“Baby Girl, I can promise you I’m not. Those are not my hussies.”

“Right, they happen to just walk up to you, and drape themselves over you like an Armani suit. You know, I could hug some guys too, some guys that wouldn’t think twice about loving me.”

Trent's eyes turn wild, his pupils dilate, turning a dark gray. He moves his hand up to her face, cupping her check gazing into her eyes.

“Don’t forget that you’re mine. I will kill anyone that touches you. I will know if anyone gets near you. Remember who I am and who you belong to.”

Yvette's eyes tear up, she bites her lower lip. She leans in close wrapping her arms around his neck, pulling him down, and whispers.

“I want you. I need you to fuck me. This nonsense has to stop. I love you.”

Trent nibbles her ear, holding her tight, trembling. He compresses his lips, shakes his head.

“Not happening, it’s not time yet. I will love you soon but not now. I don’t want you to be a target to get to me, especially since I can’t have you at my side.”

Hell no. Not yet. I’ll die if they take her to get at me.

Yvette closes her eyes; the tears fall down her cheeks.

Trent cups her face with his huge hand gazes deeply into her eyes, whispers.

“Baby Girl, I would like to have a microchip implanted. I have one, and my family has one.”

Yvette’s eyes widen, furrows her forehead, inhales and exhales.

“I’ve never thought about it. I mean that my parents did discuss it a while back, but they didn’t follow through. I’ll get one if that gives you some peace of mind.”

Trent, nods, his eyes soften, and he feels the tightness in his chest diminish.

“Thank you, Baby Girl, for agreeing to get the microchip. I’ll die if anything happens to you.”

Trent pulls her close, buries his face in her neck, feeling her warm essence seep into his soul. He whispers, moving his lips up her neck.

  “I love you.”

“Mom, I’m so excited! I love my dress,” says Yvette turning in front of the mirror. She tosses her hair over her shoulders.

“Darling, you look like a princess.”

“Yvette, that dress really is you,” says Nicole, nodding. She walks around the to look at her from every angle.

“Jessica, your dress is beautiful! The color is perfect,” says Yvette, glowing.

“Yes, I’m really enjoying this. I know that Trent is going to love the gown on you, Yvette,” says Brittany, pulling and adjusting Jessica’s gown.

“Omg! I hope so,” squeals Yvette, blushing looking at her mom.

Oh god, I hope that Mom doesn’t start about waiting, geeze. It’s not like if he wants to, well not yet. But hopefully, he will soon.

“Yes, I do love it! I’m so happy that I was able to come with you to get my gown,” Jessica says breathlessly.

“Girls, no worries, it’s a pleasure. We have an appointment at the spa. Did you make your selection?” asks her mom.

“Oh, Mom, what a nice surprise! This is so fun,” says Yvette, beaming.

“I think that we should do more outings like this,” her mom mentions as she takes a sip of her champagne.

“Ohhhh . . . . yeah, I would like to do this again the day before the ball,” says Jessica breathlessly.

Yvette turns around, hugs Jessica, nodding.

“Yes, that’s a great plan. We will, right, Mom,” Yvette asks.

Brittany and Nicole, both grinning, nodding enthusiastically.

“Of course, we will,” Mom says with a smile.

The Elite’s outdoor shooting range, located in the Elite Country Club, is noisy, full of gun smoke. Trent walks into the stall, staring out at the target.

Trent stands firmly, controlling his breath, he grips the Glock in his right hand, holding it steady. He has complete control in cycling the trigger, keeping the Glock on the target. He clenches his jaw, narrows his eyes, hearing the King’s words flashback into his mind bringing that disconcerting graphic memory of that awful day flash through his mind each time he pulls the trigger.

Now Trent! Shoot. You can do this.

He gently squeezes the trigger, discharging a round of ammunition with speed and precision into the center of the bullseye.

Trent lowers the gun, turns to look over at his buddies, the Earls of the Elite order, the firstborn. His cousin Colby, and friends Rhett, Wesley, Alexander, Gregory, and Jax hoot.

