Aaron turned towards me, a smirk on his face.

“Trust me, Lexi. These hands have been trained. I’m not gonna lose” He shouted back, a look of adorable certainty on his face.

  I folded my arms.

“You train your hands?” I questioned, confused.

He bit his lip to stop smiling and I couldn’t help but admire when he did that. He looked so attractive.

“Yeah, I train my hands.” He said, grinning widely.

“But I can’t take all the credit. I mean, if there were no ladies, I would have no-one to train my hands on. I’ve got to thank them.” He said. With that he winked and turned around, concentrating on the pins.

  “Urgh! Gross!” I grunted.

Aaron smiled and let go of the bowling ball, watching it hit all the pins down in an unquestionable strike.

“What can I say?” He said airily, turning to me. He flexed his muscles.

  “Practice makes perfect.”

  I pouted, childishly.

“I don’t want to play anymore” I folded my arms, turning my face away from him.

He laughed, sitting down beside me. I turned to him. His eyes were closed and his head was tilted up slightly. I smiled and turned away.

“Are you gonna cry?” He teased, peering at my face.

  I turned away, smiling.

“No!” I said, biting my lip.

Aaron laughed again and I was tempted to look, but I didn’t.

“Lexi.” He said, laughter bubbling in his voice. He then grabbed my chin and turned me to face him- our noses a few inches apart.

I breathed deeply, feeling nervous all of a sudden.

“Don’t be a sore loser, Lexi.” He whispered, his eyes switching from my eyes to my lips.

I instinctively licked them. He licked his in response.

He then looked at my eyes again and smiled.

“It’s not your fault that I’m better in every single way.” He stated cockily and with that he got up.

It took me a few minutes to understand what he had said. I had lost all senses when he licked his lips.

I gaped, but immediately recovered and turned to him.

“God, you’re such as ass, Aaron.” I said, smiling slightly. You could never be annoyed with Aaron. He was just very likeable.

Aaron grinned widely, tugging a hand roughly through his hair. And I felt the urge to touch his hair. It looked so soft. I’ve only gotten to touch it when we kissed and I was addicted to it. Heck, I was addicted to everything about him.

His laugh, his smile, his smell, his body, his eyes, his lips, his love towards his mother, his dirty jokes, his compassionate side. Everything.

It’s not that I liked him. No, that was not it. I mean, he just wasn’t my type. I liked rule following, kind-hearted gentlemen. And he just did not fit the criteria.

Aaron moved the hand to the back of his neck, where he rubbed.

“Don’t whine, Lexi. Why don’t we just go to dinner. I’m sure there’s nothing for you to lose there.” He said, smirking.

Aha. Is that how he wanted to play with it?

I moved towards him, closer and closer, until I reached his chest. He looked down at me, a smirk still present on his face.

I put a hand flat on his chest, appreciating the muscles that were underneath. I ignored them and tiptoed to try and reach his face level.

Even with me tiptoeing, my eyes were at level with his lips. He looked at me questioningly, his eyes dark. I bit my lip to hold back the smile.

This drew his attention to my lips. He looked at them with fire-ignited eyes, his tongue trailing out every now and then to lick his bottom lip.

I moved my hand from his chest to his neck slowly. His eyes followed my movements and he put his hand on my hip, squeezing tightly. This nearly made me lose control, but I composed myself.

I moved myself closer to his ear, breathing heavily.

“Good, because I am so starving.” I said normally. I moved back and rubbed my stomach, ignoring his confused looks.

  I turned towards him, smirking.

“You coming or what?” I questioned, not being able to hold in my laughter.

Aaron looked confused, but then a look of realisation dawned on his face and he smiled at me.

I turned to walk away from him until I heard him call my name. I faced him, folding my arms.

  “Yeah?” I asked, still smiling.

He smirked, folding his arms in response.

  “Game on.”

  *********************************

20 minutes. It has been 20 minutes we have been walking.

“Are we there yet?!” I shouted, trudging slowly. My feet were killing me.

He turned around, his face showing annoyance.

“You just asked me that two seconds ago.” He stated bluntly. He exhaled deeply, running his hand down his face. I groaned, shaking my feet to ease the pain.

He looked at my face, the look of annoyance slowly dissipating.

“You okay? Do your feet hurt?” He questioned, concern evident on his features.

I waved him off, flapping my hand exaggeratively in the air.

  “I’m fine. I’m fine.” I lied.

He rolled his eyes, coming towards me.

“You know you have the physical fitness of a really fat panda?”

“Hey, I do not!” I shouted defensively.

“Just compared to you because you’re so-”

“Fit?” Aaron interrupted, waggling his eyebrows in a wolfish manner.

“Yes, Aaron, that’s the word I was looking for.” I droned sarcastically, my voice void of emotion.

Well, it was the word I was thinking, but I was definitely not going to use it. My feet were already swollen. I didn’t need his ego inflating too.

He laughed- his head lifting slightly and his eyes closing. He suddenly grabbed me and pulled me in.

“What are you doing?” I questioned, trying to pull away, but his grip was too strong.

“Relax. I’m not touching you, in that way. You don’t have to worry about that” He reassured, laughter bubbling in his voice.

