Fighting Love: The Complete Series Page 61

by Ash, Nikki

Suddenly, the marriage didn’t seem so fake. It seemed real, like even after tonight Mason would continue to be my husband, and the idea of Mason and me spending our life together didn’t feel scary or crazy. It felt good. It felt right.

  “Mila, it’s your turn.”

“I promise to tell you what I need every step of the way. I promise to always talk to you and never to go to bed angry. I promise to have sex with you every day so you never regret being tied down to one woman.” I giggled, but Mason just shook his head.

“I could never regret being tied down to only you.”

A tear formed, but I wouldn’t let it fall. “I promise to take care of you back. I know you think it’s your job to take care of me, but it’s also my job to take care of you. So, the talking goes both ways.”

The marriage officiant handed us the rings to place on each other’s fingers, announced us husband and wife, and said, “You may now kiss the bride.”

I know the wedding was quick. I know we weren’t dating. I know people think love at first sight is crazy. But in that moment, I meant and felt every word we both said, and now in the light of the day, I still feel them. I don’t want to get an annulment. I want to be Mason’s wife, but if he didn’t mean it, if he only went along with my crazy proposal to have sex with me, then it doesn’t matter what I want.

I take a quick shower, brush my teeth and hair, then wrap a towel around myself since my suitcase of clothes is in my room. When I get to the living room area, Mason is sitting on the couch, no longer naked but in his dress pants from the wedding. He’s typing on his phone, but when he hears me walk in, he looks up.

“I have good news and bad news. Which do you want first?”

  “The bad news.”

“Well, the bad news is, while Las Vegas allows people to get married on a whim, they don’t allow annulments on a whim. In order to get a marriage annulled, we have to either be blood related, admit that one of us didn’t consent to the marriage, or prove that one of us is crazy.” My heart sinks. He was looking up how to get an annulment while I was remembering our vows.

  “Okay…what’s the good news?”

“The good news is I’m pretty sure you’re fucking crazy, so maybe we can have you committed and use that as an excuse for the annulment.” He smiles wide and chuckles. Asshole!

“Real nice!” I shoot daggers his way before I turn my back on him and head to the bedroom.

“Hey! Wait!” He follows me into my room. “I was just kidding… sort of. Don’t worry, I already emailed my attorney with our information and he’s going to get the documents together to file for divorce.”

  “You already emailed him?”

“Yeah…” Jeez, he’s fast. I guess he really does want our marriage to be over, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy him while we’re still married.

I close the gap between us and make my move. “I know this is going to sound crazy.” I pause and wait for him to laugh—which he does while I roll my eyes. “What if since we can’t get an annulment, we just… I don’t know… enjoy the perks of being married.” I want to lower my eyes in fear of being rejected, but I keep them trained on Mason’s.

“Like until we file for divorce?” he asks.

I shrug as a couple of traitor tears leak out of my eyelids. I want to tell him that I don’t want to divorce. I want to stay married to him. But that’s totally crazy, right? “I know we weren’t even a couple before last night, but when I’m around you, I feel something awaken deep inside of me. Something that’s been dormant for a long time. I want to see where this goes. I want the out-of-this-world sex and the connection. I want us to take care of each other. I know we drank a lot last night but I meant my vows.”

Mason swallows thickly. “I’m going to mess up over and over again. You know that, right?” He nods emphatically at his own question. “And as long as we’re married I’m going to hold you to the vow of never going to bed angry and having sex with me every day. Not so I don’t regret being tied down to one woman, but hopefully because the sex will be so out of this world amazing, it will outweigh how crappy I am at the other parts of the marriage, like talking and communicating.”

My lips tip upward into a huge grin over the fact that he remembered every part of our vows just like I did. “Well, we’ve been married for close to eight hours and so far all we’ve done is talk, and you’ve convinced me to want to stay married to you, so you can’t be that bad at it.”

“Remember those words when I fuck this all up,” he warns.

