To the Moon and Back Page 19

by Becca Van

Each time she rose up, keeping the head of his cock in her tight entrance and then slamming back down again, the blaze burning inside of him built hotter and higher. He let her control their loving until he the heated tingles formed at the base of his spine.

When he couldn’t take anymore, he surged up, embraced her in his arms, and rolled until she was pinned beneath him. She grasped his biceps, dug her nails into his flesh, and held on as he began to drill his dick in and out of her hot cunt.

She undulated under him, rocking her hips in sync with his, bowing her pelvis up toward his as he drove into her harder and faster.

The flames in his lower back spread out and traveled toward his groin, and he was sure he could feel his seed accumulating in his balls. His testes felt heavy as they hardened and the fire licked at the underside of his balls. When the burning heat touched the base of his dick, Dirk knew it was nearly all over.

He moved up onto his knees, hooked her legs over his arms, lifted her ass from the bed and hammered his cock in and out of her pussy. She writhed under him, her nails leaving indents in his skin as she clung to him and she rolled her head on the pillow.

Dirk reached down between them, gathered some of cream on his finger, then he rubbed her clit.

Three, four, five firm circles over her sensitive nub and she stopped breathing. Her lips parted, she sucked in a breath of air and screamed. “Dirk!”

He growled and groaned as he glided his dick into and out of her pussy like a man possessed, and on the sixth stroke he spun out of control. “Jodi!” he shouted as he reached his peak. His cock palpitated as cum spewed up from his balls, along his shaft and out of the tip. Her cunt muscles spasmed and convulsed around him, sucking his jizz from his body until he felt as if his balls had turned inside out and he had nothing left to give.

Elation surged into his heart, enveloped his soul, then reached out to enfold the woman beneath him. Tears of joy stung his eyes but he forced them back and opened his eyes, which he hadn’t noticed he’d closed. He studied her beauty as he tried to get his breath back. Her head was still tipped back, her eyes were closed, and her cheeks were flushed. Her lips were red and swollen as were her nipples from his loving attention. Strands of hair clung to her damp cheeks and then she opened her eyes. Her gaze was still hazed over with lingering passion but it was the love in those stunning blue eyes that caused his heart to skip a beat.

Bracing his upper body weight on his elbows, he bent toward her and she closed her eyes again. Dirk kissed her softly on the forehead, on each eye, the tip of her nose, both of her cheeks and finally her lips. The arms she had around his neck tightened and she kissed him back. She sighed when he lifted his mouth from hers and caressed over his shoulders.

  “I love you, Dirk Kyson.”

Once more moisture welled in his eyes but this time he did nothing to hide his tears. He swallowed, once, twice, around the emotional restriction in his throat and finally managed to reply. “I love you, Jodi Regan.”

  Chapter Nineteen

“Come on you beautiful bitch, do something to make it easy for me.”

Yesterday had been boring as he’d sat in his stolen car with a different set of number plates on the vehicle so he wouldn’t draw any attention from the cops in town. Even though he’d spent hours on end just sitting and watching, it had been time well spent. He’d observed the occupant of the rental house as she’d gone about her day just waiting for his chance to make a move, and though that hadn’t happened, he now had an inkling of her schedule.

She’d arrived at the shop before the other owner and had been so busy setting things up she’d been oblivious to his eyes on her. The shop had a rear access, which would make things simpler for him, but now all he needed was the opportunity. Once he got to her, he’d knock her out, tie her up, and hightail it back to her house where there was no chance of anyone hearing her screams as he beat the information out of her. His life was on the line, and if he didn’t get what he came for, he’d be dead. It was Tuesday, and he had just over twenty-four hours to get his boss’s stuff and return it.

There was no one about in the quiet street behind the store since most the busiest businesses were on the opposite side of the thoroughfare. He’d taken his time while working to reconnoiter and again yesterday to scope things out just to make sure he wouldn’t been seen or caught when he decided it was time to move.

If only her cop boyfriends would leave already and head to work. His cock hardened as she watched the slut kiss one man after the other, and though he’d never understood how a man could share his woman with his brothers or someone else, he had the urge to fuck her. She was a beautiful, sexy woman and though he’d never had the urge to rape anyone before, he was tempted. However, the most important chore was getting her to tell him where she’d hidden the packages and if she’d found and used any of the money.

He shifted in his seat trying to relieve the ache in his dick then glanced in his side mirrors. A smile graced his lips when he realized how pissed the Kyson deputies were going to be if they ever discovered who he was. Hopefully, he’d be long gone if they ever did.

Since he wasn’t sitting up in the car so any asshole could see him and he was slumped down with his eyes barely above the level of the windowsill so he wasn’t calling attention to himself, he was getting a crick in his neck. He wanted the rub the ache, but any movement on his behalf might draw eyes his way.

Another glance at his wristwatch to check the time, he turned his gaze back to the shop, which thankfully had a full length glass window on the back side of the building allowing him to see the goings on inside. His heartbeat sped up when he saw the deputies walking toward the door on their way out. The oldest of the Kyson brothers closed the store door behind him then pointed to it. The cunt nodded and then locked it. After waving her fuck buddies goodbye, she moved to the room at the back of the shop and out of his sight.

