The Prince was silent. There wasn’t much that he could say to that. She was admitting that she was wrong, that she was sorry for what she’d done. Not sorry that she was carrying his young. She didn’t want that for their child. She didn’t want the horror from the clan that she had run from.
He looked at her stomach. “I’m not going to send you back and I’m surely not going to kill you. If I send you back, they will kill you.”
Which meant that his young would die whether he wanted it to or not.
It seemed that Prince Drake meant what he said. He was willing to trust her even though she had tricked him.
He was just as happy as he was the night he had asked her to carry one of his young, and had promised he wasn’t going to let any harm come to it.
“You can keep me as your prisoner. I’m more than willing to live as a prisoner as long as I don’t have to go back to the clan that I’ve just run from. I need you to take care of my young. I need someone that I can trust and it’s not them. Please, please, help me.” This time the tears were streaming down her face in front of the entire kingdom.
George and Kendal could see how upset Lizzy was. They looked at the Prince and knew what he was going to do. It wasn’t as if he any other choice but to take her in.
If she was carrying his young, he had to protect it, even if the woman couldn’t be trusted.
“I see how bad they are,” Lizzy stated, when Prince Drake didn’t say anything. “I would rather be a prisoner here than to be free in my own clan. You don’t know how bad it is there. Take a look for yourself if you don’t believe me.”
They were all looking at her as if she had two heads.
She admitted that she was wrong and there was nothing more that she could do to prove herself to them.
She couldn’t read Prince Drake because she hadn’t known him that long. She could see that everyone else was glaring at her, though. They were having a hard time believing her.
“I will not have you as a prisoner here. I will not allow that.” He shook his head firmly.
Lizzy didn’t know what that meant.
“I’m going to set you up with your own place. You are going to be watched until you can be trusted, but you are allowed to come and go as you please. I will allow you to take care of your young here. If you go outside the kingdom, my finest soldiers will be going with you. If the clan is weak even with food and water, then they will never beat us. They will never get the chance to. The one thing they lack is communication.” Prince Drake looked at his kingdom.
He made the rules loud and clear. He knew that everyone could hear him. He didn’t expect anyone to talk back.
It quiet.
His word was law.
Chapter 15
“I am willing to sacrifice my body still to make more of this clan. I want someone that can defeat the one that I’ve just left. It won’t be hard at all. I can give you more so your army will grow.” Lizzy said, smiling as she looked at Prince Drake.
“We will see how that goes. For right now I’m going to approve of that.” He nodded his head at her but didn’t return her smile.
He turned his back and his army made a path for him to go back to his quarters. It was going to take some time for him to trust her.
After all that he’d done for her, after all that he had asked of her… and for her to betray him. He wasn’t going to take lightly that she almost killed him.
Yet, he refused to treat her like a prisoner. She was carrying his young and that was mattered most. She couldn’t take good care of the young if she was in a cell. No, he wouldn’t allow that.
As the weeks went by, he noticed how good she was at taking care of his young. He knew that soon it would be time to take over and teach them how to fight. How to protect the kingdom from danger.
It went without saying, but Prince Drake knew that there would always be war. There would always be a clan willing to fight them, and he couldn’t very well have his own young not ready for battle.
It wasn’t until a week later that he began speaking with Lizzy again. He walked up to her.
How beautiful she was when she took care of herself. She was outside tending to the garden that she had made. He had watched her and their young make the garden together.
He could see that she was carrying again. Each time she did, it brought more to their army and he couldn’t fault her for that.
Lizzy was keeping to her word, as was he, and it was time to bury the hatchet in a sense.
“I am here to take them Lizzy,” he said, noticing the sad look on her face.
“To train them for battle,” she muttered, shaking her head.
“No matter how much we want peace, there’s never going to be any. We have to make sure that our best men are fighting for our freedom. You know that as well as I do.” The Prince stated lightly. He didn’t like seeing the sad look on her face.
“They will get the best training?” she asked, raising her eyebrows at him.
“Of course, I’m going to be the one training them,” he boasted.
They laughed together and Lizzy felt safe. She was glad that he was talking with her again, that he wasn’t mad at her anymore.
She wondered if he would ever forgive her for what she had done. If she could take it back, she would. She had learned the hard way that her previous clan wasn’t any good for her. Wasn’t any good for her young.
“Just think, they won’t know violence unless they need to fight,” Prince Drake explained to her. “We have to teach them the right way to battle. We don’t battle to hurt one another—we battle to keep each other strong. There’s a big difference.”
She nodded her head and turned away when he took the young and was about to head away from her living quarters.
Lizzy knew that she wasn’t going to see them again until they were full grown. Until they were full adults.
