“No.” She pursed her pink lips. “You didn’t. I think… we did well for tonight’s lesson, don’t you?”
Disappointment weighed my chest down like a ton of bricks. She wants me to leave. I forced a smile and cupped her face. “It’s my favorite night so far.”
She smirked before turning off the water and getting out of reach to wrap a towel around her body.
She stared at the door, but I remained in the bathroom, certain something was off. “You mentioned you wanted to talk, and I don’t like leaving right now if I don’t know you’re absolutely okay.”
“Can we talk tomorrow?” she asked, her wide eyes looking a little glassy. “Please?”
She looked worried, and if waiting to have this much needed conversation would help her feel better, I could wait. “Yeah. We can.”
She exhaled loudly, and I tried not to take her relief personally. She sucked me off and came apart on my hand twice, yet she was kicking me out. Not great for my ego, that was for sure. She held the white towel tight against her chest as her wet hair plastered to her skin. The sight made me smile.
“You’re pretty cute.”
“Me?”
“Yes, duh. No one else is here.” I rolled my eyes, grabbed my clothes from the club, and slipped on my boxers and pants. “Can’t wait until tomorrow night, Lex. It’s going to be fun.”
“Yeah? Why’s that?” she asked, her face reddening again.
“I’m going to taste you,” I said, dropping my gaze to her legs. “There. Over and over.”
She gulped and blinked a few times before nodding. “Goodnight, Will.”
Without thinking, I leaned toward her and dropped a kiss on her mouth. I could taste myself on her and loved how fucking soft her lips were.
We had to talk, but after that, I was going to show her how sexy she was.
Chapter Seven
Lexi
This couldn’t be happening. Flirting with him, kissing him, being with him had to be a dream or something, because Will Slate was not into me. There was no way. Yet...Will sat a little too close at the cafe while Charley shopped at the next store down.
“You’ve been avoiding me. I’m surprised you’re not shopping with her,” he said, bringing his hand down on my thigh and squeezing. He released my leg just as quick, and my breath caught in my throat at the way he looked at me, warmly and tenderly.
“I haven’t been avoiding you, per se.” I took a sip of water and used the couple of seconds to gather my thoughts. “It’s...I don’t know, Will. This is a lot. Like, we’re fooling around for three more days, but we’ve shared things that have a bigger impact than this trip.”
“How so?”
I blushed cherry red and scanned the crowd walking by the cafe. Thinking about Charley seeing us touching like this got me sweaty. She wouldn’t understand what was happening at all, and while I hated keeping this from her… it was necessary until the trip was over. Then we’d go back to seeing each other five, six times a year, and Charley could keep me in the loop about his life.
My chest felt tight and heavy thinking about our situation that way, but it was the truth and I needed to remember that. This was him helping me out with my hang ups, not him being into me like that. “We’ve done stuff, seen each other naked. Kissed.”
“Yes, I’m aware. Thank you for reminding me.” His eyes flashed with desire, and he ducked his head as a couple of girls walked by with their phone pointed at him. The brief humor left, and instead, his expression was set in stone. The hairs on the back of my neck stood on end, and I glared at the two girls.
“Have you seen the photos? He’s huge.”
“God, I’d like to ride him.”
“She tried to get pregnant to keep him--hell, I would too.”
“Fuck off,” I said, my body humming with anger as they talked about him like he wasn’t even a person. The playful, joyful man I knew disappeared, and I hated that. “Go. Stop looking at him.” I stood up, the chair making a loud horrible sound as metal dragged on cement, but the two women ducked their heads before walking faster down the sidewalk.
Every person at the cafe looked at us now, and my skin was redder than a lobster as embarrassment made my knees weak. I shoved the flush of shame down though and sat next to Will, needing to check on him. I could overthink my outburst later. “Hey, you okay?”
When his gaze met mine, worry and vulnerability poured out of him. “It shouldn’t feel so dirty to hear them talk about me like that. I slept around early in my career, hell, I loved the lifestyle. But the camera, their laughter, it makes me sick.”
