Raiya- Early Game Page 45

by Russell Wilbinski

And there was Sawbones. His friend had committed the ultimate sacrifice to save the lives of those he loved, but instead of meeting a noble end, the high king of kobolds had been captured, tortured and used as bait to twist the knife in his heart. Yet another thing that was his fault. Without a doubt in is mind, he knew he would save his friend. But the tiny lizard would have to survive until Skree could locate him and break him out of whatever foul prison Tamarand was keeping him in.

Shaking away the negative thoughts, he opened his character sheet. In his fight with the Maya the Blood Dancer, his hatchets had been invaluable. Great Weapons were powerful, but against an opponent that fast, it was a slow at his current skill level. He needed more ranks in his secondary weapons to be effective at all speeds and ranges. He spent five points in short blades, raising the total to Rank 20, hitting the cap once again.

“Looks like I will need to spend some more time with Boz when I get back to Theseldora.” He pondered that statement. “If I ever get back.”

Even with his massive constitution score and large pool of hit points, the enemies he was facing were growing more and more deadly. Each time he failed to dodge or block meant huge chunks of damage. The only way to mitigate that until he was a better fighter was to continue pumping his hit points up. He spent 5 more points on Constitution, bringing the total to 68 points. He scanned his sheet for changes.

  Hit Points780 (+50 hit points)

  Mana Points300

  Stamina595 (+15 stamina)

  Constitution68 (+5)

Small blades20 - Increase the base damage of all small blades by twenty percent.

Out of points to spend on himself, he immediately tried to access Zuka’s page and ground his teeth when it refused to appear. He had broken his connection to Zuka, and lost the ability to level his companion. Former companion now he realized. He could only hope Zuka wouldn’t hate him for what he had done. Realizing this train of thought would get him nowhere, he closed all of his windows, laid back on the pillow and tumbled into unconsciousness.

  A word from the Author

First, thank you for making it to the end of Raiya: Early Game. This book took longer to write than I hoped due to events in my life. I finished it though and for me, that counts as a win. I hope you have enjoyed this book. I write for myself, but with no one to read it, what would be the point?

I hope you will take a few minutes to leave a review on Amazon.com, every review helps more readers find great books. Love it or hate, a review is everything to us.
