The Voris' Mate Page 18

“So if someone called you a cunt or a pussy…” Shaagra stopped when he caught sight of the dark look coming over her face. “Got it,” he said hastily.

  Chapter 19

The guys were absurdly fascinated with Reggie during her period. They didn’t find the smell off-putting like she thought they would; instead, they were breathing her in every time she turned around. It almost got aggravating to find a male underfoot, stalking her through their nest. Even shy Walooth seemed to be at hand more than usual.

The one thing her mates hadn’t liked was Reggie shutting down playtime. The bathing cubicle wasn’t big enough to fit any of them in with her, much less both of her mates, and she wasn’t particularly into dealing with the aftermath of sex in their nest proper. Not after it had taken her hours to get blood off everything that first day.

Naturally, she was more than relieved when it over, and then her mates were on her ass for entirely different reason. Shaagra and Vadal spent the greater part of that morning licking and kissing her skin, taking turns burrowing between her legs before the whole thing turned in a post-period fuck-a-thon.

After four days of abstinence, she was ready to crawl out of her own skin with need, so she’d been more than ready for them.

The naughty part of her imagined Walooth listening to them, and as the day progressed, she became more obsessed with the idea as she watched him do his normal routines around the nest, his body displaying eagerly for her. It had become so normal that it didn’t even strike her as odd anymore. It was flattering and sweet, and her fantasy was going round-and-round with what he might be doing with that bulge in the quiet of the resting room.

Once again it was only her and Walooth in the nest. It seemed to happen once or twice a week from Reggie’s reckoning. Shaagra had left early to go hunting with the males—and to keep strict eye on his cousins who were accompanying them—and Vadal was hard at work in the healing alcove, dividing his time between treating his clan members and engaging in his research. Reggie had volunteered some cells the week before, and again just yesterday, and many of the females of his clan did likewise.

She was aware that he was absorbed in his two-fold objectives. One, to observe how human-Vori breeding might impact offspring from the unions, which he confessed he wouldn’t be able to study in-depth until their own nestlings came. Reggie wasn’t sure how she felt about her children being test subjects, but she knew he wouldn’t really treat them that way. Their nestlings would be his treasured young first and foremost.

The second line of research was looking at female Vori genetic material and trying to work out the spikes of aggression that they called the madness, and if there was anything on the female end that was causing fertility issues for the species. He had tons of research from his time in Evath in studying male Vori, but this was his first opportunity to look at a selection of females, though admittedly small.

Before he’d left that morning Vadal had tenderly kissed her and reminded her that Walooth only waited for her word. She’d narrowed her eyes at him, but his playful wink let her know that he knew exactly how much Walooth was affecting her. And not just physically. Something about him made her heart go all warm and gooey, especially when he turned those gentle, hopeful eyes on her, making it obvious how much he yearned for her.

Now she was alone with him again and felt as awkward as a virgin.

Frustrated, she dug through the fiber packaging to eat the last morsels of the sweets he’d brought her from Norveth. She couldn’t remember the name of anything, but he’d assured her that none of it was made from insects,. Licking the sticky residue as she leaned against the kitchen counter, she paused when she heard a sharp intake of breath.

Her eyes slowly lifted and Walooth was just feet from her, his eyes wide and focused on her lips, the slits of his pupils blown out to perfect diamonds. She could almost hear his every shaky inhale. She very slowly set the bag aside, his eyes tracking her movements like a predator. Licking her lips, she pushed away from the counter.

“Walooth, are you okay?” she whispered.

He swallowed nervously, his head jerking. He didn’t dare blink, as if he were afraid to lose sight of her for even a second. His salet bulged like a hard, persistent knot.

Her eyes trailed over the bulge as the seam began to slowly push forward under stress from his cocks. Her lips twitched at the sight of his desire for her. She refocused her attention his face.

“Would you like me to touch you, Walooth?” she whispered.

His eyes widened and he managed to move his tongue long enough to respond, “Yesssss.” His eyelids drifted to half-mast as he drew out the sound.

Reggie’s fingers skittered up his pectorals, before stroking back down, playing with the tight muscles of his abs. His build may have been more delicate than that of Shaagra and Vadal, but he was still larger than her and firmly built with packed muscle. Her fingers traced the speckling of scales that scattered down his chest and belly.

Reggie leaned forward and lightly caressed his lips. At first, his lips were still and pliant beneath hers, but he was a quick learner. Before long, he was leaning into her kisses, darting forward to pull at her mouth every time she pulled back to suck in a breath. His tail began to instinctively coil up behind her, to provide support if she chose to initiate sex right at that moment. She was certain that he was signaling his readiness.

Reggie hit the brakes. Walooth wasn’t going to lose his virginity on the kitchen floor of all places. She had to do this right.

“Would you join me in the nest proper, Walooth?” she asked between drugged kisses.

Walooth pulled back and flushed with pleasure. “Does this mean you are deciding to allow me to join with you and your mates now?”

He looked so heartbreakingly uncertain that Reggie smiled brilliantly to reassure him. “Yes, Walooth, that is exactly what this means.