“I’m so sorry, Will. That woman broke your trust and deserves a fist in the face.” I reached over and put my hand on his shoulder. “No one deserves to hear that or to go through this. I’m furious thinking about the invasion of your privacy.”
“How the fuck can I trust someone again, you know?” His jaw tensed, and he stared toward the beach, the weight of the world on his shoulders. “It’s one thing to have crazed fans, but this woman played me. We were together, dating even. She met Charley.”
I felt like someone gripped my heart and squeezed with all their might. “You’ll trust again, Will. You’ll find someone who won’t hurt you.”
His razor-sharp eyes landed on me for a second before he parted his lips. Whatever he wanted to say remained unspoken because Charley came back and had enough emotional intelligence to read the room.
“What happened?” she asked.
“Fans started saying shit to Will,” I said, gritting my teeth. “I got them to go away.”
“Lex told them to fuck off, actually.” He barked out a laugh as Charley nodded and looked up and down the sidewalk. “You won’t find them, don’t bother.”
“I thought people wouldn’t pay attention here or care who you were. I’m sorry, Will. This shit shouldn’t be allowed.”
He sighed. It felt weird having my hand still on him, so I took my fingers off and made a fist in my lap. He let out a small grunt, but that couldn’t be from me moving my hand, since his sister was right there.
“Let’s head back to the condo,” he said, standing up and waiting for me to do the same. He put a hand on my lower back and led us out of the cafe to join Charley on the path, and two things crossed my mind.
She didn’t think him touching me was inappropriate or give any indication that she knew I was into her brother. The second realization was that Will always put his hand on me like this when we got lunch or saw each other at Charley’s. This gesture wasn’t new, but his touch felt different. Maybe it was the way he dug his fingers into my skin or yanked my shirt back when I tried to walk faster.
Charley started rambling on about the shit Will’s ex did to him and how she’d get even, but Will ran his fingers up my back to my neck where he teased my earlobe. I slid him a warning look, but he grinned and did it again.
By the time we got back to the convo, I was sweaty, angry at those women, and nervous that Will was playing with fire right now. We needed to talk, not flirt, but he didn’t seem to be on the same page. His hand got closer to my ass as we walked inside, and I swatted him away.
“What do you want, Will? Rum? Beer? Food? Us to leave so you can watch porn?” Charley said, her attempt at lightening the mood almost working.
“Christ, no.” He shook his head and collapsed onto the couch. “To be normal. To not have to worry about people taking pictures of me. To be able to trust again. The usual.”
My heart broke for the big, kind-hearted man. I didn’t think about how my embrace would look to Charley. I went up to him, sat on the couch, and put an arm around him so he rested his head against my chest. “You’ll get there, I swear.”
“This is helping, for sure,” he said, making my face turn red as Charley looked on with half a smile. “Yes, mmm, right there.” He nuzzled against my breasts.
“Will, stop, what are you--don’t do that!” I said, my voice sounding super awkward as I pretended to be mad about it.
“You have nice boobs. Charley even said so.” He winked at me as his sister laughed and the creak of a cupboard sounded from the kitchen. “Are you going to turn me away when I need comfort?”
“You’re playing a dangerous game, Will Slate.” I narrowed my eyes as he rested his face on my chest again, a large sigh leaving him. His muscles did seem to relax as he lay there, and I ran my fingers through his hair, massaging his scalp.
Charley came into the room with a bottle water and a bag of chips. She flipped the TV on, not even wincing as her brother cuddled up next to me. Wasn’t this uncomfortable for her? Didn’t she want to know why we were so close?
“He just did this,” I said, like that would explain why his mouth was inches from my pebbled nipple. The thin shirt was a great idea earlier, but now I could feel his warm breath through it. “Lay on me, I mean.”
She furrowed her brows and looked between Will and me for a second before shrugging. “I’d lay on you too. You’re comfy.”
“You are,” he said, turning his face so he really could bite my nipple if he wanted. “Keep doing that with your fingers. It feels good.”