“Can we consummate our marriage now?” I ask.

Mason throws his head back with a laugh before he sobers completely.

“Come here.” He jerks his chin down slightly indicating for me to go to him. “Are you sure this is what you want, Mila?”

“Yes, I want you. I want us.”

“And what happens once we do divorce? We go back to being roommates?”

I don’t want to think about that. I just want to focus on right now. Call me ignorant or naïve or even delusional. Tell me I’m deep in denial and pretending will only hurt me in the long run. I don’t care. I just want to live in this blissful bubble with Mason for as long as he’ll let me.

“We’ll figure it out.” I drop my towel to the floor, hoping to end this conversation. And I know it works when Mason smiles softly, only one corner of his mouth lifting, as he scoops me up and carries me over to the bed, laying me down on the middle of the mattress. Kneeling over my thighs, he leans over me and takes my nipple into his mouth, sucking on it. I watch as his lips wrap around the hardened peak, his tongue licking and swirling around the tip. I release a moan, my head going back in pleasure. It’s been way too long and my body is thrumming at his touch.

With Mason’s mouth never leaving my nipple, his hand begins to massage my other breast. His middle and forefinger pinching my nipple, sending waves of ecstasy to my core before anything has even happened. And then his mouth and hand are no longer on me. But before I can look back down, his mouth is on my neck. Kiss after kiss, he worships my body. Over my collarbone, my breasts, back up my neck and then over to my cheek, finally settling on my lips.

My hands find their way to his hair while Mason fucks my mouth with his. If this man fucks like he kisses… holy shit! He backs up slightly and scoots down until his face is parallel with the apex of my thighs. He locks eyes with me for a split second as he spreads my legs open, settling between them. Then he lowers his eyes and plants a soft kiss right onto my pussy. Spreading my lips, he runs his tongue straight up my center, landing on my clit. I can feel him and licking and sucking, and I about come on the spot. My body jerking and shaking with want.

“Oh God… Mason!” My lower half rises as he fucks my pussy with his mouth. My hand comes down to his head without meaning to and I push his face closer, needing more. I’m drunk on his touch and can’t be held accountable for anything I do or say from this point on. I feel the vibration of Mason’s chuckles against my clit and I moan loudly, pushing his mouth to my pussy harder before I let go. My orgasm shoots straight through my body like a bolt of electricity.

He lifts his face, his mouth glistening wet, and his tongue darts out to lick my juices off his perfect lips. “You taste as sweet as I thought you would.” I should be embarrassed, mortified, but I’m not.

Keeping his eyes trained on me, he pushes a finger into me. “Sit up and watch,” he commands, and I do as he says, leaning up on my elbows. He pushes his middle finger in and out of me a couple of times before he adds another and then another. His three fingers drive in and out of my pussy as his mouth goes back down. He massages the inside of me with his fingers while his tongue massages my clit, and a few seconds later, I’m coming all over his tongue and fingers. This feeling, this craving, this raw desire. It’s all new to me. Everything with Mason feels harder, deeper, more mind blowing, all consuming. I never knew it could feel this way. My body is shaking and my heart is thumping against my chest. I feel lik
e I’ve just had an out-of-body experience.

Without missing a beat, Mason crawls up the bed, his fingers still fucking me, his thumb taking over for his tongue. My orgasm is still going strong as his mouth lands on mine. I can taste myself on him as his tongue pushes past my lips. My hand finds his dick, and using the bit of precum on his tip, I swirl it around his head and stroke his shaft up and down. It’s rock hard and ready, but I need to taste him first. Pushing him down, I lower myself until I’m over him, his thick cock bobbing up and hitting his belly button.

Starting at the top of his scrotum, I lick my way up the underside of his shaft. Mason lets out a groan that vibrates down his entire body, and his fingers thread through my hair. I expect him to push my mouth onto his dick like I did to him, but he doesn’t. Instead, his fingertips massage my scalp gently. My lips part and I take his entire length into my mouth. I suck and lick, my head bobbing up and down. I can taste the saltiness of his precum on my tongue, indicating he must be close.

