Lucky Between the Sheets: An Anthology of Stories that Get to the Point Page 9

by L. A. Boruff

“Shit,” he whispers, and I can tell by the way he groans that it’s just hitting him that any kid we had would be just as enslaved as we are. He’s quiet for a few minutes.

I start to feel hollow inside. This is something I want more than anything, and I can’t have it. No way. No how. I’d never bring a child into this shit-show of a life.

“I could kill him,” he suggests, his tone determined.

“I would go straight back to hell,” I tell him gently. “That’s what happens if my Master dies. I wouldn’t come back until I had a new Master, and who the hell knows how bad the new one would be, or where I’d even end up. It would be the end of us, Dean.”

He sighs out his frustration. “There has to be a way.”

  “There isn’t.”

“Maybe I can trick him into a game of poker to win the charm.”

  “He never loses.”

“Your luck has rubbed off on me, hasn’t it?”

I smile half-heartedly. My lovers retain a little good luck at all times. It’s just how it is when you love a Djinn of Fortune. It’s not enough to make them the luckiest men on earth. No matter what they seem to think.

“Not enough to make you capable of winning against my Master.” Or yours, I think, but never say. Bronson has a hold on his vampires. He exerts enough control to be capable of telling them to walk out into the sunlight and stand there until they’re dust and they would do it. They might not be happy about it, but they can’t avoid direct orders.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, my men don’t like to be reminded of that fact.

“You can’t go up against him,” I say, before our conversation can get any darker. “And we shouldn’t be talking about this at all.”

He frowns, but he knows I’m right. Bronson could look into his head at any time, pick out these contentious thoughts, and punish him for them.

“Promise me you’re not going to do anything crazy.” I don’t know what I would do if anything happened to him. I know my heart would start to break, and I don’t want to know what that feels like. It’s hard enough getting used to the warm fuzzies it’s been giving me for my guys.

He sighs again, but this time he nods. “I won’t do anything crazy.”

  * * *

I shower while I wait for the Irishman to wake up. Dean had to get back to work and I need to be ready for Bronson when he calls for me. He’ll be sleeping now, but the moment he awakens, he’ll demand my attention.

Finn is sitting on the edge of the bed when I come back into the bedroom wrapped in a towel.

I take out the clasps that were holding my hair up and keeping it dry and it tumbles down over my shoulders. I can feel his gaze on me as I shake it out.

His stare is just as heated as it was last night.

“Well that’s a turn up fer the books,” he murmurs. “I wasn’t sure if I dreamt ye up or somethin’.”

“Oh, I’m real,” I assure him, dropping the towel to confirm it.

His gaze drops, and part of the sheet that’s barely covering his groin twitches upward.

I should be completely sated by now. Two men in one day isn’t new for me. I don’t know what it is that’s making me so desperate for his touch. He’s human. Dean’s words sink in deeper as I take a step toward Finn. I crave the heat of his touch, the warmth of his tongue in my mouth.

“Damn. Give us a minute would ye,” he says, getting up and moving into the bathroom.

I check my reflection in the mirrored wardrobes as I wait for his return. My face is flushed, my eyes darkened by desire. The nipples on my perky little breasts are fully aroused. I part my legs and move one hand between them. When I bring my hand back it’s glistening with moisture.

Finn comes back into the room as I’m slipping my fingers back over the swell of my clit. I moan as he comes toward me.

“Don’t stop on my account,” he tells me as my gaze locks with his.

I slip my fingers into my opening and get them nice and wet before I stroke back over that sensitive, swollen mound of flesh. I watch him pump his engorged cock slowly in one hand as he stares intently at me.

“I want you inside me,” I whisper.

“Come fer me, first,” he tells me, moving around to stand behind me and watch in the mirror.

I feel his erection against my ass while he moves in close and runs his tattooed hands over my breasts. His warm flesh against mine feels so good, so right. I gasp as his fingers tease the hardened points of my nipples. Sparks of pleasure run through my body as my fingers slicken and I come close to hitting my climax.

“Yer bloody gorgeous, woman,” he murmurs, lips brushing against my earlobe.

I moan out my ecstasy as he holds me close, his cock throbbing at my back.

He picks me up and lays me down on the edge of the bed, parting my legs. I gaze down at his hungry eyes as he moves in to run his tongue through my folds. His eyes close and he moans against me. His kiss is wild as he tastes me. He loves this. I raise my hand to my lips and slick my tongue over the fingers I used to bring myself to orgasm. He moans louder and I look down to see his eyes are open and staring. I suck on two wet fingers slowly, letting him see how much I’d enjoy doing to him what he’s doing to me. He slicks his tongue over my clit as he watches, making me gasp around my fingers. A second later, he’s moving up to fill my aching pussy with his eager cock. I remove my hand from my mouth and he takes it in his instead, making me shake as he shows me how much he’s enjoying every little bit of this.

“Tell us what ye want,” he says, as he pins my hands down and pushes into me harder.

What I want? I want this man to fuck me into oblivion. To fill me with his seed so many times my body can’t fight it another second. I want him to make me his, and to make me pregnant. Fucking hell. Where is this coming from? I don’t know, but I can’t seem to make it go away.