I continued massaging him, and my throat got all tight when he closed his eyes and melted onto me. This large man who made millions of dollars was with me, relaxing with a small smile on his face that I helped put there. It was an intoxicating feeling. It felt natural to chill with him like this, and after thirty minutes of working on him, I realized he was asleep.
He let out a tiny snore, and I giggled but stopped in fear of waking him up.
“I always wondered if you two would get together.”
I whipped my head toward Charley who watched us with a soft look on her face. “Wh-what?”
“You and Will. You fit.” She shrugged and went back to scrolling on her phone instead of watching the TV.
“How do we… fit? He’s… famous, and I’m not.”
“Uh, do you think he gives a shit you’re not famous? You’re loyal as hell, have a banging body that I might be into, and are the kindest person I know.” She scoffed like I told her I had fifteen fingers instead of ten. “I know you’re in an odd headspace about dating, but babe, you’re a catch. If anything, you might be too good for him.”
“Oh, that’s not true. He’s wonderful. He loves his family, works so hard, is always considerate, and never let fame get to him.”
Her smile widened. “Look at you defending him. Loyal.”
My face warmed, and my stomach somersaulted at her lack of worry. My best friend didn’t protest the thought of her brother and I together. Never in a million years did I think her encouraging us would be a reality. Swallowing got more difficult the longer the silence stretched on, and when Will moved around to let out a little grunt, my heart exploded into pieces. This wonderful man had his trust shattered, and if by some reason he wanted me, I’d go for it. Even if our time together was just for the trip, I’d enjoy every second of what we shared.
Chapter Eight
Will
If Lexi knew I was awake, she’d freak out, and the last thing I wanted was for her to hide from me. Not now. Not after tasting her, being with her, and hearing her tell those women to fuck off. It wasn’t supposed to be sexy when complete strangers made fun of me and my life, but seeing Lexi ready to fight sent a thrill through me that I hadn’t felt in a long time.
She was on my team, one hundred percent, and that fact allowed me to trust her. No hesitation, no doubt. I never realized how important loyalty would become, but after the leaked photos and the story in the tabloids, honesty was one of most redeeming qualities in a woman. Plus, Charley gave us her blessing.
There was nothing stopping us from being together longer than this holiday trip Especially since she stood up to my sister about me. God, she was gorgeous.
Lexi and me...I forced myself not to laugh since I was faking being asleep. The nerdy, beautiful programmer couldn't tell the difference between baseball and soccer, orgasmed loudly, and had a body that went on forever. She was perfect for me. Before the week was over, I’d convince her we could make this work.
Hell, we both lived in the city. The season wasn’t too demanding for travel, and her apartment was a twenty-minute walk from mine. There was nothing preventing us from seeing where this went, and I wanted to start showing her how good we could be. I stretched, taking my time to make all sorts of movements so she would hear me. It worked. When I squinted at her, she looked down at me with wide eyes and strands of her hair falling over her face.
“Hey,” I said, studying the features of her face. I’d never noticed how her eyes had little flecks of yellow in them before. “Thanks for being my pillow.”
“Yeah, right. Sure.” She cleared her throat and shifted her gaze away from me, her embarrassment almost tangible. That was unacceptable. I sat up and put my arm around her, waiting for her to relax, but she didn’t. She remained tense. I glared at my sister, jutted my chin to her room, and made my eyes go wide to tell her to get the hell out.
Charley smirked, tapped her finger to her chin, and sighed. “I’m going to put on some music, loud music, and relax. Maybe that’ll help me get over that shitbag.”
“Do you want ice cream or anything? Need company?” Lexi asked, almost hopping off the couch to get away from me. This would not do. Not now.
“Nah, I’m good. You two hang out. I’ll see you in the morning. I don’t wanna hit the bars tonight.”
“But what about my...plan to get laid?”
Charley snorted. “Oh, that plan isn’t forgotten. We’ll be back full force tomorrow.” Her eyes flashed at me before she picked up her water and disappeared down the hall. The second she was out of view, I cupped Lexi’s face and kissed the hell out of her. I slid my tongue into her mouth, and when she moaned, I almost shook with need.