  “Elite! Elite! Elite!”

He glowers, raising his right eyebrow at the Earls as he takes a bow.

“I bet you can’t beat that,” snarls Trent, sardonically.

“Fuck! I can do better,” hollers Rhett, looking smug.

“Yeah dudes, we all can,” says Wesley leaning his shoulder against the wall looking down at his cell phone.

“Dude, I’m starving, who wants food?” growls Gregory looking at his cell for the time.

“Right, I’m done. I’ll see you at the ball,” says Trent, nodding.

“Fuck, I hate attending the debutante’s ball,” says Alexander scowling.

“I don’t mind attending,” says Colby, shrugging.

  “Later dudes,” says Jax laughing.

“Dudes, later,” says Trent, turning as he walks down the gravel. His bodyguards walk behind him as he walks to the Halo Blue helicopter.

The others follow, each one with their own personal bodyguards and Halo helicopter.

Trent looks at his phone, reads the text message from his girl, Yvette.

I’m here with your sisters waiting for you. You’re going to take us to the movies, right?

Sweet, she’s at the penthouse, I really need to see her.

Trent's fingers skim over the screen replying to Yvette.

Baby Girl, I’m on my way.

Awesome! I can’t wait to see you! xoxoxo

His lips turn up, his gray eyes sparkle as he looks out into the sky, he leans back into the leather seat in Halo Blue.

It’s the time of year for the grand Elite Power debutante ball, The Elite Rose Debutante Ball is a spectacular event that takes place at the elegant Elite Country Club located in Napa, California. The club is exclusive and very private.

The debutante ball is full of important affluent, famous Elites from the US and Europe. They are screened thoroughly.

There are several large round tables strategically placed around the hall and amazing sparkling crystal chandeliers.

The event is decorated with a red rose in a crystal vase centerpiece and white and black tablecloth with matching seat covers.

The men are dressed in their custom-made black tuxes and the woman in elegant ball gowns.

The Debutantes dressed in elegant gowns, tiaras, and gloves. Wait patiently in the hall for their escort. Soon they will be announced.

Trent stands next to Yvette, takes her hand, and raises up to his lips.

Yvette looks beautiful in her white gown, long gloves, and a tiara. Yes, she’s definitely my Queen.

  “Angel, you look lovely.”

  “Thank you.”

Yvette blushes, gazing into his beautiful gray eyes. She then turns to look around the room, searching for where her family is seated.

Yes, he loves my gown. I knew that he would, I picked it thinking of him. It’s a halter-style gown with beautiful crystals and pearls, forming a floral pattern on the high waistline.

The line is moving up, and the ceremonial speaker announces Yvette.

  “It’s your turn, Baby Girl.”

Trent offers his arm to her gazing into her eyes.

  “Yes.”

Yvette slides her hand into his left and holds on tight. She smiles up at him, and then they take a step as she’s announced.

“Yvette Kaiser is the beloved daughter of David and Natalie Kaiser, one of the Elite’s founding family.”

The hall erupts in a thunderous clapping wave. Trent walks her down the hall towards the debutante’
s family table.

The next debutante is announced, and the crowd looks at her.

Trent nods at her family, smiles, and waits for Yvette to take a seat. He smiles at her, gazing into her eyes.

“Yvette, I would love to have the first dance.”

  “That would be awesome.”

  “Wonderful.”

Yvette walks over to her parents’ table, blissfully smiles. She sits down next to her mom, watching him step away. She adjusts her dress and leans over to whisper to her mom.

“Mom, did everyone notice? I want them to know that he’s taken.”

“Darling, you look beautiful! Trent looks so handsome. I saw a few mothers noting the way he looks at you.”

“Mom, yes, I’m so happy that he escorted me. He’s super gorgeous, incredible, and all mine.”

“Yes, I agree Darling. Promise me that you will take it slow.”

Yvette glances at her mom, sighs, nods in acquiescence.

“Yes, we will, but only because he wants to wait.”

“Darling, slow down, you have all the time in the world.”