Joy suffused his face. He let out a loud happy click and spun her happily in the air as his coils rippled around him. Between one breath and the next, he lowered her to his mouth and Reggie wrapped her legs around his lean hips as he worshipped her mouth with his in a series of slow, sweet kisses.

She was oblivious that he’d carried her into the nest proper until he lowered her to a soft crimson pillow. He leaned back, resting on his coils, and watched her expectantly. Reggie grinned flirtatiously at him. She knew very well what he was waiting for. He was waiting for her to make the first move.

Summoning her courage, Reggie leaned forward and crept on all fours across the pillows to him. His eyes widened with interest, pupils contracting and expanding with desire as he raptly watched her progress toward him. When she reached him, she stroked the flat of her palms up his belly, marveling at the way the muscles contracted and shivered beneath her hands.

She made her way up his chest, winding her arms around his neck, reveling in the way his crown coils suddenly flowed down around her, twining around her arms. Pelvis to pelvis, very gently she rocked against him. His fingers tightened on her hips.

  “Reggie, may I—?” he panted.

Wordless, she nodded her head. Yes, she wanted to feel his hands on her. More than anything. With surprisingly deft fingers, she slipped her loose tunic off her body, baring the entire expanse of her body to his view.

“You are so very beautiful,” he hissed.

“You’re beautiful too,” Reggie said as she looked over him with admiration.

Walooth grinned up at her, a smile which contorted into an expression of pleasure when her hands stroked down his belly and over his salet. His members quickly filled her hands and she built his passion by the gentle pull of her hands upon him.

Once he began shifting beneath her hands with writhing intensity, Reggie slid up his body and wrapped her thighs around his hips, bringing the heat of her core even with his cocks, allowing the slick to coat him with every pass of her lips over his erect flesh.

When the coil of his tail came up behind her, anchoring her to him,
Reggie knew he was there. He’d surrendered all control to her, and now he was offering his body for support so that she might take her pleasure from him. She groaned and kissed him, coaxing his mouth to open to her, tangling her tongue with his as she reached between them and brought his cocks together before directing them to her drenched entrance.

Enveloping the heads of his cocks in her wet heat made him groan out loud, a long hiss escaping his throat. His claws lightly gripped her hips and his eyes rolled back as she rocked against him, slowly building their pleasure.

His breath grew more ragged, creating a harmony of pants and moans between them. Reggie could feel her inner walls beginning to ripple with pleasure as they sweetly built their orgasm together. Walooth’s cocks started to pulsate deep within her. He threw his head back and arched his hips up, desperate to pull every bit of pleasure out of the moment.

When the heat of his cum spurted inside of her, Reggie was tipped over the pinnacle of her own orgasm, her pussy clenching down brutally on him, encouraging his balls to empty every bit of their essence into her. She was so caught in the moment that she’d forgotten about what happened with copulation for Vori. At the crest of their orgasm, Walooth struck forward and sank his teeth into her shoulder, triggering another orgasmic wave through both of them.

“Walooth!” she shouted out, joined only by his soft moan against her skin as he emptied himself completely.

  ***

Some time later, Walooth lay in Reggie’s arms, his tail coiled gently around her to give her comfort, warmth and support as she dozed. He was not tired at all. In fact, never had he felt more energized. Part of him worried about how the other males of the nest would react. They were her mates and she’d joined with him without their presence. He did not know if they would be mad at him, attempt to drive him from the nest, or be mad at her. He could not bear the thought of them being angry at her. He would not allow anyone to make his sweet, beautiful Reggie sad. She’d offered him everything.

A small sound alerted him to their presence. Shaagra and Vadal peered down at them, their faces expressionless if one did not count the upward quirk of Shaagra’s brow.

“She invited you into our nest?” Shaagra whispered so not to disturb Reggie.

“She did,” Walooth confirmed, feeling an edge of defensiveness.

Shaagra and Vadal exchanged a long look that Walooth couldn’t read and then grinned at him. “Good,” they said in unison.

“Good?” he asked, shocked at the response.

Shaagra nodded. “You two have been gliding around each other enough. She had waited long enough to bring you into the nest proper. Now that she has, we can continue as a real family… and free up that room you have been staying in.”

Vadal nodded, his lips quirking up with amusement.

Walooth relaxed and leaned back further into the pillows, luxuriating in the feel of acceptance and the knowing that belonged in there with them. Without a word, the other two males stripped off their vests and sprawled around him and Reggie, their tails coiling lightly with his.

There was much to be done around the nest, including moving his belongings into the nest proper, but a nap with his family was but a small delay that surely could not hurt.

  Chapter 20

Vadal scanned the cellular samples he’d recently acquired. The screener unit projected a perfect image in front of him of the cell itself. With a slide of his finger, he adjusted the magnification. His recording device sat by his left elbow, waiting only for his voiced notations to trigger it.

Life was different from Evath, yet Vadal found himself surprisingly content. A word that he never thought he’d use in conjunction with life in his clan’s territory under the unshakeable oversight of his mother. He sighed and adjusted the magnification, making a few additional notes of interest. He knew his mother meant well; she was just always too involved, to the point that he felt like a creature caught in her coils, slowly suffocating.