“You,” is all I say. “I want you, Finn.”

Over and over and over again.

He smiles as he gives me what I want.

  * * *

Finn tells me he needs to go, and I expect that to be the end of this. I can’t see him again anyway. I know that now. Being around him is only amplifying these new desires of mine, desires I have no right in having. I’ll never be a mother. I shouldn’t want to be.

He kisses me long and hard. I’m going to remember him forever. Maybe there’s some dimension out there where we get to be together in the end and raise kids. That’s never going to be my life here.

He leaves and I end up sitting in my lounge, staring at a blank TV screen. Waiting to be called on by my Master. I’m almost in a trance by the time Damon comes for his real visit. He walks in on me sitting there in a green T-shirt and panties, hugging a cushion.

  “Are you okay?”

I blink at him. “Damon! How did you get in?”

He raises an eyebrow at me. “You left your door open.”

“I did?” That seems like a weird thing for me to have done, but I guess I’d been kind of in a daze since Finn left.

“Dean told me you were talking about having kids.”

“He told you that?” I seriously doubted it. I might not mind them talking about me, but Dean was very private. Which kind of sucked for him considering his vampire ‘brothers’ could easily tap into what he was thinking at any given moment. Nothing could truly be hidden between them.

He shrugs and sits down next to me. “You know what I mean. It was all he could think about.”

“I’m just going through some weird stuff. I’ll snap out of it.”

“You were attracted to the human for a reason.” Damon always seems to cut straight to the point.

“Human or not, I can’t conceive.” I don’t know why that makes me want to cry right now when I spent centuries never giving it a second thought.

“There are ways,” he starts to tell me.

I open my mouth to protest and he shakes his head.

“I know. Not now. Not the way things are, but s
omeday, Maeve. We can plan it out. We can think about what you’ll need.”

I push the cushion to the ground and slide into his lap. He gives me a lopsided smile as I unbuckle his belt. “This is why I love you.”

The words come out in a rush, and I’m pulling his cock out of his jeans and impaling myself on it before I even realize what I just told him. His gaze is steady as he grasps my ass to still my motion for a second. “You love me?”

I should laugh it off, say no. Don’t be stupid. I’m a thousand years old. I’ve evolved past crazy human notions. Anything to deny how I’m feeling right now. Instead, I nod slowly. “I love you, Damon.”

He kisses me, and when he stares at me again, his eyes have darkened that tiny little extra bit that means he’s vamped out. “I love you too.”

“You mean you love my blood,” I tease him, brushing my hair back from my neck to expose the flesh covering his favorite vein.

He closes his eyes and shakes it off. When his deep, dark brown eyes meet mine again he’s his usual serious, brooding self. “No. You’re everything to me. You and Dean both.”

I heat at his mention of Dean. Our days spent together as a threesome have been some of the best out of all my lives. “You’re everything to me too.”

“Not quite,” he tells me. “If you’re going to have a child someday, you’ll need a mortal man too. I just wish you hadn’t picked one your Master has a problem with.”

“Do you have a problem with him?” Not that it mattered. Finn hadn’t expressed any interest in seeing me again. Hadn’t even hinted that he knows where to find me. It was kind of depressing to say the least.

“As long as he doesn’t treat you badly, I’m fine with him.”

He starts to rock me on his shaft. I feel a little raw from all the attention I’ve been getting lately and he feels even bigger than usual because of that.

He tugs at my T-shirt and I remove it. He murmurs his appreciation as he rocks into me. His gaze falls to my breast and darkens. He can always tell where Dean last bit me, even if the wound has fully healed. He can never seem to stop himself from following Dean’s lead.

“Bite me,” I plead with him, wanting it badly. The high will send me over an edge that might be hard to reach otherwise. I’m too raw for it not to hurt a little to come on his thick cock.

He pulls me up a little and latches on to my breast, flicking his tongue over my nipple as he sinks his fangs into my flesh. He retracts them and moves back, letting the blood flow a little before slowly lapping it up from my skin with his cool, wet tongue. I’m shivery as the high kicks in, my blood still flowing over my breast as he takes his time to savor it with quick slashes of his hungry tongue.

We’re fucking slowly now, and I’m feeling a little light-headed. He pulls me in close to seal the wound, then takes his time to clean every last drop of blood from my chest.

“You’re such a messy eater,” I tell him, not really minding.

Something about seeing what he’s drinking really does it for him. It’s just his kink. Dean is all about control and measured precision. Damon is kind of reckless deep down.

“Taste less delicious and maybe I’ll grow some manners.”

I shake my head at him, starting to move my hips to match his shallow thrusts and force him deeper inside of me. I groan as he rubs against the spot that will make me come.

“Tell me what you did with the human,” he demands, suddenly, as I ride him harder.

“He licked me out,” I start, watching Damon’s face. “Then I rode him until he came inside me.”

  “He made you come?”

  I nod. “Twice, last night.”

  “What about this morning?”

“This morning he had me touch myself, and then he fucked me nice and hard.”

The look on Damon’s face, the pure lust in his eyes pushes me over the edge. I come on his dick, moaning out his name as my pussy contracts around his shaft.

