current Great Prophet was quick on his feet and walked smoothly. Which part of him even looked like he was about to croak?
That old coot!
Like what the Great Prophet had said, nearly all the Boundless Giants guarding Monarch Mountain had been wiped out. Only Olio, the strongest among them, and a handful of others were still putting up a resistance.
Even so, they had already been pushed back to the area right in front of the shrine and were stubbornly defending the Monarch Shrine. On top of that, every one of them sported injuries all over themselves and was riddled in wounds. They were already close to breaking down.
“The losses sure are great...”
Meng Lei shook his head lightly. Then, he said dispassionately, “That’s enough.”
Boom!
He wasn’t particularly loud, yet his voice boomed right next to everyone’s ears like a clap of thunder. It shocked everyone into halting their motions, and all of them looked over at once.
“Who’s he?”
“Great Prophet?”
All the experts from each major existential plane turned to Meng Lei with a hint of burning fervency in their eyes. So, he was the Great Prophet, the one that knew about the Monarch’s treasure?
“Who’s that guy?”
On the other hand, Olio and several other Boundless Giants’ expressions changed drastically, and they looked at Meng Lei with hostility. “Who are you? Why are you in the Monarch Shrine?”
“Olio, don’t you show any disrespect now!” The Great Prophet barked, “This is our, the Boundless Giants’, new master!”
“Our new master?” Olio was stunned. “What do you mean by that, Great Prophet?”
“The new master has already met Lord Juggernaut. Lord Juggernaut has personally appointed him as his heir, so he’s naturally the Boundless Giants’ new master!”
The Great Prophet’s countenance darkened, and he barked, “Hurry and pay your respects to our new master!”
“Greetings, my new master!”
Even though Olio’s head was reeling from the news, he didn’t dare to question the Great Prophet and hastily bowed in greeting.
“Greetings, my new master!”
The other surviving Boundless Giants also knelt and kowtowed. Even Big Brother Olio had gotten onto his knees, so how would they possibly dare to raise any objections?
“The master is the master himself. Why is there a distinction between the old and the new? Remove the word ‘new’ in the future.” Then, Meng Lei said dispassionately with a wave, “Rise, everyone.”
“Yes, Master!”
“Master?”
Chapter 361: Smashed In A Strike, One Man Army
“Master?”
As they witnessed this sudden event, the experts from each existential plane were bewildered—since when the Boundless Giants had a master?
Wait!
What did that old man say?
‘The new master has already met Lord Juggernaut. Lord Juggernaut has personally appointed him as his heir, so he’s naturally the Boundless Giants’ new master!’
“Perhaps...”
A jolt went through the foreign existential planes’ experts as they looked at Meng Lei together.
“He met the Boundless King?”
“The Boundless King is still alive?”
“Damn it! The Boundless King is still alive!”
A furor went through the experts. A person’s name was like a tree’s shadow[1], the Boundless King was the supreme Juggernaut. If he was not dead, the experts would be dead in no time!
“Wait! The Boundless King is surely dead, or else we would all be dead by now! Plus, this fellow wouldn’t become the Boundless Giants’ new master!”
“Oh, you’re right! That makes perfect sense. He must’ve seen the divine spirit fragment of the Boundless King. A supreme Juggernaut like him must have left behind some divine spirit fragments!”
“That makes sense...”
The various experts heaved a sigh of relief before they looked toward Meng Lei. “So, this means he has inherited everything from the Boundless King?”
“Yes, he must know where the Monarch’s treasure is hidden!”
“The Monarch’s treasure...”
Their eyes were now gleaming with hunger, like starving wolves staring at Meng Lei greedily.
“Little fellow, you must know where the Monarch’s treasure is hidden, right?”
An eight-winged angel threatened, “You better spit it out now! Or else, I’ll torture you with the cruelest methods ever known!”
“Yeah! Tell us the hidden location, and we’ll be merciful to spare your life! Otherwise, don’t blame us for being ruthless!”
“A bunch of fools! Why waste time talking when we can kill him straightaway and search his soul’s memory?”
Search his soul?
“He’s mine! Don’t any of you dare fight me for it!”
Just as everyone was arguing, a black figure flashed across the crowd and shot toward Meng Lei at top speed.