“Fuck,” he growls before he pulls my head up. “I need to be in you when I come.” He reaches for a condom then grabs me by my hips and flips us over. He rolls the latex onto his hardened length and enters me. His hands are planted on the mattress on either side of me and mine are holding onto his strong forearms. He kisses me with abandon as he thrusts in and out of me. My legs are spread wide and he hits somewhere deep inside of me. The top of his shaft rubs my clit, as he fucks my mouth and pussy simultaneously.

“Mason,” I moan as another builds. I’ve never come so many times this close together. My clit is sensitive, and my body is trembling.

“I got you,” he murmurs against my lips, and I believe him. The man thinks he sucks at taking care of people but he doesn’t see himself the way I see him, the way Tristan and Lexi see him. The way he is with my son. He doesn’t see the way he defended my honor by beating up Isaac. The way he paid attention to my wants and needs when he said his vows.

“Mila, baby. Let go.” Tears spring from my eyes at his words. I was married for years and never felt as close to him as I feel to Mason right now. He length gets harder, his thrusts quicken. My orgasm dangles over the precipice. Something deep inside of me tightening

“Let go,” he says again, and this time I do. My body relaxes, and my climax hits me full force, pushing me over the edge. It’s stronger than the others. My vaginal walls contract as Mason pushes himself deeper into me. His cock thickens inside me, and then he’s coming. He stills, his lips never leaving mine. I can feel his shaft softening inside me as we both come down from our orgasmic bliss.

When his lips leave mine, he looks into my eyes. “I’m going to do everything in my power not to fuck this all up, but I don’t know if that’s possible. What I need you to know is that what happened last night and just now…it has nothing to do with what I said all those years ago and everything to do with the fact that you make me feel something I’ve never felt before. You make me want to be better than my father, better than my mother. You make me want to try.”

  Chapter Eighteen

  Mason

We get home from Vegas, and Mila stops in front of the stairs. “Okay, I guess I’ll see you later?”

I think it’s a statement, but it comes across as more of a question.

“Okay…I’m going to go put my clothes away.”

I start to head up the stairs but stop when I hear her speak. “Put them away in your room?”

“Um…yeah, I think so…maybe?” I’m not sure why, but I feel like there’s no right answer here.

“You’re not sure?” she asks, her brows furrowed in confusion.

“Is there somewhere else I should put them?” I question. Why is she acting so strange?

  She sighs. “Never mind.”

“Wait! Never mind, what? Should I throw them in the washer?” She’s never cared before when I do my laundry…

“Never mind,” she repeats. “I need to go put my clothes away as well… in my room.” She drags her luggage down the hallway, ending the conversation and leaving me wondering what the hell just happened as I bring my luggage upstairs to my room.

The entire four-hour drive, we didn’t have a single moment of awkwardness. We talked and laughed the entire way back. We stopped for lunch at a small Mexican restaurant and split fajitas. I learned we both love shrimp and steak and hate chicken. We talked about an upcoming UFC Fight Night, which is taking place two weeks from now, and decided to make a weekend out of it with Alec. So, I’m not sure why the moment we stepped through the door, everything got weird.

As I’m unloading my clothes into the hamper, I hear the doorbell ring. When I hear Alec’s voice, I run downstairs to join Mila. It’s been four days since I’ve seen the kid, and I have to admit I’m missing him.

“Mason!” Alec yells from the living room, already lounged out on the couch, ready to watch some television.

He jumps up and high-fives me. “What’s up, Bruiser!” I ruffle his hair.

“Nothing. Want to play the PlayStation with me?”

“Well, that’s great!” I hear Mila say, sounding upset. Shit! Did I already fuck up? I knew I should’ve thrown my clothes in the washer.

“Sure,” I answer Alec. “Just let me check on your mom first.”