He rubbed his hands together and after making sure the coast was clear, opened his car door and got out. The ballcap and dark glasses would hopefully be enough to disguise him if anyone came by, but he was praying that for once, luck was on his side.

Moving to the passenger side of the car, he opened the back door slightly to make it easier on him once he had the slut. He’d already stuffed his jacket pockets with duct tape to tether her up. He was also carrying his lock pick tools set in his jeans pocket, and from what he’d ascertained, getting the back door to the building open was virtual child’s play. Now he just hoped the woman’s business partner didn’t get to work earlier than she had yesterday.

If she did, he was screwed.

Jodi entered the back room and got to work as soon as her men left. She donned food hygiene gloves and started cutting up some reels of cheese to put in the display case. She was so happy and in love, she was humming and smiling, and though her cheeks were aching, she couldn’t seem to care.

A shiver skated its way up her back and goose bumps erupted over her skin as trepidation took hold, but after a quick glance about she snorted at herself and her overactive imagination. After everything that had happened she wasn’t really shocked that she’d become a bit paranoid. Spying the portable radio on the table she and Talia used to have their meal breaks, she hurried over to it and, after removing one of the gloves, she turned it on and cranked up the volume. Listening to music was soothing and sometimes even mood changing, though she didn’t need the latter, she was feeling a bit nervous and certainly needed the former.

She sang along to the latest country song as she prepared for the day ahead and her anxiety began to ease. Though she’d finished cutting and arranging the cheese boards and the presentation, she still needed to get the gourmet meats and arrange them in a pleasing display. Even though their shop was all about food, presentation of the items went a long way into helping to sell the product. She carried the cheeses out to the chilled display case and arranged them before walking back to the back room.

p; After retrieving several rolls of salami and other spicy cold meats from the industrial sized fridge, she prepared to cut them. There was a huge butcher’s block across from the small dining table and chairs on the far side, which she and Talia used to slice and cut on. At the end of the day, the inset chopping board was cleaned and scrubbed with eco and food friendly cleaning products so that they could use it first thing the next morning and didn’t have to worry about germs or making any of their customers sick.

One song changed to another, and she sang along under her breath as she concentrated on using the industrial grade stainless steel meat slicer without losing a finger. The first time she’d used the machine she’d been a bit scared, but Talia had showed her there was nothing to be frightened of as long as she used it correctly. Just as she finished slicing up one roll of salami and she was reaching for another, pain exploded into the back of her head and she cried out. Her knees buckled, and though she tried to stop herself from falling by reaching for the edge of the butcher’s block, she missed. Darkness was quickly enveloping her, and no matter how hard she tried to stave it off, she lost the battle as the blackness sucked her under.

He chuckled as he lifted the bitch from the floor and slung her over his shoulder. Getting into the back of the shop had been easy. Now all he needed to do was get her out to the car without being seen.

He’d waited for fifteen minutes after the deputies had left before making his move. He’d been concerned that she’d sense his presence or hear him coming for her, but she’d made things easy for him since she’d had the radio on with the volume up loudly so she could hear the music over the noisy cutting machine she’d been using.

He hadn’t even bothered to sneak up behind her and had simply walked toward her as he’d pulled his gun from the small of his back and the waistband of his jeans before clocking her on the head hard enough to knock her out.

Opening the back door wider, he peered out, searching the street for any movement or people about. The street was empty and he rushed out the back door toward his stolen car, dumped her on the seat, and after checking the coast was still clear, he wrapped the tape around her ankles and wrists, and slapped a strip over her mouth.

Moments later, he was in the driver’s seat and driving away from the scene of the crime.

“I see you’re here early again,” Talia called out as she entered the front door of the shop, glancing at the artfully arranged cheese platters with fruit decorations strategically placed.

She smiled, hurried toward the back room where music was blaring loudly, and frowned when she didn’t see Jodi anywhere. There was sliced platters of salami off to the side of the butcher’s block, but when she saw the back door was slightly ajar, she figured her friend must have taken a bag of trash out to the dumpster. After storing her purse and donning an apron over her clean clothes, she walked to the back door and looked out.

There was no sign of Jodi, and though that was strange, she wondered if her friend had gone to use the rest room. However, if that was the case, why had she left the door open?

Stepping back inside, closing and locking the door behind her, she turned the radio down, walked to the small powder room and knocking on the door trying to listen. Her concern grew when Jodi didn’t answer and she wondered if her business partner was sick. “Jodi, are you in there? Are you okay, girlfriend?”

The hair on her body stood on end when she didn’t get a reply and she opened the door. Her heart flipped in her chest when she noted the tiny room was empty.

Talia spun on her heals, raced through the shop, unlocked the front door and stepped out onto the footpath. A shudder wracked her body as she dug into the pocket of her black work pants and pulled her cell phone out. Her first instinct was to call her own men, but when she remembered that Jodi had given her the Kyson brothers’ numbers, she brought up her contact list and pressed the button to call Dirk since he was the first name on the alphabetical list.

