A Trinity of Wicked Tales- Jilted

No, the murder had worked out just the way Phil planned. No surprises. Clean. Careful. Quick. An exhilarating feeling washed over her body upon this realization, and she let out a satisfying sigh. She had just killed Lana, and it felt good. It felt better than sex on some level. She threw her head back into the driver’s seat and let out a loud, empowered, “YES!” She would finally be the most important woman in Phil’s life, and she deserved it. It was just as well. Lana never understood Phil the way she did.
Sara told herself to calm her nerves. Her task wasn’t done yet. She drove to her brother’s house to drop off the car and put her dark attire in the backpack. Sara quickly changed into the red yoga pants and white hoodie she had worn earlier that day, feeling anxious and excited. She couldn’t stop smiling as she locked the house and walked back to the apartment, nearly hopping with excitement on her way there. About two miles before reaching Phil, Sara removed the pillowcase and dumped the backpack with its contents in a sewer. Carefully, she folded the pillowcase and tucked it into the pouch of her hoodie.

“So what happened?” Phil asked. Quinn was back at the apartment, looking Phil in the eyes, which were filled with curiosity and excitement.
Quinn took a deep breath and opened her mouth as if she was going to speak, but instead she stopped and ran to the bathroom. She dropped to her knees, positioned her face over the toilet, and threw up. The stomach acid burned her esophagus as the smell of blood mixed with garbage stuck to her nose.
Phil held her hair. “It’s okay,” he said. “Let it all out.”
When Quinn stopped vomiting, she threw herself onto the floor, lazily extending one leg over the edge of the tub and the other curled up under her.
“Quinn, what happened, baby? Talk to me,” Phil said.
Quinn reached into one of the pockets of her cargo shorts and presented the bloody ring to him. Phil smiled as he took the ring. Clearly he recognized it.
She opened her hands and placed them on her face, wanting to cry, but she couldn’t. She realized that she didn’t feel bad for what she had done; she was in shock because she had done it. Anything meant anything and the sight of Phil being beyond happy with her made her feel more pleased than disgusted. She removed her hands from her face and looked up at the ceiling.
I hate love.
“Take a shower with me?” he said.
Quinn chuckled, still lying on her back looking up at the ceiling. His demand reminded her what she had done this for, and now it was time to collect. He was officially all hers, forever.
“Yes,” she replied.
Phil pulled her from the floor and pulled the T- shirt over her head, allowing her long hair to fall effortlessly onto her back. He slid his boxers down and unbuttoned her cargo shorts, beckoning her to take them off. She did and they stepped into the shower.
Phil pressed his body up against her back, wrapped his arms around her waist, and softly kissed her neck. He continued to massage her neck with his tongue and lips as he moved one hand down her torso and used the other to massage her breasts. Quinn moaned softly. She looked down at her feet as light pink strands of blood ran down her body and into the tub. She must’ve missed more blood than she thought. She studied her hands as the shower water trickled down each of them. She couldn’t believe what she had done with them, something she didn’t think she was capable of. But Quinn had decided she was crazy about Phil. She had proven there were no bounds when it came to fulfilling his wishes. As long as it meant he was finally hers, that was all that mattered.

Once Sara returned to the apartment, she pounced into Phil’s arms, forcing him to pick her up as she wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist.
“Do you have something for me?” he asked as he held her tight.
Still in his arms, she pulled the pillowcase from her pocket.
He chuckled. “That’s not exactly what I had in mind, but it’ll work.”
Ignoring him, she dropped the pillowcase and passionately shoved her tongue into his mouth, pouring all the energy she had remaining in her body into kissing him. Sneaking into Lana’s home and killing her in cold blood had somehow made her ravenously horny.
He pulled her head back, severing contact with her lips and tongue. She stared into Phil’s green eyes, trying to read his feelings for her, but she quickly gave up. She would be satisfied with fantasizing about the murder while having sex with him, the one who had made it all possible. Sara tilted her head towards the couch, and Phil complied with her silent request, carrying her in that direction as they continued to kiss.
“How did it make you feel?” he asked as he removed her sweater.
“Powerful,” Sara whispered as she sucked on his neck. “Courageous. Unstoppable. Horny.” Sara was terribly aroused by the thought of Phil inside her.
She and Phil made love on the couch. They shoved each other around roughly on the small space, Sara biting and tugging, Phil scratching and pounding her forcefully. After her third orgasm she dozed off, wrapped in his arms.
Sara was awakened by Phil, who was calling out for her from one of the back rooms.
“Sara!” he yelled.
She wasn’t sure how long she’d been out and she hadn’t felt him get up. Sara was exhausted and briefly struggled to pull herself from the dream world into reality.
“Sara!”
She wiped her eyes with her hands, nearly hitting herself in the face as she sat up on the couch.
“What?” she yelled back.
“Come here for a second.”
She stood up from the couch, still rubbing her eyes. She made her way through the apartment for the first time and approached the bedroom at the end of the hallway, the only door half open with the light on.
She pushed the door completely open and peered inside, hoping to find Phil.
But he wasn’t there. Instead, there was a woman lying naked on the bed on her back, staring blankly at Sara with huge gray eyes. The woman’s head was tilted, lazily facing Sara’s direction with her lavender-colored hair splayed across her face. The woman’s long, pale, thin figure remained static.
Is she dead?
Sara slowly approached the woman, expected for her to say something or jump up at any second.
Before she reached the foot of the bed, she was stopped by the sound of Phil’s voice.
“She’s dead,” he said.
Sara whipped around to find Phil standing there naked. Before she could react, he swung an aluminum baseball bat and it came crashing into her forehead.

Phil felt much better. He had gotten revenge on both Rob and Lana, and then to regain a sense of power in his life, he’d killed Quinn, whose neck he had snapped in the shower. Beating Sara to death with the bat had been the icing on the cake. Both women had done well taking care of his problems, but they knew too much, and he couldn’t leave any loose ends.
As he’d swung the bat on Sara, he could feel his connection to his dark side returning, realizing how far he would go to regain control. The only person who truly knew Phil had been his father. The accident with his mother had negatively affected his behavior as a child, as his father quickly found after his brief stint as a pet killer. With his mom gone, the old man was left to tame Phil’s violent side with therapy and an immense amount of time and patience.
But his dad was gone, so there was no use in pretending that all his efforts had worked. Phil didn’t care for Lana, Rob, Quinn, or Sara. He was in love with the life they’d allowed him to have. A life he’d crafted from a dream. But Phil didn’t believe in living in the past. He was all about moving forward.
The thought made him smile as the shower washed away Sara’s blood. Once dressed, he snatched up his duffel bag full of clothes and made his way out of the apartment. He wasn’t fazed by the rain that riddled the dim morning sky or the chilly breeze that stung his wet face. He quivered with excitement as his fingertips ran along the leather-encased booklet in
his pocket. According to it, he was no longer Phil. He was a millennial named Adam Reynolds from Sandusky, Ohio.
Thank you, darknet.
He enjoyed the bittersweet flavor of power that came along with a flawlessly executed plan. It had been so easy. Quinn, per his instructions, had taken a week off from work, and no one knew where Sara was. He’d be long gone before the shit hit the fan, and he took pride in that notion.
He walked a few miles before dumping the bloody pillowcase in an alley that was coated in junk on either side and dropping the bloody pinky ring in the sewer.
He hailed a cab on a busy street and ordered the driver to go to the airport, giving him extra money to step on it. Phil’s international flight was departing in a few hours and he didn’t want to miss this opportunity.
A new life awaited him.