I walk into the foyer to find she’s not talking to herself, but to her ex-husband. Before I can back away and leave them to continue their conversation, Gavin spots me over Mila’s shoulder.

  “Hey, Mason. How’s it going?”

Not wanting to be rude, I shake his hand. “Pretty good, man. Sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt. I thought Mila was annoyed with something I did.”

Gavin chuckles. “Nah, she’s annoyed with me.” He shrugs. “But the great thing about her being annoyed with me now that we’re divorced is that I get to go home instead of being stuck sleeping on the couch.” He laughs at his joke, and Mila growls. Like, legit growls at him, and that has me laughing. She’s such a feisty little thing.

“Um…she is standing right here.” She waves her hand in the air to get our attention and that’s when Gavin zeroes in on her wedding band.

“Oh shit! Did you get married?” Mila lowers her hand and begins to fidget. “I didn’t even know you were dating anyone. Who’s the guy I should congratulate?”

“That would be me.” I wave my hand in the air to show off my matching ring.

“You were dating him?” Gavin asks.

  “No…” she says slowly.

“I’m confused.” He looks from me to Mila, puzzled.

“It’s not really your business now, is it?” Mila barks.

“Well, it kind of is. I mean, Alec does live with you guys. I thought Mason was living here until you found a female roommate.”

“Well, you don’t have to worry about it because nothing is changing. Mason’s still sleeping in his room, and I’m sleeping in mine.” Oh damn. Now the clothes conversation makes sense. Fuck! I’m already sucking at this, but she should have just told me. I just thought she was pissed I wasn’t washing my dirty laundry right away.

“And we’re not staying married. Right, Mason?” She keeps talking without waiting for my answer. “And if I’m honest, you’re partially to blame.”

Gavin’s eyes bug out, and he looks like he’s ready to bolt. “I’m to blame? How?” His eyes dart to mine, almost like he’s begging me to help. Oh, hell no, buddy. I’m new to this shit.

“You set me up with Jack!”

“I’m pretty sure you married Mason, not Jack,” Gavin points out.

‘Why are you arguing with her?’ I want to yell at him, but I keep my mouth shut.

“I know! But I had gone five damn years without dating, and then you just had to go and give Jack my number. It’s what got the ball rolling. The first domino being knocked over! And then all the rest tumbled down after. It led me to go on a date with that uptight jerk, Evan, which led me to go on a date with Isaac!”

“Who the hell are Evan and Isaac?” Gavi
n throws his hands up in the air.

“Evan is an uptight single dad and Isaac the fighter who left me on the side of the road because I wouldn’t have sex with him! And you know why I wouldn’t have sex with him?” She points her cute little finger at Gavin. “Because I told myself I wasn’t going to settle! The next man I was going to be with was going to be in love with me and want me.” Oh shit… ‘Please don’t respond,’ I silently beg Gavin… but he doesn’t listen.

“I did love you and want you!” Oh boy.

“No, you didn’t! You loved your job and your stupid video games, and you loved yourself! You didn’t love me. You didn’t want me!”

“We were young. I loved you but we weren’t in love. You know that. You said it yourself, we’re better as friends.”

“It’s still your fault! Everything is your fault!” I hear her voice waver and something tells me she’s not really blaming Gavin but taking it out on him because she’s too afraid to talk to me.

“Mila…” Gavin says her name slowly like he’s approaching a lioness.

“No! Don’t you ‘Mila’ me. I was just fine.” She swipes the tears from her eyes. “I was working and raising our son, and I was totally okay with not having sex for the last five years, and then you just had to go and introduce me to Jack! So, it’s all your fault. But don’t worry because it was a drunken mistake and we’ll be divorced before anybody even notices. Right, Mason?”

Gavin looks stunned and scared and I totally feel him. When Mila doesn’t continue talking, I realize she’s waiting for me to answer her this time. Fabulous…

“I tried to convince her to play crazy to get the annulment but she wasn’t having it; however, after that speech, I might be able to give it a try.”