She had a really bad feeling about this. Had someone broken into the shop to steal their takings from yesterday? She couldn’t remember if the safe had been opened or not, but either way it didn’t matter. All that mattered was that they find Jodi and get her back safe and sound.

Dirk felt his cell phone vibrate in his pocket, but since he, the other deputies on duty, and the two sheriffs were in a meeting discussing some of the cases they were working on he ignored it. He’d call the person back as soon as he was free. The phone stopped, but when it started vibrating again right away, he frowned. Knowing he was being rude, he tugged his phone from his pocket, frowning when he didn’t recognize the number. The call was disconnected and he was about to put his phone away again when a text message came in.

The first line caught his attention, and he swiped his finger over the screen to activate it and read.

Dirk, it’s Talia. You need to call me right away. Jodi is missing.

“What the fuck?” Dirk surged to his feet.

“What’s wrong?” Luke frowned at him.

“We need to get to our woman’s shop.” He met each of his brothers’ gazes. “I just got a text from Talia saying Jodi’s missing.”

“Go,” Luke said. “We’ll be there as soon as we can.”

Dirk nodded his thanks before hurrying from the office, down the hall, and rushing toward the front doors to the Slick Rock Sheriff’s Department. Walt and Emmet were right behind him.

Walt jumped into the driver’s seat of the patrol car and Dirk got into the passenger seat. Emmet got into the vehicle he sometimes shared with Giff and they were off.

Dirk’s heart clenched when he spotted Talia on the sidewalk with her arms wrapped around her waist, looking scared and worried. He was out of the vehicle before Walt had even come to a complete stop.

“When did you last see Jodi?”

Talia shook her head. “The shop was empty when I got here. The back door was ajar, and at first I thought Jodi must be taking some rubbish outside. I looked out and but she wasn’t there. She’s not anywhere.” She covered her mouth when a sob burst from her mouth and tears rolled down her cheeks.

“Go and sit in the car,” Walt said, pointing toward their vehicle. “Lock the doors and sit tight.”

Dirk unholstered his gun, opened the door to the shop, and stepped quietly into the store. His ears perked up when he heard soft music playing in the background, but he tuned that out and listened for any other noise out of place.

He gazed about, looking to make sure there was no place a petite woman could hide as he crept toward the back room. Emmet and Walt were at his back. He walked quietly through the storage room scanning the place with his eyes but there was no one here. He could even see into the small restroom. When he noticed the plate of meat on the counter, he moved closer. He sucked in a deep breath and tried to get the charge of fear and anxiety under control when he saw a spot of something dark on the floor near the toe of his boot.

Crouching down after pulling on a glove, he dipped his finger in the drop of fluid. “We’ve got fucking blood,” he said hoarsely.

“What?” Emmet asked through clenched teeth as he and Walt hurried over to him.

“Fuck!” Walt ran his fingers through his hair. “She’s been fucking kidnapped and we have no idea where or who to even start looking for.”

“There’s more blood on the edge of the counter,” Emmet pointed.

Dirk’s heart thundered so hard and fast he was sure it was going to burst from his chest. He didn’t even notice he was panting until Walt grasped his shoulder and squeezed. “Hold it together, Dirk. You can’t fall apart now. We need you in control so we can piece this shit together and find our woman.”

Dirk swallowed, sucked in a breath, held it in his lungs, then released it. His brother was right. He couldn’t let his fear take hold because he’d likely fuck up and get someone killed.

Jodi needed him and his brothers to think logically so
they could save her.

  * * * *

Jodi’s groan as she become conscious was muffled by something over her mouth. Her head was throbbing up a storm, and she felt sick to her stomach. Something warm and wet tickled the back of her scalp and it took her a couple of minutes to realize it was blood. The back of her head was hot, burning, and she thought that her head might have been split open. Her forehead near her hairline was also aching and bleeding. She frowned as she tried to recall what had happened, but her mind was too fuzzy to latch onto any one thing.

There was a low droning noise, and it felt as if it took her forever to work out what she was hearing was the sound of car tires on a road. When she tried to move her arms to sit up and they wouldn’t budge, and it took her a couple of moments to gather that she was tied up.

Forcing her heavy eyelids up, she quickly slammed them shut when bright sunlight stabbed into her retinas, causing her head to pound more and her stomach to roil.

Concentrating on inhaling deeply through her nose before exhaling a few times helped her to gain control over the sick feeling. She couldn’t throw up if she had to because if she did, she’d probably choke on her own vomit.

When the hammering in her head dulled down to a manageable level, she opened her eyes again and gazed about. The man in the front seat of the car was familiar somehow, but she couldn’t remember where she’d seen him before. He had a cap pulled down low on his head and a pair of sunglasses covering his eyes.

Pulling her eyes from his profile, she looked on the floor hoping to find a weapon even if she couldn’t use it since her hands were taped behind her back, but there was nothing. Tears blurred her vision but she blinked them away. The last thing she needed was to start crying and end up with a snotty nose, which would make it even harder for her to breathe.

Jodi rested her cheek onto the fabric seat, closed her eyes, and thought about her men. Walt, Dirk, and Emmet were the loves of her life and now she wasn’t sure she’d ever get to see them again.
