“Well-done! Well-done! How bold of you to actually speak to me like that! Go to hell!”

Boris roared furiously and threw a powerful punch. He didn’t hesitate to put his full power into the punch, evidently intending to kill Meng Lei and smash him into a bloody pulp with it.

  “It’s all over!”

At the sight, Emery Philmore couldn’t help but shut his eyes—only to hear Puhaman’s mocking voice next to his ear.

“What are you closing your eyes for? Aren’t you a little too cowardly? Open your eyes wide and watch properly!”

  “(⊙o⊙)”

At his words, Emery couldn’t help but open his eyes. Then, he saw something incredible:

Meng Lei neither ducked nor avoided Boris, who was coming at him with fierce momentum. Instead, he made a casual grabbing motion with his right hand.

  Thud!

Meng Lei easily caught what everyone had thought was a destructive punch in his own hand. The destructive force around it died down, and its momentum completely disappeared. And then... There was nothing else.

  “How can this be?!”

  Emery Philmore was stunned.

The deities watching the fight were stunned.

  Boris himself was also stunned.

A look of surprise also surfaced on even Venus’ countenance, seemingly not having expected a nobody to actually negate Boris’ attack so easily.

“There are too many people out there that want me dead. Who do you even think you are?”

Meng Lei shook his head lightly and casually tightened his grip, crushing Boris’ fist.

  “Aahhh!”

Boris let out a shrill scream and looked at Meng Lei with fear and shock. His voice trembled as he asked, “W-who exactly are you?”

“Who am I? You’re not qualified enough to know that.”

Meng Lei then reached out his right arm and dealt a palm strike.

  Boom!

A massive palm about 100,000-feet-long abruptly appeared in the sky and crashed down onto Boris. Its terrifying might and momentum were as if they were going to destroy everything in the world.

  “Noooo!”

Fearful and horror-stricken, Boris cried out desperately, “My lord, s-save me!”

  “Stop!”

Venus hastily spoke up and tried to stop Meng Lei. Boris was his lackey; he mustn’t die just like that.

Meng Lei didn’t pay him any heed at all, however. The massive palm’s downward momentum made no move to slow down and engulfed Boris amid his screams of despair.

  Boom!

The massive palm descended from above, ultimately landing on the summit of Coiling Dragon Mountain Range. A deafening explosion rang out, and even the whole mountain range itself shook a little.

Dust swirled everywhere as the ground and mountains trembled.

  “What’s the matter?”

  “What happened?”

  “An earthquake! It’s an earthquake!”

  “Hurry and get out!”

  Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

The sudden tremors frightened the deities that had entered the valley, and they scrambled out of the valley like frightened little rabbits.

  “What happened just now?”

  “Look over there!”

Following the shout, everyone quickly looked over to see a gigantic deep pit forming at the summit. The pit was palm-shaped, and one could nary see to the bottom of it.

“How strange! Where did that palm-shaped pit come from? I seem to recall it wasn’t there when I first arrived here...”

All the deities were terribly puzzled. Then, a chilling voice rang out. “Why didn’t you stop when I told you to just now?”

“That’s... The lord of the city’s voice?”

Everyone quickly looked over to see the lord of the city sporting an icy look on his face. His eyes were practically spitting fire, and his countenance was as cold as the Antarctic ice as he gazed coldly at a young man.

“What’s the matter with the lord of the city?”

“Why is he suddenly flaring up at a deity?”

  “Who’s that?”

  Questions filled the deities’ minds.

Venus was raging mad. Although he was certainly mad that someone had killed Boris, that wasn’t enough to anger him this badly yet. The main reason for his anger was instead Meng Lei defying his order.

One must know that as the son of the Chief God, aside from a small handful of people, no one, even those among the clan’s inner circle, had ever dared to refuse Venus anything.

  Not even the clan elders!

Moreover, he enjoyed an even loftier position and was someone with absolute authority in Venus Colossal Dragon City. His orders were the golden rule, his will the highest decree, and his word the law itself!

Who would dare to defy his orders?

  Nobody!

  Those that did... would die!

Yet that fellow that had popped out of god knows where had actually defied—or perhaps completely ignored—his order just now!

  This was unforgivable!

  And inexcusable!

Fear and panic took over Emery Philmore as he gazed at Venus’ icy eyes. Even Puhaman and the others also felt immense pressure. That guy wasn’t particularly strong, but he was a Chief God’s son!

  A Chief God!

Those two words alone were already capable of applying an infinite amount of pressure on anyone, crushing down on them and rendering them unable to breathe.

“Am I supposed to stop just because you told me to? Who do you think you are?”

Chapter 389: Get On Your Knees, Killing The Son of The Chief God

Dead silence filled the whole place.

The air felt like it had been locked down.

Even time itself seemed to have stopped.

All the deities gazed at the black-haired young man standing proudly in the sky, every one of them flabbergasted and dumbfounded.

“Who’s that guy? To think he’s actually speaking to the lord of the city like that! Isn’t he afraid that he’ll be killed?”

  “Tsk, tsk! How gutsy!”

