A Very Merry Murder

Molly found her wineglass, took a spoon and tapped her glass to get everyone’s attention. Once everyone was quiet, she cleared her throat.
“I just want to thank everyone for being here tonight. I never thought I would be back in Ireland for Christmas, let alone living here again, but I’m so glad to be here with all of you, my family and old friends,” she raised her glass to Reanna. “As well as new friends,” she held her glass up to Henry and Imogen and winked at Liam.
“Christmas is a very special time, and I wanted to thank everyone for helping me, once again, solve a case for the Garda,” she smiled as some of the crowd cheered, and the four officers in the room booed in jest. “So, I wish every one of you a merry Christmas. But, we have more than Christmas to celebrate tonight. I would like to announce that we are also celebrating…” She pointed at Noah. “Drum roll, please,” she smiled as he played “air drums” and made a drumming noise. She looked at Keith, who pulled some papers out of his jacket pocket and handed them to her. The two stood together, and someone handed her a pen. Molly signed first, then Keith.
Aiden came over to them and held up his beer, “I now pronounce you officially divorced!”
Epilogue
December 31
Things calmed down in Dooley after Christmas. Keith and Lloyd had flown back to Michigan. Henry and Imogen had taken a holiday to Greece, and Reanna and Dillon were in France. Craig Wilson was in jail, awaiting trial, and Shannon Moore had gotten probation since Henry chose not to press charges. DI Elliott had tied things up nicely, taking all the credit for solving the case. She didn’t care, though. The case was solved, and she didn’t get shot, so she was happy. Liam and his team solved the drug case they’d been working on, closing down a large distribution ring operating out of Cork. So, they’d been spending quality time together the past week, and she couldn’t stop grinning.
Molly sat in front of her computer at the bookstore, looking at some files. She hated the accounting side of her job. She’d been the owner of the Book Nook since the end of June, and so she’d contacted an accountant. One thing he suggested was to back up all of her files.
Molly looked around for a thumb drive, remembering she’d found one in the kitchen. After scrounging around, she found one in a drawer in the kitchen. She took it to her computer and opened it up. There was a file on it she didn’t recognize. She opened it and shook her head. “Oh, my God. I had the file all the time.” She chuckled as she clicked it, then hit “delete.”