“Lexi, baby, god,” I said, biting on her lip and picking her up so she straddled me.
“What are you--Will. Let me get up!”
“No.” I put my hands on her hips and held her tight.
“I don’t want to hurt you.” Her brows twisted in worry, and her mouth fell flat. “I’m sitting on you.”
“Yes, thank you. I’m aware and happen to like you on top of me.” I ran a hand down her side and gripped her ass. “You’re not hurting me one bit.”
She swallowed hard, and her breathing picked up when I kissed along her jawline. “Wh-what about Charley?”
“She knows. She doesn’t care,” I said, biting her earlobe and pulling the sensitive skin with my teeth. “I haven’t thought about much else besides kissing you since you told those women to fuck off.”
“She shouldn’t have said that to you—oh.” She moaned, her voice going deep when I rubbed my thumbs over the fabric stretched across her breasts. “Mm.”
I pinched the pebbled tips and stood up, holding her against me. In a few short strides, I walked the short distance to my bedroom. She fought my grip the entire time, but I just held her tighter. “All your squirming is making me harder.”
“Put me down, Will. I’m heavy.”
“I can bench four hundred pounds, Lex. Chill.” The door creaked when I pushed it open, and I set her gently on the bed before making sure the room was locked. Charley wouldn’t try and come in, I was sure of it, but I wasn’t taking any chances. I leaned against the door, watching the girl I’d known forever. The wind felt knocked out of me that this was the first time we’d done this. “You’re fucking beautiful.”
She blinked, shaking her head with a small smile. “Thank you.”
“Don’t look at the ground, I mean it. I’m sorry for whatever that fuck said or did for you to doubt it, but I really want to show you that I mean every word.”
“Yeah?” she said, her cheeks going red as I moved toward her and slid my hands up her legs. She gasped when I lifted her dress up and exposed her smooth thighs. She was soft all over, and I wanted to lick every part of her.
I kneeled on the floor and ran my nos
e along her inner thigh, taking my time licking and kissing her until her legs shook. The sounds coming out of Lexi grew desperate. God, her reactions were hot as hell, and I hadn’t even removed her underwear. I lifted the dress more and gripped her black panties. I slid them down, tossing them to the side before I brought my mouth to her clit.
“Will,” she gasped, arching her hips up and dragging her fingers through my hair. “Yes.”
I flicked my tongue against her, enjoying her taste and how wet she was for me. It was dirty and hot, and I wanted more. I slid two fingers into her, curling them up as I moaned into her warm pussy. Her legs trembled around my shoulders, and I sucked harder, giving her the pressure she needed before she came apart. “You. Are. So. Sexy,” I said, kissing all up her stomach.
She panted, and her eyes were wild. My chest grew tight at how much warmth hid behind that gaze. “It’s been years since anyone’s… gone down on me. I forgot how much I liked it.”
“Oh baby, I can do that every day if you want me too,” I said, grinning wide as her lips parted. “I love having your taste on my mouth.”
“That’s so filthy.”
“Yeah?” I gripped her legs and yanked her down the bed. “I think you like it. Now kiss me and taste yourself.”
She hesitated before she sat up and dragged my mouth to hers. The kiss was soft at first, but once she slid her tongue inside and groaned, she devoured me. It was all wet bites and teases. She fumbled with the buttons on my shirt while I yanked her dress off, reaching around to unhook her bra.
“Stupid belt,” she said, sucking my lip into her mouth as she struggled with my pants. I was a gentleman, so I helped her, and soon enough, we were both naked and making out like teenagers. She dug her fingernails into my back, wrapped her legs around mine, and for the first time in a long while, I wanted this to last. Each kiss, each stroke of her tongue, and each touch felt heavier than normal.
I trailed kisses down her neck and along her collarbone, swirling my tongue down her chest. I took one nipple into my mouth and bit the tip enough to make her buck. “You're amazing, Lexi.”