“Damn it!”
“Despicable Dark Demonic Dragon!”
The experts were fuming, but they made no further delay as they joined in to charge at Meng Lei.
“Protect our Master!” the Great Prophet commanded.
“Yes! Great Prophet!”
Olio and the remaining Boundless Giants rushed in front of Meng Lei, prepared to fight the incoming enemies.
“All of you stand down.”
Meng Lei waved the giants off.
“But, Master—”
“Stand down!”
Meng Lei brooked no refusal.
“Yes, Master!”
Olio and the rest could only retreat obediently. Still, they prepared to defend Meng Lei anytime the experts started their attacks. They did not think that their new master could stop the extraterrestrial demons.
“You’re mine, kid!”
The Dark Demonic Dragon looked at Meng Lei, who was becoming larger and larger. Its eyes were firm and scorching hot as it had decided to swallow Meng Lei directly, and it would leave promptly.
After shaking those annoying competitors off, it would find a safe place to search through Meng Lei’s memory to find out the Monarch’s treasure’s location.
The Monarch’s treasure is mine. No one shall snatch it away from me! The Dark Demonic Dragon exclaimed in its mind.
It was getting nearer and nearer!
50 meters, 30 meters, 10 meters...
“Come here! Kid!”
The Dark Demonic Dragon opened its huge mouth. Upon seeing this, the experts chasing behind were shocked. “Ugh! It’s going to devour that little fellow for itself!”
“Greedy fellow! That’s too despicable!”
“Quickly! Stop that dragon!”
“Damn! It’s too late!”
The Dark Demonic Dragon was a high-level Great Demon God, after all. It was one of the fastest among the experts, especially when it had gotten the head start. It had pulled away from the rest behind it in a few moments.
The countless experts could only watch helplessly as it was about to devour Meng Lei.
However, just as everyone thought Meng Lei was about to be swallowed, something unbelievable happened the next moment.
A gigantic hammer appeared in Meng Lei’s hands, and he swung it up ferociously, smashing the Dark Demonic Dragon.
Bam!
The Dark Demonic Dragon’s mouth had an intimate moment with the hammer. Everyone else could only hear the crisp crackling sounds of broken bones as they witnessed the dragon’s head explode into pieces in front of them.
The confident Dark Demonic Dragon the moment before was now dead.
>
“Ah!”
The sight put the brakes upon the wave of experts. They could not help but gasp when they saw the Dark Demonic Dragon’s lifeless body.
The Dark Demonic Dragon was at a level on par with a high-level higher deity, only a few among the experts were more powerful!
If such an expert was smashed in the head easily with a hammer, how powerful was Meng Lei?
For a while, all eyes on Meng Lei were filled with cautiousness. The experts knew that Meng Lei could do the same to any one of them.
They had to be careful now.
“So our new master possesses such capabilities?”
The Great Prophet, Olio, and the remaining Boundless Giants were shocked too. Meng Lei’s power was beyond their imaginations, much stronger than they had expected.
“Who else?”
Meng Lei swung the hammer around to shake off the blood and flesh on it before looking at the experts in a calm and composed manner.
They did not reply as they were all astounded, and nobody dared to make a move.
“Everyone! No matter how strong he is, he is just one person. While there are so many of us!”
A Primordial Behemoth King yelled suddenly, “It’s difficult for two fists to beat four hands. Even a hungry tiger could not deal with a wolf pack. I refuse to believe that we can’t take him down with so many of us!”
“That’s right! Once we charge together, he’ll be no match against us!”
“The Monarch’s treasure is with him. So if we take him out, we’ll obtain the treasure—the Boundless King’s lifelong savings! How can we miss out on it?”
“We better make use of this great opportunity! If we miss this, we’ll have to wait another 30,000 years!”
“Kill!”
The experts moved at the same time. They were like a ferocious tiger emerging from the mountains, swarming Meng Lei from every direction with various attacks relentlessly.
“Protect our Master!” the Great Prophet bellowed immediately.
“Stay back!” Meng Lei said indifferently, “Don’t ruin the show.”
As he spoke, Meng Lei switched the hammer for the Grim Reaper Scythe before he charged out.
Since there were too many enemies, he did not need to aim his strikes at all.