  “Ok.”

Yvette smiles as she looks around the room and then at Trent’s table.

Trent walks towards the bar to get a drink nodding at his friends, leans against the bar countertop.

  “Whiskey, neat.”

He turns to look at Yvette, then looks at his sister Jessica when she’s announced. He looks at Jessica, watching her closely as she walks down the hall escorted by Sean Wolff. Sean’s father is Duke Augustus Wolff that presides over the utilities.

Yes, Jessica is lovely, I wish that our parents were here on this special day for her. I don’t know if I’m enough to make up for the absence of our parents. Days like this are the most painful, cutting deep into my soul.

Trent smiles at her, nods, giving her the support and love on this special day. He turns to look at the table where his other siblings are seating. The youngest girl Brittany, smiles, and signals for him to join them.

Trent takes the last drink of the whiskey, pushes off from the bar, and walks over to the table. He slides onto the seat next to her, smiling wraps his arm around her, hugging close.

“Hey princess, are you enjoying the ball? Yours will be in a few years.”

Brittany beams, nodding, clasping her hands on her lap.

“Yes, I can’t wait. I love Jessica’s dress! She looks like a princess!”

“Yes, I agree, she does look like a princess.”

Trent looks over at Jessica, and then automatically glances at Yvette.

“Princess, I’m taking you and Jessica home.”

Brittany smiles, slides her arm through his leaning into his shoulder.

“I love spending time with you, I miss you.”

Trent smiles down at her, looks over at his brothers nodding. Lennox is sitting next to the twins, Brent and Troy. Next to them sits Austin, Sabastian, and Clayton, the youngest brother.

The brothers all have the same body type, tall, muscular, and dark hair. Some have gray or blue eyes, but the eyes are framed with ridicules long black lashes.

“Clayton, I would like to have you stay with me for a few weeks.”

Trent looks at him and then at his other brothers raising his right eyebrow, crossing his legs, leans back into his chair.

Clayton looks at him nods and takes a drink of his beer.

  “Sounds good.”

Trent places his hand on the table, tapping his fingers, looks out the huge window, thinking.

“Hey, better still, why don’t you all stay with me for a few weeks.”

  Lennox laughs, shaking his head.

“Trent, you don’t have enough room. You take the girls, and I’ll take the guys. We’re in the same building.”

“Ok, that sounds great. We need a little family time, some bonding time.”

“Sounds good,” says Austin grinning. “We can go clubbing.”

“Oh yeah, the Konigs are partying,” chuckles Brent.

“Whatever it takes, partying, dinner, BBQ, the works,” says Trent, nodding.

“Shopping?” Brittany asks blushing as she glances at each of her brothers.

Trent grins, winks at her, nodding leans to kiss her soft glowing cheek. He looks over at his brothers raising his eyebrow.

“Whatever it takes princess. We’ll take you and Jessica shopping, right?”

Some nod, others grunt, and scowl, but they all eventually agreed.

Trent grins and looks over at Yvette talking to her mother.

“Darling,” says Aunt Violet, smiling. She places her hand on his shoulder, leaning down.

“Ah, Aunt Violet, how are you ?”

“I’m doing wonderful darling. I’m planning a family BBQ at the house. I would like for you all to attend.”

Trent grins, and then stares at his siblings, then looks at his aunt.

“That would be lovely, we will be there.”

Aunt Violet rubs his back and kisses his cheek.

“I’m looking forward to talking to you. I’ll have my assistant text you the date.”

  “That works.”

Trent grins, as he moves to stand up.

“Excuse me, Auntie, I have a dancing date.”

“Ok, I’ll talk to you later.”

Trent walks away, already forgetting his family focusing on Yvette. He stops next to her, extends his hand smiling down at her.

  “It’s time for our dance.”

Yvette blushes as she looks at him, then glances at her parents’ consenting faces. She takes his hand and stands up following him to the dance floor.

  “Awesome.”

Trent leads the way to the dance floor, pulling her into his arms since it’s a slow dance.