  That stung.

“But still, what are you doing? Let go.” I said, sounding more mean than I had intended to sound.

He didn’t seem to notice, but rather just smiled.

“Hop on to my back. You’re tired.” He suggested, pointing his thumb towards his back.

“No, its okay, Aaron.” I said, half-heartedly refusing the seemingly warm comfort of his god-blessed back.

He rolled his eyes yet again.

  “Just get on.” He commanded.

“You’ll drop me.” I complained, moving away from him.

He turned to look at me in shock. He then pointed to his muscles.

“How could this drop you?” He reasoned, flexing his arm muscles.

  I gave him a look.

“Yeah, flattering yourself is not going to persuade me.” I said flatly.

He groaned in frustration and looked up from the ground, sticking his hand out.

  “Do you trust me?”

I thought for a while. Did I trust him? I don’t know why, but I did. He just seemed trustworthy.

  He wouldn’t let me down.

I put my hand in his bigger one.

  “Yes” I said smiling.

He smiled back and pulled me in using my hand. Our bodies landing flat against each other.

“Then trust me when I tell you this. I would never drop you.” He breathed out onto my lips.

I nodded gently, staring into his eyes.

  “I know.” I breathed back.

Silence descended upon us. The both of us just staring blankly at the face of the other.

We both pulled away awkwardly, moving a few feet apart. I blushed and squirmed uncomfortably.

“Hop on my back then.” He said, choosing to ignore the previous awkward encounter.

“Yeah.” I said, smiling. He bent down and I jumped on.

/>   Wow! It looked so cool from up here! I smiled, not because I could see anything in a 20 mile radius, but because- from my vantage point- I had a perfect location to smell and feel his hair.

It smelt of something that resembled that of fresh air and raspberries. I smiled and indulged in his sweet smell, digging my nose deeper into his midnight locks.

“Hey, Dawson, this is not an opportunity for you to wipe your snot on my hair, understand?” He teased, looking up at me.

  I laughed.

“Oops too late” I mused, rubbing my nose vigorously across his hair.

“Gross!” He laughed, moving his head away from me.

I laughed in response, leaning my head onto his back. It was firm, yet, soft. I suddenly felt sleepy. The breeze was tender on my skin and Aaron’s breathing like a gentle symphony to my ears.

  “Lexi? You awake?” Aaron whispered.

I rolled my eyes because Aaron’s whispering was anything, but whispering.

“Yeah. I’m awake.” I murmured, cuddling deeper into his back.

  “We’re here.” Aaron sort-of whispered.

“Okay.” I whispered in response, getting off his back.

  Aaron looked down, smiling sadly.

“I want you to know that the place I’m taking you to eat is very special to me.”

I didn’t know what to do. Aaron looked genuinely sad and I was not good with comforting sad people, so I just put an arm on his arm as a form of sympathy.

He turned and faced me, still smiling sadly.

“I respect this place so much. It’s done so much for me.” He spoke passionately.

  I smiled in return.

“Then I’ll respect the place too” I said, honestly. He smiled at this.

  “Come on.”

  ********************************

  “McDonalds?!” I shouted.

“This is the place that’s so fucking special to you?!”

Aaron laughed loudly, covering his face with his hands.

“Jesus, Lexi, I can’t believe you bought it.”

  I sniffed, folding my arms.

“Well, excuse me for being so empathetic and understanding.” I muttered.

Aaron, upon hearing this, began laughing more violently. He was knelt down now, holding his knees. He then looked at me and started laughing again as if seeing my face replayed the whole event.

“I thought you were being genuine, jerk.” I moaned, turning to walk away.

Aaron pulled me back towards him.

“Don’t- leave-please-” Aaron said between laughs.

“Well, if you’re going to keep laughing like this then bye.” I told him, moving away again.

But suddenly I was pulled into a hug. Aaron had stopped laughing and had enveloped me in his arms, sighing deeply.

“God, you’re too cute.” He said and with that he pulled away and walked through the front door.

He didn’t know the effect he had on me. Probably because he wasn’t affected in the same way.

I smiled to myself at his compliment and walked in after him. The smell of batter emanated from the kitchen, taunting my nose.

This was much better than ‘The Goose’. The question was, which guy was better? I mean Elliot was nice, kind, sweet, polite and he treated me like a lady. Plus he actually liked me.

Aaron was cute at times and he loved his mom. Yet he was sometimes mean. And, let’s face it, before I agreed to help him he hardly knew my name. He doesn’t even like me, for christ’s sake! And Elliot does.

For the first time in forever, a guy has liked me and he’s a gentleman.

“Lexi?” Aaron called, sitting at table. He ushered me over with a long slender finger. I smiled, walking over.

  Now comes the difficult bit.

If I sit opposite him, it could potentially seem like a date, but if I sit next to him then he might think I’m trying to sit close to him and, like I said before, his ego does not need to be blown.

I stood over the table, contemplating where to sit.

Aaron raised his eyebrows looking at me intently.

“Well, do you need an invitation to sit down?” He queried, giving me a strange glance.

  I laughed nervously.

