Pearl
"Damn you, Hunter!" I burst out between clenched teeth. The pain had reached a new level. Hunter, standing by my side holding my hand, looked pale and guilty. Served him right! Had he put me in this damn situation!
"Don't complain, Pearl. Breathe!" Jessie said in a commanding tone. "With the next contraction you can start to push."
"Fuck!" I cursed quietly. "Breathe! Breathe! Fuck you, Jessie. Who’s the one in pain? You or me? We'll talk when your time comes!"
"Okay! When it’s my turn, you can pay me back for everything, but now you’re listening to my instructions!"
I put my head back. The pain had subsided. Thank God for the little things! Even though I knew that the pain would surely come back soon. I didn't even want to think about how much it will hurt when the baby was coming out of me. Why didn't the guys get to have babies? That was so unfair! They had their fun and nine months later, or, in this case eight months later, us women had to figure it all out.
As if you didn’t have any fun, my inner voice reminded me.
"It’ll be over soon, Pearl", said Dr. George, patting my arm.
"Can't you give her something for the pain?" Hunter asked anxiously. "I don’t want to risk it. We don't know how the baby will react. I know that Alien Breed women don't tolerate any drugs during childbirth. Or rather, the babies don't tolerate it. Since half of this baby is an Alien Breed, I think it's too dangerous."
I felt a new contraction and man, this time it was a particularly violent one. I groaned.
"It's happening agaaaaaain!"
"Okay," Jessie said calmly. "I want you to push a little now. Come on!"
I did my best. I squeezed Hunter's hand so hard that I was sure that any normal man would have ended with a broken hand. But Hunter didn't make a sound.
"Fuuuuuuuck!" I shouted as I pushed.
"Okay! That's good! Relax, relax. Next time you can push as hard as you can."
Fifteen minutes and many liters of sweat and tears later, our little girl was born. Hunter, my big, muscular Alpha male actually shed a few tears when he was holding his daughter in his arms for the first time. He looked at me with damp eyes.
"She's beautiful" he whispered.
I nodded with a smile. The pain was forgotten. My husband was generously forgiven. If he was able to give me something so beautiful, it was worth a little pain and tears!
"And what will she be called?" asked Jessie.
"Joy", Hunter said without hesitation. He looked at me and I nodded. Yes, Joy was a good name. No name could better describe the feeling I had felt when I first looked at her.
"A beautiful name", said Dr. George. "I'll go announce the good news."
The doctor left the room and Jessie took Joy with her to bathe her. Hunter sat down on the bed with me and pulled me into his arms.
"I love you, Pearl", he said raw. "Forgive me all the pain you had to go through. If you want, then ... then I can talk to Dr. George if he can sterilize me. Then ..."
I couldn't stop laughing and Hunter looked at me confused.
"Sorry", I said giggling. "The hormones!"
When I calmed down I looked firmly into Hunter's beautiful cat eyes.
"I want at least one more little Hunter", I said. "Forget what I said earlier. I have heard that many women curse their husbands during birth. That’s pretty normal. - And already forgotten about!"
Hunter breathed a sigh of relief.
Jessie returned with the freshly bathed Joy and put her in my arms. I pushed up my T-shirt and put her up to my breast. After a few attempts Joy found my nipple and sucked so hard that I laughed in shock.
"She will be a strong girl", said Hunter proudly. "I just hope I don't have to shoot too many guys because of her!"
I laughed.
"I'm sure she'll be a beautiful spoiled princess wrapping her daddy around her pretty little finger and giving him a lot of grey hairs."
"You don't think I'm going to get my way with her?" Hunter asked grumpily.
"Ask my dad", I replied laughing. "He can tell you a thing or two about it."