“Baby Girl, I’ll meet you at the gardens in thirty minutes.”

Yvette holds his hand, turns to look at him, and nods. She smiles and then looks away.

“It’s been a while, and I miss you.”

Trent tightens her hand in his, looks down at the floor, ignoring the crowd’s curious looks.

“Baby Girl, look at them stare at us. I don’t want you to be attacked or hurt.”

Yvette opens her eyes, looks at everyone’s curious, and shameless stare.

  Yvette blushes, closing her eyes.

“Yeah, they are. We can’t let them know yet.”

  “Right.”

  “Ok, I’ll meet you.”

The song ends, and Trent walks her back to the table. He nods at her parents and smiles at her. He turns and walks away.

Fuck! I need to dance with a few other debutantes so Yvette wouldn’t be signaled out. Everything I do is closely scrutinized, and I don’t want her to get hurt.

Trent smiles at the last debutante as she sits at her table. He nods to the parents and turns, taking long eager strides to the gardens.

He walks into the gardens and down to the bench at the end near the water fountain. The huge water fountain is a sculpture of Zeus, with the waterfalls coming out of his staff, creating a fine mist.

He unbuttons his jacket, and slides his hands into his pockets, staring at the moon, listening to the music float through the night air.

The sound of steps near him, makes him turn smiling, expecting Yvette. His eyes widen, startled, but quickly changes his demeanor.

  What the fuck!

  “Hey, Trent.”

Jennifer takes another step closer, smiling up at him, and looks at his beautiful gray eyes. She stops in front of him. Nervously moves her right hand to flip her long blond hair over her shoulder.

Trent stands straighter, moves his hands out of his pockets, turning into the Trent that he shows the world. He nods, his full lips compressed tight, and his gray eyes turning cold. His face is now completely stoic, emotionless, ruthless. The mask is in place.

  “Hey, Jennifer. What’s up?”

Jennifer flinches, closing her eyes for a second. Then she looks at him, biting her lower lip, places her han
d on his arm.

“I saw you come out here and I thought I’ll join you. I wanted to ask you to dance.”

Trent’s eyebrows furrow, he inhales, and nods.

“We can dance, but it will be in a few minutes. I was getting some air.”

Jennifer’s nervousness disappears, and she grins at him, clasping her hands in front of her pounding heart.

“Trent, I’ll wait for you inside.”

Trent's eyes are hooded, he nods, looking at Yvette standing at the top of the steps.

Jennifer eagerly throws her arms around him and gives him a peck.

Trent’s eyes widen as he looks at Yvette, and grabs Jennifer’s arms, pushing her away from him. He glares at Jennifer, shaking his head.

“Jennifer, I’ll look for you inside.”

  “Ok!”

Jennifer turns and walks up the steps, ignoring Yvette, tossing her blonde hair over her shoulder.

Yvette's eyes tear up, and she turns around to walk back inside.

Trent’s heart stops, and he races up the stairs, sweeping her up into his arms. He walks down to a darker private area behind the fountain.

He sets her on her feet, holding her tight, whispering in her ear.

“Baby Girl, it’s not what you think. She’s the one that kissed me. I love you! She showed up and asked for a dance. I only agreed, but I never expected her to kiss me!”

Yvette buries her face in his hard chest, shaking, and inhales deeply to control the tears.

“Trent, Jennifer wants you, and she will come after you.”

Trent kisses her head, rubbing her back with his hands. His hands move up her back to caress her soft skin shaking. He gazes into her clear, hurt green eyes; his chest compresses with fear.

“It doesn’t matter because I only want you.”

Yvette glares at him, shaking her head.

“Come on, Trent, I’m not a little girl anymore. I know that you’re with other women. I see the photos and articles with some slut at your side at the charity balls and dinners! How do you expect me to believe that you wouldn’t go with her? I think she’s beautiful and we both know that you can fuck her. But you have this unachievable high moral standard for me!”

Trent raises his eyebrows, surprised at her words. He moves his hand up to brush away the tears, shaking his head, gazes into her hurt eyes.