But to his surprise, she’d retreated from his private affairs to a remarkable degree over the weeks. With that small amount of room to breathe, he discovered an unknown love for acting as a clan healer. He found himself fulfilled and happy treating his kin without constant oversight, as well as further pursue his research unfettered.

He wearily rubbed his eyes. Acting as a healer was also a pleasant diversion from the strain of his research, if he were honest with himself. He’d spent hours with these samples, and every time he looked at them, or looked at the cells of his mate, he felt like there was something he was missing that was right in front of him.

An intuition that he was unable to realize.

Even though the Vori populations would never recover and remain healthy without mating with humans and introducing new genetic material, he was determined to discover the root problems of their own species’ fertility, lest they risk repeating the same cycle in the future. He was certain that it a mutation somewhere. But where?

“Doctor Vadal?” a hesitant voice broke in.

Vadal looked over and saw his cousin’s mate in the entrance of the alcove. Alassha was her name. He smiled at her and the squirming nestling in her arms.

“How can I be of service, Alassha?”

“The clan mother said that you would be able to give my nestling immunizations?”

The hopeful question in her voice hurt his hearts. It told him all he needed to know how much his clan had suffered during his long absence. The elder healer was a good male but lacked knowledge in many medical advancements or the more common immunizations. He bestowed a kind look on her and gestured for her to approach.

With a practiced hand, he pulled out his immunizer and began to flip through his vials of inoculations for the common diseases on Vora and those brought in by traders and offworlders.

“What has he been given to this date?”

“N-nothing,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “He is the only nestling of the clutch to hatch. He looked so tiny that I was afraid for weeks to leave the nest with him.”

Vadal felt sympathy for the female. “Of how many eggs?”

“Four,” she choked out with misery.

Vadal closed his eyes. Only one out of four, and she felt fortunate for the one.

This was all too common among the Vori. A sad state when their histories told of healthy large clutches of three or more eggs. He forced a cheerfulness in his demeanor to comfort the mother and nestling.

The nestling looked up at him from his mother’s arms, his soft moss-green scales like water with the way they caught the weak light. Despite the mother’s worries, he looked like a healthy and happy nestling. He gently rubbed the dull side of his claw against his soft belly making him squirm and grab his hand. The nestling’s tail wrapped around his wrist tightly.

  Reflexes were good.

“Well, that is fine. I have all the necessary inoculations for him. He isn’t going to be happy for it and will quite probably not feel well tonight, or maybe even tomorrow, but it will serve him well.”

Meticulously he combined the vaccines and pressed the immunizer against the thick flesh of the nestling’s upper tail. The little male screwed up his face in anger, the delicate crown coils moving in sign of irritation. Then it was over, and the nestling was coiled up snug against his mother’s breast.

His heart melted just a little at the sight.

  ***

Reggie groaned and pulled her tunic away from her skin. It was seriously hot. It was hot more often than not on Vora, but she was positively sweltering these last few days. She took a damp cloth and ran it under her breasts.

  Ugh, boob sweat. Wonderful.

  “Are you feeling well, Reggie?”

Reggie peeled an eye open to see Walooth looking down at her in concern. She’d refused to leave the nest proper since waking, having determined the day before that it was the only remotely cool place in their nest.

  “Aren’t you hot?” she groaned.

He tilted his head to the
side in consideration.

“No more so than any other time. I do not believe the temperature has changed much since it shifted into summer approximately three lunar cycles ago.”

“Thank the gods you have seasons! Why couldn’t I have come in winter?” she moaned her misfortune.

Walooth’s lips twitched up. “It is not much cooler in winter.”

She sighed. “Of course it wouldn’t be.”

He frowned as he watched her with rising concern.

“Your skin is looking flushed. You do not look well at all, Reggie.”

“I’m just really, really hot,” she muttered as she flung herself face-first into a pillow that was marginally cooler than the one she’d abandoned.

  “Perhaps a trip outside—”

“No,” she said into the pillow, her voice muffled. “It’s even hotter out there. I am not leaving the nest.”

He leaned forward, his lips curving with humor. “What if I can promise you a place much cooler?”

Reggie turned her face toward him with a doubtful scowl. “Really?”

  Walooth nodded his head guilelessly.

Reggie debated. She really didn’t want to leave her comfy nest. Then again, she would sell her soul to be cool again, even a little. Oh, what the hell? Reggie groaned and stretched her arms out to Walooth for him to help her up. He obliged with a chuckle.

“It’d better be cool,” she muttered.

  ***

Walooth grinned at Reggie’s expression of bliss. She leaned into a shift of breeze like she leaned into his hands when he caressed her. Her moans were so similar to the noises she made in clutch with them that he would almost be jealous if he were not so aroused.

He’d brought her to one of his favorite places in Norveth territory, only a few miles away from the nesting grounds. Sitting high in the canopy overlooking a waterfall, the rising spray and cool air from the water were a treat few Vori experienced. The weight of most of his brethren did not allow them to get high enough in the trees to allow them such close proximity to the Viiper Falls.