He’s close too, but we don’t get the chance to finish. The room slips away and I’m left kneeling before my Master, on the floor of his office in nothing more than my panties. I’ve been summoned.

  * * *

Bronson stares at me, his gaze cool. He’s never been moved by beauty in any form. Amassing wealth seems to be the only thing that drives him. I bow my head as I get to my feet, trying not to make it obvious I’m moving my long hair to cover my naked breasts.

“How can I serve you, Master?”

“You can tell me why that Irish hustler still lives.”

I don’t know why he insists on treating me like his vampires. He can’t read my mind, and I’m not obliged to be honest to him. All he can really ask from me is to be gifted by the one ability I do have.

“Your men must not have beaten him hard enough.”

He frowns at me. “What was he?”

Now I understand. He thinks Finn is a supernatural being. That his good luck the night before was unnatural. Of course he would think that. He has no real talent to speak of. He doesn’t understand what natural abilities look like.

  “He was entirely human.”

  “You’re quite sure?”

  “Yes.”

He’s silent for a few long moments, staring through me as I await further instruction. It’s like standing below a guillotine, waiting to find out if the blade’s going to fall. I’ve been punished physically by him before, by other Masters too. They tend to stop once they realize I’m human enough to take forever to heal even if I am immortal. That can mean losing out on what they desire while they wait. Usually they decide it’s not worth the hassle. The way Bronson looks right now, I wouldn’t be surprised if this turned out to be one of those moments when he’s too angry to care about the consequences of his actions.

“Very well. Come here and bestow your luck on me, My Lady.”

I move quickly to stand behind him, his words rushing through my head. He didn’t specify which kind of luck. True, he’d soon know it if I bestowed the unfortunate kind on him, but maybe if it felled him it would be too late for him to attempt to punish me. I hesitate before making my choice.

He sends me away once I’ve given him a heavy dose. I’m expected to walk from his office on the ground floor through the casino and up to my room, wearing a green lacy pair of panties and smile. I’m grateful for my choice of hairstyle which offers me a little more modesty but I feel a little odd walking past the handful of people who are playing slots and heading toward the breakfast bar. It’s not the done thing in modern times to walk around virtually naked in public.

I get a few wolf-whistles and I overhear one guy asking which show I just came out of, but I make it back to my room without being harassed physically. It’s only then that I collapse.

What the hell have I done? A pinch of bad luck isn’t instantly obvious. It can take a while to kick in. What I gave Bronson will become entirely blatant very quickly.

Damon rushes to my side as I start to dry-heave on my hands and knees on the carpet.

  “Maeve, what happened?”

I get my heaving under control as he helps me to my feet. My legs are shaking under me. I look him in the eyes.

“I did something very bad. You have to find Finn, bring him back here. Quickly. He’s the only one who can help now.”

  * * *

Dean watches me dress, his expression tight. Damon filled him in before he left to find the Irishman, ready to use his super sense of smell to track him down for me.

“I don’t like this,” Dean tells me, for maybe the tenth time in half an hour.

I nod. “I don’t either, but it is what it is.”

If Bronson worked out what I had done before Finn returned, this plan had no chance. He usually spent the first hour or so of work in his office, moving money around online or counting what he had in the safe. That was the only thing that gave us time right now. As soon as he realized I’d given him bad luck instead of good, he would summon me and force me to correct the problem.
/>   I’d lose my one shot and I’d lose what little trust he had in me. I’d be lucky if he didn’t keep me chained up in a closet afterwards. This risk I was taking was huge, but the reward was potentially massive.

  “What if...”

I put my hand over his mouth and shake my head. “No. No what ifs, Dean. I can’t. I just can’t.”

He frowns at me, a storm of emotion in his golden eyes. I can’t believe this might be the last time I ever see him. I can’t let this happen without at least telling him how I feel. I wrap my arms around his neck.

“I love you, Dean,” I tell him, watching his expression soften. “I had to take this chance. Things have been coming to a head for a while now and I couldn’t go on the same way any longer. I know the risk is great, but the reward is greater.”

He sighs softly and hugs me in close. “I would walk through hell for you, Maeve.”

He doesn’t say more, but I hear the ‘but I hope it doesn’t come to that’ in his voice. He’s afraid. We all are. But I knew when Damon and Dean both accepted Finn so easily that everything was clicking into place for us. Finn was the missing puzzle piece, the part that finally made the picture clearer.

If I was ever going to take this chance, it had to be now. I just hope to hell I’m not wrong.

  * * *

“He came back on his own,” Damon tells us, as we walk quickly to the elevator.

“What do you mean he came back on his own?” I don’t understand. Damon came back so quickly after he left, but when I’d asked if he found Finn he’d nodded.

“He was outside, pacing around. I crashed right into him.”

“What did you say to get him inside?”

“I told him he had to go challenge Bronson for his money. That his luck would be in if he did.”

I curse under my breath. I should have gone with him. I could have given Finn good luck to help him avoid incurring Bronson’s wrath on meeting with him again. “Did you lead him to his office?”

He nods as we step into the elevator and Dean hits the button for the ground floor.