It was the way it was and she had to accept it. It was still better than where she had come from. When she saw them again, she would know that they were doing what was right. That they were keeping the kingdom safe, that they were protecting and making sure that they had their freedom.
“It’s not like you’re never going to see them again,” he whispered to her.
“I know.” She turned her head, smiling at him and wiping the tear out of her eye.
Drake couldn’t stand it anymore. He hugged her tightly. Hugged her so tightly, and felt her arms wrap around him.
He whispered against her ear. “I think that we have to move you into my living quarters. Then you will be able to see the young every day, as well as how training is done. And I would like to have a warm woman in my bed.”
“Are you serious?” she asked, pulling away from him.
She was searching for a hint of a smile, to see if he was kidding with her. There was nothing but a serious look on his face and love in his eyes.
She knew love when she saw it. Prince Drake showed it all the time… whether he meant to or not was another story.
“I would like that.” She nodded her head.
“Good, I will make sure that some of my men come by today and pack your things. Right now, you can come with me and I will show you the first stages of training. It’s not fighting, it’s training. And you will see the difference,” he assured her.
Prince Drake took her hand and their young followed. They all walked through the kingdom with everyone staring at them.
The Prince didn’t care what anyone thought. For once he was following his heart, and he wanted to reassure Lizzy that her young wouldn’t be fighting to the death against each other. That’s not how things worked. And if she could see it for herself, then maybe she would feel better about it.
Lizzy wondered just how long it would take for the kingdom to trust her. If Prince Drake could trust her again, why couldn’t they?
“It’s going to take some time,” he whispered, giving her a wink. “They aren’t as f
orgiving as me. But, if you keep feeding the soldiers and continue to let them impregnate you, they will come around.”
He kissed her on the cheek, and that kiss meant everything to her. She knew that everything was going to be okay.
They walked hand-in-hand throughout the kingdom. He was proud to show her off and let everyone know that his young were finally old enough train. To train and be taught from the best how to protect a kingdom if they ever had to.
Lizzy didn’t care about what the kingdom thought.
They weren’t Prince Drake. And if The Prince didn’t have a problem, then she didn’t. Soon she would show them that she wasn’t bad. That she had only made a mistake that she wished she could correct time and again, but it was too late for that. All she could do was learn from her mistakes. That’s all anyone could do and the sooner they realized that the better off everyone else was.
It was time to put the past behind them, to look into the future—and this time she wasn’t going to mess that up with Prince Drake.
She held his hand tightly as they entered the training arena. He let go of her hand and kissed her lightly on the lips.
She took a seat on the bench so that she was out of the way. It was going to be the first training she had ever observed.
She watched as he took their young to the middle of the arena. He smiled at her from where he was and she grinned, letting him know that she was excited to watch the training. That she was going to try and understand how it was done.
Lizzy knew that everything was going to be alright. That life was going to be good again. The best it’s ever been.

Description
Eden thought that she was saving Sally at the bar, it was time to go even though Sally didn't think so.
Eden always looked out for her, the one friend that she indeed always had. They were both untouched and Eden was determined to keep it that way, at least tonight.
Eden knew that if she didn't get Sally out of the bar soon, Sally would get herself into trouble.
Leaving in the middle of the night, the friends find themselves being followed by strangers that are up to no good.
They find a hiding place that places them in more danger than before.
Will Eden be able to escape the evil that awaits them at the end of the porthole?
Chapter 1
Sally and Eden decided to spend the night on the town, and it was easy to tell that the two friends weren't the same. Looking at them and comparing them, it would be safe to say that opposites do attract. Sally and Eden were close friends. They had been for several years. Sally was the one who wanted to go to the bar, and that was the reason Eden was there. To keep an eye on Sally.
It wasn’t easy.
Sally was dressed in a tight-leather shirt and a matching short skirt. She was indeed a tease. Her breasts were practically jumping out of the shirt, and her long legs had caught the eye of the man sitting beside her.
Eden watched as Sally leaned in close, as she ran a hand through her long, thin, blonde hair and watched as Sally’s baby blue eyes narrowed in on the man’s dark eyes.
You couldn’t tell by looking at Sally that she was untouched, but they both were.
Eden was wearing regular clothing. A white button up blouse and a pair of jeans with black high heels.
Her dark hair was pulled back. Her dark blue eyes were stern as if to tell anyone that if they messed with her, she was going to make them wish they hadn't.
It was just about the time that she watched the man's hand slowly slip up Sally's leg and gradually disappear under her skirt.
Sally giggled and teased him it wasn’t all the man’s fault, but Eden wasn’t going to take any chances.
It was time to go.
