“Thankfully, that’s over with. Our duties at the cat show will be much lighter.”
“I’m quite looking forward to that, all the primping and preening. We’ll be able to catch up with some of our old friends, and of course, the money it brings in for the shelter is critical.”
Arun’s thoughts drifted to last year’s cat show. It had been fun to catch up with some of the other cats, but the thought of all that brushing and bathing and posing made him nervous. “Attending the show is one thing, but I wouldn’t be caught dead competing in it. I don’t do beauty contests.”
“Me either, though I’m sure I would win if I did.” Sasha sighed and snuggled in further, her meows tapering off as she fell into a deep sleep. “At least with all the people milling about inside Moorecliff Manor, we can be assured that no one will stoop to murder.”
As Arun drifted off to sleep, Sasha’s words echoed in his head. Of course, she was right. Who would possibly have a motive for murder at a charity cat show?