“Er, no. Where should I sit?” I asked, smiling.

His eyebrows raised even further at this.

“On a chair.” He stated bluntly.

I rolled my eyes. Boys can be such simple-minded creatures.

“I mean opposite you or next to you?” I said, but now, saying it out loud, I realised how stupid it sounded.

  He smirked at me.

“Wherever you feel comfortable, baby.” He flirted, making me blush. The word baby sounded very nice coming from his mouth.

“Ass.” I muttered, deciding to sit opposite him. The last thing I needed was to be within touch distance of the hottest guy at Redwood High.

  Aaron’s smirk widened.

“Why not near me, Lexi?” He questioned, an element of mockery amidst his tone.

I turned away from him and looked at my phone which, in turn, probably made Aaron’s ego bigger.

Aaron pulled my phone away, smiling devilishly.

“Just sit here. I don’t bite.” He said. He then came closer, our mouths only centimetres apart.

“Unless you want me too.” He whispered.

I blushed profusely, giving him the hardest glare I could muster. Aaron smiled, knowing the effect he had on me and sat back, getting out his own phone.

Before I could say anything to him, Aaron got up.

“I’ll go order our food.” He said, walking over to the counter.

I rolled my eyes. There was not minute where he wouldn’t flirt. It was like a second language for him.

Aaron came over holding a big tray and I died at the smell. He set it down between us and handed out our food.

“Dig in.” He said, an excited look on his face and I couldn’t blame him. Damn, I was excited too.

I looked over at Aaron who had already started to eat, ravaging his food like there was no tomorrow.

To be frank, watching him devour something so hungrily was so intriguing to watch. I had never known that eating could be so tantalizing to observe. And his face of contentment was so cute.

Aaron looked up at me questioningly.

“Are you going to eat or are you just going to stare at me?” He asked, his face blank.

I blushed in embarrassment. I was never one to get caught staring, that is.

“I was not looking at you!” I shouted defensively.

Aaron smiled slightly, folding his arms.

  “Oh yeah?” He said.

“Yeah!” I shouted. My eyes scanned the room.

“I was looking at her.” I said, pointing to the lady who was sat behind us with a huge blonde hairdo, covered in hairspray.

“I was staring at her hair. It’s so big.” I said, genuinely shocked about her hair.

  Aaron looked at me, smirking.”

“Well, If you wanted to stare at something big, you could’ve asked.” He muttered.

With that, he sat back and looked at the huge-haired lady, a devilish smile on his face.

“What?” I questioned, not sure what to expect. I mean, he was unpredictable.

Aaron got up and came to sit beside me, so we both had a full view of the ladies hair.

He moved to my ear, smirking as he did so.

“First one to get a chip caught in her hair wins. Loser pays for this meal.” He whispered, making me laugh.

He was just so strange all the time.

  I smiled, turning towards him.

“You’re on, Walker.” I said, picking a chip from my plate.

I aimed for her hair, looking down immediately afterwards. Just in case she felt it and turned around to find the culprit.

I wouldn’t mind if she thought Aaron was the culprit, but he would probably flirt his way out of trouble. Just like he did in school.

  “Too bad.” Aaro
n said, making me look up.

It had landed on her table beside her plate. She hasn’t seemed to notice. I blew out through my nose in frustration.

“So close!” I shouted in self-defence.

Aaron laughed his gorgeous laugh, picking a chip from the plate.

  “Sure it was.” He teased.

I laughed. He was such an idiot.

He aimed it at her hair, landing it in the middle of the huge hairdo.

  He smiled, his face smug.

  “First place, Dawson.”

“Yeah yeah yeah.” I said irritably. I just hated losing. He laughed, returning to his food.

I looked away. I needed to concentrate on eating. Not watching him eat. Although, it was both entertaining and attractive.

  Pftt, not that attractive.

28- Daddy And A Whole Lotta Drowning

“Are you done?” I asked incredulously, watching Aaron devour his 4th plate.

He explained it was because he was a ‘growing man’ and ‘no meal was big enough to satisfy his growing hunger’. I said I’d rather go with the explanation that men were pigs. It seemed to fit his situation more accurately.

  Aaron smiled.

“Yeah.” He wiped his hands on the napkin, ushering an employee over.

The employee, who had been watching our table the whole meal and was awed by the amount that Aaron ordered, smiled politely.

  “Are you done, sir?”

  Aaron jutted his hand out.

  “The bill.” He replied bluntly.

The employee smiled in return, pulling his notepad out of his pocket.

  “Of course, sir.”

‘Loser has to pay for the meal.’

I sighed, remembering Aaron’s words. I searched through my purse for my wallet.

Aaron pulled his wallet out of his back pocket, taking money out and giving it to the waiter.

“Keep the change.” He said, dismissing the employee with a wave of his hand.

“Hey!” I shouted, finally pulling my wallet out.

“Loser has to pay for meal, remember?”

Aaron smirked, putting his wallet back.

“Hey, I’m a gentlemen and a gentlemen always pays when on a date.”

I folded my arms. Was this a date?

“This is not a date.” I said stubbornly.

Aaron laughed and then looked at me, smirking. He then leaned in a little.