Eden got up from the bar stool where she was sitting, and that's when Sally looked up at her with her innocent blue eyes.
"We need to go," Eden told her, raising her eyebrows.
"I haven't even finished my drink." Sally whined and pouted at her.
One thing that Eden didn't know was how to have fun. Sally knew that Eden was always the one who didn't like adventure, didn't want to see where the night would go.
"Now!" Eden used her loud voice with her.
Sally looked at the man.
Eden had to admit that he was handsome. With his black hair, his dark brown eyes and a body that showed off muscles under his clothing. Regardless, of his looks, this didn’t mean she was going to allow a man to take advantage of her friend. Not if she could help it.
Sally gave the man another apologetic look before she took money out of her purse and laid it on the bar.
Sally got up from the bar slowly.
Eden made sure that Sally walked out of the bar before she had. There was no way that she was going to walk out first and lose Sally back into the crowd at the bar.
Sally was known for turning back around and getting lost in the crowd. The bar was full, Eden wanted to make sure that she wasn't going to take off without her.
"You didn't have to do that, you know. I can take care of myself." Sally huffed at Eden when they were down the street from the bar.
"It shows that you can't be trusted alone, Sally. Not without someone to look after you. You were going to let that man…" Eden's voice trailed off, and she was glad that it was dark because her face was red. She was not wanting to come out with the words.
"I was not going to let him screw me if that's what you think," Sally quipped, shaking her head back and forth.
Sally didn’t mix her words. She was always one for coming out with what she had to say when she had to say it.
“He was cute.” Sally giggled a little.
Eden shook her head, not so sure that her friend understood the issue if she had allowed the man to touch her.
Then again, Eden was always the one to think things through. Never to be the one who would jump into things.
That was where the girls differed.
Sally wasn’t even paying attention to her surroundings.
“Where are you going? Home is this way?” Sally stated, seeing that Eden was walking straight ahead.
Sally followed she wasn’t going to walk herself home alone in the dark. There was no way that she could do that. As bold as she was, she wasn’t going to wander off.
Eden walked a little faster. Sally kept the pace.
“Slow down.” She grumbled at Eden.
Eden took her hand tightly, and that's when Sally heard it as well.
The footsteps behind them. They were heavy footsteps.
“Don’t turn around. Keep walking.” Eden mumbled under her breath.
Sally wasn’t going to turn around and bring attention to herself.
The footsteps were getting a little faster behind them, almost like stomping now, and she didn't know how they were going to get out of this one.
Sally could see that Eden was picking up her feet too, the faster the pace as the footsteps behind them.
It wasn't long before the girls were running, trying to get to a spot where there might be people, but it was well after midnight, and no one was out on the rainy streets.
It had been raining on and off all night. The streets and sidewalks were slick. The shops along the sides of the roads were closed down. There was nowhere that they could turn without an alley being right there.
That’s when Eden saw what she was looking for.
“Run.” She whispered under her breath.
The girls ran, Sally followed Eden behind a building. She had slipped out of her heels and noticed that Eden had kicked out of hers before she started running.
It was faster for her that way. Eden’s feet were soaking wet.
Eden couldn’t hear the men anymore, but it didn’t mean that they weren’t behind them. She
broke a window and slid into the lower part of the vacant building. Helping Sally down quickly, making sure she didn’t get cut.
The girls held their breath.
Eden heard the men running by. She saw their shoes, no one ever thought to look down when they ran. They always looked straight ahead.
“That was a close one.” Eden let out her breath when she couldn’t hold it anymore.
“I wonder what they wanted.” Sally shivered, she was wet and cold.
Chapter 2
They looked around the building. It was quiet for the most part. Eden looked in the corner, and there were boxes of science tubes and flasks that were see-through. It looked like items that someone would use for experiments.
"I don't think that we're the only ones down here," Eden whispered when she heard light clanging around.
They walked slowly towards the small light that Eden had seen out of the corner of her eye.
Sally wasn’t going to admit it, but she was a little nervous.
They had broken in, and Eden had saved them from the bad guys that were following them, but had she led them into something more dangerous?
She wasn’t sure.
Eden was the braver one, that was something that Sally was happy about.
When Eden crouched down behind some boxes that were stacked up unevenly, they noticed a short, little, man behind what looked like a chemistry set. He had crazy white hair and each time he turned his head, they could see that he was wearing some goggles that made his eyes look huge.
“What is he doing?” Sally whispered to Eden.
Eden shrugged her shoulders she knew the more they talked, the more likely it was that they were going to get caught.
Eden knew it was time to leave, there was nothing that was keeping them there, but curiosity, and she knew that curiosity killed the cat. She wasn't up for any of that.