“Such toughness! This is the first time I’ve seen such a stubborn fellow!”

After a momentary silence, the deities went into a furor. They pointed and gestured at Meng Lei, either mocking him, marveling at him, or watching him with a sympathetic look on their faces...

The most dramatic one was the infatuated goddess from earlier. She actually jumped in front of Meng Lei furiously and chastised him, “Where did a country bumpkin like you come from? Do you know who you’re talking to? I demand that you apologize to the lord of the city! At once, right away, immediately!”

Varying expressions came over the deities’ countenances at the sight of the goddess. That goddess was no simple deity. She was a member of the Nature Gods and was also well-known in Venus Colossal Dragon City. As she naturally bore a fragrance on herself and was also a huge beauty, she was hailed as the Hundred Flowers Goddess.

She had a great many pursuers, so many that they could form a line from one end of Venus Colossal Dragon City to the other end. There was no lack of people of high status from various major godly clans among them. It was just that the Hundred Flower Goddess wasn’t interested in them at all.

Everyone knew that the only one she was in love with was Lord Venus. Thus, no one found the sight of the Hundred Flower Goddess standing up for Lord Venus strange.

“Apologize? Who do you think you are?”

Meng Lei only had a very simple response for an extremely narcissistic and exceedingly self-centered idiot like her—he gave her a tight slap across the cheek right away.

  Smack!

A dozen or so bloody teeth flew about as a crisp smack rang out, and the Hundred Flower Goddess was sent flying with a shrill scream.

The deities were dumbfounded yet again at the sight of that.

He had sent her flying with a slap across the cheek?

Wasn’t that a little too booris
h of him?

  “Nice!”

  “How formidable, Master!”

On the other hand, Puhaman and the others were cheering in excitement instead. They didn’t give two hoots about whether she was a goddess or not. This was what she deserved for showing their master disrespect!

  “Great, great! Fantastic!”

Venus, the Chief God’s son, had an icy, sinister look on his face. He said, “I’ve never seen anyone as arrogant as you in my whole life!”

“Is that so? Should I be honored, then?” scoffed Meng Lei, who didn’t think much of the so-called Chief God’s son at all.

“I’ll show you that those who dare to act so brazenly in front of me would pay the price for doing so!” Then, Venus coldly ordered, “Men, take him down!”

All the city guards around him became rather hesitant upon his order. That guy was someone who was capable of killing even Captain Boris with just a single smack of his hand. Weren’t they just having a death wish if they charge right up to him?

  Yet if they didn’t...

Just as the city guards were hesitating over what they should do, the nine Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni that had accompanied Venus here let out a loud and sonorous roar in tandem. Then, they transformed into nine streaks of light that shot over to Meng Lei, arriving right in front of him and surrounding them from all sides.

Nine murderous pairs of dragon eyes bore right into Meng Lei. Then, right on the heels of it, they let out a furious roar, causing thunderous roiling sound waves to explode and spread into the surroundings.

  “Roar! Get on your knees!”

  Boom!

Overwhelming waves of divine power erupted from the nine Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni, striking Meng Lei as though they were torrential tidal waves capable of toppling the mountains.

  “Get on your knees!”

  They roared yet again.

  “W-what terrifying divine power!”

Despite only being subjected to the divine power’s residual impact waves, Puhaman and the others nevertheless found it hard to breathe. They felt as if they would be flattened to the ground any moment.

The divine power that had erupted from the nine Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni was simply too fearsome. Even high-level higher deities could barely withstand it!

And indeed, it was certainly very fearsome!

Every one of those Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni was infinitely close to Great Perfection-level, and their combined divine power had actually reached Great Perfection-level after stacking on top of one another’s.

Puhaman and the others naturally wouldn’t be able to withstand Great Perfection-level divine power.

However, this bit of divine power was nothing to Meng Lei. He sized up the nine divine beasts and repeatedly nodded in a highly satisfied manner.

“They certainly look pretty good. It’s pretty cool to have them pull one’s carriage!”

The nine Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni flew into a thundering rage at his words. As divine beasts that had especially been captured to serve Venus, their master, they simply knew that expression too well.

  Roar!

  “Damn it!”

  “Get on your knees!”

The nine Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni roared incessantly. They raised their powerful, sharp claws and swiped ruthlessly at Meng Lei, intending to flatten him onto the ground.

“You’re too noisy! Keep it down!”

  Meng Lei snorted lightly.

  Boom!

An incomparably wild and violent aura erupted from Meng Lei and crushed down on the Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni like surging, torrential waves. Now, this was a Chief God’s true blue might, so how could the nine Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni that weren’t even Great Perfection-level yet possibly withstand it?

  Spurt!

Blood spurted from their mouths at once, and they were sent flying while crying out as if they had been hit by a train racing toward them at high speed.

  “What?”

Venus’ expression changed at once when he saw what had happened. The nine Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni were super divine beasts that were infinitely close to becoming Great Perfection-level and were even capable of contending with a Great Perfection deity if they teamed up. They were also a means of protection that the clan had given him.

Yet that guy that had popped out of nowhere had actually sent the nine Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni flying just by releasing some of his aura?

