  “Lucky fucker,” I said.

“Maybe, maybe not.” Derek shook his head. “His kid’s safe now, that's all that matters.”

“Fuck, he’s got a kid? Anyone I know?” I asked.

“Can we change the subject? I don't want to talk about it.”

“All right,” I said. I knew what the score was. Derek needed something to distract him from his job, I needed to experience Derek at least once. Then, maybe I could get him out of my mind permanently. I doubted it, but it was worth a shot. It was nearly midnight we got to his house.

  “You hungry?” he asked.

I shook my head. “I didn't come over here for food.”

  “No,” he said. “You didn't.”

Derek closed the space between us, his eyes almost level with mine. He placed his hand on the back of my neck and pulled me in for a hard kiss. I melted against him. His lips crushed against mine, but I didn't care because I had Derrick Williams in my arms, and soon he'd have me in his bed.

I barely registered that he unbuckling my pants and tugging at my shirt until our kiss broke and he pulled my shirt over my head, then whipped my pants down. I stepped out of them and he tossed them into the corner of the room.

His clothes disappeared as well and we finally started making our way toward the bedroom. I kissed and touched and explored as much as I could as we walked. This would be a night I wouldn’t soon forget. I only hoped that it wouldn't be our only night together, though I doubted that Derek would come back for more.

He seemed determined to get this over with quickly. I wondered if he even knew my name. I could pretend that he did.

I laid on my back on the bed. He motioned for me to flip over, and I complied. Pretending I was someone else? Maybe. I’d allow it, though.

Derek nudged my legs apart and I pulled my knees underneath me. He rumaged through the nightstand and pulled some items out, I couldn’t see what they were.

  “Condom?” I asked.

  “Yeah,” he said.

He was behind me again, his fingers at my opening, gently carressing until my body welcomed him in. My channel accommodating his fingers easily, my Omega nature ready for an Alpha to lay their claim.

HIs fingers were soon replaced with his cock. He pushed into me slowly. I moaned and pushed back against him, wanting all of him at once.

  “Fuck me, Derek,”

He chuckled. “Your wish is my command.” He slammed into me and I fisted my hands in the blanket to hold on to something. I cried out in pleasure as his cock filled me to the brim.

His hands held my hips in place. My dick ached with need, and my hand went to it, pumping to the same rhythm that my Alpha maintained.

I’d thought about being this way for so long, that I was halfway to the edge before we’d even started, so I wasn’t surprised when I came soon after. I groaned and arched into Derek.

His fingers tightened on my hips, likely leaving marks, as he roared his release soon after.

My knees gave out and Derek collapsed on top of me. A big guy like me could hold his weight just fine, and it felt nice to be cocooned by him, held tight and safe. But then he was gone.

The cool air hit my back and I knew the fun was over.

He disappeared into the bathroom and I grabbed a tissue from the nightstand to clean myself up. He came back a moment later and stripped the bed of the blanket.

“Is a sheet fine or do you need a blanket to sleep with?”

I looked at him in surprise. “I assumed I was going to go home.”

“Fuck, Cam, I’m not that much of an asshole that I’m going to make you walk home after that. Stay the night.”

So, he did know my name. “Okay.”

I woke up to the smell of coffee, which usually meant it was going to be a good morning. The only time I woke up to coffee being ready was when I was at the station. Only, this bed was thirty-times more comfortable than the station bunks.

The night came back to me in a rush. I was at Derek’s house, in Derek’s bed. I sat up and found my clothes piled neatly at the edge of the bed. I pulled them on and exited the bedroom.

Derek was at the table, he had his laptop out and he stared intently at the screen.

  “Good morning,” I said.

He grunted. “It’s closer to afternoon than morning.”

  “What?”

He turned to look at me then, glasses perched on nose. “You slept most of the morning. I checked the schedule and you’re not on shift until tomorrow, so I figured I’d let you sleep.”

  “Thanks,” I said.

He closed his laptop and stood. “Listen, last night was fun.”

I winced. It was unlikely that he was going to follow that up with “We should do it again sometime.”

“Yeah, but it can’t ever happen again, right? You’re just not into me? Or is it that you can’t get into a relationship right now? Or, are you going to be completely honest and say that an Omega of my size is just not appealing enough to fuck twice. Pick one, I’ve heard them all.”

He narrowed his eyes. “It’s just not a good idea. You’re young, way younger than me. And we’re technically colleagues.”

I nodded. “Well, I’ll see you around then.” No use in arguing and laying my heart out there like a fool.

I opened the door and ran straight into Turner Jefferies, one of Derek’s deputies. Fuck. We did not need that. I tried to come up with an excuse as to why I’d be here in my clothes from yesterday, but I couldn’t.

Fuck it. Derek can come up with an excuse.

I nodded to Jeffries and walked out the door.
