“Yeah, that’s not going to be a problem.” I glanced over my shoulder to ensure no one was in range. “You taste too fucking good to share.”
Her eyes widened, her lips parting in a way that made me instantly hard.
I stepped closer, avoiding the boards between us, until we were inches apart. I couldn’t stop my hands from reaching for her face. “You know I love you, right?”
Her mouth fell into a perfect ‘o’.
“I have for a while, though I didn’t know it at first. But you tell me how to avoid falling in love with a girl who tells you her condom flute story with a straight face?” She flushed pink, laughing. “Listen. Since I know you have issues with saying things back, I’m not going to wait for it this time.”
The urge to kiss her was too strong and I gave into it, wrapping both arms around her and pulling her close. I claimed her with my mouth, my hands, proving she wasn’t going to get away so easily this time.
When I finally pulled back, her expression was dazed. “Wow. Okay, if I didn’t love you before, I might now.”
“You don’t have to say it, Dal.”
“But it might be true. At least, I’m sure I love your tongue…”
I snorted. “Listen. I know your apartment’s here and my workshop’s in San Diego, but I can drive. Every weekend or whenever we want.”
“You can sleep at my place.”
An idea took shape. “Yeah, I like that. In fact, I might need to see your bedroom right now,” I murmured. “I’ve been tired all day.”
“Oh. You want to take a nap before driving home tonight?”
Damn, she was cute. How I’d resisted her this long I’ll never know.
“First, given a recent and generous offer of a comfortable bed, I think I’ll stay one more day.”
“How do you know it’s comfortable?” she countered, her mouth curving.
“Because you’re in it. And second,” I went on before she could respond, “there will be no sleeping. Now or later. I hope to hell Mac has earplugs, because I’m not holding back.”
I hauled her to me. The way she fit against me, arousing me, felt outrageously right and sexy at once. My mouth claimed hers, coaxing, persuading, telling.
When we parted, Dahlia’s face was flushed, her eyes dazed. “Jordan texted. It sounded like she’d made dinner reservations. I wasn’t sure if you were going.”
I groaned. If we didn’t go, it would be worse. “We’ll go. I figure we have—” I checked my phone “—three hours. So we’d better get out of here.”
I laced my fingers through hers as I dragged her toward my Jeep.
“To do what?”
“I have a list.”
She dug in her heels, forcing me to turn around. “You made a list. Like, a sex list?”
“Yes, a sex list. Not on paper, in my head.” Dal followed me back toward the car and I shot her a look. “You have one too?”
“Maybe. Just since the other night on the couch.”
“Which goes down on record as the hottest thing I’ve ever witnessed. Just so you know.”
“But you didn’t even witness it,” she said coyly.
I groaned. “Damn, you’re going to kill me, Supergirl.”

A card-carrying millennial, I have two business degrees and zero hope of starting a fashion label (unlike my Travesty characters). I crave quirk the way some people crave kink, and believe life is too short not to do what—and who—you love.