  Just how strong was he?

  “Come back!”

Meng Lei suddenly made a grabbing motion at this point, upon which the nine Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni that were in the midst of being thrown back suddenly froze in mid-air before they then flew toward Meng Lei.

  “Get down!”

Meng Lei slowly uttered two words. Then, with a flip of his wrist and a press of his hand downward, the nine Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni were flattened right onto the ground such that they prostrated right in front of him.

  “Animals will be animals!”

Meng Lei snorted lightly. Then, he turned to Venus and said, “You’re holding on to the Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni’s divine spirit origin energies, right? Hand them over!”

  “What do you want?”

  Venus’ expression changed drastically.

“Say the word, will you hand them over or not?” said Meng Lei dispassionately as he cast a glance at him.

“The Six-Legged Golden Suan Ni are mine. I’m their one and only master!”

Venus barked grimly, “Nobody can take them from me!”

“Not handing them over? Just go to hell, then!”

  Meng Lei remained expressionless.

  “Go to hell?”

Venus burst into loud laughter as though he had just heard the funniest joke in the world.

“Kill me? With the likes of you? Who do you think you are? Let me tell you something, it’s not that there isn’t anyone in the world that dares to kill me, but you’re definitely not one of them!”

“Had the one saying that to me been the person that had spawned you back then, perhaps I would have shown a little fear and reverence. As for you... Hah, what a joke!”

Meng Lei shook his head with a laugh and made a grabbing motion in mid-air. A large, intangible hand instantly wrapped around Venus’ throat and dragged him over.

  “L-let go of me!”

Venus could hardly breathe with someone constricting his throat. His face flushed red, and he struggled fiercely as he threatened, “I... I’m the great Nidhogg Chief God’s son! H-how dare you treat me like this! My f-father will never let you off!”

“Let him come, then. Just as well that I can take the opportunity to meet a so-called Chief God, too.” Meng Lei chuckled and said, “As for you, it’s a real shame that you’ll never live to see that day anymore.”

  Crack!

Chapter 390: The Chief God Descends, Strongest In The Universe

  Crack!

A crisp crack rang out, and Venus’ throat was crushed into bits. His eyes widened big and round as fury and disbelief filled them.

His fury was because Meng Lei had actually killed him, while his disbelief was because Meng Lei had actually dared to kill him.

  Who was he?

He was the Nidhogg Chief God’s son!

The Nidhogg Colossal Dragon Gods’ young master!

A second-generation descendant publicly acknowledged as the most impressive people around!

Yet he had actually died in the hands of a nameless nobody that had popped out of some godforsaken place!

  He couldn’t tolerate this!

  Neither could he accept it!

Indignation filled Venus, but what could he do?

As the saying went, “A man dies the same way that the light goes out”.

Once he was dead, he would be dead through and through. Meng Lei casually tossed Venus’ corpse aside, gouged out his divine core, and read his memories.

Venus was the Nidhogg Chief God’s son and the lord of Venus Colossal Dragon City. Thus, he
must know a lot.

  “How dare you kill me!”

  “How dare you kill me!”

“You knave, Father will never let you off! Neither will the Nidhogg Colossal Dragon Gods! They’ll rip you into a million pieces to avenge my deat—”

Venus roared again and again, his divine spirit energy waves brimming with immense hatred. Oh, how resentful he was!

  “You’re too noisy!”

Meng Lei turned up the firepower of his attacks on Venus’ divine spirit, causing Venus to scream. At once, his divine spirit was destroyed and reduced to broken bits and pieces. And then, all was silent.

“The Nidhogg Chief God... A lesser Chief God... Venus Colossal Dragon City’s treasury...”

Various pieces of information flooded Meng Lei’s mind, among which were some about the Nidhogg Chief God, some about the Nidhogg clan, as well as some about Venus Colossal Dragon City itself...

“He’s killed the lord of the city!”

“Oh my god! He’s actually killed the lord of the city!”

“What do we do? What do we do now?”

All the deities were scared witless while Meng Lei continued to read Venus’ memories. Looks of fear and panic came over their countenances, and all of them looked as if a calamity was about to befall them.

  Yes, calamity!

After all, Venus was the Nidhogg Chief God’s son!

  But now... He was dead!

What was going to happen next?

Nobody dared to even think about it!

But what they could be sure of was that the Nidhogg Chief God definitely wouldn’t take things lying down, and neither would the Nidhogg clan. A bloodbath was sure to come!

Would the bloodbath implicate them? Nobody could say anything for certain, but as witnesses to Venus’ death, they were undoubtedly going to be in for a rough ride.

  “A lunatic! He’s a total lunatic!”

“That bastard! He’s totally screwed us over...”

For a moment there, resentment and rancor filled the deities’ eyes as they watched Meng Lei. If looks could kill, they really wished they could rip Meng Lei into a million pieces!

Elsewhere, Meng Lei couldn’t help but smile upon successfully reading all of Venus’ memories.

Venus was just a mid-level higher deity, but as a Chief God’s son, the number of riches he had accumulated over the years and the secrets he was privy to were in no way little.
